The Action Science Police is still stocked with a bunch of assholes. Monsters, the jigokai still roam the planet. And Jenny Tetsuo is still a giant mess. JENNY ZERO v2 picks up the action, the mayhem, and the hysterics without missing a beat.

Except, of course, this volume pivots around back stories full of tears and regret. On the face of things, Jenny agrees to tag team with the fools of the ASP with the goal of stopping some massive "overking" monster from awakening. But as luck would have it, or not, the ASP's Director Santo has her own plans for General Fujimoto and the infamous "Jenny Zero." The ASP is the world's foremost organization designed to assess and eliminate high-level threats; it has the tech, the personnel, and the brains. And that's kind of a problem. Will Jenny and her pals figure identify this "problem" before it's too late? The hive mind waits for no one.

JENNY ZERO v2 is less visually and narratively chaotic than the first volume, but still contains solid amounts of delightfully inappropriate humor and gratuitous violence. Sounds like a win. Jenny's time in the mountains with Aiko has mellowed her out a bit (alcohol, yes, but no more drugs), and the young woman's date with destiny has her reckoning with her and her father's pasts more concretely than before. Jenny's assorted collisions with mind-control death cults, indestructible dark gods, and an awkward reunion with Alpha are par for the course.

The art is up to the challenge, too. Here, the coloring is less gratuitous and more amiable, relative to the previous volume. Instead of the creative team's infatuation with brightness and ferocious complementary colors, readers encounter a more consistent and theme-appropriate mixture of blues and purples that give the comic a saturated, mellow, dreamy look and feel. The end result works, and the comic is both fun and easy to read because of it.

Jenny is still a pain in the ass, but she's got Fujimoto and Dana Sheratin, her best pal, nearby to keep her (somewhat) in check. The story's deeper investment in the history of Jenny's father, as well a into Director Santo, lend the comic much-needed dimensionality beyond the tale of a sorrowful adult who refuses to grow up. For want of criticism, JENNY ZERO v2 definitely rushes the ending (e.g., super bad villain misses his time to shine), and the final chapter could well skirt a rather calamitous comic book trope (e.g., good characters with very bad luck), but here's to hoping Jenny remains as strong and complicated as ever.

Mk1 Random Drawings #4

This hunk of ice, he's cold and mean, but that's understandable. I know someone like him, so I'm used to his antics. No one understands him, so am I. But, we all know he's not like that, just misunderstood. He just can't express it, but he's trying, in different ways. We all can't fix him, but let's acknowledge him. Even at times he's a jerk!

After two separate days of creating everything for this "made for fun" post, it's finally finished.

This was inspired by a scene near the climax to Deadpool & Wolverine, but of course, I won't spoil anything since I have friends who haven't seen the movie yet.

Anyway, aside from Danny as Wolverine and Jenny as Deadpool, I chose six specific characters for the others. Each character took random hours depending on the designs and details.

Before the characters, I made the Tech Van from Glitch Techs as their transportation.

For the Void, I went with Shirley's pocket dimension that was RetroDimmsdaleVille in Jimmy Timmy Power Hour 3: The Jerkinators! like in my last one.

The shadows were made with PhotoLayers and Image Warp.

After everything was done, I used Free Online Image Editor to put it all together, additional parts tweaked on MS Paint. It was finished just last night on Sunday.

Overall, this was long overdue, but one I wanted to make out of my strong interest in Nicktoons and Marvel. I honestly thought I could finish it before The Simpsons' 36th season started (long story, don't ask), but was I occupied with chores and tasks around the house.

twitter is so funny bc I found someone being like “why does twitter like jenny nicholson she did a Bad Thing in the past! there's mountains of reciepts!” and after multiple people asked there was like. exactly one screenshot and it was like. her not liking a joke someone made. like bro that is not a receipt that is a contextless screenshot that has to do with some very specific drama that like the vast majority of human beings didn’t know about. like if that’s all you had then it’s pointless like we can’t believe you if you say there Is proof but don’t Show the proof man.

Watching Eega right now, which was also written and directed by Rajamouli, and having another one of his movies to put RRR in perspective just makes it even more insanely gay like. In literally one Eega scene he managed to get me so hooked on the main couple like that's LOVE that's DEVOTION that's ART. So he is capable of writing showstopping straight romances, he just chose not to in RRR. This guy is out here making a whole light projector out of a bag of chips so his crush can finish her sculpture more easily, and Raju didn't even write to Seetha for 5 years. Bheem and Jenny didn't even get unambiguously together. Literally obsessed

Jenny isn’t sure what she had been expecting as she follows one of the Paternoster Irregular’s down an alleyway and into an alcove between buildings. She knows the children they employ are more often than not urchins who live entirely or partially on the street. Most willing to take their chances on the unforgiving cobbled streets than in the orphanages or workhouses.

But when she ducks under the bits of fabric the kids have used to give themselves a bit of privacy, she isn’t expecting two scruffy looking children who can be no older than five. The younger of the two is sniffling, cuddled up against the older one who is observing Jenny with eyes too un-trusting for a child that small.

Post-Zero Hour Kon tie-ins is actually how Mon-El, like. Makes his return to the DCU. Kon and Bart spent a good amount of time with the Legion

Kon and Bart spending time with the Legion was post their deaths right? Hm, I'll have to read tt03 and their solos before I get to that...but I'll check out Mon's stuff with Kon (I'd heard they were pretty close tbh & some people were upset cause of how Mon was portrayed with Jon (it's always Jon) because of that & they felt it butchered his character) as it comes up! Mostly reading for Jenni and hijinks cause they seem like a fun bunch but I saw some of Mon w Clark & in the little yj-losh crossover and figured he looked interesting. Thank you, I'll check it out!
