JM Financial shares tank over 19 pc; mcap declines by Rs 1,484 cr

Shares of JM Financial on Wednesday tanked over 19 per cent after the Reserve Bank imposed restrictions on group firm JM Financial Products Ltd after finding that the company indulged in various manipulations.

The stock tumbled 19.29 per cent to Rs 77.10 on the BSE.

At the NSE, it plummeted 18.75 per cent to Rs 77.55.

The company's market capitalisation (mcap) declined by Rs 1,484.53 crore to Rs 7,643.63 crore.

The Reserve Bank on Tuesday imposed restrictions on JM Financial Products Ltd after finding that the company indulged in various manipulations, including repeatedly helping a group of its own customers to bid for various IPOs by using loaned funds.

In a major regulatory action, the central bank has barred the systemically important non-deposit-taking NBFC from providing any kind of financing against shares and debentures, including sanction and disbursal of loans against Initial Public Offering (IPO) of shares as well as against subscription to debentures.

The restrictions are with immediate effect.

Besides directing the entity to "cease and desist" from financing activities, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said it is separately examining any possible regulatory violations and deficiencies on the part of the banks concerned.

JM Financial Products has been allowed to continue to service its existing loan accounts through the usual collection and recovery process.

In a statement, the RBI said the actions were "necessitated due to certain serious deficiencies observed in respect of loans sanctioned by the company for IPO financing as well as NCD (Non-Convertible Debentures) subscriptions".

JM Financial Products offers a broad suite of loan products. Broadly, it operates under five verticals -- capital market financing, retail mortgage financing, bespoke financing, financial institution financing, and real estate financing, as per its website.

They have a lengthy chat, where mj tells her the reason she didn’t contact her was bc she thought jm was seeing sb else (the fake PR relationship) and bc she lied to jm and told her she was on the pill when she really wasn’t. She found it unfair jm had to deal with her irresponsible actions so that’s why she stayed quiet. Jm tells her she would like to help her out financially, it’s her son after all. Mj is moved but scared to let jm into her life and refuses, assuring jm they will both be fine.

Jm cannot seem to let go of her newfound family and is determined to change mj’s mind. So she shows up at her store, asks for mj as her shopping assistant and spends millions of wons, telling mj that if she doesn’t accept her support she will just have to keep coming back and making sure mj gets huge commissions every single time ! Mj is moved and annoyed by jm’s stubbornness but relents and agrees to let her help.

Not only that, jm also starts visiting her kid more often, she never thought she would be a parent this young but she finds baby jm very cute. They have to meet secretly bc the press can’t know she had a kid, but she relishes these hangouts with mj and baby jm a lot.

With time she grows frustrated she can’t see her kid whenever or wherever she wants and so she decides to issue a statement (with her agency’s support) where she announces she fathered a child some time ago and will be stepping up to take care of him, asking for privacy since the mom isn’t a celebrity and there’s a minor involved.

The gp and jm’s fanbase reaction is actually incredibly positive, everyone loving this turn of events for their idol, who they’ve seen grow up in front of their eyes.

AITA for telling my friend that we have public education in this country? Content warning for politics, and sorry, this one got long.

Here goes a bit of context: I (23M) have a group friend consisting of A (23M), C (24M) and V (24F). We all study different college careers, but mine is literally focused on politics, so it is a topic in which I can get heated very quickly.

There's elections going on this year, and, at the time I sent this ask, the results were tied between two candidates, that I will call SM and JM (just in case but if you are from my country you pretty much realize who I'm talking about). So, we will go to a second round and will have an answer on who is the new president for good next month (November).

Now, in all honesty, both candidates suck (although one is definitely a lot worse than the other, but that's just my humble opinion). SM is... really lukewarm(?). He's already in a position of power in an economy-related setting, and we have horrible inflation. However, one of JM's main things and the reason a lot of people love him is that he wants to remove taxes. Which, you know, among other things, no taxes means no public health, no public education, no financial helps from the government, no anything unless it comes straight out of your pocket. He has a very capitalistic mindset, because "freedom". He has other proposals, but this is the relevant one.

All of us in my friend group go to public colleges. Our public education IS really good, no doubt about it. And when the first round of elections happened, C asked who we voted for. I didn't really wanted to talk about it, but C pressed the issue on who I voted for, which was SM. I said that, and his reply was "good job [my name], now we are going to eat polenta" (polenta is a dish commonly associated with poor people). He also said he was going to vote for JM in the second round.

Here's were I could've TA: I said "whatever, we will have access to public education either way and that's something that will not be touched if SM wins". I said public education, as I could've said ANYTHING else we have, which is public health (I consider worthy mentioning that HRT and gender affirming surgeries are free because trans healthcare is under the Compulsory Medical Program, and C is a trans man who wants to transition. Our friend, A, is also a trans man and he is transitioning for free due to this), financial helps from the government (some of which he benefits from, and I benefit from them too), and among other free things paid with taxes. I also admit that, due to my wording, it looked like I was directly telling him "YOU will have access to public education", rather than a general thing.

But it looks like I struck a nerve within C, because he said "I will not have it now because I can't pay rent any longer" (he lives in a tiny town and comes to the city I live in to study). Neither I, A, or V knew about that. I'm also a terribly anxious person, so I ended up replying "sorry, I didn't knew that, but I said public education as I could've said anything else" but he kept going and said "I don't know why people keep telling me this, when public education is not even accessible to everyone" (no idea who else "keep telling this" to him, it certainly isn't me). I didn't said anything and just stopped talking on the groupchat because I'm embarrassed.

This can look like I'm looking for validation or anything, but I'm genuinely thinking that I could've been the asshole, even if I didn't knew the situation he was going through. Some Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates headcanons

Judging from Captain Hook speaking only of his mother in terms of parentage, he was raised by a single mom. His father was a wealthy man not in James's life, but regularly sent money to financially support them to keep his mother quiet about the affair

Captain Hook is from the early 18th century, but keeps limited contact with the outside world, hence why he has Victorian novels, knew Queen Victoria's name, and where he still gets treasure from.

He's not great at keeping track of major historical events and what year it is, though, because he honestly is in denial of how long he's been in Neverland. He briefly left Neverland to fight in the war of 1812, realized he's been there almost a century, then stopped keeping track.

Neverland is unofficially set up into three main territories between the three human factions. Peter rules the skies, the Indians rule the land, the pirates rule the sea. Again, though, this is unofficial.

At some point after Wendy and her brothers leave, a copy of JM Barrie's "Peter and Wendy" makes it to Neverland. This ends up being the main reasons Peter is able to remember them, though it's considered inaccurate of certain details. Unlike the book, Fox's Hook doesn't die, as in the show Peter actually cares a great deal the one time we see Hook get eaten and uses a wish to undo it.

The episode "First Encounter" is one of many versions of Hook's landing in Neverland Peter tells, as his memory is notoriously bad. The things that remain consistent are Hook landing because of a storm, Peter thinking Hook killed the Lost Boys, and Peter cutting off Hook's hand in retaliation.

Hope they have a great time in japan, think it’s very telling they’re happy to do this trip now with ms looming - they could’ve not done it to prioritise other things but it’s important to them and it shows. Hi anon. It’s definitely more than that, but the plausible deniability is really important for their safety. I think it’s super brave of them and speaks volumes to take a trip together so close to their military service. It’s even more bittersweet that they are going back to Tokyo where it all began. I’ll be grateful for anything that we do get to see, and I’ve thought about it a lot and I do hope the travel show is behind a paywall. If there are jikookers out there in financial hardship, then we can help them see it. But for me, I want to gatekeep it as much as possible from haters and antis. You are totally right. May i know what you think of this difference in treatment? I have seen solos talk about it but you know they can go to extreme with their biasness but i have never seen jkkrs talk much about the difference. They only say the comapny hates jm and nothing more than that is addressed. They never say jm is competition or any kinda assume but just comapny hates it so idk what ppl that love both jm and jk thinks of this difference in treatment.

Also did you notice that they put jk's solo logo on that song. I mean why put the logo for a song that's supposed to be for armys and festa.... isn't it his solo logo or it's different..

I think I've talked about differences in treatment of both of them in terms of label management. Perhaps last year, around the Seven release. I would have linked the posts, but I apologize once again for this website not being helpful at all.

Jimin and Jungkook have proven that they are the only two members of BTS with an actual succesful solo career in terms of popularity. I'm mentioning this criteria because it's the one brought to the front in every single debate/insult/you name it. So from that perspective, they are both doing well. The difference is that Jungkook's solo path was a BH project in collaboration with Hybe America, whilst Jimin's was not and took a more traditional k-pop direction. Which does make him a competition because his achievements have had close to zero label support. Does it sound absurd? Yes. But if Bang Si Hyuk wasn't happy with NJ and obviously prefered Le Sserafim, even though the success of both groups made him a richer man, then I believe anything is possible. It may be more subtle in the case with BH and the BTS members, maybe there's nuances there on a personal level, I don't know. I'd expand more on it if other text messages would be leaked. Until then, shall I say that it remains a bit vague.

It's clear that Jungkook's solo career in 2023 has been crafted folowing a very specific model, hence all the promotions and label involvement have been in accordance to that model. I would also want to mention that a concept such as fairness or equal treatment is non existent in such an industry. Perhaps the fandom at large was led to believe that based on the BTS idea of togetherness and unity and whatever meaning they have went for. Solo careers are obviously a very different thing in which a lot of factors are at play. From individual preferences, to financial aspects, to what is worth investing in based on possible returns, to perhaps more malicious reasons. Jimin appears to have gotten the short end of the stick with his first solo album, but nevertheless, has had quite a lot of impact. That's a remarkable achievement, especially when compared to a debut fully backed by the label. I don't know what the treatment of Jimin's second album will be like or even after he returns, but I do know that as a fan, it can be frustrating and as much as I still have some hope left, there hasn't been any indication yet that the situation will change. (Sometimes I wish I had been a casual fan, with no access to details or more insight, so I could just enjoy his music and that's it).

As to your last point, I did notice the logo. Regardless of its use or not, the song is for his fans and army, both words used in the announcement (the same as when Jimin released Closer to You, so I find theories on this subject a waste of time).

That logo is part of his brand, which is now under a trademark. If I recall, there was an application for this right before he enlisted. It is a direction he chose for his solo career and I personally don't have an issue with it. He is a BTS member and a solo artist and those two sides can be interchanged and/or used at the same time. To me, it looks like Jungkook chose to create his own brand in connection to his music career. At the same time, Jimin has done something similar. His dad is making sure of that with the ZMillenial brand, but in a slightly different direction. So far, I believe they are the only members of BTS who have done it and perhaps it's nothing but a smart business decision.

In the almost 3 years I've been here I've been called a lot of things, insulted and made fun of but wow Anon, you finally managed to make me feel bad.

Yes, I am poor. Unfortunately, the price of my country's currency is basically non-existent and therefore the price of the dollar is sky high. Buying an album is literally a month's worth of food and utility bills in my house. Although fortunately our situation is not that bad, I have to be aware that I can't spend that kind of money on an album. As a fan, I help out as much as I can: watching MVs and streaming the songs on Spotify, it's not much but it's what I can do right now. Unfortunately I don't have the financial solvency that other fans have, that you have.

Yesterday I confirmed that weverse global does ship to my country, the total purchase would be 90 dollars. The dollar value in my country's currency is 0.00020. I hope to save a little to eventually buy the album. The same for the album that will eventually be released by Jungkook.

I never said that wanting to sell albums is wrong, I never said that the idea of phone calls to fans is wrong I just said that it was a common strategy in the kpop world but I never said that Jimin would do it just for money.
