“It seems like she [ Elizabeth of Poland ] already prepared one will, during her first years of stay in Poland, but only the above-mentioned [ made in April 6th 1380 ] survived, which is by all means interesting. At the beginning, Elizabeth states that she wants to be buried in the Poor Clares monastery in Óbuda, which she founded and not in the royal graves in Szekesfehervar [ ... ]. She recommends the care of peace of her soul to her son and daughter-in-law, to whom she also entrusts the protection of her favourite monastery. Then there are bequeaths for the royal family, monasteries and courtiers and from them we can learn not only about the wealth of Elizabeth's treasury, but also about many beautiful features of her character.

Her son, Louis, receives several golden vessels, among them a cup, a gift from Naples on which next to the figure of Saint Ladislaus and the Hungarian count of arms, there was also engraved Polish eagle and then relics, except for a painting supposedly painted by Saint Louis, which was received by Poor Clares. To her daughter-in-law Elizabeth she leaves her castle in Óbuda and then her valuables and one of her breviaries, on which she used to pray. The granddaughter, Mary, receives golden tiara decorated with two eagles and a necklace, the second, Jadwiga receives a tiara with lilies and necklace with costly stones. Elizabeth also does not forget about Jadwiga, an orphan from her brother Casimir, who was still hiding in Buda castle, and leaves her the same tiara as the previous two.

Then Elizabeth disposes of her money, from which, after paying off her debtors, she allocates 500 gold florins for exequies after her death and 2,000 for funeral costs of her granddaughter after her son Stephen, the recently deceased Elizabeth, whose body she orders to be brought to Buda. Elizabeth also provides generously to her courtiers: Jan, the provost of Buda receives 400, knight Jakisz 300, page Ladislaus 200 gold florins, Klara de Pukar receives a village, a cart and 6 horses, 400 silver fines and the Queen's second breviary, which, however, Poor Clares are to receive after her death.

What is left after providing the Queen's confessor and a few other courtiers, jewels, dishes, robs, decorations, utensils and 1,000 golden florins is to be distributed equally among all the Queen's courtiers, both Polish and Hungarian. Pages and other courtiers who do not receive separate salery receives 1,000 florins and all the Queen's carriage horses, except six, which will accompany her funeral.

Finally, there are bequests for churches, in which she supplies all the Dominican, Franciscan and Augustinian monasteries throughout Hungary and a number of other temples. Having entrusted her ladies-in waiting to her daughter-in-law and her courtiers to her son, she asks him to not hold menagers of her estates and treasures responsible on the basis of false accusations, because they are trustworthy people, at the same time she hereby cancels all her previous testamentary decrees. She also appoints the executors of her will, including Cardinal Demtrius of Esztergom and her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth. Hey hey hey I'ts me again and I came with another nerdy Louis post!!

Okay guys, the time has finally come! I'm not strong in french at all (for now) but my half french friend kind of is, so I asked them for some help during my research and I hope it turned out okay!!

So, no time to explain, right now we suggest you make yourself a cup of tea and prepare some marzipans (or at least omelettes if u don't have marzipans) because it's going to be a very big and really grandiose post!

Exactly 407 years ago, on sunday, Jan 29th, a huge intrigued crowd gathered in a giant ballroom of the Louvre palace to watch a truly legendary event in the history of France... Still very young King Louis XIII paid extremely close attention to the preparation of the ballet, as his doctor Jean Héroard noted on January 19th: "He rehearses his ballet twice a day."

Why all this mishmash of sentences, you may ask? *ahem* Lemme explain from the very start... (those who already know of all the drama between Louis and his mom, feel free to skip a couple of paragraphs but if you'd still love to dive even deeper into this rabbit hole and connect two dots then let's go!!)

When little dauphin lost his father (Henri IV) at the age of 8, he was still too young to be a king, so for quite a long time his mother Marie de Medici had to take the place of a regent. And it was all cute and stuff, except for the dauphin had already turned 13 for a year and a half (it was considered the age of majority and gaining power over the state at the time) and Mary did not even think of giving up her career, and especially leaving the throne, no matter how pissed off the young king was because of all the ridiculous formality of his "reign".

He was even more disturbed and frankly enraged by the favorite of the Medici - Concino Concini, who had a terrible effect on his mother according to the prince's beliefs (not only his beliefs at all but let's focus on our blorbo's pov). But don't worry! In January Louis along with his friend, with whom he loved to spend time and in general was emotionally very close, conceived how to end this exhaustingly endless regency, which already had a questioning reputation... And I guess it meant, that the time has come for truly dazzling performances in every single way!

Among all the options proposed by Etienne Durand, the court poet of Marie de Medici (he's also responsible for organizing the performance), the king chose a very specific plot which was taken from the old chivalric poem “Jerusalem Delivered” by Torquato Tasso, as if this choice carried a certain kind of symbolism, but what it really meant??

Keep in mind, Louis really chose the following plot himself: "The valiant knight Renaud de Montauban, played by Charles d'Albert (that one close friend and favorite of the king I mentioned before), succumbs to the charms of the sorceress Armide, who takes him into her enchanted gardens and... enchants him (wow who would've thought)! However, his comrades, including Godeffroy de Bouillon (edit. I accidentally thought that Godeffroy and the demon of fire were the same character, but actually they were two different characters both played by Louis XIII oops) came to save Renaud and break Armide's spell."

Finally, on Sunday, January 29th, 1617, the premiere of "The ballet of Renaud's deliverance" eventually happened yayy, but the crowd was so huge that even the king(!) could hardly make his way through such a large audience, the performance even had to be slightly delayed. But it was worth the wait, because in the end everyone were struck by the fiery appearance of an impressive figure in a black mask, covered from top to bottom with flames. It was the king (OUR BLORBO YASS)!! You can see his costume on the first pic below under the number 1 and Charles as Renaud right above him.

It's believed that the ballet about the liberation of Renaud from the spell of the sorceress Armide has a symbolic, even double meaning. Many people recognize Louis himself in Renaud, who seeks to free himself from the oppression of Marie (as if from the spell of Armide). One of the lyricists of "The Deliverance of Renaud", Rene Bordieu, even compared the fiery image of the king with a phoenix, which could hint at the rise from the ashes because it also sounds like an allegory to getting rid off the pressure. Etienne Durand himself also said a lot of different words related to the costume, but there are so many of them that it is better to leave them for another post idk...

Anyways, each of these versions is wonderful in its own way, but the clothes of flame, which Louis demonstrated on himself that day, symbolized not only anger and a burning desire for revenge, but also those were clothes made of the light of justice and the desire for something light and devine like the enameled blades that reflected the light of countless torches and candles in motion, illuminating a hall full of spectators blinded by such a perfomance both literally and figuratively.

Plot twist.... On April 24, 1617, less than three months after the performance of La Délivrance de Renaud, Concino Concini was assassinated by the Baron de Vitry, captain of the royal guard. And about ten days later, Marie de Medici was exiled to Blois =)

Since then, Louis XIII became, in fact, a king but this time with all seriousness!

Personality: Rurimon is a very uptight digimon. He sees the world through lenses of “benefits” and “detriments” to the world. Through Kite he becomes more with his emotions and much more comfortable with himself. Through these two’s bond they are on the path to becoming the shining sun.

Profile: Kites little sister, she, much like other girls, is focused on enjoying her life. however her father's absence had left her with only her mother and brother. it's not long before her brothers new life finds her

Creature type: Kemono (beastly digimon with fur and stands on four legs, such as dogs, cats, and creatures similar)

Personality: Liolmon is an ambitious and hyperactive digimon. She is always zipping around and thinking of her next great adventure. Mary manages to keep her focused and later on tame the fearsome lion cub into a more restrained and cunning cat.

Character Profile: Lysander Lynx Luckett, a simple young man who finds himself being dragged into the world of digital monsters and the Digimon Hunters Association or DHA. he seeks a simple life however Life has a plan.

Personality: Labramon is quite possibly the closest a digimon has gotten to being identical to a dog in personality. He is loyal and affectionate to a fault. While he can't communicate with Lynx these two are practically able to understand each other, as if they read each other's mind. These two together will go from new Digimon hunters to possibly one of the greatest human and Digimon partners around.. as well as help lynx with his feelings for Evan

Profile: Evan Ha. a young man who is half American half Japanese. he is the first one to already be a part of the DHA. as he has a long difficult journey alongside his friends.

Personality: Kotemon is Evans' confident counterpart. He lives by a code of serving his partner, as well as fighting for what he believes is just. However he is above all the determination that drives Evans choice.. little do either know the dark date that awaits Kotemon.. the grim knight.

Creature type: Kemono.

Personality: created from Evans emotions after Kotemons death and subsequent death evolution and rampage. Pyontomon is a straightforward but rather respectful digimon. It knows Evan better than he knows himself. So whatever they plan, they are always on the same page.

Profile: A girl who has been treated poorly by her family. believed to be a mistake by her parents her femininity was forced away from her. now she feels lost. however this blossom shall soon bloom.

Creature type: Shokusei (plants and vegetation as well as fairies.)

Profile: a Digimon made of vegetation. Her appearance is very similar to a flower prior to blooming. Floramon embodies the traits Ren was never allowed to develop. This hence she is very much feminine in her personality, full of sass, headstrong, confident in who she is and able to look into herself and find beauty within. She is one of many who help Ren fully bloom.

Profile: The commander of the DHA, he is a man bound to his duty and his empathy. he will witness much, one being the death of a friend, he must rise above to aid and save his men and his people

Profile: Kudamon is Marcus's intellect. Allowing him to think things through and being able to pull Marcus out of an emotional outburst. Kudamon after years alongside Marcus knows him front to back, and the inverse is just as true.

Profile: Captain Teitoku's son, he is a prodigy and has let his skill get to his head, he is gifted with the bow and as a new digimon hunter he accels even farther. He will soon need to be humbled.

Profile: Ryudamon is the much more serious of the two between Samson and himself, Ryudamon acts as an anchor to keep Samson close to the ground so that way he doesn't get too big for his britches, however like always they still share a deep connection as Samson values Ryudamon’s opinions over anyone else's.

Profile: The vice commander of the DHA and Marcus's closest friend. Devin is a stubborn man and his partner Dracmon embodies that. He is a soldier first and puts his own life on the line. it will soon cost him.

Profile: the jovial of the two between him and Devin, Dracmon is a jokester and also deeply loyal to Devin though there is friction between the two as Devin becomes more and more like a soldier, as well as being overbearing at times. The two still respect each other but Dracmon will admit he is getting extremely frustrated with Devin.

Profile: Hyokomon is a very kind digimon, he is very open with his partner that he values her and actively cares for Falli. He also openly admits disdain for certain people such as Kite due to how brash he can be. To some it's almost like Hyokomon is Ethan reincarnated.

Profile: a Bio-myutant and Kuratas lap dog. He is a soldier through and through and only obeys those in power. He views all beneath him as tools to discard when they no longer have use. a true good soldier.

Creature type: Kishi (think of more humanoid Digimon that are less beast than man, these are commonly knightly Digimon and or Digimon with a more human appearance) 

Profile: an extremely Noble Digimon who has fought side by side with Tye for years, being one of the royal knights he is extremely close with King Yggdrasil. However Gankoomon is very critical of his King, believing that his methods need to change eventually. However nowadays his personality almost seems to switch being much more like his partner than his original self though there are still remnants of himself in there but it seems it's more like adopting certain traits from his partner than fully becoming him.

Profile: King yggdrasil in his current form. He has possessed the body of Tye Damon. The DHA believes he stole the body, but the truth is he was given it by Tye himself. all to help him hide from Nidhogg.

Laughing, she joked that clever people would name her ‘ la royne Anne sans tete', translated as Queen Anne Lackhead. Constable Kingston was perturbed at her levity, saying he had seen many men and women executed but that Anne showed 'much joy and pleasure in death'. She spent the night praying with her almoner. Before and after she received the sacrament, on damnation of her soul, she said she had 'never been unfaithful to the king'
