Yesterday was the martyrdom of Bhai Taru Singh Ji, who was a brave Sikh supplying fellow Gursikhs with food and shelter during the time of Mughal control. After the Mughals found out his doings, he was scalped. We cannot forget the sacrifice of Bhai Taru Singh, please honor him. (at Sikh Society Of Madison, Wi)

We found this poster in one of our Wisconsin Gurdwaras. A couple of members have been asking if it was as mandatory for a Sikh woman to wear a turban like a Sikh man. ~ Because men and women should be treated equal, shouldn't it be mandatory for both to wear a turban? Comment below for a well deserved discussion. (at Sikh Society Of Madison, Wi)

One of the most impactful issues that Sikhs face today on an international level is acceptance. Sikhs are spread all over the world, and whether it be Canada, or the United States, we face discrimination. We cannot forget the Oak Creek shooting in Wisconsin only 4 years ago. Sikhs need to educate the public about who we are and what we believe in order to trump ignorance. So what can Sikhs do in their own communities to solve such issues? Comment below to start a well deserved discussion. (at Sikh Temple of Wisconsin)

Gatka, a traditional form of combat-training the Sikhs used to train. Thousands of Sikhs in the past have used this method to ensure peace, and we should honor it today. (at Sikh Society Of Madison, Wi)

What will happen to the next generation of Sikhs who will represent Sikhi? Will they be better off? Today, Sikhs hold many values close and dear to their hearts, and we need to make sure the next generation feels the same. We need to instill the dedication of so many Sikhs today into its youth. @sikhxel (at Sikh Society Of Madison, Wi)

Question of the day: How do you make time for Sikhi everyday? If not, how can you? Comment below your advice. After surveying and asking this question to Sikhs at our local Gurdwaras, we are starting to see a pattern for one of the reasons Sikhs in America are losing their dedication to Sikhi. The main reason was time. The majority of Sikhs we asked said they did not have time to do Gurbani, go volunteer, or go to a local event. How can we fix this? (at Sikh Society Of Madison, Wi)

Our team believes that the best way for us to understand Sikh values online is to go out on our own and to discover new sites on the web we probably didn't know about. There are other accounts dedicated to showing Sikh values that aren't on Instagram. We encourage y'all to not only be on Instagram, but to also go on YouTube, Facebook, and more. Amazing organizations such as the @basicsofsikhi, and more are out there for you to discover. There are tons of national organizations such as the Sikh Coalition, and the Sikh Research Institute which we are only a click away from discovering. Luckily, Sikhxel will work towards finding all of these organizations and making them easy to access. (at Explore India)

To commemorate the anniversary of Bhai Mani Singh's martyrdom, we would like to share some facts about Bhai Mani Singh's life. Bhai Mani Singh was brought to Guru Tegh Bahadur and stayed long after Guru Gobind Singh became the Guru. During his time he was a scholar, and compiled the Dasam Granth which includes Bani of Guru Gobind Singh. After being appointed the Granthi of Harmander Sahib, Bhai Mani Singh restored peace among the Khalsa and put necessary affairs in order to ensure longevity for Sikhi. #sikh #sikhi #sikhism #justice #dedication
