Chris: When I join this friend group I thought you guys would be dealing with my bullshit.

Unfair (Jim Street Imagine)
Summary: Hondo pulls you aside for a chat about your feelings for Street. You’re frustrated he didn’t have the same conversation with him.
It was a quiet afternoon at the precinct after another grueling shift. Most of the team had already filed out, heading home to unwind. But not you. You preferred staying back, giving yourself a moment to breathe before heading out into the world outside of work.
But apparently, someone had noticed.
You were sitting at a desk, flipping through paperwork and trying to clear your mind, when you heard the familiar sound of Hondo’s boots on the floor. You didn’t need to look up to know it was him; his presence filled the room, commanding attention without him even saying a word.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice calm but sharp, like he was about to dive into something he already knew.
You looked up, a small frown tugging at your lips. “What’s up, Hondo?”
He didn’t waste any time, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took a few steps closer. “I see the way you look at him.”
You blinked, taken aback for a moment. Him? There was only one person he could be talking about. You felt a flush of heat rise to your face, and for a moment, you could’ve sworn you stopped breathing.
“Street?” you asked, keeping your voice cool, but inside, your stomach was twisting. You’d worked so hard to keep things professional, to keep yourself in check. And now, here was Hondo, calling you out on it.
He nodded, his expression unreadable. “Yeah, Street. I’m not blind, Y/N. I see how you look at him. How he looks at you.”
Your pulse quickened, a knot forming in your throat. You’d always prided yourself on maintaining a professional distance, on keeping the rest of the team at arm’s length. But Hondo was right, you had been looking at Street differently lately. His presence had started to mean more than it should.
The frustration already bubbling to the surface, when you stood up abruptly, your chair scraping against the floor. “Is that so?” You crossed your arms, your eyes hardening. “And what exactly do you want me to do with that information?”
Hondo didn’t flinch. He knew you well enough to understand your walls were already going up. “I’m not trying to tell you what to do, Y/N. But I can tell you’re holding back. And I’m just saying… you’re not fooling anyone.”
You exhaled sharply, the anger bubbling up, a mix of frustration and confusion. “It’s not about fooling anyone, Hondo,” you snapped, your voice rising with each word. “It’s about respect. It’s about boundaries. I’ve kept my distance from everyone for a reason. I don’t want to complicate things. And now you’re coming at me like I’m some kind of problem?”
Hondo’s eyes softened, but there was an edge of concern there. “Y/N—”
“No,” you interrupted, taking a step back as your frustration boiled over. “I’m not a problem. I’ve kept myself in check. I’ve kept everyone at arm’s length for so long. And somehow, I’m the one being called out?” You felt your blood pressure rise, and before you could stop yourself, you were shouting, “Does Street get the same treatment from you, Hondo? Is that how it works? Or is it just me, because I’m a woman?”
Hondo didn’t answer right away, and that was all it took for you to make up your mind. Your hands were trembling with anger as you turned toward the door, the weight of his words too much to bear.
You stormed out of the office, not even sparing Hondo another glance. You needed to get away.
---
You didn’t realize how much of a storm was brewing inside you until you stepped outside, the cool air hitting your skin, but it did nothing to calm the fire building in your chest. You were angry, confused, and most of all… hurt.
The frustration bubbled over, and you started walking with purpose, wanting to put as much distance between yourself and Hondo’s words as possible. But as you passed the parking lot, you came face-to-face with Street. Of course.
He was leaning against his motorcycle, a casual smirk on his lips, the kind of smile that always made your heart stutter in your chest. But right now, you were not in the mood.
“Hey, Y/N,” he greeted, clearly unaware of the storm that was brewing within you. “You look like you just—”
“I’m not in the mood for your usual antics right now, Street,” you snapped, not sparing him a glance.
The playful smile faded from his face, and for a moment, he was silent, watching you. “Whoa. Okay, what’s going on?”
You stopped, turning toward him, your eyes flashing with frustration. “You know what’s going on, Street. Hondo just had a little chat with me, pointing out how obvious it is that I look at you a certain way.” You paused, your anger rising again. “Apparently, I’m not as good at hiding it as I thought.”
Street’s face softened, but you could see the confusion there. “Wait… Hondo called you out for that?”
“Yes!” you shouted, throwing your arms up in exasperation. “And I’m pissed. He’s acting like I’m some problem for looking at you the way I do. It’s unfair, Street! Does he say the same thing to you? Does he treat you like this too?”
His expression shifted from confusion to concern. He pushed off the motorcycle, stepping toward you, but you took a step back, already knowing what he was going to say.
“No, Y/N. Hondo’s just trying to look out for you. You’ve been keeping your distance for a reason. He sees that.”
“That’s not the point!” you almost shouted, your voice breaking with the weight of it all. “It’s not fair, Street. I’ve done everything right, kept it professional, kept my walls up. But I guess that’s not enough, is it? I’m still being judged.”
Street’s face softened, but there was no judgment in his eyes, only understanding. Slowly, he stepped forward again, but this time, you didn’t move away. His hand gently brushed against your arm, a silent offer of comfort.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, barely audible, but Street heard it. His thumb brushed lightly over your arm, his touch soft and reassuring.
“No need to apologize,” he said, offering you a small, understanding smile. “But hey, maybe next time, you won’t have to storm out so dramatically.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, despite yourself. It was just like Street to make light of a situation. And in that moment, you realized—you didn’t have to have it all figured out right away. You didn’t want to push him away.

“Vojago” & “The Last Manicorn”
A long, long time ago, the Jenny Everywhere Day team had the pleasure of runnin E. G. Bivins's mysterious illustration of a rather tough-looking Jenny wearing a Viking helmet, scarf and jacket blowing in the wind, astride a bulky, futuristic vehicle.
A slightly shorter time ago, we also shared the announcement of the Kickstarter for Issue #12 of the small-run anthology comic Earth, which was to feature a new Jenny Everywhere comic by Jim Street: The Last Manicorn.
Unless they were lucky enough to grab iEarth , our readers might never have known that these were two glimpses of the same Jenny's life, representing two linked stories: Vojago and the aforementioned Manicorn. But now, with Earth long-since defunct, and so too Vojago's short-lived web upload on Tapastic in 2016, the time has come for both of these lost chapters to be rehosted on JED, with the kind permission of Jim Street — and never-before-revealed details on the unfinished storylines which the two stories served to introduce!
Read under the cut to discover once and for all the answers to such questions as: can robots become zombies? What's a Manicorn, anyway? And just who, or what, is 'Mother'?
1 - Jenny Everywhere in “Vojago”

2 - Jenny Everywhere in “The Last Manicorn”

2 - What Could Have Been?
According to Jim Street, who was kind enough to chat with us in 2023:
You are correct, the story has yet to be complete (and will likely stay that way). But I'm happy to share the comic you mentioned and the slight continuation of it in a related comic. They both got published in a very small print-run anthology via Kickstarter. The artist on "Vojago" no longer wished to be associated with the project so their credit is listed as [redacted] with their permission. (…) Those comic stories did not start as overlapping projects, but they took a really long time, so I changed them all to fit into one anthology. (…) In my "Earth" series there was a computer that gained sentience and wanted to acquire as much information as it could. So it created an avatar (Jenny) that would explore the Earth to gather data and experiences. The computer would guide Jenny to desired data by releasing information about the whereabouts of her "mother." When one avatar expired, the memories would be loaded to the computer's databanks. Earth #13 was to have Jenny and Mani (the Last Manicorn) conscripted to join Space Patrol and leave earth, which would trigger the creation of another Jenny. When the new Jenny begins operating, the computer realizes that there is a gap in the archive caused by Jenny leaving Earth. So the new Jenny is commanded to go and collect the missing archive, which culminates in a Jenny vs Jenny showdown in space. Through this the computer learns about how vast the universe really is and modifies the operational parameters to permit multiple Jennys operating at the same time. And that's basically what I had drafted for Jenny in my comic series. But who knows, maybe I'll get around to make the comic of that one day….
Well, we can only hope!

if you never bleed, you're never gonna grow (but it's all right now)
Chapter 1: said "i'm fine" (but it wasn't true)
A series of platonic and romantic Stris one-shots detailing the moments after the heaviness. The conversations in the dawn, the tears wiped away over midnight picnics, and how Chris and Street grow through their lives. Tags updated with each new chapter/chapters note the episode they're inspired by.

HELLO :)
i just finished the sixth season of SWAT and let me say, this series is amazing i loved every single moment of this season. it never disappoints, nothing is too much, not a single thing ruined, i’m really happy atm.
possible spoilers of SWAT:
so let’s start saying there was a little lack in the plot. Chris not being there was sad, but i think Powell was a very interesting personage, and i’d love to know more about her. i hope the next season shows us her reconnection with her child, because she deserves to be happy; another thing i’d like to see is Tan with a girl that finally loves his, not that cheating girl that doesn’t deserves a thing. Street’s relationship with Chris is strange to immagine because there isn’t any scene of them together, so it was a little bit strange, and hearing they’re going to move in together… i don’t know man, i’m not sure what it’s going to happen. i also would like to see more scene of Commander Hicks with Maggie, i want them to be a real couple because with all the thing they’ve been through, they deserve to be happy. i didn’t get why at some point they stopped to show us the relationship between Luca and her sister Eva, i get that they didn’t have the best relationship, but why putting her personage away? i’m so happy Hondo and Nichelle finally had their baby, and are going to be married, i like them so much. Deacon’s personage it’s pretty much basic, it’s always the same every season, the best father you could ask for, the best husband, a great officer… boring after some time i guess, but i still like him after all. one thing i didn’t get is this switch between Powell and Cabrera, at some point i was lost, i didn’t understand who was who, what they were doing, which was the role for the two of them… completely lost :’).
in conclusion, this series is wonderful, i really like it, and this season was amazing. i know i’m gonna miss them all when it’s going to be over, but i’m glad i followed this series from the very beginning
see ya next time, -Jus

Bisque-it, 54 James Street. Lomo LC-A+
It is becoming obvious to anyone who looks at this blog in any detail that I seem to like frequenting coffee shops and cafes. One recent discovery was Bisque-it.
Although they do serve some really tasty plant based foods and great coffee their website states "pottery painting is our core function allowing you to experience the benefits of taking time to create something unique & individual to you."
The space is glass fronted so even in the dullest of weather the cafe is bathed in bright natural light.

✨️✨️✨️✨️ please. I love it so much.
✨️- “Deac, what’s up with you?” Hondo asks, one morning, leaning against his locker. He’s trying to be subtle, but subtle has never been one of Hondo’s specialties. Deacon has to hand it to him though. Hondo and the rest of the team lasted a lot longer than he thought they would originally. He supposes that’s a downside to the whole found family, you love the way you work thing that they have going on here at 20-squad. They’re all up in each other’s business. Something can’t happen without the others knowing about it, and to be honest, Deacon’s impressed that he’s managed to keep it in this long. The team, they’re everything to him, them, Annie, and now Evan. They tell each other everything. Deacon’s never been able to keep things from them, they know him just as well as Annie knows him if not more.
“Yeah, what’s up? You’re not leaving, or something, are you?” Street teases but Deacon’s heart cracks at the small hint of abandonment he hears in the kid’s voice, the same type he sees written all over Evan’s face. He hates how he notices it now; he hates how sensitive he is to it, and he hates that Street has it.
