And the first audio engineer regarded an artist and to use the studio as an instrument, basically coming up with the idea of an audio effect! And invented space age music! And sneaked the first openly queer reference into pop music! And started the British Invasion! And is arguably the single most influential person in modern audio engineering and, and, and….

I'm often asked why I don't post more songs by TV legend Dick Emery so I've had to finally give in to the demands with this 1963 cover. I never realised that he was such a strong singer.

While this song ended up on a B-Side for Dick there were previous versions by singers John (The Great Escape) Leyton and Don Charles and it was written by 'Robert Duke', a name used by the troubled producer and songwriter Joe Meek.
