Imagine, if you will, Respawn ending up in the least important town in all of Illinois hoping to lay low for a while whilst planning to completely wreck Damian’s shit only to get shot at by some rogue government agents, kill said government agents, accidentally out some meta kid to the entire town while he tries to keep him from killing more government agents (who have not stopped shooting at either of them), save him by coincidence while making his escape, and having to flee the state with said weird metahuman kid (he’s like the third person to ever treat him like an actual human so he decided not to leave him behind) on the world’s third-worst roadtrip in order to rock up to Batman’s actual house to convince him to clear their names and get rid of the anti-ecto acts, with his only point of bartering being him pinky promising that he’ll definitely stop trying to kill Damian this time

How do you know if you’re antisemitic?

Well, if a Jew telling you you’re antisemitic won’t make you believe it, here is a guide to help you figure it out yourself.

1. Do you think Jews, en masse, are ACTIVELY REPLACING/ATTEMPTING TO REPLACE some other group — especially a somehow more deserving group? 2. Do you think Jews are PRETENDING TO BE SOMETHING THAT THEY ARE NOT? (For example, White, PoC, “Real” Jews, Indigenous/Native, an Ethnic Minority, Devoted Citizens of [YOUR COUNTRY] etc.)?

3. Do you think Jews are CONTROLLING OR ATTEMPTING TO CONTROL SOME INTEGRAL ASPECT OF SOCIETY? (For example, the government, media, banks, business, medicine, etc.)

4. Do you think Jews that you criticize are UNIQUELY BLOODTHIRSTY OR GENOCIDAL — especially when hoping for personal achievement or cultural supremacy? IF YOU ANSWERED YES TO ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS YOU ARE AN ANTISEMITE. This is literally textbook antisemitism. If you answered, well yeah but only “the Jews in Israel” or “the ones who vote for Bibi” or the “ones who moved to my town/country/region” or if you saw something on one of the lists and think “well no fair! That one is actually true,” your exception isn’t exceptional. You haven’t found the one true bad thing that Jews ACTUALLY are. It’s not some conspiratorial propaganda to equate reasonable beliefs with hate. You’re just hateful. Some part of you hates Jews. And you have to confront what that part of you is and you have to destroy it if you want to engage in any conversations that impact Jewish welfare anywhere in the world.

One way to start deconstructing is to ask yourself “Why do I feel this way?” “From whom did I learn to think this way?” “Who in my life approves and supports me thinking this way?” “Am I comfortable telling a Jewish person I feel this way in person?” “How do I think a Jewish person will feel/What do I think a Jewish person will think if I tell them this?” “Do I care what they feel or think? Why or why not?” “How would I feel/what would I think if someone felt this way or thought this way about me or an identity I value deeply?”

Ngl, I'm scared about Season 3.

So much of what I loved about Season 2 was all the character development, the "filler" (minus a few moments that felt like unnecessary jokes, but that's a whole 'nother post.) How queer it was, how much it didn't hurry to further the plot like I felt like Season 1 did.

I came into Good Omens as as Gaiman fan, and as happy as I am that he's essentially no longer involved, I don't know what to make of the Pratchet Estate taking on a major role. Yes, I know TP wrote as much if not more than Gaiman when it comes to the book. But it's the show I fell in love with.

All that said:

I know David and Michael, the latter especially, took a fairly platonic script Good Omens Season 1, and made it very romantic.

I know they acted the fuck out of a Zoom call for three seasons and it's still one of the funniest things I've seen.

I saw Michael Fucking Sheen cold read an entire play for a 500 person audience. And he fucking killed it.

I saw David Fucking Tennant play a character that has been played countless times. And the audience still fucking GASPED at a key moment in the play.

I don't know the new producers enough to fully trust them yet. And that's okay.

But I trust David and Michael as actors. And for now that is enough.

I honestly don’t know how to feel about the drama post. I had no idea that any of that even happened. I know it was addressed already but sexual grooming? Yes, Shattered-Sparked groomed some people.

They stated that at the time, they were unaware that it was grooming.

This callout post was made only AFTER the fact that Sparks tried to make up for it.

If this was still going on, their followers and mutuals would be in that state of mind, including myself. I am not in said state and neither is any one of their followers/mutuals I know.

Ignorong it just because he was a comfort and inspiration to me for so long feels like being complicit, so I 100% understand everyone concerned about the very real possibility that it could be him because it's shit to feel like you've been supporting an abuser unknowingly, I don't think shitting on people for thinking on this is the right call. Using the fact that no name was brought up in the stream itself also isn't the best defense when if it was Him, saying the name itself would be social suicide. Fem presenting ccs and victims are already treated like shit all the time, do you think it would go better if number one white boy was explicitly accused of being an abuser? Especially in a space so parasocial and with him having such a large dedicated fanbase and fame so diversified? I just don't think shitting on people for drawing conclusions and taking distance is a hill to die on

However it might be, that was so brave of Shelby and I hope she can finally find some peace and comfort among friends.

Ultimately, we should talk a lot more about the real message of the stream: Be wary about signs of abuse. She's sharing her story so we can all take caution. Nobody is above falling into an abusive relationship of some kind, no matter how smart and mature you think you are or if you literally don't do romantic or even platonic relationships, you can still be a victim of an abusive interpersonal relationship and not realize just how bad it's getting until something's gotta give. And the rest of the message that nobody is excempt from possobly being an abuser, even if they claim they love you, even if they reflect and assume responsibility later, someone you think you can trust can be doing real harm to you or someone else you love, and that's why we should be wary
