I made a playlist of walking tours through (mainly) Jiangnan water towns to let run in the background while I write, and I thought other people might have a use for it, too.

for some reason Ye Sheng calling Sakatoku Aki "not very smart, but good at following orders" then confessing and kissing her couple of scenes after feels so much more insulting and disturbing than Ruri calling Kogure stupid while being clearly shocked just learning she's dead. In fact, I'm so progressively pissed off thinking about it (and about how Mai first mentioned her to Caesar) so in future I might try to develop her character and bg to be thoughtful and insightful but extremely suppressed and write some alternative plot fic having Sheng calling her smart eventually, just out of rage about this. And also in process probably having them both survive but thats secondary
