Biggest project of this year, and of course the one that was finished a little late- a gorgeous cosy cardigan for my mum! She has been wearing it constantly like a dressing gown in our freezing house!
Yarn: James C Brett Marble Chunky in MC49
Pattern: ‘Ausable’ by Amy Christoffers on Ravelry - I added pockets because my mum always likes them

Scalloped Edged Blanket❤️

Just wanted a more basic project to pass the time. This blanket is soooo soft, I love the way it turned out! Something to keep me snug and warm for the winter 😊
Yarn used: James C Brett Marble Chunky Yarn (red shades)

This is my Mama.
Backstory:
You may remember that a while go I knitted myself a funky cardigan to go with my fabulously sunshiny @lucyandyak dungarees (pics for evidence) using gorgeous James C Brett Marble Chunky, bought from my LYS @awoolshoplowestoft whose lovely curator Anna calls it "Autumn in a ball". Knitting it, I held it with mohair which has made it super soft and snuggly, and muted the colours beautifully.
So, I wore it to visit my parents. And my Mum coveted it. I promised to make her one. Trouble is... she can't wear natural fibres other than cotton, and holding cotton with it was never going to work. I managed to source some brushed acrylic in a sumptuous buttery yellow and TA-DAH!
I am SO pleased with the fit. Mum has impossibly (elegant, obvs) long arms, and loves a good pocket, and here you can see the sleeves are very generous and her hands buried.
I am a relieved and happy knitter.
And I keep promising the pattern but life has been getting in the way. It's in the works!

My houndstooth scarf sold last Tuesday in the 5 minutes my partner was there before he had to go pick up a sick kiddo! Which means I needed to make another scarf!
So Sunday I made a new one :) Behold:
Tumblr media
Used my 5 dpi reed for this one and it came out perfect :3 As always, my picture doesn't do the colors justice. It's James C Brett Marble Chunky yarn in M38 so it's actually super pretty and soft.
This stuff here:

I think I'm gonna make another one in a Leno weave. Or maybe I could rig up a second heddle using my 10dpi reed and learn how to make some of the other fun weaves?

I've made the granny squares (and two triangles) for my next project. Unsurprisingly, it's another bag! I'm following the same pattern for the green moon one just with regular granny squares instead.
This one is using James C Brett chunky marble yarn, I have 3 colourways that I am using in this, but I can't remember which ones they are, haha
I will be leaving them on the blocking board overnight and putting them all together tomorrow and adding in the lining and hardwear.

Latest knitting project completed, jumper in James C Brett Marble Chunky for my Wife. I even managed to stop the Cheeto drooling on it too much while I was making it xD
Yes I knit sleeves two at a time otherwise I get major Second Sleeve Syndrome and things never get finished.

The Big Blue Blanket is done!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think this takes over as my largest finished project. It’s just over five and a half foot square, and ended up using around 1800grams of James C. Brett marble chunky yarn in a variety of colours. It fits nicely over a double bed with a fair amount of drape on the sides.
The braided joining used a continuous technique, courtesy of @hooked-at-weiss, which was useful for minimising the number of ends I had to sew in (there could have been more than 400 if I’d stuck to my original plan, instead there were only 200 or so....). The border is simply double crochets (UK treble crochets), with some half-double crochets to help with the shaping on the corners.

To think, this was just a giant pile of yarn last September. The last 7 months of effort have definitely been worth it.

Finally actually knit a whole thing again. Slapdash execution of this rad pattern. I used Lion Brand Landscapes Dune (203) for the brim and then changed to James C. Brett Marble Chunky MC46.
I accidently did four extra rounds knitting on the plane, and I've obviously skipped the braid and second brim (time constraints of travel, getting sick, and not being a particularly skillful knitter), but I'm actually really happy with it.
It feels good to make things.

I love your Mexican vacation blanket! Is it just squares wip stitched together. If so your seems are perfect!
The mexican vacation blanket? Its all one piece with alternate stripes of black and James C Brett Marble Chunky in Rainforest.
Maybe you meant the stash buster diagonal squares blanket? yes it is whip stitched together, I have posted other pics on tumblr stating this. Just experienced whip stitching from all of the pixel blankets I’ve made. Thank you!

Made myself a little one-man picnic rug for the upcoming festival! It’s not waterproof or anything so I’ll only be able to use it if it’s dry, but the moss stitch means it’s pretty thick and durable!
Pattern: A simple moss-stitch flat square (I used Blossom Crochet’s tutorial), with the additions like the strap and clasps improvised
Yarn: Main body is James C Brett Marble Chunky - MC32, the rest is a hodge-podge of various navy blues! Gotta love stash-busting, hehe

It's about time I started posting here! A long while back I promised a friend that if she donated to Planned Parenthood or an LGBTQIA charity, I would make her a hat. She donated right after Darth Cheeto's election, so here is her hat. Potential problem: this colorway has been discontinued! Heaven help me if I run out! James C Brett Marble Chunky Yarn (MC31). 6mm hook. Pattern link: http://www.bhookedcrochet.com/2015/01/06/free-puff-stitch-hat-pattern/
