Jasico Bingo Challenge #14!!
Prompt: Boyfriend Sweater
Jason had been searching for his favorite hoodie for about twenty minutes. He searched his closet, and the laundry basket, and had dumped out the contents of both the washer and dryer in his quest to find it.
His search led him to the living room. Why he would leave it there, he had no clue, but he was scatterbrained these days and still searching desperately.
Between his job in alter architecture, his and Nico's upcoming wedding, and just generally being a demigod, he had his hands full. Sometimes he just left things in weird spots and had to scrounge for them later.
Nico was usually helpful in remembering where Jason put his things, but Nico was napping on the couch and Jason didn't want to disturb him. Being King of Ghosts was hard and had a surprising amount of paperwork attached to it, so Jason knew he needed the sleep.
Jason glanced over him during his initial search of the room, ensuring he was asleep. He checked every nook and cranny of the living room before retiring his search to the bedroom.
His search was fruitless, earning a "Where on Olympus is it..." muttered from his mouth as he checked the closet for the millionth time.
"Where what?" A tired voice asked from the doorway.
Jason looked over. "Oh, hey babe. I was looking for my...hoodie." Jason looked at Nico, who was currently wearing the hoodie he'd spent thirty minutes searching for.
Nico looked down. It went down a little past his thighs, way too big for him. He was wearing shorts, but they were engulfed in the hoodie so only his pale legs stuck out.
"You found it," Nico laughed. Jason laughed too. For a second, he was mad about the wasted time, but it quickly passed when he saw his fiancée swallowed whole in the purple fabric.
"You little thief!" Jason laughed, throwing him onto the bed. Nico laughed between words, but couldn't manage to say anything between being smothered by Jason.
Jason tired himself out and laid down next to Nico, holding him and the extra fabric of the hoodie close. He kissed the top of Nico's head and laughed.
"What were you looking for it for? Going somewhere?" Nico asked, curling into Jason's touch in a way he had only recently started to do.
"I was gonna go grocery shopping, but lying here with you is way more fun."
Nico laughed lightly and swung his legs to wrap around Jason’s. “I’ll go shopping with you if you let me sleep for like thirty minutes.”
Jason started to stand. “Alright, get your beauty sleep you freak-”
Nico grabbed his arm. “I don’t know where you think you’re going,” he laughed.
“Oh, does the Ghost King want to cuddle?”
“Shut up and get under the blankets.”

Bruce who forgets he can’t just. Pick Jason up as easily as before.
Jason will get injured, — he hates ankle wounds; they’re not like shoulder wounds, which are his favorite.
They’re pesky, and tiny but powerful, like Damian, — and Bruce casually walks up to him, tries lifting him by the armpits. One time? No go. Two times? No. The third time, he cracks his neck and does it.
Other times, Jason pretends to be asleep in the Batmobile so Bruce would carry him. Bruce forces himself not to mention Jason can’t sleep without his Wonder Woman bear.

Bruce: Dick, what’s this I’m hearing about you trying to send Tim to Arkham?
Dick: For the last time, I NEVER said that!
Tim: As good as!
Bruce: *disappointed dad voice* Really chum, I can’t believe you would tell your brother such a thing.
Dick: I didn’t! I just suggested therapy!
Tim: *scoffs* Yeah, in METROPOLIS.
Bruce: *Gasps*
Jason: *Gasps*
Damian: *Betrayed*
Alfred: *Too proper to gasp so loudly, but almost fumbles his antique feather duster*
Dick: Oh come on, it’s not that bad! It’s close, it’s relatively safe, and their PHDs are less likely to go rogue.
Jason: *Cover’s Damian’s ears as he backs them both out of the room, still loudly gasping in offense like the theater kid he is at heart*
Bruce: I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed.

My less popular opinion (and what I believe to be implied by the art in Lost Days) is that rather than waking up in a fully grown body Jason didn’t actually complete his puberty until after his Lazarus pit dip while he was on his murder tour. Imagine you’re tied up in a basement in Berlin getting interrogated by a teenager and his voice is cracking the entire time and if you laugh he’s going to shoot you
#Late puberty Jason truthers rise#Egon calling up Talia like ‘did you send me a middle schooler what is this’. ‘He’s technically high school aged actually’#he would’ve been like 18 when he finally regained consciousness but the way he’s drawn could easily be mistaken for 15#I know people love the body dysmorphia angst of Jason waking up big but I offer you this: Jason wakes up looking basically the same to a#world that has moved on without him and is unrecognizable. His death/injuries stunted him he existed for years in a state of suspension#while the world passed him by. He was on pause while everyone kept moving on and he didn’t get unpaused until the Lazarus pit and he has#to scramble to catch up. He’s actually 18 but the last thing he remembers is being 15 and his body reflects this state#and then once his mind is finally back online puberty hits him like a truck. Just look at the difference between how Jason is drawn#immediately after his dip in the Lazarus pit vs the end of lost days when his training arc is over#It implies it could’ve been multiple years but in order to fit with the timeline of other comics I personally don’t think it#would’ve been that long. I think he just sprouted up like a weed#Jason Todd#dc#I think Jason is technically still growing by the time he’s red hood. In my personal mindscape he doesn’t reach his peak buffness/height#he’s like 21 and he’s 19 in utrh#Sorry for my 1538283th post about red hood lost days I’m obsessed with his little fucked up coming of age story#Red hood lost days

Prompt:
It’s not that Jason forgot, per se.
But between smuggling a toddler out of the League of Assassins, trekking halfway across the world, and finding a suitable hiding place that’s also child friendly… well, it kind of slipped his mind that he’s supposed to be… dead.
Something that comes back to bite him in the ass when he takes Dami out for some ice cream and just so happens to run into non other than Brucie-fucking-Wayne
#look I’ve found a new fave trope and it’s Brucie Wayne having to keep up his act while internally LOSING HIS SHIT#Jason isn’t very into the whole revenge thing here#his mind is 85 parts ‘keep Dami safe’ 5 parts ‘kill joker asap’ and 10 parts ‘avoid bats at any cost’#Jason doesn’t know who Damian’s father is#dealer’s choice if Jason establishes himself as Dami’s dad or older brother#his build certainly makes him look old enough#if you don’t look at his baby face lol#Jason runs into Brucie and goes straight into survival mode#Damian who is very observant for a toddler immediately clocks Brucie as THREAT based on Jason’s reaction#Brucie blue screens and desperately tries not to lose Jason in the crowd#jason is absolutely trying to lose Brucie in the crowd#while clutching Damian like his life depends on it#for all he knows it does#the visceral terror that your pseudo dad will take away your little brother/baby#Bruce who just wants to know if he’s hallucinating again: W A I T#jason who is terrified of being put in Arkham for killing people: no FUCKING WAY#hm maybe Jason plays the ‘I’m not Jason’ game again#it’s not gonna hold for long#but Bruce absolutely thinks that Damian is Jason’s bio child for a while and he’s on the WARPATH#Jason was sixteen when he died and never showed any interest in dating so literally every red flag is waving in brucie’s mind simultaneousl#or maybe Jason manages to get away and all Brucie is left with is the memory of his supposedly dead son#running away from him#and clutching a tiny kid#prompts#jason todd#batfamily#Damian wayne#batdad#brucie wayne

Bruce trains with the League of Shadows, grows close with Talia and Ra’s, but — eventually — spurns their movement to return to Gotham and pursue his mission.
Years later, he shows up in the middle of the night at Talia’s door. There’s a body in his arms, wrapped in bloodstained sheets.
“The Pit,” he whispers, trembling, “is it true?”

I have a dumb idea
The justice league (Minus Clark and Diana) thinks that Robin is an immortal being that changes form every 5-10ish years because Bruce never told them he had different robins
Robin I and Bruce having issues near the end was just due to the transformation coming near
Robin II only lasting so long and Bruce’s grief after they attribute to something going wrong with the transformation and do think Robin is dead
However when Robin III comes they assume that Bruce’s grumpiness is attributed to him being over protective after the disaster of the last transformation
The Steph comes and goes back to Tim and they’re all thrown but like maybe this version of Robin is genderfluid and they don’t want to be rude so they don’t say anything
And when Damian comes after 5 years it just solidifies this theory as well as Robin probably being genderfluid cause of Carrie
Yes the bat kids have come to the watchtower as Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and Spoiler
Bruce is unaware
The batkids know and are keeping up the act as they wait for the perfect moment to descend from the celing, all wearing the robin uniform and traumatizing the Justice League

i have nowhere to put my batman thoughts so they’re going here
jason comes back as the red hood, planning to take out his little replacement or at least hurt him bad enough that he drops the suit and lets robin die but suddenly, a month before his plan is to start, robin disappears. and so does the joker.
what? jason looks, he scours security cameras and internet forums, even weasels his was into the gcpd’s files and…
nothing. there’s nothing.
no bodies reported, joker’s not in arkham or black gate or any other prison, he hasn’t finally been given the death penalty he just. disappeared.
he can’t find anything on robin either, or tim drake, for months until he stumbles upon a nearly perfect patient file in some hospital records.
nearly. it’d be perfect to anyone else but jason, even years later, can recognize bruce and barbara’s finger prints all over it. it’s a cover. a cover for what though? he reads through the file, tim drake’s file, presumably and finds… well.
someone clearly tortured the kid, and with the meds he was being prescribed it got to him. it would’ve gotten to anyone.
jason shudders reading the initial injury report. electric burns, lots of them, are what catches his eye the most but there’s all kinds of stuff. what catches his eye the most though is the lacerations that had to be stitched either side of the kid’s mouth. shit.
he doesn’t get the full picture, not yet, but pieces are starting to come together. the joker has been missing for a while, just a little longer than jason’s replacement has been in the hospital for some violent injuries.
the joker is missing.
tim drake is in the hospital.
something happened, clearly. the joker did something to tim, something awful, something bad enough that the joker disappeared and the kid’s been in the hospital for weeks.
bruce didn’t make it in time, only this time robin wasn’t dead, he’d been broken.
someone had gotten to robin, to tim drake, before jason could, had gotten to him so badly that even after he was released he wasn’t robin anymore.
not because he didn’t want to be, a few bugs here and there in the manor let him know that much, but because bruce wouldn’t let him.
it comes out, in one of these arguments, that time killed the joker. shot him dead. and jason almost wants to congratulate the kid for it, or wants to strangle bruce and ask him how the hell he let robin, who’s just a kid, tim, who’s just a fucking kid, get anywhere near a position where he had the means and desire to fatally shoot the joker.
because that’s it, isn’t it? the reason jason’s like this, doing this, is because of the joker. jason knows how to use guns because of the joker. he’ll never go to college like a normal kid because of the joker. and now tim.
tim wants to be robin, asks for it, begs bruce to let him back out in the suit and jason nearly finds himself agreeing with bruce. the joker’s gone sure but what if someone else tries the same thing? what if someone tries worse? being in the suit’s already gotten tim this much pain, why risk more?
it hits jason, one night, that he stopped being angry at tim a while ago. a long while. he can’t be angry at bruce either, because the joker is dead. there’s no one to enact vengeance for his death on anymore.
anyways most of my posts are about incest please don’t follow me for batman content

Jason decides that there’s something sketchy going on at the Drake Estate and then realizes that Wayne Manor is definitely big enough to hide someone in long enough for squatter’s rights to kick in. So, that’s his plan for the neighbor kid.
Tim agrees to this.
Two months in, Dick knows (Jason told him) and Jason comes home from patrol to find Stephanie there. Tim says, “This is Steph. She’s my best friend and she hit me with a brick. She lives here now too.”

A while ago I read a post about Bruce using weird punishments instead of corporal punishments for his kids so today I would like to submit my childhood punishment
Standing with your nose to the wall
This is especially effective on Dick because it is super boring and he can’t really move or see what’s going on but all the kids hate it

ignoring that the canon answer to jason’s resurrection is “superboy punched a wall”, i propose immortal!Jason Todd
as in, jason is actually a meta-human who can’t die. the only reason he stayed dead as long as he did in the first place is because of how fucked his body was after everything the joker put him through and he needed to “heal.” even then he was still recovering after literally digging himself out of his grave
however, since he most definitely can’t remember shit until after his dip in the lazarus pit, he doesn’t know. talia kept her mouth shut because knowledge is power, jason never asked because he was Angry and there were no other witnesses
so immortal meta-human jason but nobody figures it out until he dies again

thinking about a no upside down au steddie fic where steve and eddie run into each other years after moving away from hawkins, and eddie remembers steve and his fall from grace as king, and is kind of intrigued to see what kind of person he is now
and steve doesn’t remember him at all at first, because, look, eddie changed his hair again, and steve’s had a few head injuries (no upside down but i imagine he still went thru some shit with the party and with robin), and he didn’t really think about eddie in high school anyway, and he’s trying to forget about hawkins as much as possible (besides the kiddos, but they’re all moved out for college now, anyway) (obviously he lives with robin)
but steve is different now, happier, more open, flirts with guys, flirts with EDDIE, and eddie….. well, he wants to know more! and he tells steve he knows him from hawkins, and steve’s sunny little smile flickers a little, but he just apologizes for not remembering him and mentions he has some memory problems
and they get to know each other, and eventually as eddie tells him more (and maybe with the help of some yearbooks) steve remembers eddie. and. well. they like getting to know each other. and they like each other. and then they get together
eventually they’ve been together for a while, and eddie thinks he wants to maybe introduce steve to wayne, and he mentions he’s going to go back to hawkins for a long weekend (as he’s done a couple times) and this time he’d like steve to join him
and again steve’s sunny smile flickers a bit, but he says he’d love to meet eddie’s uncle, and… they go to hawkins. and it goes well— meeting wayne, at least, but steve seems a little on edge the whole time they’re there, tense when they drive in, fidgety when they go to the grocery store, et cetera. eddie thinks maybe steve is nervous about staying with the man who raised eddie, which is ridiculous, because wayne LOVES steve.
it’s not til they leave the town altogether that steve relaxes, and eddie realizes it wasn’t “meeting the parents” but rather going back to hawkins. and speaking of meeting the parents, steve didn’t ever bring his own up, even though eddie knew they still lived in hawkins. and the way steve glanced around whenever they went in public, like he was scared of getting recognized
and he asks about it, and steve doesn’t really want to talk about it, but he gives eddie snippets of it. people he wanted to leave behind in hawkins, memories that resurfaced, things he wants to forget
eddie goes back to see wayne sometimes, and the first time he doesn’t know whether to ask steve to come, so he just mentions he’s thinking about going to hawkins for some weekend and steve immediately starts making plans with him as if the invite is implicit. they go back to hawkins several more times, steve still tense and pent up the whole time they’re there
over time steve reveals more and more to eddie. everything that made hawkins hell for him, from the things he himself did in high school to the things people did to him. stuff tommy and carol and billy said to him. some of it is just typical high school bullshit (and oh, the nancy thing.) some of it is the tragedies steve went through, the horrors he had to protect his kids from. the injuries he sustained. more generally the homophobia that permeated the whole town, keeping steve from being himself. the lack of support in the indiana public school system for a high school senior who’s had two concussions and gone through incredible trauma.
his parents. the reason why steve’s mail is addressed to ‘steve buckley’ now, not ‘steve harrington’.
(that doesn’t come out until much, much later, and eddie is kicking himself for ever suggesting steve come back to hawkins.)
eddie, who hardly had an easy time of it in hawkins, is absolutely blown away by what steve had gone through in the same town, right under his nose. the entire persona that steve was trying to leave behind — the cool as a cucumber, unaffected, douchey mask he wore to hide all that he had endured. the head injuries. the emotional tragedies he had gone through. the way he had to be the rock for the kids even as he went through the same things as them.
he tries to tell steve they never have to go back to hawkins again, and steve is having none of it. he tells steve wayne can come visit them in their new city, and steve thinks that’s completely unfair to the man who had raised eddie, seriously, you’re going to make him come all the way up here?
and well i don’t know exactly what the ending is but steve is so stubborn about trying to love hawkins because it was eddie’s home and he wants to be able to go see wayne because wayne deserves to see his kid and eddie deserves to see his uncle and steve doesn’t want to be the problem :(
#steddie#stranger things#this isn’t very fleshed out but just. hawkins as an incredibly scarring place for steve#something built up in his mind as a very dangerous place for him not just because of what happened there but who he had to be there#i think ultimately it would culminate in them going back to hawkins and running into steve’s parents when they least expect it#and steve gets to yell at them in public and tell them they suck and ruin their image and eddie is being his little guard dog next to him#baring his teeth#for the no upside down part of the au i think it would have to be like. nebulous tragedy of season 1 struck them#barb still died (sorry barb) so that his relationship with nancy falls apart. will and el are twins and they disappear the same night#steve knows the kids earlier in the timeline in this one and has already basically adopted them when will and el go missing#eddie was never the victim of a massive witch hunt but jason still harasses him during his third senior year and gets ppl to gang up on him#so he was never like Wanted by all of hawkins and can never return but he sure doesn’t feel welcome there besides w wayne#oh i also think it would be important that one of the trips steve snaps at eddie bc he’s so strung out and immediately regrets it#and takes it as proof that when in hawkins Steve Is A Bad Person and tries to explain this to eddie#eddie meanwhile is trying to convince steve that he’s not a bad person and that he was being mean because he’s completely stressed out#and he wouldn’t be so stressed out if he didn’t make himself come back to hawkins#anyway ultimately. steve realized hawkins is just a place where bad things happened. it is not a place that makes people (including himself)#bad. it’s just. a place. and steve did not grow and change for the better bc he got out of hawkins. he got better bc he put the effort in#god i just. love steve so much and the version of him in my mind is so much better developed than what the duffers are doing

Here’s how I would write Jason Todd if I had my own continuity
-Make him and Dick closer in age (like a two year age difference, maybe Dick is 15 when he decides to lead his own team and Jason becomes the new Robin at 13)
-Give him most of the lore and backstory of TNBA’s Tim Drake (Who was really Jason Todd just with Tim’s name because Jason was unpopular at that time)-This includes the brainwashing and torture he went through to become joker jr
-After this traumatic experience he would willingly give up the mantle as Robin and lay low for a long time
-Time skip maybe about a year, something triggers him to put on the cape and mask again, but not the cape or mask of Robin. Perhaps all that culmination of trauma
-Have him officially become the Red X (no redhood in this continuity because I never liked that idea)-Give him a similar dynamic in teen titans in regards to his relationship with Dick, except he isn’t actively malicious, he’d be a neutral force and slowly shift into more anti hero status
-Have him ALMOST kill someone, I’m not sure if he’d kill Joker in this continuity for of his extreme trauma would make him repress his emotions like guilt and empathy to an extreme degree to the point that he doesn’t feel anything at the thought of killing someone, except perhaps a sense of justice. However, in someway he would be brought back to his senses and would be reminded that he doesn’t need to kill in order for there to be justice
-I want him to have actual closure with Batman, I hate how their relationship is in canon. They should disagree on a few things sure. But they should still care for each other at the end of the day.
-Overall have him be a generally morally good character but also have been be willing to do more morally dubious things (not killing as we’ve established). Have him have a rivalry with Dick but also have them be able to team up for the greater good and work together, they are brothers after all. I’d like to imagine in the future when he’s older he’d take a liking to Damien and eventually Terry McGinnius (yes I would incorporate Batman beyond into my continuity it’s my writing lol-)

You guys ever think about an AU where Jason goes to hound Tim through Titans Tower, and, mid pursuit—while Tim is screaming at him about the second Robin being his hero, tryin to crawl away in a trail of blood—realizes he’s become an even worse version of his own mother, who sold him out to the Joker?
Because I do.
