I think I've gotten to the point where I'm just gonna not interact with or even block blogs that post v/3 fan art while aggressively and needlessly harping on it in the caption

honestly at this point if i see 'lucifer fan' in bio - i run away and i run even faster if it's radioapple fun 🙃
too tired of 'tall buff stoic manly man and his cute short feminine girlie' i see 99% of time from these people
there's some who only post luci/lilith and these ones are ok (still not everyone tho) but the large part just have veeeeery different view on his character than i do
"too tired of 'tall buff stoic manly man and his cute short feminine girlie'"
Me too, bro. Me too. Why can't we have tall buff stoic masculine girlie and cute short feminine man. Or tall cute stoic man and short masculine girlie. Or short stoic masculine man and cute tall feminine girlie. Let's mix things up a little. Variety is the spice of life.
Apart from him being UwU-ified to Hell and back (lol), I think one of my biggest fanon Lucifer pet peeves is when he's absolved of all his faults and wrongdoings. Like, when the "blame" for Lucifer and Lilith's divorce is put solely on Lillith. Or she's made out to be this super abusive, manipulative partner who's been taking advantage of him since Eden. Like she's the one who kept Charlie and Lucifer apart, and thus is the reason they're so estranged. Like he's this wide-eyed, easily manipulated ray of sunshine who can't defend himself. Like he's this poor little baby man who's never done any wrong, and everyone else just bullies him.
I'm a-okay with Lilith being the big-bad of season 2, or season 3, because evil and/or morally grey female characters fuck yes, but after seeing how much hate she gets (after 5 seconds of screen time at the end of the show) and how much she's blamed for everything wrong in Lucifer's life, it makes me hope that she's not the villain.
A lot of my dislike for Lucifer's fanon characterizations is based on his interactions between Alastor or Lilith, I'm actually just now realizing.
This got a little side-tracked, but yeah, a large part of it really is just having very, very different views about his character.

Not to sound like an asshole but I really do think some published authors should have their internet access revoked until they can prove that they understand how human beings actually speak to each other in real life and not twitter

benny was also like incredibly abusive to yes man and kept him trapped in that shitty side room. it’s no wonder yes man genuinely loves the courier regardless of if they make decisions he likes or not after being liberated from benny. courier must be an angel to him
I think incredibly abusive is a bit much.
Like Benny was not kind to Yes-Man but he was not particularly cruel. If Yea-Man was let out of the room then anyone could’ve asked him anything and outed the plan, leading to him and Benny being exiled at best or killed (permanently in Yes-Mans case) at worse. Yeah, it was Benny’s fault he was like this but it was probably the only fail safe to keep House’s systems from tapping into Yes-Man, by giving him no code to reject commands the only way to influence him would be in person. House can’t do that.
Also liberated makes it sound like you are treating Yes-Man like an equal when you’re just treating him slightly better than most would treat a personalized Mr. Handy bot. Benny isn’t nice to him, didn’t give him a real name, but he definitely loved Yes-Man, more like a science project but that was his thing y’know? Robots with personalities like him that aren’t common in the Mojave and are considered odd. Benny already did a lot more than someone who’d just mistreat his creation by allowing him to be passive-aggressive in the first place. He let Yes-Man think which a big step from most AI programs in the Mojave.
I think the issue is Yes-Man genuinely appreciates the Courier for getting the plan in motion but that wasn’t a lack of Benny. He had completely different circumstances than the Courier that didn’t allow him to be as bold. Yes-Man learns to love the Courier because they come to rule Vegas and he sees them as competent and the next logical leader now that Benny is no longer his primary overseer.
Honestly the Courier and Yes-Man are closer to a exclusive business partnership by the end of the independent route if we go by the general answers. The Courier can be as nice or as mean to Yes-Man as they want and Yes-Man does not see the Courier as flawless or an angel just the next logical step in a plan. Of course, depending on what you do or headcanon, their relationship can be much more complex than that but on a even ground between all of the options, Yes-Man and the Courier are means to an end to each other.
A popular theory before New Vegas had the current fandom it did and developer commentary was that Yes-Man was going to betray you at the end of the independent route. Lying that he’d just upgrade himself to only listen to you so you wouldn’t stop him. Some people still follow it despite it being debunked while other love the idea he genuinely only wants to listen to you.
It’s all up to interpretation my dear. I personally don’t think Benny was cruel to Yes-Man not more than he is to another Chairman. He’s a robot, of course, to Benny and that has its own connotations on how he was treated but I digress. The Courier is far from an angel or saint to anyone but I do like the idea that there’s a fondness from Yes-Man. Lee so how they can be so illogically efficient rather than what they’ve done fore him.

finished hera & started lady macbeth and we have got to start blaming women for shit again for real
#this is a joke. but.#if i have to read one more retelling~ that’s just#‘but what if the woman was ASSAULTED ALL THE TIME and had NO AGENCY so everything bad she did was JUSTIFIED or a LIE???’ please stop#when you’re actively taking agency away from women written and portrayed in deeply patriachal cultures you’re not giving them a voice#youre taking the voice they had away.#women worked around and within the patriarchy while having feelings and ambitions and wants and dreams and flaws and virtues forever.#without the necessity of ‘but what if the MAN in her life was just SUPER EVIL and NOT NUANCED and she was just ASSAULTED’#what if no women wanted anything but SAFETY ever what if they were never power hungry or jealous or predatory ever themselves?#yes circe did this too if i have to see one more person say ‘oh except circe’ i will scream.#circe is literally like. the worst offender here.#pivoting back though sorry but it also all feels very bioessentialist PRESUMABLY without meaning to but ‘oh men are just inherently evil#with no nuance. nuance is for women and by nuance we mean was just super oppressed and wronged’ is uh haha actually terfy as fuck#good ol lady macunsexmeherebeth who definitely didn’t plot the whole thing to begin with for sure needs to be Given a Voice#i haven’t finished this one yet btw. i like this author’s work on the whole i just think this one is a swing and a miss because like.#this is not a woman who didn’t do anything and who didn’t have a voice.#if you want to show us her perspective in terms of her psychology and her inner workings and how she got to this place excellent wonderful#but not when the answer is just ‘but actually nothing was her fault ever!!!!!!’ like. lol let her want that crown for reasons that aren’t#my husband is abusive.#like oh my god.#same with hera you’re gonna go with the ONE tradition where she didn’t want to marry zeus#and all her rage is just about Injustice and the Patrairchy and not actual envy. okay.#she & zeus were an og most toxic couple of all time but they WERE in virtually all tradition a couple still who had times of reconciliation#and attachment.#like you know. actual toxic and abusive relationships do.#also it completely erased rhea who was actually the character whose story this more closely resembled#(warrior goddess with flop husband she finally schemes against)#instead she just. uh. went away oh no hera’s so afraid of being weak like mama she must break the cycle.#like okay this is the story you want to tell stop superimposing it on mythical entities from thousands of years ago then.#justice4rhea.#okay sorry. end rant.

i'm the antonymph of the internet
#how many tributes to this song will i make in my life#MANY ! it literally changed my life and means a lot to me. i love antonymph and vylet pony's music is worth checking out - please do.#unsupervised internet access as a queer neurodivergent kid anthem !!#i chose to do misty since we all know i like drawing her in experimental pieces and putting her in outfits. she also has art in a gir hoodi#from the clash team in treasure trove!! :D#this is also experimental/stylistic as well!! had fun!! nice to just draw something in one day and not worry. leaves me tired but...#haven't done a nice piece like so in one day in a while!!! i'm very proud :] it's a fun one#anyways... both a little tribute to the song and misty as a character#ihave so many thoughts about misty even if i dont talk publicly on them. shes a very interesting character to me and i care about her so#much. i compared her to fluttershy in the past - and realized that if i liked ttcc as a kid she would've been my favorite.#fluttershy on her own meant a lot to me as a child. including mlp itself as it's one of the core things that got me into drawing art online#a lot of my analysis on misty and headcanons at least on the more emotional scale do come from a bit of projecting but...it makes it more#fun to me when i can put myself into the shoes of a character like her who i already relate to. rrghh too bad im scared to talk about her#too much in nuanced detail in public since some people are... not so nice about her. though i know the tumblr audience is nice and unders#standing!!#anyways from me just having fun being me#i let misty have a little bit of fun... something i think she would possibly enjoy? i do see her as someone who gets nostalgic#and is stuck in more childish things and matters. she wants to play ip dip with you...its very sweet to me. letting myself and her be#confident through a song that means so much to me is kind of powerful to me. i had a lot of fun making this drawing.#anyways. love this song. love ttcc. love mity /p. be swag and be self indulgent and have fun. you can do anything u want forevah#toontown#toontown corporate clash#antonymph#guz art#rainmaker

#hmmm if i ever feel like full force swinging a bat at a hornests nest i'll make a post about how#about at least 80% of b*ldurs gate 3 discourse could be avoided if we all just recognized that its an rpg where the choices you make#actively shape and change the companion characters. like its an important mechanic#and also there is just so much writing and optional scenes that require different circumstances to even trigger in the first place#so everyones playthrough is different; no one in their average experience will have seen everything#meaning that everyones version of the characters is gonna be different#and while there definitely is a core personality and established backstory for the characters#arguing; discoursing and nitpicking about the small nuances and details in characterization is a largely fruitless and joyless endeavour#like whatever let ppl portray the characters based on their own experience with the game; we're all here to have fun so on and so on#like i love reading different peoples interpretations of the characters even if i disagree and think completely differently#i think its healthy to have a variety of takes and to then find and engage with the characterizations that you personally vibe with#(for the record: i dont mean like discussions abt wyll and how ppl in fndom treat poc and female characters; those are obviously important)#but yea i dont feel like arguing so tag rambling it is#this isnt about anything specific or prompted by anything or anyone btw#these are just my general thoughts based on more or less passively vibing in the fanbase#please dont come for me. you can do whatever you want forever etc etc peace and love

Whenever people on TikTok are like “Sebastian is the worst I hate him sm” and sit here with Seb, Expa and Scarlett being some of my favourite characters/concepts
#i say concepts in reference to scarlett </3 i wish the ef writers knew what they were doing#but also yeah. sebastian is my 2nd fav krane and my top favorite traitor. free my boy he did nothing wrong#let him be a narrative foil to marcus and kill donald please#lab rats#mighty med#lab rats elite force#Sebastian Krane#Experion#Laura Drowning#Scarlett (ef)#lref#lr#mm#continuing my rant in the tags:#with characters like sebastian it feels like they wrote themselves into a corner with him because OBVIOUSLY they couldnt show a man dying-#-on screen and OBVIOUSLY the “Bad Guys” couldnt win. so they just never brought seb up again and hoped we'd just forget he existed#and with scarlett it was such a waste to have her in one episode and THEN DIE?? shes the only elite force character to fucking. die#even rotisserie chicken lived at the end but The One Shot they gave at mighty med lore? nah just kill her we cant have nuance#BECAUSE. CALDERIA. is my favorite setting in mighty med and i love the calderians because u can tell mighty med went fucking crazy with the#like they make up the lore for calderia as mighty med went on and its always crazy shit like their language and the pods n shit#and the One Time they focused on Calderia in a Serious Setting. where calderia can FINALLY get respect they fuck it up and fuck up the lore#like. elite force was so awful on so many levels and like. sometimes. sometimes you can see a writer tried to fix it. they tried but then-#-they get overrun by the other writers who made oliver a massive creep and focused on filler episodes more than than plot#they were trying to pull a s1 labrats by setting up characters THEN the overarching plot. but they sucked so hard at the filler that the sh#just. just got canned.#Also Experion! i understand that they probably didnt have much planned for her seeing as (in Canon) she was a dude and calderia was a-#-female only established planet so they needed to get rid of her. but i wouldve liked if they talked about expa more and made up more-#-batshit lore up. wouldve eaten that garbage up. <3 Laura Drowning u will always win in my heart

maybe it's the autism but like. i can't put away morals for someone. i can understand where someone is coming from, empathize with that, but i can't like. excuse their actions, if that makes sense. like i'm not morally neutral. if i see a character on tv and they're objectively attractive, but they exploit their systemic power i can never be like 'i am attracted to this character.' because. like it's not attractive to be an oppressor?
it's why i don't get people obsessed with like. kylo ren or some shit. like did you...ignore the fact that he's a fascist or...? like i get it if characters are regretful about it, which is why i don't hold the same level of scrutiny for like, darth vader stans or something but it's still like. 👍 cool ur in love with a fascist arm of the state.
idk it seems um. weird. and it's specifically about systemic abuse. idc about u shipping with a slasher lmao yeah they're hot all covered in blood like that. because while what they didn't wasn't like...right, (though in some cases it absolutely is) most of them are not literal fascists or monarchs or dictators or like. rich people. idk. its just confusing to me because i can't understand how people put aside the actual ideology behind the actions people take. if you commit a war crime it's like. ok there are situations where this might be acceptable or understandable. but if you fundamentally believe that you have the divine right to rule a country, and that by birth you are fundamentally worth more than everyone else. i'm like. 👍 cool kys.
idrc how much you suffered if you use that suffering as justification for the leveraging of your systemic power against the working class, you know? go cry in ur castle built by slave labor, babe <3
and this isn't a judgement of the people who ship with these people, really. it's just me tryin got get down my internal reasoning around some characters. i'm just. trying to figure out why i think the way i do. if you ship with people like im describing, i genuinely don't care unless they're an actual, literal on-screen nazi. ship with ur thanos or ur davros etc i love you for that and im glad ur having fun. im just. confused about how? if anyone wants to talk about it let me know i'm genuinely curious. i'm trying to encourage myself to be more lenient with my definitions or 'right' and 'wrong' because sometimes it causes me like. genuine distress lmao.

This. Intent matters. She wasn't perfect, and people got hurt, but to pretend that she did more harm than good is bullshit. To pretend she is a straight up villian is also bullshit.
It's actually so important to me how flawed Penelope is you don't get it. She's complex and she's kind and sweet and caring and loving and bitter and manipulative and insecure and she's young and hurt and fucking up and making mistakes and hurting people and loving people and handling things in the worst way possible with the resources she has on hand and she's allowed to.
So often for a fat (and I say that within the context of the show, Pen is a fat/pus sized character within the narrative even if Nicola isn't) character to have any storyline outside of mother or joke they have to be the perfect victim. To be fat is to be victimised by society to some degree, it is to be told you are unloved and unwanted and unworthy without anyone saying those exact words, we all know this even if we don't want to except it. It's why almost every fat character is bullied in some way even if it's passed off as a joke, and they are just expected to take it because to actually acknowledge the pain and hurt and damage that causes is to acknowledge their humanity.
There is no space for complexity when you do not recognise the humanity of a character, there is no room for mistakes or grace or forgiveness in a narrative when the character is presented as lucky to simply be there. This goes doubly so for romance, as rare as it is to even see plus sized girls as a romantic lead, when they are there is no room for mistakes, the standards they are held to are so vastly different because they can't fuck it all up, they have no room to make mistakes when people question why they're even there in the first place.
But not Penelope. She fucks up so many times over, she creates half her own problems trying to fix things or make herself feel better. It dose not shy away from the damage and underlining issues and insecurities the life she has lead has left her with, and it's sympathetic to be sure, but what she dose with it isn't. Because fat people do not have to be the perfect victim and honestly most of the time are not. Because when you tell someone how little they are worth and how out of place and undesirable they are at every turn and expect them to internalise that, especially a young girl with very little power at her immediate despoil, it doesn't always come out in a very nice palatable way. It doesn't always create nice sweet uncomplicated people who cry a little when insulted but otherwise brush it off. It creates people like Penelope, it creates anger and resentment and bitterness and a need for control.
Whistledown is so many things, not all of them negative, but it is the cause of so many problems in her life after she made it as an attempt at a solution. It has caused her to hurt people and betray people and lose some of the very few genuine connections she actually has. She manipulates people and misleads them to keep her secret, because keeping a secret like that will always result in that. Her motives are sympathetic, she rarely dose anything to bad without reasoning, she has all the excuses in the world and still at the end of the day she fucked up. Her and Eloise are the second love story of the season for a reason. She adores that girl so much and she is absolutely miserable without her, as Eloise is without her. They love each other so much and there is so much pain between them now, they're practically crying every time they look at each other. And even tho the situation was complicated an messy and not completely her fault, she did in a way cause it. She's hurt people and she's hurt herself. And I love that.
Because she's a main character. We know her and Eloise will make up even if it isn't the way it was before (arguably a good thing but that's a different post.) Because she's a romantic lead, because we know, even if we don't know how they get there yet, that she will get her happy ending with the man she absolutely adores and who loves her just as much. It will not be easy I don't want it to be easy, Colin has every right to be angry and hurt and betrayed and he deserves to have the space to say whatever it is he's feeling and to have a negative reaction, but he will forgive her. Part of that is just because of who he is and the relationship he has to her (mandatory Colin appreciation moment) but it's also because the narrative has given her room and grace to be flawed.
There is so much to love about Penelope. She's so intelligent, and she's funny, she's a good listener, she makes people feel heard and important, she's kind, she's attentive, she's romantic, she's creative, she's beautiful. She is a victim and people and society do hurt her, but that's not all she is. She's given the space to be more and still be forgiven and loved just like anyone else. Because her actions is what she's apologising for not her existence. She dose not need to earn her place in a love story just because she's fat, it's her actually flaws and mistakes that exist in abundance no matter how sympathetic some of them might be, that she has to make up for. And I adore that and her.
You take away so much of her character and her agency and her complexity when you say she did nothing wrong or that she's the absolute devil. Let her be flawed, let her be someone trying their best and failing at it, let her make mistakes. But give her some grace, for once the narrative is. Her happy ending will come Bridgerton is a romance show, but she'll have to work for it. Colin and her will work for and earn their happy ending together, because they love each other and because of who they are and what they mean to each other they will find a way to make it work, but also because the writers let them and her find it.

The thing that’s pissing me off the most about Than’s characterization specifically is that . Minthe didn’t even use him ?? Like sure she started getting pushy even when the plan was obviously failing, but *hes* the one who came up with the plan, who put it into motion, who got together with Thetis- who Minthe was JUST about to dump- just to get Minthe back into her toxic relationship . And he just . Gets to walk away from it scot free ? Fuck off with that man .

Hey so, I saw the post you deleted and I'd like to point out something. Saying stuff like 'he's written badly and makes little sense' comes across as kinda, 'foregone conclusion' that he is, like it's a factual matter of 'good vs bad' and not one of missed nuances and confusing framing as well as opinion? I think that's what annoyed people. Sorry that one of them was a bit harsh though
I realized that my wording probably felt like.. I was missing something major or missing parts of his character, which is why I made my edit to try to recontextualize what I meant. Kokichi’s writing is not black and white, good or bad, just. Could have been done better in my opinion (emphasis on MY opinion please don’t kill me)
Communicating exactly what I mean is difficult for me, which is probably part of the confusion (and in turn the anger I received), but at the end of the day, my opinions on how his character was framed and written by the story itself was NOT the point of the post at all. It was more background context that I only wanted to briefly touch on, which in hindsight I could have easily left out. Alas, I have no concept of what’s socially acceptable, ESPECIALLY not in the Danganronpa community. Accidentally whacked a wasp nest with that one, and that was my bad.
My post was a question about a COMPLETE rewrite, because I wanted to do something new with the character using my own viewpoints and I wanted to know what others would find a more interesting concept to explore. I got my answer, with almost everyone agreeing taking a more sympathetic antag route would be more interesting (as much fun as I would have had trying to write a version of Kokichi that’s irredeemable, because I do love that type of character, admittedly writing the aforementioned is much easier)
I do apologize, genuinely, for the misunderstandings my lack of communication skills led to. I did not mean to offend anyone or come across as high and mighty or anything of the sort. I did not handle the situation as masterfully as I had liked, but rest assured I will be more careful next time. I understand where I went wrong and will be choosing my words more carefully if I ever criticize a character’s written framing again.
At this point I’d kind of like to just. Leave that alone and not talk about it beyond this post? I don’t take well to conflict and otherwise strong emotional reactions due to my own neurodivergencies, which frankly isn’t any one’s problem but mine, but that’s why the post is now deleted.
I send well wishes to anyone reading this, and thanks to the people who had genuinely kind and helpful responses to everything that happened. I am still learning how to exist and interact, so the compassion expressed by people like Anon here is much appreciated. /gen
