Here’s my shot of Edward Norton from the US Premiere of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”. Edward’s Glass Onion character Tech billionaire Miles Bron has been compared to billionaire Elon Musk in the press recently but more interesting is his claim to direct lineage to Pocahontas. ZUMA Press and Alamy both posted my shot of Edward Norton with the title commentary, “American actor EDWARD NORTON has discovered that the real-life Pocahontas, the romanticized and mythologized 17th century daughter of a Native American chief, is his 12th great-grandmother. The Oscar-nominated star learned of his family connection to the woman who married Virginia settler John Rolfe on Tuesday's episode of the PBS genealogical history show 'Finding Your Roots.' Historian and host Henry Louis Gates Jr. confirmed the longstanding family rumor to be fact, telling Norton: 'You have a direct paper trail, no doubt about it, connection to your 12th great-grandmother”. Pretty amazing! @zumapress #zumapress @knivesout @alamyeditorial @edwardnortonofficial #edwardnorton #flightclub #americanhistoryx #findingyourroots @henrylouisgates #pocahontas #johnrolfe @academymuseum #academymuseum (at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnBGiDXLxWG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

So I watched some of MxDisney 2018 and... THESE TWO ARE SO ADORABLE! I prefer to edit CGI but I just had to add these two.
Marco (lambydance) and Lucian (virisdescent) have stolen my heart and made watching that year’s competition enjoyable to watch. Gotta love a new pair of space gays!

ARCHAEOLOGY - Discovering the World’s Secrets: The Americas “Historic Jamestowne” - POCAHONTAS. You might think that #pocahontas was a legend - but not only did she exist, hers is also a genuine tale of crossing cultures. A member of the indigenous Powhatan tribe, the real Pocahontas brought food to the first, starving settlers of #jamestown ; and by marrying one of them, #johnrolfe , she also effected an uneasy peace. When she was 21, Pocahontas visited England where she met #kingjamesii - and contracted the tuberculosis that killed her. #ushistory #powhatanvirginia #nativeamerican #england🇬🇧 https://www.instagram.com/p/CLsrLGLLVC-/?igshid=11f9xg0xbd8o8

Yesterday I did a commission for a friend! It's for John Rolfe from Pocahontas 2 to be worn at D23 this weekend. I left the sideburns a little long so they can trim it after seeing how it fits, but I love making these ostentatiously big bangs!! Wig is a Chocolate Brown Luthien from @ardawigs _________________ #zephyrmakesthings #wig #wigcommission #arsastyle #wigstyle #bigbangs #luthien #chocolatebrown #ardawigs #commission #cosplay #disney #disneycosplay #d23 #d23expo2017 #pocahontas #pocahontascosplay #johnrolfe #johnrolfecosplay #pocahontas2 #pocahontas2cosplay

Guerres Anglo-Powhatans

"All must die, but tis enough that her child liveth", these were the last words of Pocahontas, born Matoaka from the tribe Tsennacommacah. Today is the annyversary of her death happened in Gravesend, Kent the 21st of March 1617. I found out about this anniversary few day ago visiting one of my fave places in London, The National Portriat Gallery where I manage to shoot this photo of her portrait. Interesting story, so far but so similar to the romantic version heard through the years, there are some many questions about her life and her relationship with John Smith and John Rolfe (but yeah, they actually existed), what is clear is that at some point she got the Baptism taking the name of Rebecca, thanks to that the conflict between English and Native American seen a stop called "Pocahontas Peace". Around her portrait is possible to read "MATOAKA ALS REBECCA FILIA POTENTISS : PRINC : POWHATANI IMP:VIRGINIÆ", which means: "Matoaka, alias Rebecca, daughter of the most powerful prince of the Powhatan Empire of Virginia". #pocahontas #nativeamerica #matoaka #anniversary #death #die #dead #story #history #fact #facts #400 #years #400years #war #peace #johnsmith #johnrolfe #princess #disney #true #truestory
