After another reread, The Guantlet remains one of my favourite Batman and Robin stories. It's about Grayson taking Bruce's final test before he can become Robin!

It's not only a well written single issue that ties itself up very neatly, but it's also such a fun Dick Grayson story ☺️

Cryptid springtrap fic time >;

You're following springtrap around through the snow-covered woods like usual. He seems to enjoy your company. It had practically become a routine in the late afternoon to walk with the strange rabbit-like beast since he began to trust you. You would watch as he'd forage for anything edible on the forest floor, though there wasn't much around his time of the year. You could 've brought him something to eat, but it'd be unprofessional as a ranger to feed any wildlife. You knew he raided camper's tents from time to time, but he never did it in front of you.

The sun is almost gone by the end of your hike with him. An indicator that your walk with him is about over. Typically, you'd see him dissappear between two boulders on a slope, no doubt that was where his den was. You tried following him in once or twice, only for him to snap at you and chase you away from the entrance.

Just as you're about to turn around and head back, you feel him gently tug your sleeve. Looking back at him, he trills softly and crawls in between the boulders, only to poke his face out seconds later.

Assuming it was an invitation, you get onto the ground and start crawling in. This time, instead of him trying to bite you, you yelp in surprise as he grabs you and pulls you in. The den inside is fairly roomy and was slightly warmer than outside. You notice a pile of bones to the left side of the den, and decide not to look too closely at it in case you could identify something unsavory

The back of the den intrigued you. The ground there is covered in soft materials (very likely stolen from his camp raids), and he's sitting there with his back turned to you, watching something. You came closer, and you began to understand why springtrap had chased you out of here before. Curled up in a pile in the middle of the bedding was a bunch of his own kits. They're all asleep, purring softly and ccasionaly twitching a paw or ear in their sleep.

Before you could say anything, springtrap pulled you into his arms to cuddle in his nest. Maybe you'd bend the rules and make an exception for these little ones.

Hopefully tumblr won't eat it this time!

i am determined to make THIS fall/winter the fall/winter i start knitting. two years ago, i bought a pattern for an easy sweater, and i just cast on for it, but i think it's still too tricky for me!! i'm now looking for a pattern for a scarf that will be easier than the sweater but still gets me excited enough to actually pick up and follow through with the project. if any knitters have any recs for beautiful yet easy scarf patterns for a beginner knitter, holler at me! i'm scouring ravelry as i post, but i do love a recommendation. 🫶🏻
