2023: The Past, Present and Future of Chinese Economics
This article by Peking University Professor Yao Yang, calling for a greater focus on understanding Chinese domestic economic issues rather than theoretical issues reminds just slightly of the July 2023 article by Su Changhe, Dean of the School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Fudan University “China’s Autonomous Political Science Paradigm and Sharing it with the…

The Hezhe people 赫哲族 (also known as Nanai 那乃) are one of the smallest recognized minority groups in China composed of around five thousand members. Most live in the Amur Basin, more specifically, around the Heilong 黑龙, Songhua 松花, and Wusuli 乌苏里 rivers. Their wet environment and diet, composed of almost exclusively fish, led them to develop impermeable clothing made out of fish skin. Since they are part of the Tungusic family, their clothing bears resemblance to that of other Tungusic people, including the Jurchen and Manchu.
They were nearly wiped out during the Imperial Japanese invasion of China but, slowly, their numbers have begun to recover. Due to mixing with other ethnic groups who introduced the Hezhen to cloth, the tradition of fish skin clothing is endangered but there are attempts of preserving this heritage.

Although Hezhen clothing is characterized by its practicality and ease of movement, it does not mean it’s devoid of complexity. Below are two examples of ornate female Hezhen fishskin robes. Although they may look like leather or cloth at first sight, they’re fully made of different fish skins stitched together. It shows an impressive technical command of the medium.

The Nivkh people of China and Russia also make clothing out of fish skin. Like the Hezhen, they also live in the Amur Basin but they are more concentrated on and nearby to Sakhalin Island in East Siberia.

LONDON ADVENTURE
Joseph Quinn & female y/n
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Joseph spend the last days together before you head off to New York City!!
Content Warning: smut(18+), rpf, piv, making out, fluff
Part 9
You woke up next to Joseph in his bed in the morning. Silently you got up, went to the toilet and took a quick shower. The coffee machine in the kitchen was very complicated, it took you a while to figure out how to make a latte, but somehow you did it. With the coffee in your hand you sat down on the sofa and turned on the tv. About an hour of trash tv and some scrolling through social media later, Joe came out of the bedroom. The butterflies in your belly freaked out completely. Just seeing him made you that happy, you kind of felt sick and had to hold back tears.
“Morning love.”, he mumbled. He sleepily rubbed his eyes and walked over to you. “Morning.”, you smiled at him. “How are you?” “I´m fantastic, Joe. Somehow I woke up in your bed…” “Yes, love. Thought it might be more comfortable than the sofa.” He leaned down to press a kiss onto your mouth. Just him kissing you made you so turned on, you grabbed his shirt and pulled him on top of you. Your legs were spread beneath him, the only thing you wore was a pantie and a sleepshirt. You needed him. Right now.
You hungrily teared on his pants, pulled them down and threw off your panties as well. The kisses got wilder, more passionate, almost rough. Joe looked at you while you removed your clothes and bit his lip. He got hard in seconds. In wise foresight you had already laid some condoms on one of the side tables next to the sofa. Joe put one of them on and went straight back to kissing you. “What is my life?”, you sighed into his kiss. “I´m so lucky.”, he sighed back. Your hands cupped his cheeks and you looked into each other’s eyes for a minute. “I´m going in, okay?” You nodded.
It was easy for him to slide into you, you were pretty much dripping down on the sofa beneath you. Joe pushed in and out of you, while you became a moaning mess. You scraped Joes back, stuck between wanting to pull him closer but needing to hold on to something, because you could already feel your climax coming.
Meanwhile Joe added his finger on your clit again. He was very tender and harsh all at once. He moved his fingers up and down your slit but kept touching your clit once he realized what an effect it had on you. You arched your back and left some more marks on his. Joe was close too, you could feel it in the way his hips twitched while pushing into you. Both your knots snapped almost at the same time. The feeling was all-consuming, powerful; you let loose completely. Joe collapsed on top of you but quickly rolled off to lay next to you. Joe had definitely picked out his furniture with the main focus on comfort, there was plenty of space on the sofa. Joe entwined his arms around you and nestled his chin on your collarbone, while both of you still heavily breathed.
The next two days you spent a lot of time with talking, making out, talking, more sex. You did not try anything special, it was just him and you either in bed or on the sofa in missionary. You enjoyed every second of it, just feeling him close to you, you and Joe had a kink for kissing. In every possible moment you had your lips connected.
You talked about various stuff, Joe told you about his parents: His parents were divorced, his father got married again and had Joe´s little half-sister with his new wife. Most of his family lived in London and Liverpool, where his mom came from. Wesley was his best friend since his early school years, Joe showed you old pictures of him and his family and friends. You browsed through old photo albums and suddenly found yourself naked again, spread underneath him in bed or making out at the kitchen counter.
Occasionally Joes assistant called to tell you that your esta was accepted and you were able to come with him to New York. Joe cooked a pasta dish in the evening, made cocktails, while you went through more of his old stuff. On Sunday morning and a few machines of laundry later Joe finished packing his stuff for New York, the luggage just waited to be loaded into a car next to the entrance door of his apartment.
At 5pm you left the building, a car was waiting outside. The driver lifted the suitcases into the back of the car, you and Joe took the back seat. Joes assistant sat in the front seat and turned around to look at you: “Hi, I´m Maddie.”, she introduced herself to you and stretched her hand towards you. You shook it: “I´m y/n. Pleasure to meet you.” You were so excited and nervous.
You arrived at Heathrow on time, checked in and just an hour later you sat in an American Airlines plane in Business Class. Joe and you had seats together, it was like two little booths with your own tables, tv monitors and a lot of little extras like pillows, towels and more. It was pretty spacious for a plane seat. The flight attendant responsible for the Business class introduced himself to you and explained some stuff about the positioning of the seats, the operating of the monitor and where to find the toilet. You could not believe that you were actually on your way to New York City in a Business class seat with the man you had just spend the best days of your life. “Thank you, Joe.”, you whispered with tears in your eyes before you both took your seat. “Oh, babe. Thank YOU.”, he wrapped his arms around you and hold you very tight. He rubbed your back and pulled you in for a kiss. Your hands wandered up his back and rested in his curls. Grabbing his hair was another kink of yours. You realized there were some people starring at you once you let go of the passionate kiss you had shared with Joe. A little ashamed you took your seat and tried to figure out the seat.
Even though the flight attendant had explained it to you pretty obvious, you had already forgot everything about him due to your nervousness. As soon as you managed the seat, the plane departed from Heathrow and started his way straight to JFK- Airport in New York City. You were able to read some pages of the book you had thrown into your bag last minute. Joe hold on to your hand most of the time. His hand fell out of yours at some point, you gazed to him and discovered that he was sleeping. “Maybe I should sleep some time as well.”, you thought to yourself. The seat got into a straight mode, after you pushed one of the buttons next to you. The blanket and pillow were pretty comfy.
Some hours later you woke up. Joe sat next to you with your book in his hand. “Hi, love. Did you sleep well?” Joe smiled at you and stroked your cheek. “Mmmh.”, you nodded, still really tired from the long nap. “We´ll arrive in about twenty minutes, love.” You looked at the monitor in front of you, the digital plane on the map was somewhere between Boston and New York City. The last minutes of the flight you just tried to become more awake, the nap you took was not really empowering. The plane landed at JFK, Joe and you left your seats hand in hand. The last 7 hours had just gone by so fast, you could not believe you were about to breath New York City. Outside there was a taxi waiting for Joe, Maddie and you. It took you straight through Queens over the Harlem River into Manhattan. The buildings got higher and higher every minute during your drive. You arrived at the Mark Hotel about four hours after you had left the plane. Immigration took a long time at the airport, several computers stopped working during the process, so you had to wait almost two hours at the counters.
The Mark Hotel was a beautiful building, on the other side of the street there was an art gallery. A concierge took all of your luggage, while Maddie checked you in at the reception. She came over to you and handed Joe two key cards for the room: “You are on the 8th floor, I´m at the third. I´ll pick you up tomorrow at 11 am, Joe. We have the Buzzfeed interviews and video shoots at 12 pm, we have plenty of time to get there.” Joe nodded with a small-lipped face. He looked concentrated. “I wish you both a good night, you should get some sleep!” Maddie smiled at both of you and signed off. The lift in the lobby took you up to the 11th floor. Everything else you were able to remember was the enthusiasm you had when you walked first into the spacious hotel room, when you got ready for bed and dozed of immediately.
To be continued…

Wang Yibo?
