I saw your reblog of the Marquand poll saying Gregory Peck wasn't right for it in the tags and so out of genuine curiosity I wanted to ask, why include actors you think aren't suited for the roll on the poll? Also how many of the actors "cast" do you think are miscasts? (If you don't wanna name names that's fine, I'm just curious about the numbers)

uhhh that one was just a mistake tbh, I made the last batch of polls really quickly and I threw Greg in there just because I was like, eh, he's played a lawyer, this will be funny. In general with the polls I do try to show a wide variety of potential (and legitimate) takes on each character that all still feel plausible to an element of the character we see in the book, even if I don't agree on prioritizing that element, so everyone can vote for their version of Dracula.

//headcanon that jimmy is constantly chewing on smth, whether it be a pen, his own fingers, etc. literally anything he can lay his eyes on. it's become a habit of his, kind of an instinct. it mostly happens when he's angry or bored, but sometimes he does it simply for the satisfaction of gnawing on things. he may even do it without realizing so in the first place.

possibly controversial opinion but i think (the idea of) jimmy having internalized homophobia can exist fully separate from him assaulting anya. it is not the catalyst for it, though i think it’s an interesting concept to explore separately.

queer people can be abusive, queer people can be violent, it’s not homophobic to acknowledge this.

i would venture that it’s *more* homophobic to imply that internalized homophobia is the reason he assaulted anya and that if he was just :) a freaky young man a bisexual that everything would have gone differently.

like he’s explicitly written as a misogynistic, manipulative, self centered piece of shit who’s incapable of taking responsibility (he said it! he said the thing!) and although he is portrayed as caring the most about curly out of the cast, he still beats him, resents him and sees him as both an ideal and someone in his way.

even if there is some kind of internalized homophobia or affection for him under the surface, i don’t think it’s fair to say that that’s THE reason he’s abusive.

there's 1 thing that bugs me about the shipping part of the life series, and that is when shipping Jimmy, they do include that he and Scott were together, but then make Scott like a villain, making his abusive or some crap. Like guys, you can just have them... break up normally, you know that right? because people do grow apart, that's a thing that happens.

idk, I see it a lot with MartynxJimmy, Ranchers, JoelxJimmy, and just as a Scott enjoyer + being in a system with a bunch of Scott's + being a Jimmy myself, it kinda puts me off.

Like I get the trope, but I think I've seen like a total of like 10 fics, maybe a bit more where they actually leave on good terms, or just break up normally.

Can we just normalize characters breaking up for normal reasons because I am sure it is like that with other ships as well. I just know that it happens a lot with Scott.
