Starting Arcane season 2!

And wow, ep 1 really starts with a bang

How??? Are Mel and Jayce okay??? Mel's back was literally facing the window when Jinx's sharpedo attack hit, and yet she doesn't have a scratch on her. In the s1 finale before it hit, her back had like? A gold pattern on it? Does she have some kind of secret armor? And then she protected Jayce? That's cool if so. Did she always have that or is that a new gift from her mom since her bro died. Makes sense that a war family would literally have tech to protect their backside from attacks.

Maddie!! Is a cutie and I'm glad she survived the memorial attack. Also holy shit the memorial attack. Jinx is really coming out swinging. And she got the vulture lady on her side too. Gonna be honest, I didn't think Jinx had the leadership to pull that together. Although who knows, maybe Vulture Lady put that all together herself.

The funeral scene in the beginning was so well done too. I really like that purple flower tree. Kiiiiinda worried about where Caitlyn's story is going. Like the revenge thing, obvious. But whatever the Kiramman secret legacy thing is with the scary old timey drawings is, hm. Also Caitlyn's "decorated officer" speech when she clapped back at that councilman, hm. Her change was a little too quick for me, but this show moves fast in general, so.

Vi! Becoming an Enforcer is like, what, but joining the special ops team makes a little more sense. At least in that she'll get access to places easier. Also Jayce making the hextech weapons, wow. And Mel was trying so hard to prevent that, aw. Oh, forgot to mention, I like Vi's drunk friend. Who is also an Enforcer I guess? Idk why HE'S on the special ops team, but I'm happy he's along for the ride too. Maybe I just like big guys idk. I miss Vander. 😭

Viktor.... Idk dude. No thoughts on Viktor. Except maybe his situation is how we'll see the alt universe stuff? Maybe? I want that, show me the alt universe Zaundads please.

Arcane characters react to a bump in the night

Characters: Sevika, Vi, Mel, Jayce, Viktor, Caitlyn, Jinx, Isha, Ekko, Heimerdinger, Ambessa, Silco.

Warnings: SFW. Some characters are written as x reader where they’re implied to be sharing a bed/in a relationship. Jinx’s bit has a mentally unwell sort of vibe that could be interpreted as suicidal ideation.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Sevika:

Before you even get the chance to be scared, Sevika stirs and mumbles a bit, groggily sits up, and fully fires away in the direction of the noise blasting that corner of the room to holy hell. Then she collapses back down and promptly resumes snoring.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Vi:

You hear a sort of scratching noise and both of you wake up, but you don’t really gaf. Vi, on the other hand, springs into action and is all “Babe, get behind me, I’ll kick its ass,” etc. She tiptoes off to investigate and you’re all like “Babe its fine it was probably the wind I’m not even scared just come back to bed” and she’s like “NO! I will protect you” and it ends up being like a single emaciated rat in the garbage.

“Wow babe I’m so glad you were here to protect me from such a terrifying apex predator, that could’ve gotten ugly quick.”

“Can it, sleeping beauty.”

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Mel:

This absolute princess is a really light sleeper, so she’s immediately up. But she doesn’t wanna wake you, so she ignores it. Then it happens again and she wakes you up gently and is all like “Darling? Would you check that out for me? The sound has just been persisting and I’m a bit nervous.” So you go and it’s nothing to worry about and she’s apologetic and you’re all “no worries love, better safe than sorry.” And she has you give her back scratches. Cause she’s a sensitive artist type and needs to chill out so she can go back to sleep.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Jayce:

Hears nothing, sleeps through it. He snores loud like a middle aged father in an armchair.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Viktor:

Viktor is probably up anyways, couldn’t sleep. He’s posted up at his desk reading by candlelight or reviewing notes/drafting something sciencey. He studies in silence so he hears it, assesses, and realizes its not a threat. Decides it’s not worth investigating unless it persists and becomes annoying.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Caitlyn:

I would say that Caitlyn sleeps through it because she’s lived a charmed life, but on second thought the Jinx shower kidnapping thing would probably give her a bit of a paranoid edge, especially regarding home invasions. In a sleepy daze, she reaches into the bedside drawer, grabs the glock, and tucks it in bed with her like a teddy bear. Also I think she goes to bed listening to NPR or some niche history podcast.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Jinx:

Her eyes open wide immediately, and the knee-jerk fear response gets her heart pumping. As we know, her stress reactions are a little inconsistent and she seeks out conflict, doesn’t like to let things rest. I think it would somehow excite her and she would sit up in bed, pick at her cuticles or play with a nearby weapon/gadget as she waits for either death or a brawl. Or she might seek out the source for violence purposes depending on what she’s feeling in the moment. Diva is combative. Actually, I take it back I think she would always go out and investigate every little bump in the night — one of the many reasons her sleep cycle is so inconsistent. She’d tear through all her belongings searching for it. There’d be audible crashes and she’d make a huge mess of her room. It’d drive her up the wall if she couldn’t find it. Until something distracted her enough to get her to return to bed.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Isha:

Isha wakes up and immediately thinks monster under the bed? She dangles a shoelace or a sock over the edge of the bed to see if the monster bites, cause she’s a smart kid. Nothing does and she tiptoes over to Jinx’s area (cautious and stepping lightly because you can never be too careful with these under-the-bed-monsters) and wakes her up by tugging gently on her braid. She points furiously to the closet and Jinx makes a big show of investigating every nook and cranny. She’s saying something like “Hereee furry monster. Pssst pssst… Come out come out wherever you are, ugly.” She sets up “monster booby traps” with bits and bobs and trinkets. “No scaly ne’erdowell is getting past the Fang Destroyer 5000, I can tell you that much.”

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Ekko:

Ekko sleeps like the dead. And he wears headphones to bed and listens to metal and noisecore. He didn’t hear a damn thing. There could be a majorette kickline complete with a marching band drum sequence making its way through the tree and trust he would remain slumbered up. Snoozepilled to the max.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Heimerdinger:

He’s def got a white noise machine or he listens to whale sounds to get to bed. Yordles have excellent hearing though so he probably woke up immediately. Idk how this fits with actual lore but I feel like yordles would have prey instincts. Something tells me Heimerdinger burrows deeper in his blanket like he’s having a predator fight or flight response. And he’s like. Trembling involuntarily. However, he is a man of science, so he talks himself through it. “’Tis but a shifting floorboard! Perhaps some rowdy vermin. Nothing to obsess over — the likely scenario is that I am safe in my home, and should go back to sleep. I must get my rest so I can approach the morning with a healthy body and a fresh mind!”

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Ambessa:

Ambessa hears it cause she’s got ears like a hawk (do hawks have ears…?) but she goes back to bed because she’s got people to handle that. And if someone surprise attacks her she can definitely take them in her sleep.

ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 Silco:

“Sevika, investigate that for me.”

My very unorganized thoughts on S2 of Arcane but only about Viktor

Alright I finally had time to think and write everything down so here we go. I want to preface that I have been weary about this season ever since I watched the act 1 leaks. Mainly because it was very clear he was never going to be a machine, and they didn't give him enough screen time to develop his motivations into ACT 3 Viktor being convincing enough

LET'S START WITH THE FALSE PROPHET VIKTOR

Alright so he has about 11 minutes ish of screentime. Aside from the glaring issue of Jayce reviving him and not destroying the hexcore, taking away agency from a disabled character. It was clearly a false prophet situation, but it was so fucking confusing on whether he could feel like a regular human, if he was under the Hexcore's control which makes the agency issue worse or just jaded. He all of a sudden starts speaking like he's reading Deuteronomy passages ?? We don't know for sure if he's aware that he's basically creating a hive mind now, did he start his plans of making everyone into one right here? Sky seems to encourage him to do this, what does she know about it since shes been in the hexcore ALONE for a little longer? (writers didnt confirm whether it was the real her or not) . Act 1 Viktor's issues are mostly about agency, and a seeming full abandonment of his identity as a scientist, his personality does a full 180. He doesn’t seem to question that the object that revived him and killed Sky is giving him healing powers, but he’s angry at Jayce so we have no clue if he’s being controlled or not.

The show doesn't seem to care to spend time with him bc Isha and Ambessa I guess.

Anyways lets move on to not even act 2, but ep 6, his only episode in this act.

I had huge gripes with this episode, mainly because whatever the fuck was going on with Viktor trying to "keep" Vander's humanity, when he clearly was taking it away from everyone he touched, does he actually believe what he's saying or is he under the Hexcore's control still?. Obviously the glaring issues of Sky being there without any actual input, they're cosmic friends I guess but with very generic lines, and the fandom has to fill in the blanks with whatever Amanda Overton feels like saying about Sky in the moment(if we don't see it in the show I don't take it as her development, sorry). So Viktor builds Colloidal silver drinking Joshua tree and ppl think it's fucking Eden, Jinx calls him a Machine Herald when there's NO SIGN OF MACHINERY JUST PURPLE MAGICAL METAL LOOKING FLESH. We get a whole ass different realm with no explanation other than, oh yeah Viktor is inside there. Jayce comes in and almost kills him. The only option there is at this point is for Singed to start his MH era. The choice of becoming MH is nonexistent now, other people have to jumpstart things for him. I know some people interprete this commune as Viktor achieving his dreams, thinking he was being himself, that he was in paradise with Sky and.. that wasn’t the case for me.. it was extremely sinister. Worst part of this Act, is that MH was seemingly a damn trial experiment for Orianna.

BONUS:

So it seems that Christian Linke has confirmed Sky was the hexcore using its influence to manipulate viktor into the glorious evolution. He said it was meant to be as a misdirect. So to everyone who got dunked on here for “wanting to be spoonfed” or “not reading into it deep enough” for thinking he was being mind controlled, you were right about it being the hexcore. Viktor has been confirmed to have no agency until episode 9 I guess. He also mentioned Viktor’s goal was getting the most power/influence… we never saw a fucking glimpse of this in season one I’m sorry.

ACT 3

First awful problem here is obviously Singed having to jumpstart things. Viktor is aware for his choice of whatever is happening with the egg thing. Yet....there's still no sign of machinery. We get a scene where Sky fucking dies again, he refers to her as Ms Young, which im guessing is a parallel to the other time he dismissed her in S1. But of course we get the double fridging in the show, cuz making female characters just for the sake of advancing her crush's plot line is sooo amazing. Here lies sky, the character who is barely a character. Well after that we get the sequence of his transformation and we get that butt ugly mask. His personality does another huge change again. So we know the hexcore is not influencing him anymore as the hexcore completed its goal of the glorious evolution.. so I guess viktor really does think this is the right way?

A huge issue I have again, is the lack of agency. In this particular scene Jayce goes "My partner died in this room" yeah..Viktor didn't fully choose to become this right? it all started with Jayce using the hexcore on him, it’s been manipulating him the whole ass season…Kinda wish there was some sort of acknowledgement from Jayce that he’s basically the catalyst of this.

He gets his laser because...fanservice. There's no way he went all the way to the lab and magically attached it to himself just to cut off a wall. He keeps going on that choice is false, but a few minutes before he said he’d evolve all of those willing?

In the cosmos, beautiful sequence. I don’t love Jayce’s dialogue choices(about his disease) here and then it all being about viktor hating himself.. since the hexcore was leading to all of this, his motivation for it all being self hatred feels a bit eh. The sequence is beautiful and Jayce and Viktor destroying the anomaly with the rune shard is nice, that part was cute. But then they kinda disappear and we only know that viktor is alive so far, no clue about Jayce. The sequence is touching towards the end and I’m a sucker for characters finding each other in every timeline/universe but it can’t make up for all the other things that are bothering me. This seems to be the one time Viktor has some sort of agency I guess.

Then obviously the worst part that will bother me forever. The thing that made me almost slam my laptop shut

This retcon is just awful I shouldn’t even have to say why, it makes things fucking weird and it’s frankly stupid. Also viktor can’t rock a beard like that.

Anyways this is very disorganized, fuck you riot I felt like an insane former this whole time but I was right.

on arcane and the sin of naivety

ripped this from a twitter rant i had:

another arcane observation bc i'm watching ep7: obv we have to prepare for some both side-isms come season 2, but i think a way that the writers can (and have) circumvented this problem is thru how/why arcane characters are punished: their naivety.

everybody (save for ambessa and silco, and maybe mel too) operates from their own place of well-intentioned ignorance. jayce is the most obv example of this, but the contrast between cait and ekko is even better, i think re: their meeting in ep7.

cait sincerely thinks that there can be healing between piltover/zaun bc of her inexperience, whereas ekko is sure it's impossible bc he's bore the brunt of the enforcers' abuse - he's the least naïve character in the whole show. how the writers dealt with this is Crucial.

if the both side-isms were implicit in the writers' ethos, we wouldn't see the enforcers stand idly by while marcus *almost* kills 2 innocents in cold blood. it goes Beyond the bad apple cop and into a full anti-establishment ethos. thru violence, cait's naivety is broken just like ekko had insisted! and THEN they have a showdown between the 2 most jaded/hurt characters, ekko and jinx, to contrast the cait/vi relationship that is still underscored by blind hope. jinx and ekko don't have that luxury, and it foreshadows vi's s2 alliance with piltover.

and this theme is everywhere, beyond ep7. jayce's entire arc hinges on his insistence that he is still naive, so he can't be blamed for his very consequential choices. viktor insists that knowledge for knowledge's sake still exists and that's why he's destroying himself. and mel falls back onto her childhood self to explain away her own penchant for manipulation/bad choices. she's fascinating though because she's the closest of the bunch to undoing her role in this dynamic when ambessa returns (which is why i hope sm that she isn't dead in s2).

also, this transition from ignorance to jaded understanding is done SO WELL via the timeskip, and that's why i'm fairly certain that they'll have another in ep4 of s2. it makes so much sense. there is a lot of painful learning to be done post missile attack.

TLDR: arcane punishes characters for their ignorance and naivety, and their unique realizations of this fact will lead to their undoing in season 2! i love this show so much.

Ok so you've activated my rant card (I mean this with joy, I love talking about this kind of thing and I do enjoy the show they just did like abysmally for representation)

Here is why ekko rings as an empty/token character to me:

1. We get no personal motivations for him. We had three whole episodes of character setup for our characters. By the time we get to progress day, we solidly know what every character is about, and why seven years later they would end up in the places they did. Except for ekko. Sure he lost benzo, but what does that mean? All we ever see from that is him crying with vi. Why is he running the firelights? Did he start this group? What got him passionate enough to start all this? How did he find the tree? Why is he so jaded now? How does he feel about how things went down for vi and powder? Why does he hate jinx? (For those who dont know, that last one was apparently Supposed to be answered, but was among one of the MANY ekko scenes they decided to cut for time.) Genuinely we get better character drive for Marcus. We barely get to know his thoughts on anything, let alone see his downtime. The only exception to that is when hes playing at being someone else in the au episode. Which leads me into my next point-

2. He is always only used as a plot piece for the white characters. We only see him in the au in service of having an au episode, furthering jinxs plotline, and getting his time power in time to kind of help stop victor. In the game he always had it, he would use it as a kid to make dinners with his family last longer, and worked on furthering it when he was older to save his friend, that he ended up not being able to save in the end. That's interesting! That's something for him to have on his own, that's a driving force for why hes doing things. And when this

Is genuinely the best characterization for him? Theres a problem. (He also falls into the black hair tropes of white hair and that specific short dreads with the side shave look to make him look cool, but since the white hair was a problem with the original character design in a load bearing way, and dreads do work for his character I dont necessarily consider them the worst offenses. Can we Please explore some other hair styles though I swear his look is begging for some twists, or maybe some box braids). And otherwise, his screen time is next to nothing. I want to say season one he gets less than ten minutes total. They treat him as if hes a main character to further the plot, but the moment it doesnt matter to the more important main characters hes discarded.

3. He doesnt get to be questioned. Every single character in this show is grey in some way, except for ekko. He is lorded as an absolute moral good by the show, but we dont actually get to see what that means. We barely actually get to know how he feels about shimmer divorced from silco, let alone any of his politics in regard to zauns freedom. Hes put on a pedestal of "the good guy" without actually letting that mean or accomplish anything aside from being something pretty to look at. A token. They almost do better by sevika, if they didnt fully ignore her after the parts they needed her for in the first half of season 2, not let her mourn or even find out about the people she cared about dying, didn't let her participate in the last episode, and then did her the disservice of being the only zaunite voice on the council when it runs on majority vote (I'm sorry there is No fucking way shes rolling over and taking that deal after how much shes devoted to fighting for zaun)

4. HE FUCKING WORKS WITH THE COLONIZER OF ZAUN AS A FRIEND AND MENTOR. HELLO. I have so many problems with how heimerdinger was portrayed as a constant voice of reason, but the fact that in ADDITION to that they make him buddy buddy with ekko? Makes it incredibly clear that they have no fucking idea what they're saying.

All in all, on the surface? Ekkos awesome! Ekko is really cool and fighting for an important cause! But the moment you look past that there is almost nothing to him character wise. And when hes the only black character they use culturally black ties for outside of hair, and the only main black zaunite character? It rubs me wrong.

so i've written prose for the first time in literally six months and it's about the antagonists who've had two canon scenes together. god bless!!! basically jade @jadeandquartzes and i were like, hey, what if porter needed jace's help to not die all those times he did the ambrosia thing? and also they had a terrible horrible situationship? &then we wrote so so many words about it. it’s gonna be five chapters, one uploaded each day until the fhjy finale drops. hope you enjoy!!

Immortal characters like vampires and gods and whatever are always depicted as being apathetic to downright delusional as a byproduct of their immortality.

Being godlike and powerful makes them jaded and unempathetic (Greek gods in media) and the restless search for connection and validation makes them delightfully delusional and manipulative (many of the vampires in Interview)

But then you move into the robotic vein of immortality and you find a completely different kind of emotional composition entirely.

I was chatting with @rxmain-lettuce and essentially listing off every popular robot in media these days from Wheatley and Glados to AM and Auto.

When you have a character achieve immortality it so often comes with the consequence of depression and loneliness. The immortal’s loved ones pass on and they watch decades pass them by. It results in a character inherently out of touch with reality.

Even well meaning immortals in media like Heimerdinger (Arcane) are slightly deluded in an outdated or lofty way of thinking.

And then you have immortal robots who are anything but apathetic and jaded.

Robots like Glados and AM who completely sidestep apathy by being so hatefully vengeful

It’s almost what keeps them alive.

But then you get into robots like Auto or Five Pebbles who aren’t directly hateful but are antagonistic simply because their intended purpose no longer aligns with that of the human protagonists.

It’s also important for me to mention that I’m largely talking about antagonistic robots. There are plenty of friendly robots in media, however I feel that the characterization of an evil robot is something set into our very history with technology.

I mean the whole idea of “robots are going to kill all of humanity” could’ve started as early as 1900 when the poster, “An Unrestrained Demon” was prevalent.

We’ve always feared technological advances and personally I think we should go back to thinking about how robots are gonna take over the world. The his who thought of that and made movies out of those ideas were genius.

Also just chewing on the fact that Silco adopted Powder/Jynx and that even when she has entirely fucked something up he still protects her. Like he throws his own men under the bus. He killed Vander. Sevika is on thin ice. But Daughter? Daughter is safe. How?? Why??

Also continuing to watch Jayce and Viktor like. Ok, I *see* the orufrey parallels, especially with Viktor in hospital now, I understand why people connect those dots, but also just like. No. It's not them! I'm not buying it. I still think Vander/Silco is the real orufrey parallel. Just like. The nightmare version of them where everything went wrong. The Qifrey turned Brimhat version of them. It's the dad vibe! Jayvik just doesn't have it.

Finally started watching Arcane because tags said there was a toxic devoted yaoi pair and I cannot help myself i will collect them all in my little pockets

The humid New York night clung to Felicia Hardy like a second skin as she shimmied across the gargoyle-laden rooftop. Moonlight glinted off her emerald green bodysuit, the sleek fabric whispering promises of forgotten treasures and daring escapes. Tonight's target: The Oculus of Odin, a legendary sapphire rumored to grant the power of foresight.

Felicia, better known as Black Cat, had a healthy skepticism for such mystical nonsense. But the hefty payday promised by a mysterious collector, a man shrouded in more secrecy than a Gotham sewer, had piqued her interest. Besides, a little light danger always kept the adrenaline pumping.

The building loomed before her, a gothic monstrosity that seemed to sprout from the very bedrock of the city. Its windows, dark and lifeless, held an unsettling, watchful air. Reaching the rooftop access, Felicia bypassed the rusted fire escape with practiced ease, her movements a silent testament to years of honing her craft.

A skylight, thankfully unlocked, provided entry. Inside, the air hung heavy with the scent of dust and decay. Cobwebs draped precariously from the vaulted ceiling, and shadows danced like phantoms in the flickering moonlight that filtered through the grimy windows.

Felicia, ever the pragmatist, dismissed the spooky ambiance. This was just another dusty antique store masquerading as a high-security vault. Still, a prickle of unease crawled up her spine as she navigated the labyrinthine corridors, her footsteps echoing in the oppressive silence.

Finally, she reached a heavy oak door, intricately carved with runes that sent a shiver down her spine. It was here, according to the collector's cryptic instructions, that the Oculus resided.

Jade Shadows update coming June 18!

features a new cinematic quest: Jade Shadows. It picks up after The New War (so it's got TNW as a prerequisite) where the storyline of the Stalker left off. Rebb and the crew request that folks not spoil the quest for others after playing it. Use spoiler tags if possible! Quest runtime ~ 25 min There's a teaser for the story quest, featuring the Stalker hanging upside down like a bat:

New Warframe: Jade!

Pablo describes her as a support frame. Her passive is two aura mod slots which is kind of crazy ngl

Her kit briefly summarized:

1: throws a little mote with an AOE effect of healing for allies and increasing damage taken to enemies

2: cycle through various squad buffs. The UI art for these is really gorgeous

3: a debuff: enemies in her sight are slowed and lose armor. You also revive any dead allies in your vision.

4: floating and a zappy exalted weapon. It's kind of like Hildryn's four but basically better in every way because you can actually set off large amounts of damage and fly higher and faster. The exalted weapon has synergy with her 1 and 2.

As Pablo mentioned, Jade's abilities provide a lot of combo potential, good for any "min maxers" in the audience.

Jade's three signature weapons: the Cantare throwing knives, the Harmony scythe, and the Evensong bow (a variant on the Dread).

The Ascension game mode: "what if Warframe but up?"

Non-endless There's a giant elevator you have to feed with energy. The team's video crashed so Rebb gave what I'd call an excited 12 year old's description of the game mode instead which I loved:

There's this giant elevator that needs energy to go up. So you have to keep feeding it ionic charges so you rise out of the depths. And as you're feeding, the Corpus are there! *excitable machine gun noises* And then you're like, oh god! And then you have to, like, jump around-- but if you fall out of the elevator, you better hope you're good at parkour, and that you can read the level to get back up! and back up! and back up! And then: you have to make it to the top. But that's not all. Once you get to the top of the elevator, you gotta escape. You gotta make a run for it before the Corpus hold you back! Aahhh! Aah! Ah! …and that's Ascension. :)

Once we finally watch the video preview of the game mode later I think it looks fun. The level looks really neat; I love the graphics of the inside of the elevator. There's a new Jade Light eximus enemy here but I can't really tell any details about it quite yet.

ORDIS IN LARUNDA RELAY!

He's hosting the clan operation Belly of the Beast (featuring above Ascension game mode). In his shop is the Asteria ephemera, which evolves with community participation. Also some arcanes… and a beautiful skin for the Hate.

"If you're a hater, this is for you." Hilariously the arcanes are capped at 42 each because apparently in Gargoyle's Cry certain players went crazy burning themselves out to stock up on arcanes, and the team is trying to prevent that (and players blaming them for their own bad choices, as always). Two full sets each is more than enough, frankly.

Status Rework!

Blast now does a secondary detonation, or if hitting 10 blast procs, creates an AOE explosion. This is exactly what I have been wanting for ages so I, personally, am thrilled.

Magnetic now scales with overguard and shields the same way, and also does a secondary punch of damage (and an electric proc!) once the shield is broken.

Cold should freeze enemies more often now… and came with a free Frost rework! Now Frost's abilities give proper cold procs, thus freezing enemies, which is now standardized across his abilities. His 1 has been buffed and his 3 snowglobe has been modified (to allow shooting from in to out but not out to in). He has a new passive: his armor scales with the number of cold procs enemies have (like the defensive version of Ember).

There's a lot of testing going on right now on the interaction between ragdolling and freezing enemies.

There's a change to damage vulnerability mechanics which I didn't quite follow; seems to be mostly a simplification of the system.

Armor damage attenuation scaling, as mentioned in the last devstream, now has a cap, meaning corrosive procs should be more effective.

Unifying melee finishers and mercy kills (both with mechanics and appearance).

The return of Heirloom skins: starting with community art this time

First major change (from last year's disastrous heirloom launch) is the heirloom collections will now be released one warframe at a time.

Ember Heirloom is also a purchased fanartist concept!

Two paths to acquire it: a temporary paid path (for money, comes with some plat) and a plat path that will be available until next heirloom launch (and you can purchase the cosmetics individually!)

This is much better than last year's Heirloom launch, which, as aforementioned, caused a lot of community strife.
