One year after Marineford…

World Economy Newspaper, after a few weeks of "quiet news," has published its latest worldwide news story!!

The true ancestry of Monkey D. Luffy, the rookie who fought with the big boys a year ago…

and according to reports…

Monkey D. Luffy is the son of… Dragon the Revolutionary and Akagami no Shanks!!

And the rest of the front page proceeds to explain a series of things that are summarized… 1) It has been shown that Dragon has changed sex with Ivanko's help for missions. 2) The year Monkey D. Luffy was "assigned," there are multiple reports that Akagami and Dragon were in the same area, and that in that year and the following, sightings of the revolutionary ceased completely. 3) There are reports and rumors that a few years ago, Yonko Akagami no Shanks took a random island as a base during a strange voyage to the Eastern Sea. The island is home to the super rookie's hometown. 4) A facial comparison is made between young Grap, Dragon, and Shanks and Luffy, where it is "proven" that he bears a closer resemblance to the redheaded figure his father and grandfather were in their youth.

The reactions are swift… mainly from a certain former Shishibukai. How dare those fourth-rate "journalists" say Luffy isn't his son!? I think someone needs a visit.

Somewhere else, a very confused redhead is remembering what exactly he did the year of Luffy's "assignment."…

While elsewhere in the New World, a Yonko is particularly confused… Isn't that supposed to be his grandson?

(Somewhere inside the world newspaper, a group of conspiracy theorists are celebrating that they managed to gather "evidence" for one of their theories and how it was accepted until its publication…

"I still believe that the theory that Crocodile is related to Mugiwara no Luffy is true…"

"You've been at it for a year and you haven't provided any proof…"

"But the reaction at Marineford!!"

"And Shanks also came to save Mugiwara, and the latter was responsible for him ending up in Impler Down…"

"…but"

"But nothing, you had a year to gather the evidence to be able to publish it, and you didn't find anything like us, so admit defeat")

Crocodile's going to stab some people X'D Including Dragon because that man doesn't have the appropriate reaction (which would be rage and murder intent according to Croc) to this kind of stupid report. Instead Dragon laughed his ass off (very startling for his fellow Revolutionaries who do know him as mostly stoic) and then called Shanks to demand child support.

Crocodile is just upset that he did all the work, pregnancy and labor and nursing, and Dragon gets the credit for that?! Rude. Also, Buggy's been screaming about this nonstop too. There's a limit to how much Luffy slander Crocodile can hear in a day before he starts taking people apart.

(And somewhere up in Mariejois Garling is having a fit.)

What if sanji used to cover his eyes as a way of copying his mother but did it on the opposite side because of his father who said he looks like a girl and made his brother beat him up but during his stay with ivanko he realised that dressing a certain way or looking like a woman doesn't make you less of man so he started wearing his hair like his mother

Little "bits and pieces"-drop on Valkyrie.

(These are just some small elements that I've made up over the past couple of days. Nothing particularly coherent yet. But I'll get there eventually! :3)

I. ARC. Lightbearer.

- Third pillar (more elaboration coming with more world lore)

- Always has some spare lipstick on them because theirs smudges easily.

- Heavily Slavic-coded.

- Valkyrie isn't the name they were given at birth. They changed it shortly after graduation from the Lyceum.

- They love birds, especially crows. So much so, that their familiar is a raven called Ivanko (who sometimes is their voice of reason).

-- > often compares themself (and others if they're fond of shinies) to magpies. Affectionately and with utmost respect.

- Can be quite persuasive.

- N Severely thalassophobic (the visits to places such as Rustport are always a nightmare to them)

- There is no information if they're afab or amab.

- Surprisingly enough, they are secretly very fond of music and enjoy partaking in some singing.

-- > N oh, and they're not so secretly skilled with the contrabass (and guitar here and there)!

-- > (and I'm definitely not thinking up a way of bringing gramophones into my Universe because of it, not at all-)

- Since the questionable moral compass mentioned previously wasn't acquired - they were... Quite the outcast during their time at the Lyceum, but as time made them wiser and stronger - they learnt to socialise despite it... N Somewhat. Mostly in the professional field.

- Also quite the fan of dancing, especially if regarding dances as a part of different cultures.

-- > humble enjoyer of tango, simply because it's neat, not because of the feelings associated with the dance.

- Follows no deity. Not openly, at least.

- "I keep my personal and professional lives strictly separated. My duty as Esperia's Messenger is part of the latter." © Valkyrie.

-- > N unsuccessfully tried to convince Cyran (Eden) and Merlin to follow the same mindset.

And a little relationship table:

V/general - Valkyrie does their best to be at least respected by as many as possible.

V/Adamant Syndicate (general) - keeps more or less out of their matters, unless they create conflicts within a fraction. Then they might interfere carefully. (Neutral to slightly negative)

V/Merlin (a.k.a. the Magister) - they both acknowledge each others duties, both arcane and earthly, not much than that. Mutual respect. Strictly professional relationship. (acquainted, neither friendly nor rivaling. Albeit Valkyrie is trying to move it into more friendly territory.(Professional in the sense of: them being the messengers of their respective deities.)

V/Dionel - (if acquainted) drinking buddies. (Very well-acquainted, friendly. Mutual understanding.)

V/Berial - bonded through questionable morals and the occasional need for chaos. (Kinda sorta friendly)

V/Hugin - acquainted during Valkyrie's visit to Rustport for political and arcane matters, of course, bonded over diverse food cultures and mutual loneliness. (Very friendly)

V/Cassadee - met briefly, Cas is curious about them and their magic, but doesn't admire them as much as she does Merlin. (Acquainted, Valkyrie sometimes teaches Cas some neat little everyday magic tricks.)

V/Cyran (Eden) - N ... well, they too acknowledge each other's duties, and as they're both involved in politics - they're kinda sorta colleagues. Keeping in contact, thus being on the good side of one another. Friends even. But the two fell apart, and their relationship soured quickly. It took a toll on Válkyrie. (Ex-friends, "colleagues". Tense relationship after that. Painful 'breakup'.)

V/Windmaedchen - they're a besties. That's it. /silly

N V/Athalia and Scarlita - they despise them both, since they (indirectly) oppose Dura and her reign. (Tense, very different views on the concept of justice.)

N V/Andrei and Brana - they were Válkyrie's older siblings, but they both perished in the flames of war between their land and the Empire. The former is a Graveborn, but him and Válkyrie don't have much contact during this arc. The latter is gone forever. (Warm, their demise traumatized Válkyrie severely as Válk were witness to it.)

(p.s. I'm kinda tempted to open them an ask... Cyran's and Kalix's ones are really tempting me to do so... Help I'm indecisive...)

One Piece Queer Poll 2

The last time I ran this here, Luffy (Aroace) won with over twice the number of votes as the second-place character, Yamato. So, I'm now going to redo the poll with him excluded.

Based on the previous results, I'm expecting it to be a close race between Nami, Bon Clay, and Yamato, but who knows, maybe a bunch of the Luffy voters would have voted for Kiku or Ivankov if not him.

It's because Tchaikovsky (Petro Chaika) was Ukrainian😭

He was the great-grandson of kozak Fedir Chaika from near Poltava.

"It is known that Petro Illich - during the time of a total ban on everything Ukrainian - sought to stage "Taras Bulba" by M. Lysenko in the Ukrainian language. He himself, in addition to the already mentioned opera "Cherevychky", generously saturated with carols, vesnyankas, historical, wedding and humorous songs, wrote romances based on poems by Taras Shevchenko (translated by L. May and I. Surikov), including "Evening" ("A Cherry Orchard Around the House").

The main theme of the First Concerto for Piano and Orchestra is the song of the legendary Marusya Churai "Oh, Don't Go, Hrytsya, at the Vechornytsi", and the finale of the concert features the vesnyanka "Come Out, Come Out, Ivanko". Almost 28 years of the composer's life were connected with Kamyanets, in the Cherkasy region: here, in the estate, where his sister's husband was the manager, the maestro lived and created, admired the magical nature and listened with pleasure to melodic Ukrainian songs.

Petro Chaikovsky (he changed his surname during his studies in Kyivan-Mohylian Academy in Kyiv) rested in Ukraine for 28 years, until his death, where he wrote approximately 40 works, including, in particular, Symphony No. 2 in C minor, also called "Ukrainian".
