this is a historical au collab, so i will not accept any submissions based in the 21st century :) but it can go back as far as you want!

Also I bet Darrell Shannon and Raymond were the ones who begged Boxman for a pet until he finally made a dog out of scraps. He didn't want the dog at first but he quickly grew very fond of her (can you blame him look at those googly eyes)

Some random BSD headcanons because my old post about this is old

•Gin is really good with animals and young kids

•Atsushi is like a magnet for cats. He’ll walk outside and 80% of the time have at least one cat come up to him

•Ranpo has autism (tbh at this point so many people headcanon this that it could be considered fanon. Also this totally isn’t me projecting shhh)

•Yosano is good with kids

•When Dazai joined the agency, he bribed Ranpo into not revealing his backstory by buying him whatever snacks he wanted whenever he wanted

•Chuuya’s least favorite dog breed is the chihuahua solely because Dazai sometimes compared/compares him to one

•Poe was a theatre kid in high school but worked stage crew due to stage fright

•Dazai was super big into MCR when he was younger and still listens a fair bit now

•Dazai can’t care for plants. They will die in his care (me projecting because I killed a cactus by underwatering it)

Anyway they decided to give him a shot on the minecraft-callum case but he only figures it out when the ghost tells him they saw them at the old canin. Then the son comes to him later trying to convince him to get the police to reopen the case to set things right.

Im thinking Jazz is his Gus. She seems like the type to have a good grasp on reality but also maybe she would go along with this. She probably hates the police a bit so lets go make a fool of them. I mean they did her brother wrong as Phantom. Lets have a 16 year old super sluth. (Sorry shinichi kudo it’s Danny Fenton now)

Wait can danny be hired out as a private eye at the age of 16? God imagine how angry the cops would be when they find out he fucking bombed some of the tests. (I forget the test but Juliet and Carlton had been fighting over they scores when shawn said he got a 100 lmao)

chapter 3

Summary: Aunt Karen’s jacket is gray like the albatross’s wings; Molly likes it. She doesn’t like the tight careful way her voice comes out. It makes her feel like there are a lot of things that aren’t being said.

“About the MacIntyre case? She’s set to testify tomorrow.”

“I know,” says Uncle Gus, sounding like he knows a lot. Molly frowns, and looks into the office, and hugs her flashcards to her chest.

The People asked for an angsty one so i delivered! tried something different with this one by returning to my little kid pov roots!! not 100% on how it concludes but i think it captured enough of what i wanted to explore? ive always liked how rarely shawn and juliet fight in the show but i also wanted to play around w it a little bit. be gentle with me! enjoy <3

Molly kicks her legs in time with the clock on the wall. 

Tick tick tick tick tick tick tick. One two one two one two three four. Molly’s great at counting. She’s great at addition too. She can remember which number she started with in her head and what it looks like before she breaks it up to add to the next one. Ms. Delaney, her kindergarten teacher, says this makes her advanced for her age, which is a word she and Jay found once in Uncle Gus's old spelling bee workbooks. She likes it when the smaller numbers carry, like they’re jumping from one side of the bed to another. She likes to pretend that adding one number to another to make it bigger is kind of like two people making friends. Molly loves her friends. They are, in order, Junior; then Fish; then Yasmine from the other kindergarten class; then Mr. Snufalluffapus the stuffed elephant. When Jay, who is her best friend, is around, Molly feels bigger – and cooler and braver, and she has more fun than when she’s alone. She feels bigger and cooler and braver around Mommy and Daddy too, even though they’re Mommy and Daddy and so in a different category altogether.

She doesn’t like subtracting. Mommy tells her it uses the same part of her head to do it so it shouldn’t be scary, but she doesn’t like to see the numbers get smaller and break apart. It feels mean, or like she’s making them have a fight.

“— told you not to butt in on this case. Instead, that might actually be all you’ve been doing since the second it landed on my desk —“

“Jules, zero butts are involved in this situation! This is me, asking you –”

“You’re not asking, Shawn!”

One time when Molly was three, she and Jay had a fight. It was about Mr. Snufalluffapus; Molly was being self-fish (a word that makes her giggle because it’s got fish in it — Fish is so funny looking and cute all the time!) and she wouldn’t let Jay hold him.

“Uncle Gus?” Molly asks quietly, swinging her legs.

“What’s up, kiddo.”

“I think Fish is lonely.”
