SEMI-TOUGH (1977) Grade: D+
Burt Reynolds has a couple good lines but for the most part its a big pass. Silly idea, w odd sequences that add much to anything. Heard the book was much different. Skip it.

I feel really bad for Nadia in this scene. Learning that your heroes are not infallible is always rough! Plus, Jeremy Whitley brilliantly lays the groundwork for Nadiaâs later bout with bipolar disorder, and Janetâs words here are so powerful!
Also, I love the meta-commentary of how Nadia confirmed the truth about the time Hank Pym struck Janet via the Internet, since in real-life the Internet is primarily where Hankâs infamous reputation is the most talked about.

The Unstoppable Wasp #8
Why is Doctor Doom forgivable in Nadiaâs eyes but Hank isnât?
Tony starts two civil wars, cloned/made a Thor without the original's consent, The fucking Illuminati! And God knows what else and he's still a great hero.
The guy could have gotten help from his issues, but it was not as if Janet herself was that supportive of Hank, even taking advantage of his problems to make him marry her instead of actually trying to help him, and even then, him hitting Janet was an accident and he became so horrified immediately afterwards that he regained his sanity and save the day...from a problem he created, but still.

By order of the fookinâ PEAKY BLINDERS, it is done. It has been announced that the currently filming sixth season will be the seriesâ last.Â
Yep. No more staring into the tormented crystal blue eyes of Tommy Shelby.Â
With the announcement of PEAKY BLINDERSâ cancellation comes the realisation that it is the second job Finn Cole has lost in a week.Â
The only worthwhile thing Michael Gray has done is the French inhale.
On Thursday, TNT announced that the upcoming sixth season of ANIMAL KINGDOM will be its final season.Â
Finn can be currently seen in the film DREAMLAND with Margot Robbie, and will next be seen in HERE ARE THE YOUNG MEN, directed by actor Eoin Macken (The Night Shift, Merlin).Â
The film also stars Dean Charles Chapman (1917), Ferdia Walsh-Peelo (Vikings, Sing Street) and Finnâs PEAKY BLINDERS wife Anya Taylor Joy.Â
Speaking of Anya Taylor Joy, she is amongst the actors nominated for a Critics Choice Award.  Anya was nominated in the category of Lead Actress in a Limited Series/Made for TV Movie for Netflixâs THE QUEENâS GAMBIT.
Her competition in that category is: Shira Haas (Unorthodox), Cate Blanchett (Mrs. America), Michaela Coel ( I May Destroy You), Daisy Edgar Jones (Normal People, Tessa Thompson (Sylvieâs Love).Â
The surprises to me are Nicholas Hoult being nominated in Lead Actor for a Comedy Series
amongst Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso),
S2 currently filming
Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadow), Eugene Levy (Schittâs Creek), Hank Azaria (Brockmire) and Ramy Youseff (Ramy);Â surprised by no nomination for Elle Fanning in THE GREAT, no nomination for Ben Whishaw, Timothy Olyphant, Jack Huston or any of the female actors who gave extraordinary performances this season of FARGO (congrats to Chris Rock and Glynn Turman for their nods); no Ethan Hawke nomination for his performance in THE GOOD LORD BIRD (though his two costars received nods); Quibi dominated the short form category but no nomination for THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME which garnered Christoph Waltz an Emmy nomination or #FreeRayshawn whose two leads Laurence Fishburne and Jasmine Cephas-Jones won Emmys; the nomination for Betsy Brandt in the superb finale of SOULMATES. I did not see that coming.Â
The other Critics Choice nominees.

STELLA BRADY
1931
Stella Brady is a play by James Montgomery. It was originally produced by Charles Dillingham and staged by R.H. Burnside. The cast included Cesar Romero, Hilda Spong, and Janet Megrew as the title character.
Stella, a damsel of fair features and thinly-lined pocketbook, is blackmailed into doing unsavory things when she happens onto a bag full of cash. She flees to Cuba with the money and a new-found traveling companion. When a detective tracks them down in Havana, the companion confesses to losing all the money in a casino. Stella is courted by a romantic Cuban, but the detective also loves her. Who will win the heart of Stella Brady?
The title role was originally cast with Erin OâBrien Moore, but was replaced by Janet Megrew before the first performance. It was originally publicized that Montgomery would direct his own play, but staging duties were assumed by R.H. Burnside.Â
Newspapers reported that the play was in rehearsal at the beginning of September 1931. It was originally announced to open in Newark NJ on October 5th, but that did not come to pass. Instead it went North.Â
Although the playâs âpremiereâ was said to be in Atlantic City, it actually had a three-day try-out at the Court Square Theatre in Springfield, Mass. It was a three-day engagement starting October 5, 1931. Â
Stella Brady played at Nixonâs Apollo Theatre on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City NJ on October 12, 1931. It was widely advertised as âPre-Broadwayâ. Â
After leaving AC, the play was scheduled for a week at Brandtâs Windsor Theatre in Fordham.Â
RIP ~ Stella Brady died on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She was murdered by Charles Dillingham. Apparently, it was a mercy killing.Â
James Montgomery was the librettist for the mega-hit musical Irene, the musical for which he also wrote the original play, Irene OâDay. Apparently he had an affection for titling his plays after Irish lasses. After the death of Stella, he tried to repeat Ireneâs success, by penning the book to his hit 1916 play Nothing But the Truth. The musical was titled Tell Her The Truth, and it opened on Broadway in late October 1933. It featured Margaret Dumont, the matronly foil of the Marx Brothers, and William Frawley, who is best known as Fred Mertz on âI Love Lucy.â Although moderately successful in London, it closed after 11 performances at The Cort Theatre.Â
The title Stella Brady would live on in the resume of film star Cesar Romero, who grew up in another New Jersey Shore town, Bradley Beach and went to Asbury Park High School. Stella Brady was supposed to be his sophomore outing on Broadway after his 1929 debut in The Street Singer. In October 1932, a year after the death of Stella Brady, Romero returned to Broadway in Kaufman and Ferberâs Dinner at Eight. It would be his last Broadway play before Hollywood fame. His character was deleted from the 1933 film version, but is first movie The Shadow Laughs, beat Dinner at Eight to the box office by five months!Â

Calessa's 10 Fave Female Characters from 10 Fandoms.
eve(Well, theyâre actually seven Fandoms, but, Who cares?)
So I've never been tagged in this kind of blogs interaction before, but I found it pretty interesting so, I decided to do it because I wanted to. Thanks to @jatp-headcannon-theoriesâ by considering me for the tag, I found it interesting and fun. I really wish we could talk later. Lots of love. (Sorry if my English is bad, it's not my first language.) 1. Sergeant Amy Santiago interpreted by Melissa Fumero in the American police procedural comedy television series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur (September 2013).
I just love her, I feel like Teddy every fucking time I see her. And I feel so proud every fucking time I say that she inspires me to be the best version of me, to not conform and to be proud of who I am.
2. Demon Mazikeen "Smith" interpreted by Lesley-Ann Brandt in the American urban fantasy television series "Lucifer" developed by Tom Kapinos (January 2016).
We all should learn a thing or two about her.
3. Forensic scientist Ella LĂłpez interpreted by Aimee Garcia in the American urban fantasy television series "Lucifer" developed by Tom Kapinos (January 2016).
Sheâs so cute I want to cry. I love how she doesnât have to be an archetype to be a strong woman.
4. Musician Julie Molina interpreted by Madison Reyes in the American musical comedy-drama television series "Julie and the Phantoms" created by Dan Cross and David Hoge (September 2020).
Sheâs just so talented, I wish I had a character like this when I was younger. I wish I could tell in my younger years âI want to be like Julie when I get older.â Just and Icon fro these and future generations.Â
5. Knowledge bank Janet interpreted by D'Arcy Carden in the American fantasy comedy television series "The Good Place" created by Michael Schur (September 2016).
Sheâs just, uh, perfect. I mean, not because she knows everything, but because even knowing everything that can be know about the universe, she continues improving, she becomes better by allowing herself to feel and be a little more human, even if that doesnât make much sense.
6. Trauma surgeon Doctor Audrey Lim interpreted by Christina Chang in the American medical drama television series "The Good Doctor" developed by David Shore (September 2017).
Since the first time I saw her in the show I fell In love with her, I donât know why I know how, but sheâs so powerful without having to be cruel or rude, sheâs optimistic and she pursues her goals and achieves her objectives without having to step over someone. Sheâs just, the woman I aspire to be, I just love her.
Adopt me Dr. Lim!
7. Surgical resident and internal medicine Doctor Morgan Reznick interpreted by Fiona Gubelmann in the American medical drama television series "The Good Doctor" developed by David Shore (September 2017).
How can I begin to explain how much I love her? Itâs just, I donât know, she doesnât take anyone's crap because she knows she can do it. Things aren't easy for her and some parts of her personality sometimes scares people away. She might be seen as the rough or emotionless one, but sheâs willing to do everything for the people she loves and her patients and itâs not an easy thing. I relate her a lot with the phrase âI want to be brave, but that doesnât mean Iâm fearless. I want to be brave so then, others who canât be, can rely and count on me.â I just canât explain to anyone how much I love this woman, I want to marry her.
8. Werecoyote Malia Tate interpreted by Shelley Hennig in the American supernatural teen drama television series "Teen Wolf" developed by Jeff Davis (June 2011).
Just as Dr. Reznick, sheâs such a wonderful character, she has charms and flaws and, even though she spend a good amount of time in the wildlife, sheâs human. I was in love with her since the first time I saw her. Her character had so much potential and Davis just âMehâ her and I hate it. Sheâs my favorite always, without a doubt.
9. Ola Nyman interpreted by Patricia Allison in the British comedy-drama television series "Sex Education" created by Laurie Nunn (January 2019).
Sheâs a lot more than Otis love interest Wikipedia! I think that the think I love the most of her is her kindness, sometimes itâs easier to be evil or blame others for things, and sometimes, kindness itâs taken for granted or its seen as a weakness when its nothing like that. And sometimes, kindness it's just what we need to be better. How can we improve without love and support? Ola Nyman is Iconic too and I love her.
10. Aimee Gibbs interpreted by Aimee Lou Wood in the British comedy-drama television series "Sex Education" created by Laurie Nunn (January 2019).
I just LOVE how she stands for what she wants. I LOVE how she is not another âBarbie Girlâ, I love the depth in her character and how she learns she deserves better and that she is not alone, but most importantly, how sheâs not weak in any way. Even though Maeve she is just lovable and real, a person that can improve for her and who discovers what she really wants.
I think thatâs all, I donât have anything more to say.Â
I'd like to tag @aleksixsixsixâ because i don't know anyone here, and you look like a nice person, sorry for bothering you btw. Keep informing yourselves, be nice, it costs $0 and as always, lots of love. Sincerely Calessa.
