With the Thunder Saga’s release, we now have an album for each of the Big Three that match their dominions/power alignments: Poseidon’s Ocean Saga, Hades’ Underworld Saga, and Zeus’ Thunder Saga. But only Poseidon and Zeus have appeared (at least so far). And as someone who favors Hades amongst the three, this struck me as interesting. When Odysseus and his crew have faced Poseidon and Zeus, there is no doubt that they are in danger and inevitably suffer many casualties (Ruthlessness and Thunder Bringer). Hades is the only one of the three to grant some level of safety. Odysseus goes into the Underworld to avoid Poseidon and once they leave, they eventually deal with Zeus. I don’t doubt that Hades knows they’re there. It’s his domain after all. He knows all that goes on in it. Sure, the Underworld does present some danger but it’s worth noting that the crew suffers no casualities in the Underworld. They get to see those they’ve lost as they travel through it, which is emotionally devastating but also kind of a gift in a way? Especially for Odysseus with his mom. It’s a “seeing them one last time until they join them” situation. But the Underworld doesn’t seem to directly intend to harm them, not like the ocean or the weather. I find this neat considering that Hades tends to have a poor (undeserved in my opinion) reputation in modern media, often being depicted as the villain between his brothers, which is wild considering the things his brothers get up to. And yet here, not only is he absent unlike the other two but he is also being presented as the safest. Maybe I’m reading a touch too much into it but I feel like there’s something to be said about this. 🤔

Imagine, if you will, Respawn ending up in the least important town in all of Illinois hoping to lay low for a while whilst planning to completely wreck Damian’s shit only to get shot at by some rogue government agents, kill said government agents, accidentally out some meta kid to the entire town while he tries to keep him from killing more government agents (who have not stopped shooting at either of them), save him by coincidence while making his escape, and having to flee the state with said weird metahuman kid (he’s like the third person to ever treat him like an actual human so he decided not to leave him behind) on the world’s third-worst roadtrip in order to rock up to Batman��s actual house to convince him to clear their names and get rid of the anti-ecto acts, with his only point of bartering being him pinky promising that he’ll definitely stop trying to kill Damian this time

And all of this happens over the course of like three days
