ANNE BOLEYN + Jewellery during her downfall.

Now, I was not expecting to make this post but have recently been delving deeper and was prompted by this lovely post by @calirphs.

The first piece of jewellery is her emerald necklace given by the King during their courtship, the same gift given to her with the whole court watching with Katherine catching them in a very flirty moment and Henry asks Anne to stay. She later wears it in the same episode when Katherine says he will tire of her and Anne dares to say "What if he does not". At the start of episode nine, season two she is fully aware she lost her lifeline and Jane Seymour is now very much a threat. What I find interesting about this scene is she is asking help from the French Ambassador for assistance from the French a foreign power - something that Katherine had had being a foreign Princess. In contrast, Anne did not have such a solid tie and everything she had laid with the English court. The second set is her coronation jewels - albeit the earrings are different or at the very least altered but I did not make that distinction till now - the first time she wears them she is at her zenith and most powerful, in episode nine after she has caught Jane with the necklace she puts on her coronation jewellery showing everyone she is an anointed queen and is seen doing her last what I call Queening and fulfilling her role. The third piece of jewellery is the cross necklace, now these are not the same but a lot of people thought they were meant to be the same necklace. This is the first gift given by Henry when she was simply Anne Boleyn. We see the first appearance of George and how close they are when she debuts the necklace, where in episode nine she is clutching onto the necklace watching him get executed with her crying in so much anguish. Here we are reminded that when she accepted this gift not only is she accepting her own future she also is accepting her family's futures. We also see the necklace when she is told her marriage is being annulled making her simply Anne Boleyn again. The last set is the tassle necklace and the pearl earrings. When last wearing these pieces Henry reminds her that he can pull her down as fast as he raised her, now in her final moments of her downfall he has done simply just that.
