#Johnica week 2021

It’s finally here! After a six-month wait, Chapter Seven (the final chapter) of my fanfic, “Whatever This World Can Give to Me”, is finally available now for your reading pleasure on Archive Of Our Own (AO3)!  

 (Those of you who only read completed fics can now read this one!) 

 Because this final chapter ended up being extremely long (18,801 words), I divided it into two parts to make it easier to read. I decided to publish both parts at the same time because you deserve it after waiting 6 months for an update, and also because this began as a Johnica Week 2021 fic, so I wanted to have it completely published in 2021.  

This chapter sees Queen on the NOTW Tour performing in Houston and traveling to Las Vegas and enjoying some time off before their next show. There is also some father-son bonding time between Robert and John and a band-only dinner that reveals some surprises!

I want to thank everyone who has read this over the past 11 months, will read it now that it’s finished, or will read it in the future. This fic has been 15 months in the making, from first coming up with the idea to publishing this last chapter, and your support means a lot. This fic has been a constant during a hard year, and writing it gave me something positive to focus my energy on when there wasn’t always much positivity in my life. I can’t believe it’s finally finished, but I’m really proud of myself for seeing it through from idea to published, completed fanfic. 😊

Yes, I know, this song is by Roger but I think I can borrow it for this occasion, can I? It's such a beautiful love song and it fits a lot... 💕

I really want to wish them all the happiness in this world, despite it's a difficult situation right now, and I hope they're safe and taking care of each other as always. Thanks for being such an inspiration for me and for many of us 💖💖💖 (Look at me struggling to find the right words hahah I feel so dumb 😅😭💖)

The last one is a small video timelapse, aka the struggle is real- the photo I used as reference is of the Carmelite church in Kensington, where they got married 😚💕 Oh how I wish there was at least one public photo of their marriage 😢💖💕💜💖💕💜

Johnica Week 2021 - Day 2: Japan! 💖

Ah, I love Johnica in Japan so much 😭 In 1985 during a tour John flew to Japan a week earlier than the rest of the band and Veronica joined him for a lil vacation, it was her first time there. I really love to imagine them visiting temples, seeing the cherry blossoms and relaxing in an onsen! 😍

...And Some Cool Clothes

I wrote this for Johnica Week 2021, hosted by @eileen-crys.

I chose to combine the prompts “tight clothes” and “pregnancy” as well as a genderbent au because I thought it would be interesting to explore a familiar part of John’s life from a different perspective.

“Augh!” Joan cried in frustration.  “Damn these pants!”

No matter how she tried, the bassist just could not get her white satin trousers to zip.  She knew that this day was coming, she just hoped that she would be prepared when it did.  And yet here she was, about to go on stage with no pants to wear.

It seemed like just yesterday that she found out that she was expecting.  She had been feeling sick for a little over a week, which she assumed was just the flu.  But then she missed her period, leading to the purchase of several pregnancy tests and two very nervous people.  When they all came back positive, her boyfriend Ron had tried to be supportive, but no amount of reassurance could hide the fact that he was just as scared as she was.  Not that she expected him to react calmly to the news that she was having a baby.  Although, it was nice to know that he wasn’t going to just pack up and abandon them.

Her anguish got the attention of her bandmate Regina.

“What’s wrong?” the drummer asked.

Johnica Week 2021 - Day 6: Playing with the kids/on holiday 💖

Not me repeating to myself to keep the drawings simple and then filling it with people 😅👌🏻 I really loved drawing this tho, inspired by the photos of John and his family in the South American tour '81! 💖💜💕💖💜💕 Maybe not my best entry for the week and I could've done it better, but I'm stil kinda proud, specially of the kids 🤧💖

My entry into Johnica Week 2022, “Alone in His Hotel Room”, is here! This is a oneshot fic based on the prompt “Comfort After a Terrible Day”, plus one of the bonus prompts from the “Hurt and Comfort” category, slightly adapted to my style. 

In this fic, Queen are on the U.S. leg of their News of the World Tour in December 1977, and they have just finished playing their first of two shows at Madison Square Garden. John leaves the after party early because he endures a sudden wave of old grief for his dad brought on by seeing Brian reconcile with his dad after the show, and he hopes a phone call home will help ease his sorrow. 

⚠️Content Warning: Mind the AO3 tags! This fic deals with heavy, sensitive subjects; namely grieving a long-deceased parent and feelings of grief, loss, resentment, and homesickness, and I made myself cry writing and editing it. There is comfort during the second half of the fic and an implied happy ending, but if these topics are too upsetting for you, feel free to skip this one.
