HOA Among Us Gameplay

Seasons Greetings! Are you a House of Anubis fan? Do you find yourself wanting a chance to experience being the characters themselves? Did you play the Among Us game at some point in your life? Do you want to unite with your fellow HOA fans and accuse them of murder?

Well, this is the place for you!

Listen, as Sibuna followers we’re on top of anything spooky and creepy. Let’s put ourselves to the test and have a nice gameplay of Among Us. Maybe three rounds, maybe more depending how we’re feeling after.

We play as characters, try to be in character for as long as possible. If you’re Fabian or Nina, be super sleuthy. If you’re Patricia never stop accusing people or causing fights. If you’re Jerome… you’re probably the impostor.

When?

On December 27th, on 5PM AST (time is a default and available to change if contacted) we shall connect and play a rousing game of Among Us, dress up and name ourselves after our chosen HOA character and figure out the two imposters among us. You heard that right, folks! Two imposters.

I will be posting the game entry code 10 minutes before we begin so everyone can get settled.

Which Among Us map will we explore?

Map will be The Airship (it has a very Anubis House vibe to it). But since it’s also larger than most, I suggest practice playing it solo. For more information, please DM me and I can teach you how. If not, the map can always go back to the original setting: The Skeld.

Now, who are you going to be?

There are 15 slots for a full Among Us gameplay and if we have more than 15 people interested, I suggest to repeat the activity with the others the next day on Dec. 23rd. Anyone interested in replaying can do so as well if there are slots available for the next day.

Staff Pick of the Week

Sometimes while pulling books for a class something will catch my eye. This book Romance de la Guardia Civil Espanola or The Ballad of the Spanish Civil Guard, by Spanish poet and playwright, Federico García Lorca, published by The Janus Press, Newark, Vermont, 1974, was pulled for a upper level Spanish course. The woodcuts by American printmaker, Jerome Kaplan (1920-1997) are what caught my eye. 

As an artist-printmaker I am drawn to prints that embrace the qualities of the matrix. I see Kaplans woodcuts as a celebration of the medium. He does not overpower the wood and force it to be something that it is not; the grain of the wood and the mark of the gouge are embraced. These woodcuts powerfully express the sorrow and drama of the conflict in the poem and the poems’ nocturnal motif. 

This book was designed and printed by Clair Van Vliet at her Janus Press. The type was set in 18 point Monotype Spectrum by Nancy Boylen and printed on Mohawk Superfine Vellum paper in an edition of 300 copies, and bound by Jim Bicknell. The edition is signed by the artist and our copy has a signed presentation inscription from Claire Van Vliet to our friend and benefactor Jerry Buff, who donated this book to us from his extensive collection.

A Jerome Valeska Headcanon

The boy is flexible as fuck from watching the contortionists stretching and secretly following along or waiting until he was alone and repeating what he saw them do.

(Jeremiah would do it with him before he left, one of the things they kinda bonded over, but didn't stay in practice and isn't as flexible in adulthood like Jerome)

And to get real specific with it and make it angsty of course :)

One time, he was caught by the contortionists. He was allowed to join them, and he still hadn't gotten his full middle splits yet. So one of them says they'll help him, and they just push him down into a full split and hold him there.

He tried not to cry in front of them, but he definitely did when he was alone later. He couldn't walk quite right for a few days.

as for Fabian, i gave him the sleuthy Sherlock hat, obvi. also love that his color is the same as their uniform

i gave Patricia a scary mask thing that i think she’d like, and the chef hat was fun because of her cooking stuff in s2. the viking helmet is just random but i think she’d dig it (there’s a few random ones in here)

Joy gets a hot pink as well as the halo which i love, she has never done a single bad thing in her entire life. the flamingo is random but fun that i think she’d like
