Hey there! I’m back yet again with more scarvio headcannons for your event! I recently started replaying the game and have so many thoughts but! I’ll keep it limited lol. I’m getting kinda close to the end of starfall street and have decided that despite his bratiness Ortega definitely has a super sweet and soft side! Wether this is canon or not I’m not sure (it’s been awhile since I’ve done the story and don’t remember) but I still think it’s a nice concept! And if possible can you do a reader insert? (platonic please!) if you don’t feel like it it’s all good, I know I send in a lot of reader stuff and it can probably get boring after awhile. I’m just a huge sucker for self insert stuff lol. {Headcanons to Dabbles: CLOSED!}

ORTEGA!!! Oh man- I freaking love him! While not my favorite of the Starfall crew (admittedly I don't have a favorite as I love them all so much Atticus) I adore him with my entire heart and soul! This was a joy to write for you friend! I've gotcha covered! :D (And don't ever worry about your requests/headcanons being boring! On the contrary I think they're freaking awesome! You always give me the best characters to write for!)

Ortega was…a lot.

Mechanically speaking, he was brilliant- his hands were golden as they turned simple shapes into incredible machinery for Team Starfall to use in battle. He was meticulous, thorough, and still somehow remained ridiculously cute smudged in motor oil.

“Careful, you klutz!”

He was also a bit of a brat. Okay- a full brat.

“Sorry.” You stepped back from the table, admiring the various trinkets and do-hickies across the cloth. “And I’m not a klutz! That was one time!”

“One time falling into my tool setup, two times spilling pink paint everywhere, another time dropping water all over yourself and- how many times have you stumbled and flopped on your butt?” He sent a cheeky grin over his shoulder at you, hands deep within the wiring of the starmobile. He laughed when you pouted, mildly vexed.

“Whatever.” You flopped into the nearest seat, sinking further in your chair as his soft titters carried on. What were you expecting?

Some time passed when he called out again. “(Y/N).”

“Hm?”

“The desk beside you, could you open the second drawer?” When you glared, he sighed. “Please?”

“....Fine.” You did as told only to pause. Among the various screwdrivers and extra wiring sat…

“Yeah, it’s just some whatever piece I was tinkering with. Not much to look at, but I guess you can have it if you want.” He folded his arms with a huff as you carefully pulled out the statue, shaped into a glorious portrayal of your go-to pokemon. Despite his claims, the craft was clearly handled with care- the edges smooth and flawless and the effects of the Pokemon’s typing visible with brightly colored resin. Your go-to was posed in an incredible way- badass and powerful and truly amazing.

“Ortega…did you make this for me?” You asked, looking over to find him having returned to his work. You might have been hallucinating, but you couldn’t help but note the growing flush against the back of his neck.

“Pfft- please. Like I said, I was tinkering. But…if you really like it-”

“I love it!” You cried, heart racing as you looked at the various angles. “I adore it! Thank you so much!”

“L-Like I said- it’s only a tinker!” Ortega fussed, neck coloring more as the blush spread to his ears. “But…yeah, I’m glad you love it.”

You grinned at him one more time before carefully placing the statue on the desk, leaning into your arms as you gazed upon its beautiful form.

Ortega might have been a brat, but when the softer parts come out; it makes it all worth it.

12. An unpopular character you like? (and why more people should like them)

Ooh, hmm, this'll be fun. there are so many examples in pokeani and honestly some are a little eh, but then I remembered how almost every comment I see about 'worse' characters seem to include Max and I just don't get it?? How can anyone hate him??

(fun fact, when I was first watching him - in dub mind you - I also really didn't like him much. but I was coming off from the end of the OG, which was pretty sad considering who we lost, and tbh especially in 4kids early seasons dub EVERYONE was pretty unlikeable. I think I hated almost everyone back in the early gens at some point lol; I can be real vindicative but I think watching the whole thing taught me to take my time before judging stuff :v)

But yeah!! I really don't get the hate. Oh, so he said that Ash sucked for getting 8th place in the Silver Conference - can we all remember that a) legit kid and b) he's seeing this guy lose to an evolved starter from his own region of the SAME type as Ash's. It's like watching a Venasaur lose to Meganium if you're from Kanto; you'll be feeling pretty patriotic and stuff too ngl, especially if you don't have any battle experience yet.

But he acts so smart - Yes, and?? I don't see anyone talk about how Gary was coming up in the first season spouting random facts only to lose in the prelims and get a lower place than Ash. Again, I wish that people remember that Max is the kid of a Gym Leader, who reads and watches Leagues to make up for not being able to watc the Gym Battles taking place under the same roof, who dreams of becoming as strong if not stronger than his father. He's going to have high expectations. He's going to think that knowledge is everything. He's going to show off as much as he can, to make up for the fact that he's the only one in the group who isn't a Trainer. And I love how he learns that you have to actually interact with Pokemon to learn what it's all about, that you can't replace experience, that you can still experience things now even if you are too young to start. There isn't a limit to going out and interacting with the world. He doesn't have to wait. He's allowed to make mistakes and own up and not know stuff and grow, now and in the future. In a way, he's learning the same things as May, and I think that's wonderful.

And while I wish that he could've gotten a Pokemon while on the journey (one that he could keep à la XY with Bonnie), I'm fine with what he had in Advanced. He got to see Gym Battles. He got to travel two (2) regions. He got to see different aspects of being a Trainer, as a Coordinator and as a Breeder/Doctor. He got the recognition of his father in the end and was able to get into the Gym business. He got to play and learn with so many Pokemon and just act his age for once, instead of having to grow up to make up the percieved difference (wrongly percieved, might I add). Dang it, he brefriended two Mythical Pokemon (Jirachi and that other Deoxys). I dunno, he's doing pretty well for himself. Sure he's snappish and remarks on a bunch of stuff, but AG is full of that (ugh Ash was on another level, especially in Hoenn) (we don't talk about flat Brock) and S1 Kanto was way worse.

Anyways everyone go out and appreciate this goober. He did not bond with this Ralts for nothing and I swear I did not cry in this ep just for everyone to hate him. His character growth was awesome and if we ever get a Chronicles 2.0 I need to see his journey (the kids that go with Ash legit get such powerful Pokemon I fear for the competition lol).

Rhyme wanted to see these too, so I'm making this a separate post.

Based entirely on the fanarts I've seen on my dash, or what Rhyme has told me of plot points — my current impressions and speculations on the Homestuck characters:

Karkat is angry and insecure and a little tsundere. He really wants to be cool and awesome and have people look up to him, but instead he just thinks everyone else is cooler than him so he gets very loud about it

Nepeta is maybe your typical catgirl/fangirl type character? Cute and feisty, maybe kinda nosy and pushy. I could probably draw her with some level of accuracy from memory, but I don't have a very deep impression on her personality or story

Either Eridan or Equis (I think it's actually Eridan but I had him crossed with Equius as Nepeta's moirail(?)), going almost entirely off of his design and nothing else I have the mental image of his as the sort of stern, thinks their so smart, often kinda suave and hot character archetype, except he'd come off as more full of himself than hot

Gamzee? I think? Is the purple clown guy? And I have been imagining him as like. Off-putting. In a hard to describe way. Maybe like a middle aged alcoholic sort of vibe. His clown make up makes it look like he has a five o'clock shadow. I think everyone's thirteen in canon tho so like.

Vriska is manipulative (and violent maybe? I've heard all trolls are kinda violent tho) and needs to be the center of attention. Maybe kind of an evil mastermind type character, but like, in a misunderstood maladjusted thirteen year old girl way. Maybe more just a toxic friend or bully. Unsure. She's definitely got something complicated going on with the whole morality thing given her reputation. Is she Terezi's girlfriend? Who also blinded her? Oh and she's also a pirate. And maybe obsessed with legacy and family?

I don't think I know any of the other trolls well enough to have impressions of them. I just looked at an image of all the trolls and I had so many of their names and faces crossed. Apparently Aradia and Terezi are different characters. And so are Kanaya and Vriska. And Equius and Eridan, but that already came up.

Actually I did kinda know Kanaya and Vriska were different I just assigned them both the same face/hair. Kanaya is Rose's girlfriend? She's the most human-typical-feminine of the trolls, and also a lesbian, and that's just about my entire impression of her.

One of either Kanaya, Vriska, or Terezi used lipstick as blood one time. And another one of them thought it was super hot

Looking at their sprites, Sollux and Equius both look like the kind of gamer guys who get told to use more deodorant. I think Sollux has more card gamer who is constantly explaining the rules and niche plays to people who don't really care but are to polite to tell him to shut up vibes. Partially because the last name "Captor" sounds like an on the nose name for a pokemon card game player

Jane is like. Nice? But also cool. And nerdy. And lonely. Very lonely. She's like, even more homeschooled and an orphan than the rest of them. I kind of think of her as a fairly typical nice kinda nerdy girl character, but also very much able and willing to kick you if needed. She's another one I could draw better than I could explain her personality

Dave is cool. Theoretically probably not legit-cool, because everyone here is thirteen. But he wears fancy sunglasses and I think he's also the guy from that one backflipping-off-the-sword post ("motherfucking pirouette of the handle" I think is what rhymes said). Also his brother sucks so bad and he doesn't realize this until super far into the story. I kinda think of him as everything Karkat wishes he was, given what little I know about the two having something going on with them. But he's also still thirteen. So like. He's still not actually that cool he's just good at faking it. He's also the edgy teen kind of cool so he's maybe kinda offensive sometimes

Rose and John I have actually met and remember from the not even two hundred pages of Homestuck I've actually read. Rose is a lot more faux psychologist than I expected I think I expected her to be more of a legit put together big sister friend sort of character. John has actually been pretty much exactly how I expected him to be so far. He's kinda cute tbh, his smiley faces are adorable

There's also like, the whole alpha/beta versions of the cast? But I only know Roxy from that so I'm not gonna do any of them

Hope your end of year has been lovely, so far! I can personally say that I gravitated towards your inbox because your responses to people’s asks are very friendly and chatty, you have such nice responses about your fandom takes. (Also, that was after I followed your blog, for your Pokémon x Wind Breaker AU posts). Fandom is what a person makes of it and you make the fandom brighter, imo. (I hope that wasn’t weird, I just like chatting with you about wind breaker).

Today I ask you about your favorite characters and what you like about them? My personal favorites in Wind Breaker are Tsubaki and Suo. I absolutely love the entirety of Tsubaki’s backstory, as I’ve mentioned before in another ask, and I love how he’s just so unapologetically himself despite the difficulties he faced in his past. His character is the definition of coming to love oneself and as someone who has read all kinds of shounen for years, Tsubaki’s character arc and how Nii-sensei handled it cemented Wind Breaker as one of my top 10 series of all time. Nii-sensei broke so many shounen tropes with Wind Breaker, but Tsubaki’s character arc definitely left me in awe.

I also saw in your recent posts that you’re a fan of Fire Emblem! Any faves from that, or particularly games? I got Engage as a gift but haven’t gotten to play it yet; I did play Fates, Awakening, and Three Houses though! (My all time favorite best boy is Ashe from 3H. He is the sweetest best boy.)

one, so happy to hear you came for the Pokemon AU and stayed for my nonsense. two, I do try to be kind in my replies, even when I don’t agree with the person. like, I’m respectful so long as the other person is, too, y’know? fair’s fair, and all that. three, I am FLATTERED that you think I make the fandom brighter, that is literally the nicest thing I’ve ever heard 💙💙💙 please know you definitely make my fandom experience brighter, too, it honestly makes my day when I see I got an ask from you.

as for favorite characters, I have a three-way tie for first: Sakura, Togame, and Tsubaki! Tsubaki actually because of really similar reasons to yours. He’s such a breath of fresh air in the shounen genre, and I am so, so happy with how he’s developed as a character and his interactions with the rest of the cast. also his character design is so stinkin’ pretty, i adore his hairstyle and the girls’ furin uniform he I guess made himself? also like. this is just a me thing. I like that he’s tall and broad-shouldered. usually if you have a feminine-presenting guy in anime they’re short and skinny and really just. androgynous? so I think a lot of people irl don’t relate to them, whereas tsubaki absolutely has more traditionally masculine features and still happily dresses as he does. I think that’s neat

Togame is… i just like him a lot 😅 he’s entertaining as an antagonist, then just delightful when he comes back as an ally. his devotion to choji is so inspiring, and i love the extra bits we’ve learned about him from nii-sensei’s notes. like he’s just an old man in a young body and he’s great.

I think sakura I’ve talked enough about lmao. He’s a wonderful MC, stellar design, great development. he’s a tsundere. what more could I ask for?

omg you’re a fire emblem fan too!!! hell yeah!! I got into fire emblem when awakening came out (previously my only exposure to the games was Super Smash Bros. and I really liked Ike for whatever reason) and just. fell head over heels for the game mechanics and the characters. I’ve played everything that’s come out since then (fates, three houses, warriors, three hopes, engage, and the mobile game heroes because I’m insane). asking me to pick favorites for that is… hard. like my forever favorites are probably Chrom, Lon’qu, Cordelia, Frederick, Lucina, Morgan, Inigo (Awakening), Silas, Jakob, Azura (Fates), Dimitri, Claude, Sylvain, Petra, Dorothea, Hilda, Ashe (Three Houses) and Diamant (Engage).

Also! huge fan of the protag characters, Robin, Corrin, Byleth, and Alear. Awakening is near and dear to my heart, and as much as I love Three Houses it’s probably my favorite game. I’ll never forget the way I felt when the ending cut scene with Chrom and Lissa played for the first time, god, I was a mess

ES Journeys Main Cast: Lazuli the Glaceon

Hey y'all, I'm back again to continue talking about the next character of the main cast for ES Journeys which for this post it's about Lazuli.

Remember that the main thing you should know about my version of the cast is that they are supposed to be as closely accurate to how they were in the comic in terms of personality and backstory as possible while also changing things to improve them by adding, removing, or expanding things about them.

Now without further ado, here's Journeys Lazuli.

(Note: Not everything is fully fleshed out. These are just the main ideas I have and am currently trying to flesh out)

Lazuli Lazuli is a pretty well known character for many reasons that for better or worse, mostly worse. She's known for being a tsundere and violent, hitting Speed as gag (It's not funny), being Leaf's older sister and sharing the same backstory as her, and her very controversial ship with Speed with it being toxic and having bad writing.

To be honest, most of the things Lazuli is known for is pretty bad and I know she has her fans but there's a bunch of people who don't like how she was written and that includes me. Lazuli writing is bad or rushed from how she was a violent tsundere towards Speed to the stuff in the vacation arc and literally her character revolves around Speed entirely. I plan on giving Lazuli better writing for her character in ES Journeys.

Personality I feel I need to explain the thinking behind making her personality. So we all know Lazuli was an aggressive person in the comic and people have a problem with that, rightfully so with how she hits Speed. The most obvious change would just be making her nice but I have an issue with this kind of change because making her nice makes her very uninteresting. Lazuli in Tomorrow Light is nice and to me, she felt uninteresting and boring. She doesn't have much unique dynamics with others and I don't like that. So making Lazuli aggressive is bad and making Lazuli nice is also bad (to me though) so what do I do? Read below to see.

So Lazuli's personality is similar to her comic self at the beginning of the story where she doesn't trust anyone and is aggressive but this time it's towards everyone. She's hotheaded and aggressive so she'll get angry quickly and snap at anyone who talks to her. When she joined the Eeveelution Squad she was still aggressive around them and would often snap at them as well, especially towards Speed which then leads to them constantly fighting verbally and physically (It's not a one sided abuse from Lazuli, think of their fighting as the fights Natsu and Gray do in Fairy Tail) so Pearl would often be the one who stops them. Lazuli does becomes more trusting of others and less hotheaded and aggressive over the course of the Sinnoh journey and beyond but will occasionally have those two bits of herself pop up every once in a while.

Lazuli was also rebellious towards the team when she joined as she doesn't listen to them and often does her own thing in battle even though Speed and the others had a plan. Doing her own thing often lead to her losing battles a lot so she had to learn that she has to listen to her team.

Despite her rude behavior, Lazuli is actually a quiet and socially awkward Pokemon. Since she was pushed everyone away because of her aggressive behavior she didn't really have any friends so she didn't know how to act in a social setting or around other Pokemon who are nice to her. This changes though when she befriended Crystal. She learned how to be social and how to have fun thanks to her.

Lazuli in the beginning of Sinnoh was very closed-hearted and distrustful of others. She doesn't open up to anyone and has trouble trusting others since her own father abandoned her so she didn't trust anyone except Leaf. Even when she met and joined the Eeveelution Squad she didn't trust any of them and only joined them because she wanted to look after Leaf. This changes though as after she breaks down and reveals her past to Speed (Basically SC8 but NO ROMANCE) she learns to become more open and trustful of others which is only boosted thanks to Crystal.

When it comes to battling, Lazuli loves it while Contest she's okay with but would much rather prefer doing the former.

Lazuli has a strong drive to protect those she cares about, especially her friends and family which is a trait she shares with Speed and Black. She gained this trait after she and Leaf got kicked out by Alfred as she promised to protect her sister no matter what. When she joins the Eeveelution Squad and bonded with the members of it she began to care for them and would also try to protect them as well.

Lazuli is one of the smarter members of the team. While Speed is smart when it comes science, Lazuli is smart when it comes to history. From reading a bunch of books, she knows a lot about regions from their myths and legends to the history and culture of them.

Lazuli loves to read books, especially history books.

Moves, Ability, and Battle Style Lazuli in this AU is stronger than her comic counterpart as she actually battles and isn't just a "comedic abuser".

Lazuli's battle style involves her fighting physically with punches which is based on how Lazuli punches Speed which isn't funny btw. Lazuli is physically the strongest member of the Eeveelution Squad. Despite mostly fighting up close she does uses ranged moves to keep her distance when she needs to.

Lazuli has a wide array of Ice-Type moves as well as other Type moves. Her movelist and when they're learned: -Tackle (DP) -Double Kick (DP) -Ice Beam (DP) -Ice Shard (DP) -Ice Punch (DP) -Water Pulse (DP) -Take Down (BW) -Blizzard (BW) -Triple Axel (SWSH) -Double-Edge (MJ) -Giga Impact (MJ) -Subzero Slammer (SM; Z-Move) -All-Out-Pummeling (SM; Z-Move) -Max Strike (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Hailstorm (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Knuckle (SWSH; Dynamax) -Max Geyser (SWSH; Dynamax)

Lazuli's ability is Ice Body. If a Pokemon makes physical contact with Lazuli then she can activate her ability to freeze the part of the body that touched her in ice.

Lazuli's Backstory Lazuli hatched on March 3, 2001. She hatched seven days before Leaf did. She and her sister were raised by Lapis and Alfred in the Sinnoh region and lived close to Sandgem Town.

Lazuli had a good childhood where she mostly spent it being with her sister and mom. Lazuli spent a lot of her time reading. Due to Alfred going on Rescuer missions often which takes a couple of days, Lazuli was upset that he couldn't be with her. On April of 2004, Lazuli attended school in Sandgem Town along with her sister for the first time.

In 2006 during summer break, Lapis planned a family event where they'd all go to Lake Verity to have a picnic which got her and Leaf excited. Unfortunately Alfred called Lapis to let her know that he couldn't make it due to his Rescuer mission lasting longer than expected so when she broke the news to the girls they were upset with Lazuli being more upset about it than Leaf. On the day of the event as the family went to Lake Verity, Lazuli was upset the entire way there and even when they got there she still was upset. When Lapis asked what was wrong, Lazuli yelled about Alfred not being with them before running off. Eventually she stopped running and soon was found by Leaf who she then talked with. Lazuli told her sister that she thinks Alfred doesn't love them and was visibly upset by this thought but Leaf manages to cheer her up. After thanking her sister she went back to where Lapis is to apologize for yelling at her. When Leaf came back to them and said she saw something at the lake, Lazuli thought she was seeing things.

One day when Alfred was home but was about to leave to go on another Rescuer mission, Lazuli went over to him and asked him why he keeps leaving. Alfred tries to have her go back to whatever she was doing before but she persisted. Alfred decided to answer her, saying he has a dangerous job where he takes down bad Pokemon. Lazuli asked him why he was doing this to which he tells her he's doing this to protect them and tells her the importance of protecting the ones they care about. Lazuli didn't understand to which Alfred said she'll understand when she gets older before leaving.

Two months later, Lazuli and Leaf were playing outside the house while Alfred was inside sleeping. The two heard the sound of a window breaking so they stopped playing and checked inside to which they find Lapis dead on the floor. The two started crying and shortly after, Alfred rushed into the room to see them crying and Lapis dead on the floor. He tells the girls to leave the house and hits Lazuli to a wall as he then threatens to burn them if he saw them again so the two sisters ran out of the house and started running away.

The sisters ran as fast and far as they can go and soon stopped in the forest by an rundown cabin that's outside of Oreburgh City. Lazuli helps comfort her sister, promising that she'll protect her and the two began gathering some things they'll need. Soon they come across the rundown cabin and decided to stay in there.

A year has passed since she and Leaf ran away from home. During that time they managed to clean up and fix up the cabin. Lazuli after some time has passed grew angry at the fact Alfred abandoned them and had a deep hatred for him now. The two visited Oreburgh City for the first time during that time as well and they saw there was a school there so they decided to enroll in it. On April of 2007 the two attended Oreburgh School.

While Leaf managed to make plenty of friends and had fun in school, Lazuli was a loner while there as she often scared anyone who approached her so nobody tried talking to her. Despite not having anyone to talk to other than her sister, Lazuli does overhear conversations about stuff like competitive battling and someone named Cynthia. Lazuli would get in trouble in school from time to time due to her now aggressive behavior as she would often threaten other students with violence or go too far in battle class. While most students didn't try talking to her, one student did which was Spike who Leaf had befriended. When Leaf introduced him to her, Lazuli was rude towards him however Spike didn't mind and fell in love with her because of her nasty attitude. Following this first meeting, Spike would often be around her or follow her while he in his own way acted overprotective over Lazuli which weirded her out.

Since Lazuli settled into the cabin, she has always been interested with Mt. Coronet as it was an important landmark and she wanted to see what was at the top. Leaf tells her not to go there as she's worried it's dangerous and that she might get hurt to which she listened to her sister. Even though Lazuli said she wouldn't go, her fascination with Mt. Coronet got the better of her so one day she left the cabin to head to there without telling Leaf. Lazuli headed to Mt. Coronet on foot and it wasn't an easy or safe trip. Walking to there took a couple of days so she would camp out. Eventually she got to the mountain started climbing it but as she was climbing it began to get colder and snow started to come down. Lazuli was freezing but didn't want to turn back after coming so close so she knew she needed to do something quick before she freezes to death. She looks around and finds an Ice Rock which she touches to evolve into a Glaceon. With her new form and resistance to the cold, Lazuli resumed climbing the mountain and after some time it stopped snowing and she finally reached the top.

As Lazuli was on the peak of the mountain she was greeted with the sight of ruins. She looked around the place for a bit but stopped when she heard someone coming up. She ran over to one of the pillars and hid behind it to hide from whoever was coming. After some time hiding, Lazuli peeked out from the pillar and saw that another Pokemon was here which was a female Garchomp who was examining the ruins of the place. Wanting to get a better look at this Pokemon, Lazuli tried sneaking closer but ended up making noise by accidentally kicking a small rock. The Garchomp heard the noise and Lazuli quickly hid back behind the pillar hoping the stranger didn't come over to where she was but unfortunately for her, she did and found her. Lazuli instantly becomes aggressive towards the Garchomp and threatens to hurt them but the stranger managed to calm her down as she assures her that she's not going to hurt her. The Garchomp introduces herself as Cynthia which Lazuli sort of recognized the name and she asks her what she was doing here all alone to which she says she just wanted to check the place out. Cynthia told Lazuli that she was at Spear Pillar and then began telling her about the history and legend of this place. As Cynthia was explained to her, Lazuli was really interested in with the history of this place which she says to her. After Cynthia finished telling her about Spear Pillar, Lazuli thought it was time for her to go and thanked Cynthia for telling her about the place but before she left, Cynthia decided to drive her back to Oreburgh City after learning she walked from there to Mt. Coronet. Couple of hours later the two made it to Oreburgh City and before Cynthia left she gave Lazuli a book on Sinnoh's history. After that, Cynthia drove away and Lazuli began heading home after being away for several days.

When Lazuli got back home, she reunites with Leaf but doesn't recognize her at first due to her being a Leafeon now. Leaf didn't recognize her own sister either but after some clearing up, the younger sister hugged Lazuli as she cries saying she was worried about her. Lazuli who was feeling bad for making her sister feel this way promised to not leave her alone again.

Ever since Lazuli got that history book from Cynthia and read it she became a fan of history as she would read a lot of history books.

On January 22, 2013, Lazuli and Leaf graduated from school. Lazuli knew she needed a job to make money so she decided to become a postmon. While she was doing her job, Lazuli wanted Leaf to stay at the cabin as she didn't want her to be in trouble in the city while she's busy doing work. Unfortunately for Lazuli, Spike also became a postmon a few weeks after she became one and would often try to work together with her but she would usually just run off. Sometimes during break or after work, Lazuli would stop by the Oreburgh Gym to watch the battle that was happening. Lazuli has considered becoming a competitive battler but didn't want to leave her sister behind and be far away from her.

On June of 2016, Lazuli was assigned a special task where she had to go to Sandgem Town to deliver a package for Professor Rowan. On her way there she stopped by the cabin to make sure Leaf was alright and when she asked her if she can come with her, she allowed her to. The two made it Sandgem Town and after delivering the package, Lazuli wanted to go home but Leaf convinced her to look around for a bit. As they looked around the town, they saw a competitive battle team who were just about to leave town but two members got into a fight and one of them ran off. Leaf wanted to help but Lazuli didn't as it wasn't their problem but Leaf went after the Pokemon who ran off anyway while Lazuli stayed behind and talked with the other Pokemon about why he was fighting with his teammate. Lazuli confronts the Pokemon as he was the reason why the other Pokemon got mad and told him to make things right before going after her sister. Lazuli finds Leaf and the Pokemon she went after and they returned back to town where the other Pokemon apologized to the other. After the two Pokemon thanked the sisters, they returned back to their cabin where on their beds when Leaf asked if they'll be able to go on more adventures like that in future Lazuli says only time will tell.

A few weeks later after Lazuli clocked out of work and began running back home in a hurry to make sure Leaf was alright and in her hurry she accidentally tackles Speed who was looking for Flare to which she quickly apologizes and runs off (CH1 reference). Eventually Lazuli returned to the cabin where Speed and the rest of the team were and she and Speed instantly got into a verbal argument. When the team told Lazuli and Leaf about their past adventures, she was slightly intrigued. When the Eeveelution Squad won against the Oreburgh Gym and Leaf told Lazuli that she wanted to travel with the team, Lazuli had no interest at first but then decided to tag along only to look after her sister and says she don't plan on becoming buddies with anyone on the team. Soon she became a member of the Eeveelution Squad along side Leaf.

Lazuli's Journey In Diamond and Pearl, Lazuli make her debut and joins the Eeveelution Squad. She meets the team at her cabin and then joins the team after they won again the Oreburgh Gym a few days later. At first when she joined the team Lazuli acted aggressive and rebellious, often snapping at them and not listening to them in battle. Lazuli does learn that she has to listen to the team sometimes after losing a bunch for doing her own thing. Over the course of the Sinnoh journey, Lazuli becomes less aggressive and opens up more after bonding with each member of the team, specifically with Speed and Crystal. Lazuli has a rival with an Ice Type Pokemon who is on Shade's team.

In Black & White, Lazuli begins to have feelings for Speed however she is in complete denial about it and acts like a tsundere (A verbal one, not a physically abusive one). Lazuli reunites with Alfred after many years and meets Ashia for the first time. Unlike Leaf who forgave him quickly after he explained why he kicked them out, Lazuli wasn't as forgiving. Throughout the Unova journey, Lazuli would run into Alfred and Ashia several times where she would grow a bond with Ashia and slowly forgives her dad.

In Battle Frontier, after Lazuli accepted her feeling for Speed at the end of the team's Unova journey her feelings for him causes her to become a bit of a mess on the team. Lazuli becomes distracted a lot during battles and Contest so she can't focus which often leads to her messing up. She learns to put her feelings aside for important stuff like battling.

In XY, when Silvia joins the team and is often with Speed, Lazuli would get jealous but doesn't do much. Her feelings for Speed aren't as bad as before since she's able to control it. Lazuli does attempt to make advances on Speed but due to not ever being in a romantic situation she's pretty bad at it. By the end of Kalos she realizes that Speed probably wouldn't feel the same way as her and decides to let go of her feelings for him and just stay friends.

In Sun & Moon, Lazuli learns to appreciate life as well as the Pokemon around her which is her team who she starts to see as family. During the Alola journey, Lazuli along with Leaf get to reunite with Lapis thanks to Tapu Fini and got closure with her.

In Sword & Shield, Lazuli encounters Zacian and Zamazenta with Leaf during the beginning of the team's Galar journey with her encountering the latter Pokemon. Lazuli helps Sonia piece together the mystery behind an event known as the "Darkest Day".

In Master Journeys, like with everyone else, Lazuli was against Speed's plan for the team to split up to train but is eventually convinced that it's for the best as they need to get stronger to get through the Ultra Class of the World Championship Series.

MHA Headcanons: League of Villains

Toga will force other members of the League to give her piggy back rides (mostly Compress and Magne at first, but quickly spread to each member)

Toga pokes people as a sign of affection (she only breaks the skin of the people she has a crush on. Watch out Deku and Uraraka, you two are not safe.)

Dabi acts like a tsundere.

Spinner likes the cold, even he doesn't know why.

Shigaraki can, and will, walk in heels.

Spinner and Shigaraki constantly debate which Pokemons are better (this counts for Smash Bros or literally any game characters)

Shigaraki plays more RPGs (role-playing games) and survival/horror

Spinner plays more FPS (first person shooters) and dating simulators

Compress is a walking uno reverse meme. He'll have way too many uno game cards on hand that no one will be able to outplay him.

Shigaraki takes videos and pictures of his comrades being stupid. He calls them his "save files"

Do you have any interest in Pokemon? Not because I want to nerd out about it specifically, but because... let's just say, I've been rather inspired after reading your Raincode stuff, and watching some Pokemon animations online. (人◕ω◕)

You know, it's strange. For all I talk about Sayaka being the "source" of so many muses and subsequent harem ships these days... My true, honest beginnings - my first forays into discovering and reading fanfiction in general lies in...

Ash x Misty. n___n I must've discovered fanfiction.net myself back in, ooh... 2004? That feels so long ago. I'm old. XD Had no interest in writing back then, I was just thirsty for a ship that canon kept mercilessly teasing me with. No other anime I liked had me so invested in a ship. I suppose Digimon eventually hit me with Takato x Rika, and Takuya x Zoe, but Ash x Misty was definitely my origin point for anything fanfiction. That was the first time I ever Googled "Ash x Misty stories" or anything of that ilk. Seeing so many stories on ffnet made me proud to be a shipper for them. lol

Granted, I was a kid. And the quality of fanfics was as varied as it is these days. But back then I didn't care so much if some stories were cheesy. I remember coming across aged up Ash and Misty scenarios, a more adult and nefarious Team Rocket terrorizing them, Ash as the Kanto Champion and TR trying to get to him by assaulting/kidnapping Misty.... That was one of the better written fanfics I read back in the day.

That all said, am I still a Pokeshipper these days? Ash x Misty, sure. And shinobisage09 made a Ash harem card a while back...

In terms of my tastes? Ash x Misty is my highest priority. Ash x Serena is alright, I just haven't watched the XY anime to grow attached to that ship, while the original Pokemon anime was my childhood. XD Ash x May is okay, very neutral to that one... Ash x Melody is fun. She was only in the 2000 movie, but man she left an impression~ Melody is probably the reason I enjoy Natsumi Kuzuryu so much. Or rather, girls like them - spunky, tough girls that have tender sides they don't like showing. Ash x Anabel is fun, too, from what I remember of the Battle Frontier anime... Ash x Dawn is okay, like May I'm pretty neutral about it. And then the grass girl there... I haven't watched the Sun and Moon anime either, so I dunno what that ship - or rather, how the girl thinks about Ash....

I guess to summarize, my favorite Ash ships are Misty, Melody, and Anabel. Serena to a little lesser extent. Then Dawn and May. Then anyone else, so long as it's not toxic or creepy. XD I suppose that girl from the fifth movie... Bianca, I think? Or Latias in her form...? Whichever it might be, the kiss at the end of that movie was cute, but I'm a bit unsure about dabbling in human x Pokemon.... Not sure if that's a kink of mine. It might be easier to "assume" that was the real Bianca kissing Ash, and not Latias... Even though the evidence points to the contrary. lol I'm used to burying my head in the sand~ XD

But I digress. Outside from Ash...? Uh.... Probably the only other Pokemon ship I like is Brock x Lucy (the Pike Queen). That episode in Battle Frontier was awesome. XD Beyond that, I can't think of other ships in Pokemon that I like. I haven't read the manga, so I'm neutral to any Red, Brendan, Krys, or any of their ship stuff. I do find Leaf to be cute. Claire is hilariously tsundere. Cynthia is bae~ Gardenia is cute. I love Team Magma Courtney, specifically her Omega Ruby version. She's crazy, but I like the crazy~ XD I don't necessarily ship those girls with Ash. Maybe Courtney x Brendan (Hoenn protagonist), but that's about it.

Not me revamping my self insert oc Mystic the occultist/sorcerer (who is married to v o l o) who was born in Sinnoh (Specifically Celestic Town)they spent their life enthralled with the ancient magick, philosophies of the Hisuian world and legendary pokemon specificlly Giratina . With their trusty Swablu and Absol as their partners they roamed many ruins across sinnoh and other regions. But now, due to them messing with rightfully sealed ancient forces, they became an accidental Chimera thing in their understanding of Giratina But of course, those dangerous grimores and rituals made Mystic an avatar of Giratina, especially in the eyes of the Hisuian people. But Mystic may or may not have been infused with Giratinas essence though to travel amongst the Distortion world and harness the eldritch forces of the renegade pokemon. Mystic being the arrogant chaos gremlin decided to tempt Arceus's favor and let's say possible realms and many minds of others were decimated due to Mystic's arrogance and carelessness

So arceus smited the sorcerer and yeeted them back in time to hisui. But there's a silly catch. Arceus decided to troll Mystic by connecting a red string of fate to an unknown lover(?) Mystic being the tsundere nihilistic and romantically inept creature hated arceus for doing t h a t. But Mystic in their self lothing doubted that they will not succeed in finding the one at the other end of the string. Little do they know Volo will be at the other end of that string of fate.

when Mystic was falling through the rift in hisui Volo saw a literal angel and / or a star falling. Due to the useless shadowy giratina wings Mystic had on their back, it really did look like a star and / or angel falling. Ofc volo wanted to get closer to said mysterious fallen creature. A gift from all mighty sinnoh above, an avatar of of the abyss and the distortion world.

After Mystic got immediately kicked out of the galaxy survey team due to setting fire to Kamandos desk and flinging mud balls(possibly bidoof created) at everyone for being superstitious assholes. They ran out to live in the wilderness cause fuck civilization it is time to live like Diogenes or the equivalent of. But Volo being the supernatural and mythology obsessed merchant was immediately even more infatuated with the mischievous abomination that fell from a botched portal from the sky so he gave Mystic a Togepi he caught to cheer Mystic up due to their deep set depression at the galaxy teams bullshit and Volo let Mystic stay at the ancient retreat with him and Cogita . Mystic being unaware that Volo is their soul tie goes on their day with said Togepi(that they named a vulgar name) and a hisuian Zorua (that will become their main partner Zoroark from now on) they caught from a space time distortion. exploring hisuian ruins but of course lo and behold cue Volo tagging along (sometimes without Mystics knowing )due to infatuated merchant man wants to get close to his "beloved divinity" but despite everyone despising Mystic for their assholish behaviors, sudden fallen angel appearance from the sky and many many many sins against the teaching of "almighty Sinnoh". Volo thought otherwise of Mystic. He saw something in Mystic that was beautiful and divine. Arcane, mysterious. A connection that went past the red string due to similarly being ostracized, wanting a better world with no strife (because of Mystic's nihilism and depression increasing tenfold due to people being assholes because Mystic was different and went against status quo soo Mystic saw no problem in eradicating everyone cause sadly no hope for humanity changing anytime soon. Hell Mystic didn't even wear the survey uniform and instead had always wildly brightly colored hair with fancy kimonos because, luckily, the second set of arms is retractable 🫠.) That endless curiosity for the mysteries of the world and going to crazy lengths to achieve said knowledge.

Blah blah blah Cue romance and shit between Mystic and Volo(due to this being too long already) and lets say Mystic and Volo discovered that they were eachothers soul ties(cue another long ass post about their shenanigans but this is just a drunken ramble) and decided to turn the tables on arceus.

And yes unholy unhinged union is still the ship name. Yes i posted an explanation of it. Yes volo knows how to use the red chain(he uses it as a le a s h to rein mystic in)

Fully agreed with all of this (well, save for maybe the confident and responsible gym leader bit, and its more the skills that come with it that I object to rather than confident and responsible traits themselves thanks to how AG and to a lesser degree DP and Best Wishes grossly mishandled the gym leaders by effectively turning them into Team Rocket clones. Took until Sun and Moon for me to be even slightly optimistic in her role as Gym Leader thanks to that egregrious writing they gave those gym leaders [either they're made into essentially Team Rocket in all but name, or they do come across as competent at the cost of Ash and Pikachu being wimpified in the process]. Besides, her goal was to be a Water Pokemon Master, which would require Elite 4 if not Champion level of skill). She's awesome, and quite frankly, seeing Misty being pillored as an abuser and constantly angry definitely makes me angered at the disrespect she gets from people (you want an abuser and someone who's constantly angry? Try Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina. Misty if anything was a genuinely nice girl with minimal anger compared to her. Heck, if anything, people like Naru and her posse, and especially how Misty, despite being a tsundere herself, is absolutely NOTHING like them overall, is PRECISELY why I'm such a loyal fan of hers, loyal enough to dedicate nearly two decades just to bring her back.). I mean, she repeatedly tried to help Ash out, even beyond the bike bit, was actually responsible for instances where Ash couldn't have gotten through otherwise (heck, couldn't have survived otherwise for that matter), and ultimately helped Ash become such a great trainer, and she also made every attempt to help out little siblings and bullied people, with it being implied she sympathized with them due to her background. Now, I won't deny she has a really fiery temper, but the fans REALLY have it overblown since her character was a LOT more than that.

And yes, also agreed that she ultimately was done dirty with how badly she got developed overall (we COULD have gotten more development for her, including conquering her fear of bug types and even explaining why she had the phobia of them, had she just been allowed into AG, but no... Masamitsu Hidaka, wanting to give eyecandy for the kids, just had her axed in favor of Team Rocket, basically shoved her off into a gym against her wishes via her sisters, with AG getting really bad quality afterwards thanks to way too many writing mistakes). They really should have kept her on, even give more focus on her goal in AG (not enough to surpass Ash, but definitely enough to be at equal standing with him and maybe May). I actually see QUITE a bit of potential in her Water Master goal, and especially in her character overall. Still, what little we actually GOT of her goal being defined was STILL a lot more than Ash's goal during that time (at least we had a fairly good idea that it entailed befriending Water Pokemon, participating in Whirl Cup-style tournaments, and essentially being around Elite 4/Champion level. Unfortunately, thanks to the writers, in one of the few flaws originating in the Original series, deciding to not count Orange Islands as an actual win for Ash, we essentially had no real framework for Ash's goal despite it being a major focus of the show, at best ambiguously implying it somehow related to the Pokemon League and battles.).

I don't mind carrots or bugs (though I am cautious around the latter since I know they have a chance of stinging or biting if I'm not careful). I definitely am fearful around peppers like Misty though, and specifically the hot kind (let's just say I've had a very bad experience with them).

Pokeaniweek day 2

I gave the top spot to not just my favorite character in Pokemon, but one of my favorite characters of all time. My absolute queen: Misty.

Misty is why I love Pokemon. When I was a kid, there couldn’t have been a character more tailor made for me if they’d tried. I was a tomboy, she was a tomboy. I loved romance and pretty things despite that, she did too. I was a swimmer, she was a water type trainer/swimmer. I had reddish hair, she was a red head. I had a temper and was very bossy when I wanted to be, same for her.

Seriously, it was insane the level of similarity.

So to have the female face of something so popular be someone who was basically an animated version of myself…pretty huge.

And that doesn’t even begin to cover her character/role in the show.

Misty and Ash were the bane of each other’s existence. Their dynamic was absolutely hilarious in the 90s, and actually much more nuanced than any of us were capable of grasping as kids. I watch it now as an adult and I fall even more in love with the spirited girl who just wanted to prove herself. The girl who wanted to help, but didn’t really know how. The girl who could communicate just fine until something happened that unbalanced her and she retreated into sarcastic snaps and angry retorts (oh, am I projecting again? For real. Can’t. Stress. This. Enough. I AM Misty.)

But here’s the kicker. She got to grow up a bit. She learned how to communicate more effectively. Somewhere along the line she began to actually care about the crazy kid she followed around. She actually became the mom friend to some extent (the big sister friend?). She kept Ash, and even Brock really, grounded. And by the time she appeared in Hoenn and again in Kanto during Battle Frontier…she was this amazing girl. She was kind, but still snarky. She was gentle but still tough as nails.She was a confident and responsible gym leader, but still joked around with Ash and Brock.

I stopped watching somewhere in the middle of Johto, but I came back to it after a certain green haired lad I’ll discuss later reeled me back in, and somehow, shockingly, she managed to have grown and changed in a way exactly parallel to myself as I became a teenager…I just…gah.  She was so well rounded. I can’t understand how people just decide she’s nothing but angry and abusive. It physically hurts my soul. Look at this girl…

I just…I could go on for hours and hours, pages and pages about how much I love Misty, and how much she means to me personally, but I think I’ll leave it here. I wish they would’ve delivered on her potential as a character, and I’ll always be a little (okay, a lot) annoyed about that. 

But hey, just remember, an all out offensive with water types is ALWAYS the best strategy. Peppers and bugs ARE totally nasty. (I actually love carrots lol). And being a tomboyish mermaid is the best way to be!

❄You two were out on one of the many snowy slopes in the city. Grusha had been excited for the past two days to hike up it with his snowboard and spend that time with you.

❄Even though his injury made him retire, he can still do easy slopes. Not many tricks, just going down.

❄Grusha is a bit of a tsundere show-off, so he'd already be salty over the fact he can't go all out like he used to.

❄You knew this, it's part of what makes him so loveable. Still, even when he's being a brat, there are some moments you wanna capture

❄While hiking up the trail, you two were laughing more often than normal, being silly.

❄So, you pulled out your phone and started sneakily recording. You could've sworn he saw, so you just continued to take videos when something funny happened.

❄You guys got to the top, and no one was on that particular slope that afternoon. Grusha had gone up and down the unofficial snowboarding hill several times per hour, while you only went like... twice maybe lol

❄It was more fun to sit on the top and play with your pokemon and make lunch than it was to freeze down a hill at 20mph and then hike all the way up again because there isn't a ski lift at every hill in the outskirts of town.

❄There was a space next to him, and he was facing the warm glow of the sunset. You kind of ran and slid next to him, making him laugh at you.

❄"Yeah, well, I kinda like being next to you. Now, come here!" You pulled him over to you and already had your phone on the camera.

Maybe things have changed since I last checked the Pokemon YouTuber landscape but. why did no one talk about the queercoding in Journeys past episode 3. I think I saw a few reactions to later episodes where people were like "ha that's kinda gay" but that was it

Like, I genuinely can't figure out why there aren't video essays being made about this, either to complain about it being gay (or romantic at all) or to advocate for it potentially becoming canon. Pokemon is like, one of the biggest anime series ever, you'd think implying a gay romance with its main character would turn a few heads but there's just. nothing?? Somehow???

There's... there's no way it's actually subtle enough to go over the heads of this many people on YouTube, right?? Not to mention Gou saying "that's so you" in a fond voice about Ash before asserting that he totally doesn't want help him out or anything like every tsundere character with a crush ever, or the way both Kiawe and Gary feel the need to test Gou to make sure he's a good "fit" for Ash, or the way that Ash is way more physically affectionate with Gou than any other previous companion, or the freakin spin hug--

THEY'RE EVEN ROOMMATES LIKE C'MON

I don't think I've ever seen a show this popular with this much queercoding in it have that aspect be almost completely absent from video discussions before, it'd be impressive if it wasn't so frustrating

The only explanations I can think of for why this is the case are:

Everyone who could be making videos about it are extremely tone deaf to queercoding

They're so confident in the idea that Pokemon would definitely never do anything gay that they brush it off completely

They want to associate with Gou as little as possible because he has a surprising amount of haters

Related: they're too busy being mad about Ash not catching Grookey or something similar to care about the interpersonal relationships happening in the show

All of which, kind of drive me insane I won't lie

I can see it now: Ash and Gou get together, YouTube explodes with videos claiming that this was totally out of left field, or maybe some will admit that Gou showed signs but adamantly refuse that Ash is even romantic enough to BE gay, or (more likely) saying he should've been with a different girl instead

And everyone else who was picking up on this since episodes 2 or 3 will be like "WE TRIED TO TELL YOU BUT YOU WOULDN'T LISTEN"

Oh so many things can happen with the tsum tsums since they can grow and shrink at will.

They're super cuddly too, imagine the baby Pokémon riding on their parent's tsum tsum version like a horse (≧▽≦)

Milcery would be floating around Tsum Tsum Ace and just be curious about. Probably poking at Tsum Tsum Ace and eventually settling on top of its head. Definitely gets carried by Tsum Tsum Ace via horsie transportation.

Happiny is just clutching onto her Daddy's Tsum Tsum with all her strength and snuggling it like a giant pillow. Deuce Tsum Tsum doesn't have the heart to say no to this tiny little bun because I envision there are Tsum Tsum versions of the Pokemon, and thus, Tsum Tsum Deuce gets to play with Happiny. Happiny would definitely zoom around with Tsum Tsum Deuce while Tsum Tsum Soni would ensure the both of them don't get hurt in the process in its own Tsum Tsum way.

Morpeko, I can see being fine with another Ruggie around, but sharing snacks when in Hangry Mode is going to be a definite challenge between the two of them. Once they figure something out, they'd be quick friends, given how they both go to Ruggie for food and might scheme something together.

Sobble would be both amazed by this smaller version of Tsum Tsum Azul and have tea parties with it. It wouldn't climb on top of Tsum Tsum Azul, mostly because Azul lets Sobble rest on his shoulder regardless. Sobble would think the small hat of Tsum Tsum Azul is like his own and is very happy when Tsum Tsum Azul agrees.

Joltik would feel like a Tsum Tsum actually and it's hilarious when Tsum Tsum Kalim wants to stack on top of Joltik for a hot second. They have a bunch of fun adventures like swinging around with webs in the dorm and causing Jamil (both versions of them) to panic because of Joltik and Tsum Tsum Kalim causing chaos.

Rowlet would be puffing up at Tsum Tsum Rook and it's just crazy how much they seem to jump around the other. In the end, it's like they're playing hide-n-seek. Bidoof is just chilling with Tsum Tsum Vil and relaxing like a chill grandpa, which isn't wrong, given his age.

For Soni's Tsum Tsum, I rolled to see the general personality of it and it's a super tsundere. Whenever one of the Pokemon goes near Tsum Tsum Soni, it would be pretty chill, given that Tsum Tsum Soni would've gone into the same levels of trouble as Soni normally. Tsum Tsum Soni would be most comfortable with her normal self, although is often seen around Tsum Tsum Ace and Deuce, probably to see if they're not causing chaos.

Dior would think Tsum Tsum Soni is cute, although given how Tsum Tsum Soni reacted to that compliment with a grumpy glare that looked adorable, Dior restrains herself from giving away that line of thinking.

Yes Pokemon! I always get happy when someone recognizes my icon! I’ve had it for so long that I hesitate to change it everytime I get interested in a new series.

I have never wanted Grim to overblot so badly cause we all know when that happens shit is gonna go down in the friend group. I mean Ace is definitely gonna get some character development later on. He’s still yet to get his unique magic after all, so for now we must patiently wait.

A while ago you said in a post that Ace’s isolation seems to come from how he values Yuu and Deuce’s friendship more and I think you perfectly worded how I feel. I would like to hear more about it if you have more to say!

Like yeah he’s a very friendly and outgoing guy. He can easily make friends/acquaintances but there’s also a clear line between those friends and where Deuce Yuu and Grim stands.

He gets along really well with his seniors as seen by his relationships with the basketball club, Playful Land and hell I bet this new event will prove that too. But it gives me more of a vibe of a younger kid endearingly annoying his older classmates than friendship.

Among the first years, he doesn’t seem to be as close to them as Deuce is. Like Deuce and Epel have this whole bond going on because of Chapter 5, Deuce and Jack are in the same club etc. Ace is kind to his fellow first years and helps them out like in Fairy Gala If with Ortho but again there’s this divide. Everyone knows it’s Ace, Deuce, Yuu and Grim as the group.

Multiple people have mentioned how those 4 are constantly together and how it’s rare to see one without the other and I think that’s really important when you take into consideration on how Ace literally ditched his last girlfriend because they were too different in terms of taste (well there’s more to unpack with that but that’s not what I’m here to talk about). Quality time is hugely important with Ace in my opinion, he wouldn’t hang out with people he hates and seeing the amount of time he spends time with those three and how the game makes an active effort to make us pay attention to it tells us that yeah Ace definitely values his friendship with Deuce, Yuu and Grim more than the others and why Ace feels so separated from the other first years at times.

He also tends to keep people at arms length because of his inability to really express affection towards his friends so it just comes across as him being snarky and mean when that’s really not the case. This also does show with Deuce Yuu and Grim yet goes to help them whenever he gets the chance, buys gifts for them, spends time with them etc. Like bro his actions tell otherwise it’s so funny he’s like a tsundere.

I think his exterior kind of makes it hard to people to really get close to him and I think he purposely does that, so to see him have obvious bias towards a group of people is really important.

Gotta admire his loyalty, once you’ve proven yourself he’s sticking with you for the rest of his life. Sorry for rambling but uh yeah your response gave me thoughts.

Yes very much this. Ace is the baby of his family, and there seems to be a decent age gap between him and his brother. He repeatedly talks about wanting to be like his seniors, and Jamil mentions at least once he is generally respectful towards them. His level up lines imply he wants to try challenging Riddle again, but it seems less because he disrespects him and wants to be dorm leader and more because he wants to prove he's gotten stronger.

Friend groups

So I have been thinking since the first and second time we talked about this trying to pick out who exactly Ace's friend group even is outside of Yuu and Deuce and ??? Deuce knew who Epel was before you properly met and he and Jack do seem to get along pretty well but Ace? They're all the youngest in their families and look up to their seniors to varying degrees but still. Ace specifically, like you said, is literally always around either Yuu or Deuce. In Idia's lab wear vignette Ace literally stays over alone with Yuu to watch horror movies and sends Grim to get the drinks alone 💀 like sir? Hello? And he implies he's done this more than once??? I like the idea of quality time being important to Ace, he says the most important thing for him in a partner is someone you have fun with and like being around so yeah. That makes sense for him.

I think back on how Ace initially interacted with Yuu and Deuce and, while at first I was a bit hesitant to say Ace keeps people at arms length, but you can literally see him doing that in the prologue. He's a brat towards people his own age, and while I imagine he has always been super popular to a degree I don't know if I can see him ever having had as deep of a friendship with anyone as he has Yuu and Deuce. I'm not sure if I would say he does it on purpose 100% of the time, but his Suitor Suit vignette does seem to imply he does it when he feels particularly embarrassed by something. He isn't just like a tsundere, he is one and honestly I was not expecting to like him as much as I do because tsundere isn't really one of my favorite tropes.

Hey Peach, it's Sceptile guy back with good news! I spread your advice to not call the rangers around town and explained the situation, having a professor's opinion really calmed people down. In the days since I found out what had spooked people; it sometimes hangs out by a grade school that's fenced off from the woods and watches the kids! Oh good! Glad it hasn't been disturbed. They're usually not as hostile or territorial as you'd expect from a 3rd evolution. Thank you for spreading the word, they'll protect those who need it, and the forest too. It's a good pokemon to have around, observant, probably appreciates the food you've been putting out no doubt. Hopefully it brings you luck and security! The youngsters for sure will come on in leaps and bounds with his leadership and help, playing is often training in disguise with many mons.

That is EFFECTIVELY what happens with Scarnoa, except Koraidon doesn’t really need a sandwich and just grabs Scarnoa and carries her off like some mama cat with a kitten. Koraidon still steals her sandwiches. :V

Semi feral child gets kept feral by massive lizard. More at 11 after Scarnoa processes the fact that the professors have apparently fucked, because Arven is their son. So in this fic, expect them to both be Arven’s parents. Hilarity ensues because “WHAT.”

Playing this game in Spanish has been a riot, what with all the Spain Spanish fucking me over at times (fun fact: when you pick languages, it DOES state that the Spanish is SPAIN Spanish). That said, I know a lot more Spanish than I give myself credit for, because I’m able to read everything without too much difficulty. It’s just Spain colloquialism fucking me up, and the fact that I know Mexican Spanish.

Scarnoa is in for a ride. Especially since I finally got to the scene where I learned Penny’s name in the game and since it’s in Spanish, she is Noa. So SPIDER MAN POINTING MEME TIME.

That aside, there are SO MANY BIRDS, and I’m so happy!!! A freaking flamingo, parakeet, ostrich, duck...BIRDS EVERYWHERE. It’s amazing. I plan on doing a bird-only Nuzlocke after this run (in English), so keep an eye out for that.

Also unrelated but you unlocked something in my brain: Mammon has a murder of murkrow and a few head honchkrow that love to make fun of him and laugh very loudly, very audibly when he gets flustered or too tsundere-y in front of the mc. They love him dearly, but it's just way too easy to fluster their master.

Lucifer has a ninetales, it's old as dirt and every ninetales/vulpix he's ever had has come from the same line. It's descended from a vulpix Lilith picked up in the human realm from before the war. That ninetales, the first ninetales, shares the same tomb with her.

Levi has a plethora of water-types as his buddies, along with a dragonair that seems to like to hang out along the Devildom coast. The dragonair is calm and cool, and never minds Levi's rants as long as there's food involved.

Satan has cats, of course. Lots of them. A catty, lazy persian is his main, but he also currently owns a skitty. He has also attempted to adopt a meowth, a litleo, and a litten in the past, only for him to have to give them up because "that's too many pokemon in the house, Satan" and "they're ruining the furniture, Satan". It's probably ninety percent of the reason why he just sits back and watches if his persian wants to use Lucifer's office door as a scratching post.

Asmo loves anything cute! I see him with a fennekin, gifted by Solomon, who he eventually (begrudgingly, sadly) lets evolve into a delphox. They are inseparable. He also has a buneary/lopunny. And an ariados, because it's adorable, and he can isolate and utilize the venom in it's fangs for his beauty products, and for shitty dates (:

Beel has a munchlax, I can't unsee it, but I also don't think he'd ever let it evolve into a snorlax because at that point it's straight up competition for food, you know? But the big guy wants an eating buddy, and the little munchlax is so enthusiastic and adorable! I also think he'd have a gallade - a fighting-type whose whole purpose is to protect, he's had it since it was a little ralts in the Celestial Realm.

Belphie's best buddy is a gengar, who he's had since it was a gastly during Belphie's first days in the Devildom. They've got a good system going; Belphie will put a human into an eternal sleep, trapped in a never-ending nightmare, and his baby gengar gets a whole buffet until that mortal's vitality is completely burned out. Because of that, the two of them are inseparable. Belphie also has a musharna, which sleeps about as much as he does, if not more, and can help give him good dreams if he's too stressed out. He met his musharna as a munna, also in the Celestial Realm.

I won't go into too much detail with the dateables because this is too long already, but I think Solomon would train mostly psychic types and Luke would have a togepi that lived in his hat. That is all, thank you.

As for your question - like Ash’s Pikachu, Duck would allow Ducklett to make the decision on whether or not to evolve.

I imagine Duck got Ducklett and Cottonee when they were young - Cottonee was super energetic, so Duck needed to use them in battle regularly and eventually evolved them to allow them to fight stronger opponents.

Venipede would’ve been Duck’s first “proper catch” and she would’ve tried really hard to train her properly. Scolipede often acts as the “team mom” of Duck’s team, trying to keep the other pokemon out of trouble.

A Ralts just started following Duck around one day and now they have a Kirlia. He’s trying to figure out whether he wants to be a Gardevoir or a Gallade, so Duck gave him an everstone.

Duck found Mimikyu with a busted disguise and got Levi to fix it. They’ve stuck around ever since.

Cresselia appeared some time after Duck received the ring of light and gave Duck a chance to prove themselves worthy - thankfully, with Scolipede and Mimikyu, the battle turned in their favour pretty quick.

Hard agree on all of what you’ve said. I’d also add:

A Dusknoir and Hydreigon for Lucifer. Fits in with his dark aesthetic and three-headed dragon… three-headed dog… Luci’s got a theme going.

Mammon being teased by his Pokémon makes so much sense! I also want him to have a Klefki. It makes so much sense, right? A cute partner in crime!

Levi would totally rescue and rehabilitate water-type pokemon. He might even be able to communicate with them. There’s a little Luvdisc that refused to leave him after he took care of it, so now it shares the tank with Henry.

I think Satan would also have an affinity for psychic and highly intelligent pokemon. This might be from me playing Pokémon reborn but I imagine he has a Gothorita that helps organise his books and a Chimecho to help him calm down.

Asmo would also have a Drapion, you cannot tell me otherwise. He loves polishing its scales.

Beel could also have a Tropius - a Pokémon that grows fruit, so that he can have a snack nearby. He might also have a little Timburr or Tyrogue that wants to train with him.

Belphie with a Musharna is so perfect, and Gengar as a trouble-making partner. I struggle to think of something else… but if Lilith had a Vulpix, I think he might have an Arcanine. Warm and cuddly to sleep with.
