Apparently Don Bluth did not intend for Dimitri to be sexy. I have read this quote: "[Bill Mechanic] said 'Let's make a guy that's not very good looking, just an everyday guy.' So we broke his nose a little bit, and took his hair and let it hang down any old way, so it gets kind of messy... we took all the muscles off of him. What he has to do is function with his brain." Ok so I just rewatched Anastasia and... is it just me, or was an actual antagonist kind of unnecessary? I mean, you have the goal, you have the characters, you have the conflict. Rasputin and Gleb did a few things to move the story along, and that was it.

"Did you stick to the plan?"

Anya huffs, smilingly dangling up a gold-plated pocket watch. The exact one Dimitri saw a old wealthy man tucked away in his coat.

"How do you think us poor little orphans managed in life?" she sasses. "Being good girls?" Dimitri half-listens, his eyes widening. Worth much more than a couple rubles and tickets for a boat definitely.

He happily hums, reaching for Anya's prize. "I could kiss you..."

Anya makes a face, sticking out her tongue in exaggeration, but her cheeks visibly flush. She pulls from Dimitri's hand eagerly clasping onto the pocket watch, making Dimitri narrow his eyes gloweringly.

"No thanks."
