I cannot believe that the Catholic Church has unveiled what is basically a magical girl named Luce.

I mean, seriously.

Apparently 2025 is some kind of every-quarter-century jubilee year and the church is trying to embrace its connection to pop culture as a form of youth outreach.

I guess we do know that Italy particularly loves magical girls and anime in general. The design actually did come from an Italian firm but one who is so Japanese-influenced that even the name is Japanese - Tokidoki.

Anyway, I have to say, I kind of love her. I will certainly be buying an action figure, partially because this is so bizarre and interesting. I can't wait to find out more of Luce's story.
