I would like to pop in and say I am DETERMINED (pun fully intended) to get more activity going on this blog, and I am so very thankful and happy to see how many people have stuck around despite the VERY long hiatus things have taken!

I've filled the queue for Fanart Friday and will be trying to keep it filled every week (or maybe every other week) AND will be opening up for requests on Monday, January 6th! (AND maybe even opening up for new Mod Applications as well!)

once again the next post has rapidly spiralled into pose making, but i'm trying my best to have it up tomorrow 🤞🏻

At last finished Melmoth the Wanderer last night. I might need a moment to recover.

Pre-HRT, I hated my voice. I avoided talking, especially to strangers, didn't say anything in classes and only really had longer conversations with close friends. I could not stand the sound that came out of me. A little bit of that discomfort stayed after my voice dropped (significantly) on T. Because to me, it still sounded too high, felt like it "gave me away" to people. For a long while, I was distraught about it and even thought maybe hormones didn't work on my body. Yeah it got better, but it wasn't good.

Then I started a new job in early childhood care two years ago. Spending 8 hours a day with children under 6 involves a lot of reading out loud to them, and even more talking. And since then, there has been consistent feedback about my voice and way of talking, by both children and adults. The words they use the most? "Soothing". "Calm". "Pleasant". Children come up to me with books all the time. When I interned in an elementary school, the kids said their favorite thing was me reading to them each day, and that they would miss it when I'm gone. Teachers and supervisors and coworkers have said they really like listening to me, that my voice alone can project so much calm and comfort.

For the first time in my entire life, I love my voice. It may still break and crack when I get excited, but it's my voice and people see it as a positive quality in me. I love my voice.

I finally said "fuck it" and just got a new computer. Newegg had a very nice one marked down a good deal for Black Friday and I can upgrade individual parts as I need it. IT JUST SUCKS because it's been a lot of time and grief for three laptop motherboards that just didn't work out and now it's been over 2 months. :')

My favorite thing about J. Jonah Jameson is that he just hates Spider-Man. He supports mutants and doesn't hate enhanced people. He's not racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic. He just hates Spider-Man. And I'm half convinced that he's faking for the publicity.

He'd probably get pissed if he hears someone hating on Spider-Man for being enhanced.

"Spiderman isn't a menace because he can climb walls! He's a menace because he's climbing walls without a license or safety equipment! He's setting a bad example!"

"I just want you to know that you that your identity as an enhanced person is valid. Your identity as Spiderman is trash."

Quilt update. This is split somewhere in the blues and I have to sew that together and then I have to add one more yellow row to the top. Then the quilt top is finally, finally done.
