Wow - I have not made a new Temari Ball since 2019. If you want to see some of my work, go to my archives for 2017-2019.
Gallery Show - test set-up. The Guild is having an indoor gallery show with all members displaying up to 4 pieces - no idea how much space we may actually get - technically ‘not for sale’ but can be sold and the Guild will collect all proceeds and pay us back. I am giving them a $20, $25, $35 on a $3 pillow, and a $50 temari and biscornu set, along with an explanation of the work, samples of the process, and business cards. Skeptical if this is actually supposed to garner interest in future Guild shows or not. I had to pay for table space since they are renting a hall to do this.

Embroidered bracelets! Because why not!
It's called Yubinuki and when they are small, they are thimbles. And when they big, they can be bracelets, or stands for Temari.
The core is perforated metal tape used in construction, then covered in fabric which is visible on the inside, then padding on the outside, then Temari style embroidery on the outside.
I love it! I love Temari and now I have all the materials to make stands for them and it's a lot less time planning it out on a ring like structure than on a soft, wool ball. Only have to stock up on embroidery thread again!

I do not know how I stumbled on so much cursed knowledge all at once.
Andrew Rannells, incredibly famous broadway performer possibly most well known as the og Elder Price in the Book of Mormon…
Voiced Len Tao on goddamn 4kids dub Shaman King in 2001.
Somehow even more cursed, is that that same character’s Japanese voice was Romi Park, most famously the voice of Edward Elric in every Fullmetal Alchemist.
#not quite as cursed but other roles I did not know Romi park played: Temari from Naruto. Ken from Digimon 02.#and ganta in deadman wonderland. never knew those bc i never watched them in Japanese#OH MY GOD I JUST LOOKED AT HER FULL CREDITS SHES THE JAPANESE VOICE OF FINN THE HUMAN!!!#WHY DOES SHE PLAY EVERY CHARACTER MISSING A RIGHT ARM?! 😂😂😂😂😂#apple talks#to the tune of spam

sushi koi, pavilion bukit jalil.
decided to try this japanese restaurant because there's lots of good reviews, and the restaurant was almost full too, really a popular option in this huge shopping mall. the menu and ordering system is via QR code that the staff will provide when you are seated.
we ordered the temari sushi, soft shell crab don and gyuniku soba noodles for two people. the food takes some time to arrive but the green tea is enjoyable, so if you are not too hungry, the wait is quite alright.
temari sushi is good, served in bite size and each fish is very fresh and the cut is quite thick as well, i definitely enjoyed them all. soft shell crab don is really really nice, the crab is fried to perfection, the softness inside is still intact and it smells amazing and so appetizing. soba noodles is a comfort dish, the meat slices are soft and tender, soup is really warm and flavorful.
our dining experience overall is great, they refill our green tea when requested, the staff is also tentative and the food presentation is nice, would visit again to try the other stuff in their menu since there's so many things available.

Our sand queen Temari 🛐
A qiut skech. She wants her outfit to be practical, but also to show that she lives in the desert. I don't know what culture she could represent besides the Japanese one, and it would be nice if her outfit was more cultured, so I gave her a nose ring, it somehow fitted. AND HER NOSE WOULDN'T BE UPTURNED NO. She would have a beautiful, slightly crooked nose 😌

Unfortunately, I stopped making Temari Balls around Christmas 2019, and did sell almost all of them off; I donated the rest to charity. I kept a couple of the best ones. They were fun to make - I made them for about 4-5 years; probably made about 70 different designs, so upwards of 400 separate balls.
My present stock of Temari waiting to be sold off! Every single one I have is going to be put up for sale!
The past few days I have been sorting and tagging and pricing my temari; you would think that with all the craft shows I do (and just did) that this would be done already and be an easy step - IT’S NOT! LOL!
Presently I have about 64 temari - some in unfinished states. I have to sort them roughly in half for two ventures - the Hilltown Christmas Place wants their stock next week to open November First, and I have a high-end crafts fair mid-November. So, I am splitting up stuff by price points, adding hangers and price tags, and sorting the unfinished ones that I will try to finish for the show in November. Then I have to create an inventory sheet since the Christmas Place (Williamsburg, MA) pays their commission after Christmas sales are done.
Then will be the BIG CULL! Some of the Christmas-y ones have been around for 3 years - I made them while convalescing with my first hip surgery. They are labelled with a bright green “ CLEARANCE $10 ″ tags, and if they are still around after the holiday they are getting donated to the nearest charity as a write-off because I just can’t stand to keep looking at them when there are so many other designs I want to make, and hate losing the space to store them for months at a time.
WISH THEM LUCK!

What are your thoughts on music in the Narutoverse? 🤔 What kind of music do you think Konoha citizens listen to, what do you think is popular in Suna, I have my playlists and I may share one of these days but your take? 🙂🥰🎼
I have never thought of that before, omg. I hope to GODS this post doesn't sound insentive at all. If it is, please let me know so I can educate myself and take it down/mend it.
I think there are radios in the shinobi world, which offer some music variety. Most shinobi don't really have time to learn any instruments or anything like that. I'd say that traditional Konoha music often involves the koto, a shakuhachi flute and other traditionally Japanese instruments.
I'm currently writing a fic where I incorporate my headcanon that the Uchiha clan owns a crustry dusty piano which hasn't been tuned or played in ages, but legends say Madara Uchiha himself has played that piano.
I think Suna has the richest and oldest culture on the entire continent, and most music probably originates from there. Wind instruments are rather popular, one of them being the ney flute, the arghul, Another instrument that can sometimes be heard is the Duduk. When it comes to string instruments, it would be a sin not to mention the oud, and another one being a special type of lyre, also known as a simsimiyyaa The voice is also often used in Suna music, being regarded as an instrument itself.
Nowadays, many soap operas and dramas are written/produced in the land of wind, adding a very dramatic, emotional sound to it as well. Sunagakure radios are often filled with songs like these. And I think while Kankuro enjoys them, Temari has grown tired of them after hearing them way too often.
UPDATE: Here's part 2 for the rest of the villages

For all the people writing Naruto fanfiction out there, this is for you because wrong addressing ruins the entire vibe.
How people address the person in the parentheses:
Sakura & Naruto (Kakashi) - “Kakashi-sensei” , no exceptions and not “Kaka-sensei” because “shi” is always there in japanese, it’s not a nickname
Sasuke (Kakashi) - “Kakashi”
everyone else (Kakashi) - “Rokudaime” (as in 6th Hokage or more accurately “Sixth”)
Sakura & Sasuke (Naruto) - “Naruto”
Sakura (Sasuke) - “Sasuke-kun” (no exceptions)
Sasuke (Sakura) - “Sakura”
Hinata (Naruto) - “Naruto-kun” (no exceptions)
Naruto (Hinata) - “Hinata”
Naruto (Sakura) - “Sakura-chan”
Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto (Sai) - “Sai”
Hinata (Sasuke) - “Sasuke-kun”
Shikamaru (Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura, Temari) - “Sasuke”, “Naruto”, “Sakura”, “Temari”
Karin, Orochimaru (Sasuke) - “Sasuke-kun”
Suigetsu (Sasuke, Karin, Jugo) - “Sasuke”, “Karin”, “Jugo”
Sasuke (Suigetsu, Karin, Jugo, Orochimaru) - “Suigetsu”, “Karin”, “Jugo”, “Orochimaru”
Sakura (Tsunade) - “Tsunade-sama” or “shishou” aka “master”
Naruto (Tsunade) - “Granny Tsunade”. Others except Jiraiya and Shizune would call her either “Hokage” or “Fifth” aka “Godaime”.
I hope this helps and please feel free to continue the list with only correct info. Good luck.

Ooh, do you know any good books in english about the Ainu? I really like to read more about native cultures, but finding books can be super difficult for me. Also same hat with worrying I’m being racist for seeking out japanese culture information... though usually it’s crafts that I want to find, so hopefully that’s not approprative... Have you seen kumihimo and temari?? They’re gorgeous!
I have no good sources on Ainu, but my followers might! and yes omg. Temari are basically like the Mega Evolution of rubber band balls. It reminds me of those super fancy painted eggs from Eastern Europe.
