i kinda want to know what do you consider new phannies? i’m not really asking for myself i got into them in 2015 so i think i qualify as not new but i personally think of like 2019ish or later as new even though that’s like 4 years now 😭

there's layers of old but i think anyone who got here from 2019 onward will forever be a new phannie to me! i'm forever delighted by the fact that people are still discovering them but you simply have to have experienced the closeted era to truly count as an old timer and there's nothing that can change that!

i do think there's levels of fandom-age, too. like, original phillies who were around before dan & people who were around before the halloween leak of the vday vid in 2012, that's true phandom olds to me. there's a difference between the aftermath/radio show era, when i showed up, & the tatinof era once they'd settled in to the closet, but having been around in any regard at any of those points makes you some level of old timer.

the endpoint/turning point towards coming out was them moving out of the first london apartment & dan rebranding, so like, spring 2017 through the gaming channel hiatus is an era where like? if you showed up then you're not a newbie, you've been around the block, but it also doesn't qualify you as fandom old bc the horrors were mostly over by then.

none of that is coming from a place of pretentiousness or judgement either! just being honest that nobody escaped the trenches of the past unscathed.

June 2021. The experimental Minecraft series Triple Life SMP has just aired its finale and you're obsessed with the dynamic between the Minecraft YouTubers Benbog and Mars OfTheBigWaters.

Problem? The fandom still hates shipping. Solution? Start an underground Discord server to quarantine your shipping activities. To avoid being cancelled, you'd have to scour your social media to find potential members who are secretly open to shipping.

ABOUT

Bogwaters is a free, text-based, interactive fiction browser game. The game is a parody of the Third Life SMP fandom in mid 2021 that is focused on Treebark (the romantic ship between Rendog/Martyn InTheLittleWood) and its fandom relevance.

This is a demo version (prototype) meant to test the limits and feasibility of this game.

You play as the owner of a Discord server named Bogwaters. Your goal is to invite 4 people within 7 days, from June 1 to June 7.

This is the author's first interactive fiction game so it may be wonky. Constructive feedback is appreciated!

KICHEN 2Point0 Part 2

The 43-piece second half of the KICHEN 2Point0 focuses on appliances and clutter for your kitchens.

Of course, it's also time for another trip down memory lane to revisit the original Kichen & how it links back to this current iteration. All the items apart from the wishboner chair have been completely new ideas and meshes, however we wanted to try and capture some of our favourite elements from the original and reimagine them in our current styles. Way back in 2019 Harrie wasn't experienced in making new meshes from scratch, so many of the clutter items were mesh edits of EA items. For our first few collaborations, we would actually explore all of the EA items that we felt would fit into our theme, but with the Kichen 2Point0, we made all of the clutter items from scratch. It was so important for us to include new essential clutter pieces in this set as even to this day, we will often gravitate towards those original clutter items when building & we still spot them in many of your builds, too!

We have tried to cover all the appliances you need to bring this kitchen to life. Of course, with new EA functional items being added with new pack releases, we were also long overdue for a small appliance refresh that we haven't had in any of our other set releases. Highlights include the functional kettle (requires For Rent EP) and the mixer (requires Home Chef Hustle SP), but of course, we have also included decorative versions for those of you who don't have those packs.

Most of the items are Base Game compatible, except for the Mixer & kettle, as mentioned above, and can be found by searching the B/B catalog using the keyword 2Point0. As the items are designed for both of our current sets, they will also appear when you search using the keywords KLEAN or SOHO.

We can't wait to see what you do with the new items and how you bring them all to life in your game. As always, we would love it if you tagged us in your builds on social media.

paige is stretched out on her bedroom floor, scrolling through old usa camp photos, fingers hovering over azzi’s face in half of them. they’d just come back from those tournaments — still high on the idea of being unstoppable together — and she can’t shake it.

paige (6:18 pm):

still thinking about how we ran that backcourt last month.

you’d look even better in blue next year.

azzi (6:21 pm):

lol you’re relentless

you know it’s a huge decision

paige (6:22 pm):

i know

just say yes

come to uconn with me

we’d change the game

azzi leaves her on read for a minute. paige swore she saw her rolling her eyes through the phone.

azzi (6:26 pm):

i’m thinking about it. okay?

that’s the best i can do right now

paige grins, heart light, typing too fast.

paige (6:27 pm):

i’ll take it.

but i’m not gonna stop asking.

paige shows up on azzi’s doorstep with a duffel bag and the most chaotic grin, like she’s been waiting for weeks to pull this off.

“surprise,” she says, shifting on her feet, trying to look casual even though her heart’s hammering in her chest.

azzi blinks. “you are supposed to be social distancing, p.”

“i am,” paige insists, stepping closer, “with you.”

azzi tries to glare. and fails.

her lips twitch instead, and then she’s reaching for paige’s bag like it’s the most natural thing in the world.

“you’re staying?”

“yeah,” paige says, voice softer, suddenly more serious. “if it’s okay.”

azzi bites back a smile. “you’re lucky my mom likes you.”

they settle into a weird, warm rhythm. long mornings of zoom workouts, afternoons helping azzi’s brothers with their shots in the driveway, nights curled up side by side on the couch, too close to be just friends, yet too far to be anything more.

paige sleeps in the guest room, but half the time she ends up curled up beside azzi, claiming the wifi is better there.

azzi doesn’t call her out on it, because she likes having paige close. the quiet reassurance of hearing her breathe at night, steady and familiar.

one night, the news is buzzing about canceled tournaments, canceled everything. azzi’s scrolling through twitter, quiet, jaw tight. paige nudges her shoulder.

“hey,” she says, “we’ll be back. you know that, right?”

azzi nods, but doesn’t answer.

and then, so soft she almost doesn’t hear it,

“thanks for coming,” azzi says.

paige grins, leans in, bumps their foreheads together.

“always,” she murmurs. “where else would i go?”

they don’t say i love you. not out loud. they'll never say it out loud. but it’s there in every look, every late night talk on azzi's bed, every routine they build together in the middle of a world turned upside down.

but azzi still hasn’t committed to uconn. paige tries not to push. tries to pretend the waiting doesn’t hurt.

but every time azzi smiles at her, or lets their fingers touch on the couch, paige feels a quiet spark of hope, that maybe, eventually, azzi will follow her.

june 16, 2020

the air is sticky-warm, crickets chirping, the faint hum of traffic in the distance. paige is sat on the wooden steps, talking a mile a minute, hands flying.

“like seriously, az, think about it. you on the wing, me running point, that backdoor cut you do? unstoppable. nobody in the country could guard us. we’d break every record.”

azzi laughs, leaning against the railing, hugging her knees to her chest. she loves when paige gets like this, excited, dreaming out loud, wide-eyed with possibility.

“and the crowds,” paige keeps going, practically bouncing, “they’d go nuts. i mean, it’s uconn. they’d put our faces everywhere, az. we’d be legends.”

azzi bites her lip, heart twisting. because she wants to say yes. god, does she want to. every part of her wants that vision, them together, unstoppable, making history.

but she also feels the weight of it, heavy on her chest. the expectations. the pressure. the idea of being paige’s teammate, not her own player.

she stares at paige, taking in the messy blonde hair, the hopeful grin, the way she’s still rambling about championships and banners.

it makes something inside her ache.

“paige,” she says gently, cutting in.

paige stops, blinking, smile faltering a little. “what?”

azzi looks down at the floorboards, fingers digging into her sleeves.

“i’m… still thinking about it.”

paige deflates, just a bit, shoulders dropping.

“you’re still thinking?”

azzi nods, voice small. “i’m halfway there.”

paige laughs softly, trying to keep it light, but it sounds more like heartbreak.

“okay,” she says, forcing a grin. “halfway is better than nothing.”

azzi watches her go quiet, eyes turning out toward the dark street, and she feels the guilt settle in. because she knows paige deserves someone all in, someone who doesn’t hesitate.

but she can’t lie, she’s not there yet.

maybe she never will be.

but for tonight, she lets paige talk about buzzer-beaters and nets cut down, and she pretends she can believe it too.

paige is lying there in the dark, her heart going a million miles an hour, because in the morning she’s leaving for uconn. everything should feel electric, thrilling, but it doesn’t. there's something about the energy in the room that feels off.

azzi is across from her on the bed, back against the wall, arms pulled around her knees like she’s trying to fold herself in half.

paige can’t stand the silence anymore.

“so,” she blurts, forcing a smile, “you’ll visit, right? i mean, you’ll come up, see the gym, meet coach geno, cd, everyone—”

azzi doesn’t look up.

“paige.”

her voice is so soft it makes paige’s stomach twist.

“what?”

“i need to tell you something.”

paige laughs, light and shaky, trying to make it a joke. “you’re not pregnant, right?”

azzi’s face doesn’t change.

paige’s breath catches.

“what?” she repeats, sharper now.

azzi bites her lip, staring at the floor. “i’m going to louisville.”

the words crash over paige like a wave. her ears start ringing. she actually sways forward, like she might be sick.

“what?” she says again, voice breaking. “you’re what?”

azzi’s eyes shine with tears but she doesn’t look away. “i’m not going to uconn. i committed to louisville.”

paige scrambles to sit up, clutching the edge of the mattress. “no. no, you didn’t. you told me you were still thinking. you promised me you’d think—”

“i did,” azzi cuts in, crying now, shoulders shaking. “i did think. i thought about it every day, paige. but i can’t go with you.”

“why?”

the word is a razor in her throat.

azzi wipes at her face with the back of her hand, gasping for air.

“because i’m terrified,” she spits out, voice cracking. “i’m terrified of being just your shadow. i’m scared of being the second name, the second face, the one they only care about because she’s standing next to paige bueckers.”

paige flinches like she’s been slapped.

“how could you even say that?” she snaps, tears boiling over. “you are you, azzi. you are a superstar. you’re the best player i know. you think i’d let them treat you like that?”

“it’s not about what you’d let them do!” azzi fires back, voice ragged. “it’s about what they will do! about how i’ll feel every day watching you shine, wondering if there’s even space left for me!”

“we had a plan,” paige whispers, so quiet she’s shaking. “we promised, az. you and me. together.”

azzi’s chest crumples, a sob tearing out of her throat. “i know, i know, p. but i can’t. i can’t do it. i need to know who i am without you.”

paige feels like something is being ripped straight out of her ribs.

“so you’re just leaving,” she spits, voice raw. "what about us, az?“

azzi’s lips tremble. “i’m sorry.”

paige can’t breathe. “you’re sorry,” she repeats, numb. “you’re sorry.”

the silence swallows them both.

the room feels like it’s shrinking around her. the walls, the floor, the ceiling, everything pressing down until paige can barely breathe.

she watches azzi’s face in the blue light coming through the window, studies every inch like she’s trying to burn it into her mind. the curve of her jaw, the tiny crease between her brows, the way she’s always so peaceful when she sleeps.

it makes paige want to scream.

how can azzi sleep like that, knowing what tomorrow means? knowing she’s already said goodbye, even if neither of them used that word?

paige rolls onto her back, heart pounding so hard it rattles her ribs. she wants azzi to say something. anything. she wants her to whisper that she’ll change her mind, that she’ll follow her to uconn after all, that she’s sorry and she’ll stay.

but azzi doesn’t move. doesn’t say a word.

just breathes, steady and calm, while paige drowns three inches away.

she feels so far gone she doesn’t even care about holding her pride anymore. she’d beg, if she thought it would help. she’d drop to her knees, throw away every last bit of herself, if it meant azzi would be with her.

she should have told her the truth earlier, back before the shouting started, before they tore each other open. she should have admitted how scared she was to go alone, how she’d built every dream on the idea of them, never just her.

but she didn’t. she was too proud. too convinced they’d sort it out.

now it’s too late, and her throat is too tight to speak.

her chest aches like something’s clawing its way out.

it’s so unfair. how many times had she patched azzi back together? how many times had she given her everything, even when she was falling apart herself?

it feels like she loved azzi until there was nothing left, until she was dry, until she was more wound than girl.

and still, still—she would let her crawl back tomorrow if she asked.

because she loved her,

she knew azzi loved her.

yet they never admitted it to eachother, they couldn't.

her eyes blur with tears again. she blinks them away, tries to quiet the sob lodged in her throat.

it doesn’t work.

she shifts a little, close enough that their arms almost touch, and she stares at her, almost holding her.

if she touches her now, she knows she’ll break in half.

so she lies there, clammy and restless, the sweat sticking to her skin, her hands trembling against the blanket, waiting for a sign that will never come.

she wants to believe that maybe, someday, she’ll let azzi go.

that maybe she’ll look back and feel proud she didn’t try to hold on so tight.

but tonight?

tonight she can’t.

she lets the darkness close around them, and memorizes how her body feels beside hers, warm and familiar. the thought that it’s the last night they’ll ever share a bed—it’s a knife twisting right through her.

she presses her face into the pillow, biting it so she doesn’t make a sound, silently praying that azzi might wake up and change her mind.

but she doesn’t.

"If you can't beat the odds, change the game" from the book series "Six of Crows" by Leigh Bardugo. A fantastic read I highly recommend. a sticker design I made inspired by the character Kaz Brekker. (yes I'm aware that for most of the story he's a fan of gloves) It was interesting trying to work with a simpler style than I'm used to.

Jikook Week 78 Complete (03/06-11/06/2025)

Jikook have finalized their 78th week in the military and their release is imminent. On the outside I'm perfectly calm but inside...

....they are coming back to us and I know they are as pleased about that as we are. Big Hit says no press on 10th and 11th but surely they won't miss the chance to say hi on a live?

So this is the last one of these. I really can't believe I've had the discipline to keep it up without missing a week. So let's end with a big jikook year - 2019. They were on the European leg (London and Paris) of the extension of the Love Yourself Speak Yourself Tour which ended in Seoul in late October 2019. The two Wembley concerts were on 1st-2nd June.

JK went live after the concert on the second day. He talked about ARMY singing Young Forever to BTS and his reaction. There are a few of fancams of the moment and although all the members are clearly moved by the experience it isn't perhaps surprising that jikook are hit the hardest. Young Forever means so much to Jimin personally and JK has always been the ultimate lover of ARMY. They really are two sides of the same coin.

He goes on to tell ARMY about the gift he has prepared for them for Festa 2019 - the DJ Swivel Forever Mix of Euphoria.

He then has a prescient moment...

I mean what is AYS if not a cheeky mukbang?

He ended the live talking about how lucky he was that his parents had let him follow his own path, that there were people who loved him and that he had been able to follow his dream.

After the Wembley concerts BTS went on to Paris for two more concerts on 7th-8th June and then returned home to Seoul on 10th June. Here is Hobi sunshine with his sunshine brothers Suga and Jin at the airport.

Jimin really enjoyed his time in London. A group of his friends had come to see him perform and Jimin acknowledged them on Twitter, "Precious friends came to watch the show😊🙏🏼"

He and Jungkook were spotted out and about with them by fans.

Jimin mentioned it in his live with Namjoon on 6th June. He had been walking a little slower than the group just drinking in the sights and particularly the sounds of London.

He also posted these pictures on Twitter with the caption, "It was a truly precious tour I won't forget everything I received this time. Thank you very much"

What else did MiniMoni talk about on their live from Paris?

We found out that this live almost didn't happen because Jimin has stayed behind at the venue to practicing with Jungkook. I'm not sure that's what I would call this Mochi, my love.

Notice the extremely gentle scolding from their leader.

We found out that RM was having trouble writing and instead he had binge watched Mr Sunshine. Jimin on the other hand had been playing computer games with Hobi on tour.

They had a scary moment when Namjoon wondered if he spoiled the release of the BTS World OST (Joon really is the Mark Ruffalo of the BTS universe) but fortunately it was already on line. They then talk about Jin and how great he sounds on Dream Glow and Namjoon talks about helping him write the second verse to Tonight.

It's a live that hits on so many topics and really captures the era they were living through. Already experienced performers that came up from nothing with a treasure trove of shared memories and hints of the things that were to come. It's worth watching just for the boss baby method of English learning.

Let's end the post with a little bit of JK pre-Tik Tok days, lip syncing and dancing to Billy Eilish's Bad Guy. How does he do it? He's bopping around enjoying himself but still managing to hit a sexy cutie vibe. Wish I'd seen this before I did my JK Festa countdown. It would definitely have been included.

Good luck Jimin and Jungkook with whatever plans you are making post-military and I hope you get to continue to do that together, mutually admiring and supporting, creating a safe space for each other in which to learn and grow.

obviously we'll have to wait and see, but i've been eyeing the steamdb page for silksong since i heard that team cherry uploaded language packs for the achievements, and i figure it might be a good idea to show what i've watched be uploaded in that time, for those curious about silksong development stuff.

for anyone who wants to review this themselves, here is the link to the steamdb page for the game.

so that others dont have to go to the page to verify what i'll be talking about here, i will provide screenshots. it's all under the cut, but if you don't want to read it all,

tldr; team cherry has uploaded translation packages for achievements in ten different languages (viewable on the steam page), uploaded two game packages (one of which uses the official title, the other being noted for developer & publisher use), updated a time or two more without adding details, and updated compatible operating systems to include mac & linux (not updated on the steam page).

JUNE 3RD, 2025.

this was the translation package that restarted the silksong rumors! the steam page was updated to reflect the languages the game will be available in now, too, while steamdb specifically noted them to be achievement languages.

the added languages are brazillian portugese, english, french, german, italian, japenese, korean, russian, simplified chinese, and spanish.

but if you head to the packages tab, you'll see a total of three packages noted. the first two are the ones that were updated during this day.

i had to look this up, so just to explain the billing type,

CD & Store Keys are how a game is verified after purchase. its their way of confirming that okay, yes, you did buy the game, and this is your copy. theyre called CD keys, because when games were distributed only on CD keys years ago, it was on the CD itself.

nowadays, it's basically a confirmation of purchase upon installation.

SO. let's start with that top one. Steam Sub 342710 (link to package) is for developer and publisher use only. it has ten different CD keys, is licensed for single purchase, and is listed as having 0 available. i would speculate here, but i know fuck all about game development, and i'm not gonna give any false hope.

...though i do wanna point out that if you go into the history for that package it has been there since 2019, and based on how it talks about a release override and counting as always being owned, this definitely is a dev-use only package. anyway.

the other one, bearing the game's full name of Hollow Knight: Silksong (link to package), was actually updated like. twenty minutes before the other one. which unironically probably does not mean much, don't look too far into it, im giving you a timeline here. that's it.

this one has ten CD & Store keys, as opposed to only having CD Keys. i tried to look up the difference, but couldn't find anything. it's also only for single purchase, and is listed as having 0 available. it also has cross-region trading and gifting disabled.

there was one update on june 4th, and despite poking around, i couldn't figure out what the update was to. the changelog lists that there was an update, but it doesn't say what was changed. shrug.

starting out strong with. well. a repeat of june 4th, we have a listed update that i could not find a notable change from.

and then, thirty minutes or so later, the compatible operating systems list was updated! i'll be honest, i don't understand all of what's listed here, but i do understand that this is confirmation that silksong will be playable on windows, mac, and linux.

unfortunately, as of the time this post has been made, the steam page still has not been updated to reflect this compatibility update.

A character reference based on all four Steps of Our Life! It's only "sort of" a height reference as well since obviously they're not 100% accurate (the devs don't have specific heights for everyone to my knowledge).

I did dig into the code to try and get characters at their "normal" heights but there are other matters at play too (example: Nicolas is obviously "taller" than he should be because he needs to be pushed upwards to be visible enough above the game's text box; likewise with other very short characters).

Still, this should serve as either a nice reference guide for every character or a "height reference" in the sense of getting an idea of which characters are shorter/taller than others.

I'm also going to detail some extra notes below the break, including posts from GB Patch's Tumblr that reference any defined heights (with Cove being the obvious one) or general height things, as well as some more stuff about the MC's height in comparison to the three love interests depending on what you pick.

Cove's height is listed on GB Patch's FAQ as 4' 1" in Step 1 (also stated as "mostly average, perhaps a bit on the short side"), 5' 4" in Step 2 (in-game this is defined as "very tall" on the MC's potential height spectrum, as that is the only option considered on par with Cove's height), 6' 0" in Step 3, and 6' 4" in Step 4. A fun fact is that Cove's final height was originally 6' 3" (191cm) instead.

Derek in Step 2 is under five feet tall (this post also lists Cove as "around 5 and a half feet tall" which you could take as either close enough to 5' 4" as stated above or a potential original height he had that got changed). In-game, he's "short" but not "very short", as having your MC be "very short" will prompt narration telling you that you're shorter than Derek, whereas "short" only has you relate to him in smolness generally.

Step 4 Derek is "mostly average." He wouldn't be considered tall nor would he be considered short. His youngest brother Nicolas will "probably end up as a similar height to him" once he's more grown up.

Step 4 Baxter is "taller than average, but not especially tall."

I've been informed that, on the Our Life Patreon Discord, Step 4 Derek's height is listed as 5' 9" (175cm) whereas Step 4 Baxter's is listed as 5' 11" (180cm), so those are their defined heights. Before that, both of their heights had jumped around somewhat. A post from 2019 said that Derek was 5' 11", but a post from June 2021 said that Baxter was 5' 11" and Derek was 5' 9" (so consistent with the Discord). Then there's also another post from July 2021 (you'll have to scroll down for this one) that listed Baxter at around 5' 10" while Derek was 5' 8"/5' 9". If you're insane enough to try and use the character reference too, then Baxter would actually be around 6'1" at minimum since he's taller than Step 3 Cove (though you could also make the same argument that this means the mom trio of Pamela, Noelani, and Kyra must be decently tall as well since they're so close to Cove on the character reference).

I don't have any experience with GB Patch's other game, XOXO Droplets, so I don't know what ages the characters are in it, but since both Shiloh and Jeremy are characters seen visibly in Our Life, I thought I'd also mention that they're listed as 5' 10" and 5' 5" (or 5' 5 1/2") respectively in XOXO Droplets. Jeremy also apparently grows to 5' 8" in his 20s and he's 22 in the Our Life Cove Wedding DLC (I don't think this is spoken of in the game specifically but he's labeled as 22 in the code).

As for the MC and how their height plays into things, "tall" and "very tall" as well as "short" and "very short" tend to be considered the same for the most part in the game's code. It's not that there isn't a difference at all (I would say it's still notable), it's just that sometimes the game may be more vague about height differences. My post about Errands references this where you don't need more athletic points due to being "very short" instead of "short" to give Cove a piggyback ride.

A guesstimate I'd make is that about 5% of the time, the game will take note of whether you're "very tall" instead of "tall" or "very short" instead of "short." Otherwise, you're either "generally tall," "average," or "generally short." There are also other instances (usually with Cove) where the game might just check if you're either generally tall (around Cove's height) or not generally tall (i.e: definitely shorter than him).

This is actually relevant to the heights because, following all above information, one would assume that Step 4 Derek is average, Step 4 Baxter is tall, and Step 4 Cove is very tall going off the MC's potential "height spectrum" of very short, short, average, tall, and very tall, but it's not entirely the case.

A "tall" MC (generally tall) will look "down" at Step 4 Baxter just as he will look "up" at them or they'll look directly at each other if the MC is "average," same as Step 3 Baxter, but--

when the game has any instance of differentiating between "tall" and "very tall" (they never do this for Step 3 Baxter so the base assumption would have to be that he's just average height), things change.

During Baxter's apology in the wedding of his Step 4, Baxter dips his chin to look at the MC if they're "short"/"very short," levels his chin to look at the MC if they're "average"/"tall," and then lifts his chin to look at the MC if they're "very tall." A generally tall MC still has to lean down to kiss him if they choose to do so though.

Also, during the intimacy scene with Baxter (either in his office or his living room), if the MC is "very short," "short," or "average," it states that Baxter is taller than them. If they're "very tall," then Baxter is shorter than them, but a "tall" MC is "almost the exact same height" as him.

This is all a really long-winded way of saying that GB Patch referring to Step 4 Baxter being "taller than average but not especially tall" might mean that he's some infuriating middle ground between average and tall where he's not quite one but not quite the other either (which honestly is very Baxter of him so I can't even be mad).
