âLiving with Uncertaintyâ By Bible Love Notes:
âUncertainty is a powerful emotion, causing frustration, discouragement, and confusion.
Covid was a perfect example, affecting employment, education, finances, relationships, and travel. But many other things in life bring with them just as many uncertainties.
God understands and encourages us:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
Pray about everything...everything!
Pray with thanksgiving.
Expect peace that isnât based on understanding.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
As we walk into our future, letâs remember the words God said to Joshua when he entered the many unknowns of the promised land:
âHave I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.â âJoshua 1:9

Words Matter. Read These and See If You Don't Agree
Read every word of this quote, and see if it sounds sane, or crazy. âJesus said, âI am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, but by me.'â (John 14:6, NIV) This short statement is amazingly full, and itâs worth challenging. Itâs also worth considering. Depth Not Length First of all, consider the first two words: Jesus SAID. The spoken word is incredibly important in theâŚ

"I'm Not Good Enough" is Only One of the Lies
âIâm not good enoughâ is only one of the lies we tell ourselves. Moreover, this is what I told myself most of my life along with other lies like âYouâre not good enoughâ, âYouâll never amount to anythingâ, âYouâre too fatâ, âYouâre not pretty enoughâ, and the like. What Lies Do You Tell Yourself? I guess the point that Iâm trying to make is that these are lies. So, why did I continue to believeâŚ

The Price of Forgiveness
Forgiveness comes at a price. Though it may be offered freely to the offender, it always costs the giver something. The word âforgiveâ translates the Greek verb aphiemi (áźĎὡΡΟΚ), which means to let go, cancel, send away, or pardon. Forgiveness refers to the act of releasing someone from a debt or offense without demanding payment or retribution. For example, in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus told aâŚ

The Hope of Christmas
Introduction As we enter the season of Advent, we often find ourselves surrounded by messages of hope. Itâs in the lights decorating our homes, the songs playing in stores, and even in the wishes of good cheer exchanged between neighbors. But what exactly are we hoping for? Upon what are we placing our hope? Is your hope anchored in something lasting or something fleeting? Take a moment toâŚ

âHidden but Not Hiddenâ By Bible Love Notes:
âPsalm 119:11 says: âI have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.â
In this verse, hidden doesn't mean concealing God's Word. It means storing it up and treasuring it in our hearts.
If you read all 176 verses of Psalm 119, you'll discover many ways that the psalmist hid God's Word in his heart. For example:
Psalm 119:9-16: âHow can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. 10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. 12 Praise be to you, LORD; teach me your decrees. 13 With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. 14 I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. 15 I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. 16 I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.â
In these verses, the psalmist hides God's Word by:
1. Obeying it â verse 9. âBut donât just listen to Godâs word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and donât obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and donât forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.â âJames 1:22â-âŹ25 (NLT)
2. Seeking God in it â verse 10. âBut seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.â âMatthew 6:33 (NKJV)
3. Studying it with the Spirit's help â verse 12. âBut the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.â âJohn 14:26 (NKJV)
4. Reciting it â verse 13. âLet the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.â âColossians 3:16 (NLT)
5. Enjoying it â verse 14. âThe commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.â âPsalm 19:8 (NLT)
6. Meditating on it â verse 15. âFinally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthyâmeditate on these things.â âPhilippians 4:8 (NKJV)
7. Spending time regularly in it â verse 16. âââStudy and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth.â â2 Timothy 2:15 (AMP)
Are you âhidingâ God's Word in your heart?â

John Wrote, "In Him Was Life". But, Was It REALLY? It's an Eternal Question
I said a couple of days ago that the three I AM statements in John 14:6 built upon one another, and today we come to the final one: âI am the lifeâ. Letâs start by remembering Johnâs testimony about Jesus. Of the baby born in Bethlehem, John said, âIn him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.â (John 1:4-5, NIV) MenâŚ

"PRACTICE SPIRITUAL WARFARE FOR YOUR MARRIAGE"
If I were to choose the most important thing as the key that has kept my marriage united and healthy, I would have to say it is loving my husband and family more than myself and practicing spiritual warfare EVERY DAY! Since we are spiritual beings, we cannot direct our combat against a human person. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, âFor the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh andâŚ

Nobody Cares. Period.
I said this to my daughter once.
That was a mistake, even though mostly true. Because I really did care, and I don't think she quite picked up that I wasn't talking about myself but of the World - "Out there".... However, even so, nobody else would have listened to either of us - her or me regarding her problem. That's why she was telling me about it, and I was helpless. It had to do with school, and interpersonal relationships, and I knew from experience that bullies don't care what others feel. It is completely beyond them - whether school administrators who were the problem, the garden variety playground bully who was the other problem, or corporate managers who were my most recent problems - nobody cares.
I think it might have been one of the things that damaged, broke even, our special father-daughter relationship - that failure to make clear that I didn't include myself among the 'nobody'.
Nevertheless, it's true. We live in a society where caring is institutionally useless, dangerous even. Nobody cares.
My family isn't rich or powerful. We don't give large amounts of money to prominent organizations or peddle influence to get friends and acquaintances into positions of wealth or power. We are nothing. We are representative of the nothings that have built pretty much everything that has defined every civilization since the dawn of man, while the credit has gone to our more powerful and connected superiors. Our Kings, Emperors, Caesars, and CEOs.
Nobody cares except God. He cares.
Scoff.
Feel free.
I believe in a God who so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him would have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
People get bogged down in details - what does "believe" mean, what about people who don't know to "believe", etcâŚ
All nonsense.
"âŚthe righteous will answer him, âLord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?â
âThe King will reply, âTruly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.â (Matthew 25:37-40)
Also,
"Not everyone who says to me, âLord, Lord,â will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21)
Some scoff at the idea of an "invisible Church".
Fine.
Scoff.
God will know his own.
"Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them." (Romans 2:14-15)
And the rest?
Well, there's the river of fire, the lake of fire⌠There's other imagery that various Christians use, some Biblical, some from Dante, some images come from other sources. But at the end of the day those who did not, or do not care, their self-absorbed entitlement, their narcissism, will be all they have to cling to in whatever future there is.
I believe that because of Christ's work on the cross, the infusion of divinity into the human condition, these people will live for eternity in the tatters of their self importance. Others believe in a different outcome. It really doesn't matter. None of it is good.
None of it will be punitive, as in, a transgression of a moral law, but will be entirely based upon the orientation of an individual's heart (Deuteronomy 30:6).
Our role on earth is to care as Christ did, when no one else will.
That's what makes Christianity so radical.
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." (James 1:27)
