Today, Loki wanted to share an oracle message with you from the Viking Oracle deck. Today's oracle message is the rune card Mannaz.

Mannaz is the rune of "mankind". The rune of the person, the self, community, the greater good, rationality and mental development.

You are important. By this, I mean both personally and as part of the community, and the species. This is true even if you live amongst those that don't acknowledge this. We are all part of an interconnected web and what each of us does affects all. Now is a good time to look at yourself in terms of where you stand with and how you interact with the community, your species, the divine, the greater "whole". This seems overwhelming and you may feel small when doing so, and this is natural. However, what each of us does affects the whole... indefinitely (this too can be overwhelming, and is a discussion for another time)... This doesn't mean you should hesitate to do what is important to you, and you are, after all, very important.

Now might also be a time to consider where you stand with yourself. That can be complicated too, if you're being honest with yourself. After all, some of our greatest conflicts come from within. And what about the work you do on and for you in terms of mental and spiritual development? This also is part of the energy of Mannaz.

So, as you go into the day/weekend/coming week (this message is timeless, after all), consider reflecting on your connections with the yourself, the community, and the "whole" (including the divine). Can you look at life both personally and collectively? Remember that what you do affects you, irrevocably and indefinitely, and what you do affects all. Keep this in mind as you consider your needs and the needs of others.

Note: All of my readings for clients are done with the Morgan-Greer Tarot in a Tin (see above).This is a “travel deck” about the size of standard playing cards. The imagery and symbolism is very similar to the classic Rider-Waite deck, but with some additional Wiccan/Neopagan themes.  

Single Card Reading ($2 USD)

This spread consists of a single card containing the information regarding your question that is most relevant/helpful to you at this time. This card often reveals a theme or insight that enables you to better understand the situation at hand. For this reason, this spread works best with open-ended questions.

For this reading, you and I will work together to come up with the right question to ask the cards. I will pull a single card, which will provide a broad overview of the situation.

Price: $2 (USD)

Info I will need from you: your preferred name and pronouns, the personality descriptor you think best describes you (whether that’s your star sign, Myers-Briggs type, Hogwarts house, or a short written description), and what it is you want to ask the cards.

What you will receive: a photo of your reading and a detailed, written interpretation of the cards. 

Basic Three Card Reading ($5 USD)

This spread is similar to the single card spread, but allows for a more detailed and in-depth look at the situation. 

For this reading, you and I will work together to come up with the right question to ask the cards. I will then pull three cards, which when read together will provide an answer to your question. 

Price: $5 (USD)

Info I will need from you: your preferred name and pronouns, the personality descriptor you think best describes you (whether that’s your star sign, Myers-Briggs type, Hogwarts house, or a short written description), and what it is you want to ask the cards.

What you will receive: a photo of your reading and a detailed, written interpretation of the cards. 

Past/Present/Future Reading ($5 USD)

This spread examines the past energies that are influencing you, the energy of the present situation, and the MOST LIKELY future outcome based on your present course of action. (Keep in mind that the future is never set in stone, and that you always have the chance to avoid an unwanted outcome by changing your actions.)

Instead of asking a question, you and I will discuss your situation and will ask the cards to provide insight. I will pull one card to represent past influences, one card to represent the present issue, and one card to represent the most likely outcome.

“The Metaphysical Snapshot” — Five Card Spread ($7 USD)

This spread is an expansion of the past/present/future reading that takes into account outside influences that may be affecting your situation — both those that uplift, and those that drag us down. This is the ideal spread for really taking apart a situation and looking at its independent parts, and is perfect for helping you make an informed decision for your own highest good.

Once again, you and I will discuss your situation and will ask the cards for insight. For this reading, I will pull one card to represent past influences, one card to represent the present issue, one card to represent the most likely future outcome, one card to represent positive/helpful forces at work in the situation, and one card to represent negative forces at work in the situation.

Price: $7 USD

Info I will need from you: your preferred name and pronouns, the personality descriptor you think best describes you (whether that’s your star sign, Myers-Briggs type, Hogwarts house, or a short written description), a brief written description of the situation you want to examine.

What you will receive: a photo of your reading and a detailed, written interpretation of the cards. 

Extras and Add-Ons

These are extras that you can add to the basic three card reading, the past/present/future reading, or the metaphysical snapshot reading. Add-ons are not available for one card readings.

Oracle of the Angels ($1 USD per card): The Oracle of the Angels (by artist Mario Duguay) does not deal with the energy of specific named angels, but instead with the love and light that the angels represent. Each beautifully illustrated card deals with a specific theme (for example: “Believe in Dreams,” “Inner Child,” or “Awakening”) that can give your reading an additional layer of insight/guidance. 

Recommended for: readings dealing with spirituality, spiritual growth, mental health, and healing. 

The Divine Feminine Oracle ($1 USD per card): The Divine Feminine Oracle (by author Meggan Watterson and illustrator Lisbeth Cheever-Gessaman) is one of my favorite tools for connecting with and exploring Goddess energy. This deck contains 53 cards, each dedicated to a goddess, saint, or holy woman. This is one of the most diverse Goddess/Divine Feminine decks I have found, with everything from Greek goddesses, to Christian and Muslim saints, to Taoist mystics. Each card has an accompanying meditation prompt to help you really connect with the energy of that goddess.

Recommended for: anyone looking to connect with the Divine Feminine within themselves, regardless of how you identify.

The Halloween Oracle ($1 USD per card): The Halloween Oracle (by author Stacey Demarco and artist Jimmy Manton) is inspired by the traditions and folklore surrounding Halloween, All Hallows’ Eve, and Samhain. This deck combines timeless pagan symbolism with modern pop culture to create a fun, spooky deck that still gives surprisingly deep and meaningful readings. This is a deck that I love and enjoy using year-round.

Recommended for: shadow work readings, readings relating to your witchcraft/magick path, and anyone who loves Halloween!

So, I've begun work on a painting I have been wanting to work on for a while. Loki and Lucifer are both interested in the painting/style. So We decided that one could be made for each Their art journals.

We're starting with some glossy black paint black today, and I will post a detail shot from each. I'm also including a card pull from Lucifer and Loki. I'll try to post both messages in the same post because this just makes sense. Loki chose a rune card, and Lucifer chose a demon card. And the cards...Wow...I love this. And I love Them!

Anyway, the card Loki chose was Jera. Jera is associated with harvest, the rewards reaped after long, patient effort. What are you reaping? Well, obviously that depends on what you sowed. And that applies in every area of your life. And that isn't a criticism, simply a matter of cause and effect. A natural cycle. And, speaking of cycles, Jera is also associated with a cycle coming to a close, including the preparation for winter and spring. So Jera is a celebratory rune and a rune tied to the cycle of life and death. So, you are celebrating a "harvest" and/or a cycle in your life is coming to a close. While you are celebrating, remember to prepare for the new beginnings coming in the "spring".

And...

The card Lucifer chose is Eurynome. Eurynome is known as the prince and death and is reputed to feed on corpses. These images are shown to celebrate rune and norse mythology artwork within The Viking Oracle. 

The Viking Oracle Cards is a set of 44 cards created by Stacy Demarco and Jimmy Manton published by Blue Angel (Australia) in February 2017. The deck is currently available for purchase.

The highly stylised oracle deck contain images depicting runes of the Elder Futhark with Gods and Goddess of the North Europe inspired by Viking-era history.

There are 12 female, 11 male, 14 objects, and eight rune designs that make up the artwork for the deck.
