Hi guys, I’m getting pretty desperate over on insta. Friends of my friends are trying to flee Gaza, and as many commissions as I get for other funds, very few have donated to the gofundmes directly. I’d really appreciate it if folks can share this and contribute if you can. This link tree has the gofundmes. If you contribute any amount ill draw you anything. If you’re American this is not a substitute for protesting our government to stop funding genocide so nobody has to flee their homes.

Writer’s choice of Time For A Spare Prayer or Engagement Series 🤌
Darling! Have some engagement series! ❤️❤️❤️ it’s been a while since I wrote something happy
“Something—“ a conspiratorial voice came up close at his side, sliding into the booth, “is up with you.”
Wylan did his best not to jump, turning to look over at Nina’s sparkling eyes and Matthias’s furrowed brow as if nothing at all was the matter. But, it couldn’t have been less true. Well, nothing was wrong, but something was very much up with him. And he was clearly doing a terrible job of feigning relaxation.
“Who told you that?”
Hopefully not Jes, he worried his lip. Jes was the only one that Wylan was determined not to worry tonight. It would ruin the surprise.
At least, it would ruin the surprise if Wylan could muster up the courage to do what he meant to do in the first place.
Nina was unimpressed by his cagey fidgeting. “I could hear your heartbeat from around the block.”
“It’s true. She said you and Jes were on your way five full minutes before you walked in the door.” Matthias nodded, not so secretly preening at his girlfriend’s power. “You are tightly wound tonight.”
Wylan wished he had the energy to spare them an eyeroll, but he was too wrapped up in the night— his plans, his lover, his friends, and all of them being back at The Crow Club again. The club floor was full of dregs and crows and pirates that knew him at his smallest and most afraid. Jesper was leaning up against the bar with Inej and Mal just a moment ago; Tolya and Tamar were drinking Rotty under the table with some elaborate drinking game; and here he was. Sitting in a cosy booth with interrogating eyes on him.
He was too happy to even feign irritation. And, if you can find the right moment tonight, you’ll only be happier.
If he says yes.
“I…” his heart was like a hummingbird in his chest, whizzing around against his ribs as he thumbed at the small velvet box in his pocket. It felt heavier than it ought to as he set it on the table. “I’m going to ask Jesper to marry me. Tonight. Possibly, if—“
“If? If, if, if— Wylan, why in the name of all the saints would he say no?” Nina swatted at the air like the idea was a pesky fly, but her grin was absolutely gleeful as she opened the small box and took a peek at the ring. “Oh, Wylan. That’s lovely— if for no other reason, Jes would say yes just for the ring.”
“But,” Matthias cut in, “he will say yes because he loves you. That much is obvious— you suit each other so well. You have a beautiful life together, and Djel will bless you.”
Wylan couldn’t help the grin on his face. Maybe it was just from trying to picture the ascetic, traditionalist deity of Fjerda blessing the ultra modern union of a hedonist like Jesper Fahey, but Wylan supposed it was the thought that counted. Matthias blessed them. And that was what mattered.
Whichever of his thoughts were showing on his face, Nina clocked them immediately. “We’re so happy for you, Darling. He loves you madly, trust me— no one knows a heartbeat better than me.” She winked.
“Promise you’ll do it by the end of the night?”
Oh, Ghezen.
“I…” Nina handed back the ring box with a look that brooked no argument. And it felt… warm. It was bright and dazzling as the sensation fizzed through his veins, like champagne in springtime— suddenly, he was so excited that he could scarcely get the words out. “I promise.”
Thanks for playing! ❤️

4, 17, 32, and 60 for the SOC asks! 💕
4 (What character did you get attached to the quickest?) Remembering back to the first time I read SoC, I... I think it was Inej. Inej and Wylan, bc for both of them they felt like fish out of water; even if they'd learned to "swim", they still had foundations and morals they were cagey to break and did things they constantly regretted, whereas kaz was broken by the barrel, matthias and nina were soldiers that had seen their fair share of violence, and jesper was just playing it all off for laughs in the hopes he wouldn't break himself. inej and wylan felt really properly Morally Good in a way that drew me to them at first (before jesper stole my heart eventually)
17 (Character Misconceptions) not to be kuweipilled again but god. the people who get weirdly hatey abt kuwei being a "homewrecker" are so weird to me. what do you mean he's like 16 he wrecked nothing. This Guy just got out of ice hell prison where he was Sure he was going to die by execution and then all of a sudden he's rescued by a handful of kids just like him, and a couple of them are really attractive, and he's riding off the high of Thinking He Was Going To Die so ofc he's gonna shoot his shot. have a little fun. and honestly he deserves it! yes, kissing somebody without their "consent" wasn't cool, and I do think he probably felt bad about it after. but also Jesper was the one who couldn't tell them apart. kuwei was just out here. ok off my kuwei soapbox now. be nice to him that is all
32 (Most Exciting Scenes) everything leading up to inej, jesper and wylan getting into the tank and busting out all felt so Tense and Hype and gahhhhh i love it. the way they're all trying to get the class cut with the diamond drill as the druskelle are breaking the doors down. hehehehehehehe i love
60 (Fave Fanarts) ough i gotta dig for a second
These Sketches from jccatstudios (honestly their whole comic adaptation of ch 2 is sooooo good)
this comic by maybemacdc
autumn crows!! by josketches
this unhinged kaz by dyllpiccle
and this sweet wesper drawing by agnes-draws!
go give em some love!!

Hey so I’ve decided to dive into the dark world of writing and thought I’d try my hand at the crows.
Here’s the link to my first piece. It’s 2 chapters right now but I will add more. Please check it out if you’re interested in Kaz getting beat up and overall not having a good time!
(Also, Abby if you are reading this, this stays between you and me. No ones else needs to know that I am now writing fan fiction.)

HE’D BE LYING if he said he hadn’t been waiting for this to happen.  it was . . . all well and good since she’d returned from that first unexpected disappearance, but — at least this time, he’s gotten a warning.  going by how cagey and uncomfortable she looked, jesper is willing to bet good money on this being a difficult move for her — letting him know instead of vanishing in the night.  he’s . . . well, grateful isn’t quite the word.  relieved to be hearing it from her.
“ right.  take — take as long as you need, ”  alright, so he struggled to say that a little.  but only a little.  jesper doesn’t begrudge jyn this at all, but . . . a little pit of worry still sat in his gut; worry that she might run into bad luck, or worse.  “ be careful?  i’ll miss you. ”
more than he could verbalise for her, actually.  jesper clears his throat, shoves his hands in his pockets, tries to meet her eyes without showing just how much he’d miss her.  “ come back in one piece. ”

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo - blurrypetals review
originally posted feb. 9, 2018 - ★★★★★
[read for my book club, My Idea of Therapy] It's difficult to write a review for this that's in my usual overview sort of a way, so I'm going to try to take the same approach to reviewing this book as the book did to its plot: character by character. First, to get this in before I begin the character by character here's this: I recommend this book overall and it was definitely good enough to still sit beside The Grisha Trilogy on my favorite books shelf, but it was easy to pick favorite characters and thus, favorite parts of the story. Part of it is due to the fact that this audiobook has seven narrators; I think it would have benefitted the overall feel and structure of the book if it had either been narrated only by Lauren Fortgang and whoever the fuck narrated Kaz's chapters (I listened to quick samples from each guy; I can't tell for certain, but I THINK it's Fred Berman) or if it had been written in the first person. I still generally liked the book, but it basically became a waiting game for Kaz and Inej chapters for me because I preferred their narrative voices as well as the actors who, well, gave them audible voices. So here are my thoughts on each character, from my least favorite to my most favorite(s). It's a tie for first. 5. Matthias - even though he was my least favorite, his arc was still really great. The actor they chose for him sounded so *MANLY* and that, paired with the character's rigid personality made his head the least fun to be in...or near? I still don't get why this book is in the third person. 4. Nina - she's further down mostly because her arc is tied to Matthias who is, as I've established, not the most fun, but I felt like most of her character development was tied to Matthias's arc or it didn't exist at all until the VERY END of the book. She was narrated by Elizabeth Evans, who is certainly a fantastic narrator, but her voice belongs to the Throne of Glass series in my head. Every time I heard her (very lovely) voice I started to have war flashbacks to Empire of Storms, which would sour my mood, which is obviously not Leigh Bardugo's, Elizabeth Evans's, or anyone else's fault (except maybe Sarah J. Maas's?) it's just one of those things. Hopefully it's a hurdle Crooked Kingdom will help me get over. 3. Jesper and, by proxy, Wylan - I don't have much else to say other than the fact that they're adorable and I ship it like FedEx. (view spoiler) 1. and 2. Kaz and Inej - the two biggest reasons this book has a 5 star rating from me. Their relationship is so intricately written with fathomless depths, so much mutual respect I think I got diabetes from how sweet it was, and, of course, it's a cagey bad boy with a troubled past that's affecting his future, paired up with a badass girl with her own mess of past traumas...what's not to absolutely love? Not only are they great together, but they're amazing on their own, too. As I said earlier, I looked forward to their chapters nearly from the word go because their voices were both so unique, intriguing, and enrapturing. This is the Leigh Bardugo I signed up for, the one who wrote one of the best villains (and honestly, one of the best characters, period) I've ever read in The Grisha Trilogy. Kaz and Inej are perfectly imperfect and I can't wait to find out what happens to them and their comrades in arms. The heist they have to pull of was all really fun, well-paced, and unpredictable, too, from getting the party together, to leaving Ketterdam, to crossing the ocean, on and on and on until the very last twists and turns, even in the very last minutes, when I certainly thought things were wrapping up (view spoiler). I'm glad I read The Grisha Trilogy before reading this, too, because a lot of people have said you can just read this without reading The Grisha Trilogy, which you can but it does spoil who survives certain things and it drops certain contextual spoilers that aren't HUGE but anyone who reads this and THEN goes back to read the original trilogy might have some lightbulb moments and it could drain the tension out of certain things that happen there. Onward to the finale!
