Ford and 9/11

This is such an overdone joke but genuinely who told Ford, and how long did it take somebody to tell him? Did people just forget to tell him anything that happened in the 30 years that he was gone? We know at some point somebody told him about 9/11, but did anybody tell him about Obama or The Challenger?

That begs another question: How does Ford find out? Because you'd think that Stan would tell him, but what I think would be more likely is Wendy makes a 9/11 joke (she seems like the kind of person, I don't know how to describe it) and Ford is just so utterly confused, and concerned. So somebody has to go through the painstaking process of explaining how "They hit the FUCKING PENTAGON!" I also like the idea of Stan and Ford visiting Jersey and just not seeing the towers anymore, and Ford is like "Where.. where are they, Stanley? Where did they go..?!" Realistically though, Stan likely just sat him down and told him. Funnier solution: Mabel makes a glittery presentation and picture of the plane hitting the towers.

And how long did it take for them to tell Ford? Well, seeing as the show takes place and ends on August 31st. 9/11's anniversary hadn't happened yet. So, I can see Stan sitting Ford down ON 9/11 to teach his good ol' brother a lesson on terrorist attacks.

Tate Pines AU: Stan's Lowest Moments

So one of Stan's Lowest Moments include His Birthday the year before he met Dipper and Mabel: No one came to "Mr. Mystery's Mystery-Age Party and Used Wolf-Pelt Sale"

In this AU, Stan has a slightly better relationship with Soos (he definitely isn't projecting the unconscious loss of his son onto him or anything, no that'd be ridiculous), and he also has a friendly relationship with Tate. And an seething-disdain-on-his-side and admiring-from-a-distance-on-the-other-side relationship with Fiddleford; so Soos, Tate, Fiddleford, and Wendy (being dragged by Soos) end up going to Stan's birthday party. Which Stan appreciated a lot, but he'll never admit that out loud.

He was still prickly toward Fiddleford, but forced himself to not be outright rude to him. Fiddleford made him a small metal figurine of a sad clown as a gift. Which Stan told him he would chuck into the lake once the party was over (he still has it).

However, in replacement of this there is another lowest moment; The ER visit where he found out he was 7-months-expecting Tate: the same visit where he also found out Tate was supposed to be a twin.

They should have realized that Weirdmageddon would attract attention outside the boundaries of Gravity Falls. When nations are personified as people, what affects the people and land, will also affect that personification. Dipper, Mable, Stan and Ford meet the United States of America. And it goes better than expected! I love how America is portrayed in this fic. And the fact that he helps both Stan and Ford with their current legal issues is really cool! Spoilers for the ending of Gravity Falls, though.
