Not me getting teary-eyed over Sylus's No Way Out (Tender Moments) story. Kudos once again to his VA for delivering his lines with so much emotion. I will probably be bawling when we get more hints from his lore.

no dude im so obsessed with doc in general, and restoration did not fucking help.
this man. this inept medic. he saved two people. two people in his entire life. he lost so many people. he saved two. donut and wash. he saved two people. only two? no. not only two. two whole people. two whole people that get to live because of the choices he made.
but like... s11-13 wash barely seemed to care about doc.barely register. take him for granted, just like everyone else. how much do you think that hurt? when this man he didn't even clock was missing saves his life and dies in the process?
this man he knew. this man he dragged around the desert. this man that argued with him. bantered. was hurt the same way he was. had had his mind torn into by an ai. that wash barely gave the time of day after s8. a man that had been hurt like him, and yet, cards down, lives on the line, decided that wash should be the one to live. this man that wash barely gave the time of day.
this man saved two people in his life. two people he cared so much about. and only in hindsight does wash probably realize he didn't care enough. didn't realize just how much he cared about doc's stupid quips and banter until he was gone. do you think him and donut grieved? i wonder if he's buried in valhala. the same place where wash shot donut, where doc saved him. where doc and donut lived happily, until they got wash's distress signal
this medic. this medic wash said should go back to not understanding medicine. this medic saved him and died for it. this medic died for it and wash had hardly given him the time of day. what did wash do? what did he do to deserve someone that kind in his life?
it's no wonder he took the loss hard, is all i'm saying. he doesn't want to take his life for granted again. doesn't want to forget doc again. it's hard to let go when he's already dropped it before and now his hands are shaking from how hard he's gripping.
but doc was good, so so good, and doc would want him to move on from that. to not feel bad. to learn something and keep going. because hey, doc saved wash's life so that he could continue living it
yes, i hear you. i hear you loud and clear.
doc/wash as a relationship is endlessly fascinating to me in hindsight. they start hanging out in s8 when doc is actively held captive by wash & maine and they carry him around in a carbonite wall. they repeatedly reference han & leia from star wars together. maine is their chewbacca. doc implies a stockholm syndrome thing is going on here. there's multiple comments about them having an "odd couple" dynamic in the s8 directors commentary. doc saves wash's life. they literally do not talk again until like halfway through chorus. for some reason. and then wash has a doc tulpa in restoration. just some guy he knew and kinda hated on the entire time he knew him. why is it doc of all people. Whwt was going on there. Does this keep anyone else up at night I've been thinking about whatever their relationship was for like a decade. whyd they give them a dynamic that went so hard in s8 and then just never revisited whatever that was ever again. Can anyone hear me
#restoration makes me insane#like so insane#its not good#its good*****#and those asterisks contain galaxies of words unsaid#and it fascinates me#captivates my heart and imagination#and also i am cheesy and emotional#and a lil bitch#i love wash and i love doc and i love donut and i love all of them#docington#docingtonrvb#rvb#wash rvb#washington rvb#doc rvb#david washington#frank dufresne#red vs blue#i think about them all the time#so much#killing doc was ballsy#and arguably a bad choice narratively#but the fallout is *fascinating and tragic* to think about#about how inherently tragic the unceremonious and barely-acknowledged death of a maligned almost-side character is#and the kind of regret that those who live might feel#rvb makes me insane

"You were hiding this from me?" (from Zephia!)
MEME ┊accepting.
Hiding, she accused him of—yet he didn't think of it as hiding. Rather, Alear did not quite understand exactly what she was upset about. What had he hidden? Was there something amiss that he was not aware of? Zephia was not one to become angry unless he had truly made a mistake or failed her expectations, neither of which the manakete recalled doing.
❝ I don't understand, ❞ his monotone voice replied, hinting confusion. His eyes shifted to take in the mage dragon's furrowed brows, subtle glare, and down turned lips. Ah, she wasn't pleased. Shaking his head, he denied her accusation, ❝ I have not hidden anything from you. ❞ What he stated was truth. He had not concealed a thing as far as he knew... but the other? He could not speak for that person, the one that kept getting in the way.
Then he followed the elder dragon's gaze toward his feet. Pausing at his ankle, he caught sight of a white cloth tied around it. Was this... where had this come from? Such a color did not belong on his clothing. Assuming this was what Zephia was referring to, Alear crouched down and untied the out of place cloth, holding it in hand as it revealed the presence of a relatively fresh wound trickling droplets of blood down his leg.
But he had not recalled stepping into battle to obtain such a minor injury (why was Zephia so perturbed by this insignificant wound?). Paying no mind to the stinging sensation along the cut and the fact the wound was susceptible to infection now that the bandage had been removed, Alear stood up and straightened out his legs, preparing to head off as he saw no other pressing inquiry from her to address.
Clutching the cloth in his hand, he spoke to relieve what he assumed were her concerns, ❝ I will go treat this. You need not worry about such a trivial injury. ❞ Surely Mauvier could quickly mend this wound with a staff, and then Zephia would no longer worry for him.

I’m not sure if this is permitted in other countries, but here in the US, advertisers are allowed to use any kind of malignant psychology they want in their ads so long as those ads fit within the allotted time-frame.
Back in high school, my class watched a video on how a certain Coca-Cola advertisement was made. You may have seen it, but for those who haven’t: The ad featured a cinematic montage of a crowded beach with smiling thin white people enjoying their leisure time and drinking Coca-Cola out of a common plastic bottle.
The big takeaway from this video was that the ad wasn’t actually advertising Coca-Cola. It was advertising a lifestyle. By associating Coca-Cola with a desirable lifestyle (as well as qualities associated with desirability) it plants the association of “Coca-Cola” with “happiness” in people’s subconscious minds.
This becomes clear when you consider who the ad was meant for. The target audience wasn’t the smiling thin white people that the ad featured, but instead it was people who wanted to be smiling thin white people. This was an ad for the Gen X mom of three kids who worked full-time, who relied on shelf-stable foods to keep everyone fed, and whose nervous system was chronically fried from the stress of never having adequate time for herself.
If she was at the grocery store, and saw the very same bottle of Coca-Cola featured in that ad, she’d be far more likely to pick it up than she was before watching it. If she didn’t anticipate finding relief for her stress, then she could at least drink up the idea of it.
Of course, the thing about ads is that they stop working. Eventually, people’s minds grow wise to the fact buying a certain product doesn’t actually grant them the lifestyle associated with them.
But there’s a lot of other tricks ads employ beyond this.
The reason why Geico is the first company you consider when thinking about buying car insurance is because of the calm, consistent nature of their ads and the fact they’re ubiquitous enough to be familiar. Their mascot forms a kind of parasocial rapport with the audience, so Geico already feels familiar to you by the time you’re looking to buy insurance.
Cereal brands use cartoon-character-like mascots to make their product memorable to kids who can’t read. The reason why so many cereal mascots exhibit such frenetic, possessive behavior is to teach kids to emulate that behavior to compel parents into buying them the cereal, especially if they saw that behavior rewarded in the ad (with the cereal).
You only really see ads for apps on an app-based devices for a reason.
Then there are the ads that don’t look like ads, but look like people on TikTok sharing a new secret product with their audience using the only communication format we regularly trust: word-of-mouth.
And let’s not forget the sheer magnitude of ads that exist. I can’t go outside without seeing them. I can’t watch videos online without exposing myself to ads that wants to skewer my emotions within 10 seconds.
There’s no reprieve from it unless I wall myself off from our culture entirely.
Ads are parasites to both culture and to cognition, and they must be regulated.

Do you have anymore things for Unicorns Dogma???? That one art you posted looks so interesting and I need to know more
i do! you can see all art i share of it on my Toyhouse, and any animations I'll post on tiktok or twitter!
🦄 Here's a compilation of concepts!
^ Charchell, the protagonist of the story (post infection)! He was once a prestigious prince and heir to a great kingdom, but was captured by malicious demons who wanted to use his celestial blood to revive an evil god that had been slain eons ago. His temperament took a turn for the worse after suffering months of captivity and a cruel infection of his purity, turning him into a disheveled husk of his former self.
^ Young Charchell and some of his family (Pre Infection). He was kept under strict expectations growing up, creating a small pit of explosive emotions that sat dormant in his psyche that he refused to let out.

^ Some more general stuff of him after his corruption. It caused him to snap and let go of his inhibitions, cascading into a drastically different personality that was altered by the malignant ichor injected into his body. He fell pray to its influence despite knowing better. He also finds out that some of his own kind were conspiring with the same demons that tortured him, and doesn't know who to trust anymore in a world he once thought as kind. He makes grave mistakes in his fits of heartbreak and anger, he struggles with his identity, and has to come to terms with his past to battle the greater evil that caused all this in the first place.
Everything is still prone to change, but i've been making pretty good progress on the story and characters, so if it's something that interests you, I'd be glad to talk about it some more! There's still lots to of lore and world building left to be said! :^]

Diasomnia sexuality (and some gender) headcanons I just wanted to yap about for no reason:
Malleus: Demiromantic Bisexual
-> There's that joke that he doesn't gaf about gender as long as it's Yuu, but (for the demiromantic part) I also like the idea that he's ride-or-die, sentimental and clingy for anyone he gets close to. So generally the only difference for how he cares about people is the type of attraction + specific boundaries (can be slightly possessive in a different way for a romantic interest? Idk)
-> Also not really sexuality but I see his gender as that "I'm probably nonbinary but I have a job so idrc about that rn" tweet but for being the next king In general I think being acespec & nonbinary would be extra perplexing for bro since he never stopped to think about personal identity stuff like that for too long (too duty-pilled🥀)
-> Being dense about regular emotional experiences + actual difference in the norms of attraction and gender add to the gap of understanding between him and others
Lilia: Bisexual (not really a sexuality but he's also polyamorous)
-> This isn't sexuality again but I also think transfeminine Lilia is cool, I genuinely believed that Lilia was just a woman with a really deep voice the first time I saw him (I was watching him vs Leona in Book 2 out of context). There's no way to easily explain this in English but by this the specific identity i see him as is basically 'bakla' in the Philippines. It is really its own gender identity in our culture and isn't a "direct equivalent" of any one anglophone label, but for the sake of non-filipinos i guess you can just understand this to mean i see Lilia as "nonbinary transfem in the Filipino way"👍
-> I think it would align with his story in a good way with how she's maligned by the senate and such, how even as a soldier Lilia was coloring her hair for style. It's also like that thing where a guy who was already considered obviously effeminate and "one of the girls" atp (I see Meleanor as kids playing with Lilia in typically "girly" ways and encouraging his cuteness/hair styling) comes out later on as actually a girl/fem nonbinary
-> General Lilia is this is that type of situation where a transfem person can't really go all out with their expression because current life-threatening circumstances require "masculinity" or their focus to be exclusively on external matters (in this case its Lilia being a lowly bat soldier in an active war. Similar to Malleus, an idea of patriotic obligation stops him from really questioning or exploring since the country needs "strength" and "unity" in these times, there was also just really little time to wonder when you're fighting for your life everyday). But after retiring Lilia is able to realize she likes being perceived as cute and begins going all out in her appearance👍
Lilia edit with the article this headcanon reminds me of:

Silver: Aroace
-> Thought it would be a kind of cool subversion of the usual fairytale prince archetype Silver is made to emulate, where romance is the greatest and purest love and marriage is THE happy end. I think it aligns with Silver wanting to spend his life "repaying" the kindness of Malleus and Lilia; if they asked him to think about gertting a family of his own in the future, I think he'd just say the true love he's found in life is already them. A knight who dedicates his lifetime devotion to familial love instead
Sebek: Gaylm
-> One of bro's most notable character gags is glazing another man at every opportunity so yeah /j. Also fsr I just can't see him as a man romantically with a woman no matter what lol
(THIS ISN'T OBJECTIVE THOUGH this is just how I personally sense his vibes. Go crazy fellow fem yumes and OC artists. You are the pillars of this earth)
⚠️ My only disclaimer is that I am cisgender so the gender headcanons are only me relating the characters to scholarly articles on transfem experiences/from personal accounts of transfem and nonbinary people online and irl.
Another reminder that these are all headcanons made by viewing canon in a specific way, not me saying they're definitively any of these identities. You can still have cis or male malleus and lilia if you prefer that😭
That is all. Thank you for reading👊🔥

Virgo women always have a perfect straight noses 👃
Scorpio SUN s are not as intense Scorpio moons or Scorpio Mars? 🌑
Gemini men and women observe everything going on in the world and they’re very very good at multitasking and having many friends and being many different types of people,🧚🏼
Leos can’t count, whether your man or Leo woman, you find it really hard to add up and do anything mathematically 💰
Virgo can talk the ear off you more than a Gemini can Geminis tend to observe the world more? Where is Virgo like to talk about everything I had it be the other way round where Virgo is brain diarrhoea and Gemini is verbal diarrhoea but I think it’s the other way around sometimes except when Virgo do you get obsessive thoughts ,🤨🗣️
Pisces men and most feminine man of the zodiac , along cancer men ,🌸

Cancer be more aggressive than Scorpios in a lot of way there were a lot more verbal about it. Where is Scorpios? There a lot tend to do things a lot more sneaky, especially Scorpio Mars and Scorpio mercury.🫥
Virgo men are not like Virgo women, they can be very annoying and very annoying, they are very so so dub dub, they are very wishy-washy 🤨
Signs most likely to be narcissist and the type of narcissist they were, Leo malignant narcissist, Pisces covert narcissist, sagittarius psychopathic narcissist Aquarius coercive narcissist .😎
Capricorn Placement can actually be very emotional just as much as cancers they just have a different way of expressing it. I need somebody well it’s actually my mother who is a Capricorn Stellium and she’s very emotional but she just doesn’t know how 🤪to put it into way
All the signs of water signs and the fire sign he tried to be the cool mum,👩🏼
Sagittarius are as vain as Leo but in a different kind of, they care about clothes and how they look they just aren’t as extreme about it 🌞
If you have your Mars in a fire sign, you are awesome, especially if it’s Leo or Aries 🔥

Hawkins🤝Jerusalem's Lot, Season 5 Theory:

To start, Jerusalem's Lot is a town from Stephen King novel, Salem's Lot. It's a peaceful town that had some tragic events on it past, and it's used by a force of evil to do his evil deeds. By this resume, we can notice some similarities with Hawkins from Stranger Things, and now i will go deep into them (i know Salem's Lot came before Stranger Things👌).
Creel House and Marsten House

Murders happened in both of these houses. Hubie Marsten killed his spouse and himself on the Marsten House, later on a vampire named Kurt Balow buyed this house and used it as his base. Henry Creel (Vecna) lived on the Creel House with his parents and sister, after having contact with a evil force from another dimension he decided to kill all of his family.
Both houses are described as having some evil force behind it, even before the main villain starts to live there. The Marsten House was known as house with a malign presence, Hubie Marsten was a suspect from killing 4 teenagers before he killed himself and his wife when he lived there, and if i remember correctly, some people suspected he was possessed, just like what some people said about Henry's father after he was accused of killing his family. The Creel House had a evil presence behind it too, the Mindflayer because he was connected to Henry, and Henry himself after having most control of his powers. For it to be possible to Vecna and the whole Upside Down come to Hawkins it was necessary four kills ,and Henry tested his powers by killing his family, and as it was mentioned Hubie Marsten killed 4 teenagers years before Kurt Barlow came to Salem's Lot, and it was mentioned in the books that after he killed his family the house spiritual presence got way worse.
The Henchmans, The Lower Vampires, and The Flayed:

Approximately 30 years after both accidents, an evil force used each house as their bases. Kurt Barlow alongside with his henchman Richard Straker used the Marsten House to hid himself from the sunlight, while he killed and devoured some people and transformed others. Vecna and the Mindflayer had two henchmans, Will on season 2 and Billy on season 3. Billy as a henchman was the most similar to Richard, both were charming and strong. They were necessary to make sacrifices to their masters, so they could walk freely on the human world/town. Richard killed a little boy as a offer to make it possible to Kurt Barlow walk freely on Salem's Lot, Billy kidnapped and give people for the Mindflayer/Henry to possess, and helped them to track Eleven and took her power, so they could finally open gates. At the end both of them died by the hand of their masters for not having no use for them anymore.
The Vampires and The Flayed are people with a artificial charisma, even though they're being kind you can see their true intention, because they have weird manners. They seem to only obey their master and nobody else, both are sadistics and like to play with the emotions of people they're hunting.
The Town Folks

Both towns are apparently good to live and with respectful citizens, but it is a lie. On the chapters about the city in Salem's Lot book it's shows that these people hide their sins and bruises using a facade that only show their acceptable side, the same as Hawkins citizens as it's showed to us after Vecna use his power to enter peoples minds. Couples that are falling apart, husbands that beat their wifes, parents that don't love their children and punish them, resentful old people that enjoy the suffering of others.
Kurt Barlow and Henry Creel (Season 5 Speculation)

(Kurt Barlow artwork by devilkais on deviantart)
Excluding the famous horrific look of Kurt Barlow on the movies, in the books he is described as a charming and hot old man using an elegant suit, just like Henry on these paparazzi pics from season 5.
Kurt Barlow uses his looks and powers to lure people, Henry uses his powers to lure people too, and now with this new look it's already confirmed that he will lure Holly, and i find it believable that he will use it with others citizens of Hawkins, it would be a waste to only use it with Holly. After lure these people, he could infect them with some Upside Down virus that probably came from those weird plants from the BTS pics. There's paparazzi pics of a women with something inside her head, like a creature, it could be the work of Henry. In Salem's Lot book, the city would get progressively empty, nobody in the streets, "people" only appeared by night to hunt humans, and it's already known that there will be kids being captured by the military, so the rest of the adults being captured and infected by Henry until there's almost no human in the town streets would be pretty much probable.
Henry could convince people that aren't infected yet that all of this is the gang fault, and focus mainly on blaming all of this on Will.
How this would contribute to the season plot
It's already clear that this season will have a lot of religious themes, and what is more dangerous than a charismatic and good looking guy using this to convince people from a small town to chase their outcast citizens? It already happened on season 4 with Jason, a blonde good looking guy that has his ways with words, putting all the town against Eddie and The Hellfire Club. Just imagine a scene where the gang is trying to make the church people understand that Will and themselves aren't the bad guys and suddenly Henry came from the front door and make everybody believe they are in fact the bad guys.
When we think about this as the weird kids being chased by crazy religious people it is already scary, but imagine what is about to happen after they discover about Will and Robin little secret, or even about Vickie or Mike, it can be a very good plot about the hate and intolerance those people had and still has for gay people. For me it would be very dissapoint if they don't use Henry influence to fuck with all these people heads.

hello sweetheart! have you ever thought about writing valeria x fem!reader who is prone to crying? this idea suddenly came to me after spending a lot of time in my day reading and re-reading your valeria x reader fanfics. i don’t know if you still take requests, but if not, consider this a writing idea for the future X3
(btw, i love you and your works so so muchhhhhh! your tumblr is clearly a paradise for valeria garza fangirls 😭💕💕💕)
Sweetheart? Oh my, I'm swooning!
I love it when people say they re-read my fics, makes me feel all warm inside. Yes stranger on the internet! Fuel my ego! Give me that instant dopamine hit! As someone who cries a lot, I needed to write this
I love you too, anonymous asker! Doing my civic duty of providing Valeria content
(Name has nothing to do with the fictional creatures.)
Tags/Warnings: WLW, Emotional Hurt, Comfort (Kind Of.), Valeria is Mean but regrets it, Sensitive reader
Weeping Angel
You're crying again. Valeria had returned home later than usual and when you asked about it, her tone was slightly different. Not as soft as usual. It doesn't take much to make you cry. Saltine tears swiftly well up in your eyes as you fall silent. Valeria feels frustrated. She is someone who rarely cries, who is used to being around stronger people. She still isn't sure how to handle you and your endless fountain of tears.
You turn your head and wipe at your eyes with your sleeve. Valeria sighs and rubs her face, trying to reel in her temper. She has to remind herself that you're more delicate than she is. You aren't trying to manipulate her with crocodile tears, you're just truly, very sensitive. She both hates and loves that about you.
"Look, I told you I have a lot to do." She says, attempting to soften her voice but even she can hear the irritation seeping through her words. Valeria just doesn't understand how a grown adult is unable to regulate their feelings.
"...Okay." You reply passively, voice thick with sadness.
Valeria wishes you were stronger.
"Stop crying." She says sternly. "I hate it when you do that. I didn't even do anything, why are you trying to make me feel bad?" Valeria knows that's not what you're trying to do, and she knows she's only making things worse. You look at her with wide, wet eyes.
"Why are you yelling at me?"
"Why do you take everything so personally? I'm not yelling." she grits out.
Your lips twitch down into a frown. It would be almost comical if she didn't have to deal with you and your dramatic tears.
"God. I can't deal with this." She continues. Venting all her frustrations that have been slowly growing like a malignant tumor. "I don't think you understand how hard it is to deal with you. I can't say anything without offending you." You just stand there and take it. Tears running rivers down your cheeks. "It's like walking on eggshells around you. It's exhausting."
"Don't talk to me like that." You say. frowning at her.
"'Don't talk to me like that'?" Valeria growls, getting up in your face. Out of the corner of her eye she can see your hands shaking. She knows confrontation isn't your strong suit. "You're allowed to whine and bitch but the second I do it I'm the bad guy?"
You struggle to find the words to respond and for the first time, Valeria feels a small tingle of guilt. Not enough to stop though, Valeria has never found it easy to back down. She's just so tired of your tears. Of always having to console you. You can barely function. You spill a drink and cry, if you don't succeed at something right away, you cry. The stray dogs on the street make you cry.
"Just get out of my face, okay? Go be somewhere else because I can't stand you right now." Valeria says dismissively. Turning her back to you.
She hears your hiccupping breathes disappear down the hall. She leans against the counter and puts her head in her hands. She doesn't like fighting with you, and she doesn't like making you cry, but it's practically inevitable with how volatile the both of you are. You always bring down the mood, Valeria can never truly relax around you because she's always expecting something to set you off. Sometimes she feels more like your therapist than your girlfriend.
As hours pass by, her anger cools into quiet sadness. Valeria is less upset by your crying then she is by the fact that she can't ever seem to help. She can't ever find the right words to comfort you. Valeria is frustrated with herself because she doesn't understand. Valeria has never cried over a spilled drink, or a single off-handed joke at her expense, or when she failed at something.
What she does understand, is that she loves you. Valeria sighs and stands from the couch. Heading to the bedroom. she gently opens the door, seeing you curled up in bed. Your side slowly rising and falling with each breath. She sits down next to you. Looking over your tear-stained face. Your eyes are closed, having worn yourself out with your crying. Valeria isn't good at apologies, but she reaches out a hand and pets your hair. Smoothing her fingers over the strands. You're not awake to hear the awkward, murmured apology falling from her lips. You cry over everything, but Valeria doesn't want to be among the reasons. She may not understand you, but she doesn't need to. She just needs to be there for you.

Since I didn’t end up posting today again cuz of the festival stuff going on longer than I thought, I’m going to post a longer formatted list of facts about my AU (just headcanons and shit for the characters!) I hope it appeases you all for today and I’ll get right back onto answering asks tomorrow if all goes well <3
HORROR
Horror is a simple person, with simple goals and a complex mind. He is quiet, but not shy, instead more cunning and intelligent than the other two are. He tends to stay out of Nightmare’s way more than anything, not going near him at all if he can help it, and it is this fact that has allowed him to become Nightmare’s favorite subordinate.
Horror likes reading and cooking, although he unfortunately is not at all good at the latter and is often banned from making meals. He likes doing repetitive things with his hands like knitting or sewing, because in his au there isn’t much to do except wait around and standing idly reminds him of the days he spent starving there.
He’s very careful with food, always eating a certain amount at a certain time. Nightmare doesn’t deny him food as a general rule, not because he cares but because Horror’s “loyalty” depends on it. He has a tendency to stash food away.
Horror does not hate Killer or Dust, but feels conflicted about them and suspicious of their motivations. He dislikes what they had to do in their AUs to survive, but he really doesn’t blame them for it. He’s an anxious guy by nature and is well used to betrayal so there is little trust in his heart for them
KILLER
My version of Killer is not without emotion, but rather empathy and most capabilities to experience positive emotion. One of his better qualities is his sense of humor, something that never left him even when he stopped being Classic Sans.
Killer likes cats, but does not have any. I believe at one point I got an ask about that, and I’m responding here that the cats existed and now do not. He doesn’t do anything with his free time, content to exist in quiet.
Killer’s soul is quite unstable and prone to flare ups of LV, which is why he doesn’t do nearly as much actual killing as Dust does. Killer is the fighter, Dust is the executor, and Horror steps in if they fuck up.
He has no feelings towards either Dust or Horror, but he has a strange desire in his SOUL to get closer with them.
DUST
Dust, not called Murder here, isn’t as serious as he’s usually portrayed by the fandom. He still loves practical jokes and puns, but doesn’t make them as often since he’s usually either on high alert or on the verge of passing out.
Dust likes small spaces, likes the fact that he can’t be attacked except for from one direction. He likes gardening and watching the others do things.
Dust is not prone to LV flare ups, despite his LV being quite high. The nature of his SOUL is not like Killer’s, and although being a murderer has changed him fundamentally, his physical well-being is unaffected.
Dust likes Horror and is unsure about Killer. Horror is kind of creepy but is canonically and obviously the most friendly of all of them as well as the most reasonable, and Killer is just. Unnerving.
ERROR
Error, referred to by all other than those close enough to know him by his actual name as the Destroyer, is a selfish and malignant being with goals unknown to anyone else. He destroys universes to feed his own code, to keep himself from corrupting beyond a point of saving. He’s seen by most of the multiverse as a mindless animal, set on destruction purely because it’s the only thing he knows. He is also primarily referred to within the multiverse as an “it” instead of a “he.”
Error, like the canon version, likes knitting and crocheting. He likes watching magical girl shows (his current favorite being Madoka Magica) and sleeping. The Destroyer doesn’t really care for destruction as a concept, just views it as an inevitable consequence of his existence.
Quick fun fact about Error! He’s almost completely blind, using his strings to “see.” Talking is possible but very difficult, as it takes a long time for him to finish a sentence and even longer for the other person to understand what he is saying.
Error doesn’t know the others well enough to judge, but he finds Nightmare interesting enough.
NIGHTMARE
Nightmare in my AU is not the Nightmare Dream knew, but They are not the canon version either. They are a sort of mix, who is selfish and doesn’t bother with anything if it doesn’t further Their goals. They are not actively trying to kill Dream as They are in the original.
Nightmare enjoys reading, eating sweets, and watching old shows like “I Love Lucy” for entertainment. They like the feeling of positivity, even if extended exposure to it could kill Them.
Nightmare is one of the only ones in the multiverse who doesn’t see Error as an animal! Love that for Them. They also see Themselves as a collective, so They use “We” “Us” and “Ourselves” to refer to Themselves. Their pronouns are also always capitalized!
Lastly, They find Killer annoying, Dust annoying, Horror less annoying, and Error intriguing.
Do with these facts what you will!

Fyre's convention adventures - Day 3 - Con O'Neill's Fanmeet
My final meet of the event was Con’s, immediately after the joyful chaos of his panel with Rhys.
Forewarning, this one contains some details of animal harm that happened to his pet before he got him.
He barely had sat down when someone asked if he’d been Whammed already and the look of feigned shock and “that’s none of your business!” set the tone of the thing :D He also told us in his best encouraging voice "You can be whammed as much as you like and don't let the right wing tell you otherwise!"
And also led into a discussion about whether it was Wham! or whether it was George Michael’s solo for Last Christmas and he had to sheepishly back down after a minute and admit, no, it was Wham, definitely Wham.
And of course, I had to bring up accent stuff and asked how it felt to actually be able to use his own accent, given how rarely northern English accents show up in media made elsewhere. He said it was a delight to be able to bring a bit of Wigan to the production.
He also talked about his drama teacher when he was a kid (who he did not name because she doesn’t deserve that respect) who – when he was sixteen – told him he would never be a successful actor because he had a weird voice. There was apparently a recent review for The Penguin series that someone said he had the coolest voice and he thought that was a lovely fuck you to that malignant boot.
He made a beautiful point that if you’re a teacher, especially a teacher in a creative field, you have a duty to be encouraging. Not talking BS about how everyone will be famous, he said, but realistic, supporting and encouraging the kids, because “we know it’s hard. We don’t need to be told it’s hard. We know, but when it’s good, it’s fucking amazing”. He also mentioned that it’s come so far from the days of RP everywhere.
I said it was definitely how I felt about seeing Buttons as well – having a working class Edinburgh accent, something that so many people have never heard. He was so happy to talk about how fantastic Ewen Bremner is as an actor (“even if I can’t understand anything he’s saying”) and that he saw him in the original run of the Trainspotting stage production in the 90s when Ewen played Renton, several years before the film happened.
It was surreal, he said, to have seen this incredible actor on stage and thirty years later, to be sharing the screen with him as Buttons (“and still not understanding a word he was saying!”) and that Ewen is genuinely one of the best actors he knows and that he’s also the best kind of people.
Someone asked about how they did the seagull stuff with Buttons and he told us about Jonathan, the gull on a string, but in the shots when they didn’t have the camera on Buttons, Ewen wore a stuffed seagull on his head to maintain the right eyelines. He had to admit it was quite challenging to keep his face straight when filming because when Ewen spoke, the plushie gull was jiggling on his head XD
And then, of course, he broke our hearts by telling us about how he and his husband adopted Cooper, their wee doggo.
Their previous dog had passed and they’d been adamant they weren’t going to adopt again because it fully broke their hearts when he died, but someone sent Con a picture of a dog in a shelter in Hungary, saying “does this remind you of anyone?” and it was the spitting image of their previous dog. They got a bit emotional about it and after a few days of trying to hold off, they called the shelter.
Cooper had already been adopted – in London – but it wasn’t working out, so they got in touch with the current owners and planned to go down and meet them. The first time Cooper saw them, he started barking excitedly and things only escalated :D
They took Cooper off for a walk to see how they got on, then got so distracted comparing selfies, that Cooper trotted off and they were so panicked about losing him that they rushed back to tell the current owners, only Cooper was there, patiently waiting on the step and ecstatically started barking when he saw them coming again.
So they go in and Con said he took one of the ladies aside to find out why the adoption hadn’t worked, because they needed to know why in case it was major behavioural things that needed work. She said that the dog was incapable of love or connecting with people. And Con, looking beyond her shoulder, could see his husband on the floor, dog on his chest, wagging his tail so enthusiastically his whole body was wagging, licking Con’s husband all over his face. Con be like MMHM. Sounds like a skills issue ;)
So they took him home but got a bit concerned when he had a tendency to bite and latch on if people touched his ears or ribs. Turned out Cooper had been horribly abused in Hungary: tattoos on his ear, broken ribs, cigarette burns and surgery without anaesthetic. They were worried it could be a problem because they have young grandkids.
Still, they decided do the trial adoption and see how he got on – usually, he said, the trial is for a week or two, then the dog returns to the original adopters and then the paperwork is done. They never saw the original adopters again.
And while they were still concerned about the biting, Con had to go away for work for a few weeks, so they got a dog-sitter in to look after Cooper. When Con returned, he said Cooper crawled along the floor of the hall on his belly to Con, head and ears down, then crawled all the way up under his shirt, curling up against his chest, trembling and whimpering. The dogsitter – who is some kind of pet psychologist as well – said it was because he’s been abandoned and dumped so many times, he didn’t know they were coming back.
Con: right that second, I decided fuck the grandkids, we’re keeping him.
And now, Cooper is so happy and safe and loved and safe :)
There was one other question but I can’t recall what it was now. It was such a lovely chat and he is genuinely such a lovely, warm, funny guy.

im obsessed with the cover of this magazine i found from 1999 which i think looks like the jedi order had some kind of a space tiger beat equivalent full of hot gossip about notable jedi lol

there are a couple good quotes in the article, like here's ewan about the jedi on screen:
"They frown a bit, and they're good fighters. They stand for everything that's good. Nobody frowns better than Liam and l in this movie because we have the Jedi frown. We're just kind of cool geezers."
i genuinely believe that the decision to have the jedi frown was enough to tank their reputation with a large number of fans who found that off-putting and cold. if the jedi had smiled more, i guarantee that the number of fans who say that they were responsible for their own fall would be much smaller.
like think about it!! literally just bc mace windu frowned at anakin in the phantom menace, people malign his character so much. they read it as anger or disdain, but he was just frowning bc the jedi frown. they are serious people!! yoda said it in episode 5: "a jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind."
there is a lot that can be unpacked about frowning, the american norms of smiling and facial performance of emotions, and the discomfort people feel when those norms are violated. as someone with flat affect, i FEEL THAT. i love that the jedi are serious and focused. they're space wizard monks, yk?

the other good quote is about how ewan intentionally tried to match alec guinness's voice:
"in the scene in his house where he shows Luke his laser sword for the first time, he's got such a specific voice — the Obi-Wan voice we know... kind of a fatherly voice."
ewan attempting to sound fatherly did things to those of us who are.. sensitive to such things 😅 it's like catnip for my brain personally lol
#obi-wan kenobi#light of my life#i love the potent late 90s energy of this magazine#i love the middle age sound guy being featured in a bubble like a boyband member#let alone boss nass lmao#my library#will get off ebay challenge: failed

A similarity between green, red, and black on the color pie that I really appreciate, and that people often overlook, is an implicit trust in the self.
We see this most clearly in red and black, which center upon the self and personal needs or desires. Red is all about pursuing freedom, allowing yourself to feel your emotions, and acting upon them. To red, the opinions of others are a hindrance at best and a life-stealing prison at worst. Black is often about holding onto and prioritizing yourself, even when the world tries to force you not to. In extreme cases, it believes you are the only person you can trust in a cutthroat world that tries to bring you down. These are the two colors most often maligned in a society that favors the collective status quo over the needs of the individual, and conformity over diversity.
Green is often placed in opposition to these two "rebellious" colors as a preserver of the status quo. Almost every description of green philosophy includes some variation of the word "tradition" and an assumption that the color innately opposes change and progress. At worst it's characterized as a staunch traditionalist with a stagnant worldview who lashes out against progress of any kind, and sure, that can certainly be one extreme manifestation of green's flaws but it's by no means universal or inherent to the color.
Far more fundamental to green's philosophy is the idea that strength, power, and capability come foremost from within. It is, I'd argue, the core of green's worldview. Others' wisdom may guide you to unlock these things, and you can't separate your own power from that of the community around you, but it's still ultimately your job to discover what you are capable of. The path to victory is never walked alone, but only you can truly know yourself, in the end; only you can give yourself the strength you need to succeed.
And there lays green's unlikely overlap with red and black--its faith in the ultimate power of the self. (There are certainly other similarities, but this is an important one.) It's less evident in green because the "self" aspect of red and black is so often defined in opposition to others, while green is far more community-minded, but an underlying fierce faith in self-knowledge remains.
White and blue believe that true direction comes from beyond the self, whether that's from established morals or empirical research. Meanwhile, green, red, and black all insist that you are enough already; you alone know yourself, your needs, and your capabilities best. Embrace it.

Patriarchy is not merely a system of thought, but a way of being. It’s not “culture.” It’s people. The tragedy of patriarchy, like capitalism but even more so, is that it is realized in relationships. Both sky and earth are silent. Only humans talk to each other. Only humans can create these systems via their beliefs, and these beliefs are shaped by their sense of self, and this sense of self is created by patriarchy, i.e. the people around them.
So both the loving father and abusive father can be patriarchs. Both the loving mother and abusive mother can be misogynists. Really, misogyny isn’t unique to men in our world. It can’t be. Every person borne under patriarchy has internalized the rhetoric of male supremacist ideology. The question of “Do you think your man (be they brother, father, partner, etc) is unique(ly different from other misogynist men)?” can be a loaded question for many women. Because we intuitively recognize that we all have a measure of misogyny in us, but that does not make us exempt from growth or doomed to (what we perceive as) great harm. Our mothers are misogynists, but we don’t fear them. Our sisters, brothers, fathers and friends are misogynists, but we’d never suspect them of physically harming us because of it. There seems to be, according to what we observe, benign and malignant forms of misogyny.
And so two kinds of feminists find themselves at a stalemate. One feminist sees patriarchy, misogyny as the unforgivable injustice it is. Whether it shows itself in words or fists, it is violent to the soul of every woman and girl. It reinforces her struggle. Her sense of inferiority. It alienates her from herself so early, so badly, that she begins self-destructing on their behalf. She knows she is justified in hating the misogynists around her, be it her father, male friends, herself, her mother or female friends. Or even just hating the misogyny in them. She honors her sense of justice and allows herself anger at all of them. And she is not wrong.
The second feminist sees within misogynists their simple humanity. Their limited resistance and will toward the ever-present coercive force of patriarchy. It leaves no one untouched. And all people are born into it against their will. Surely if it can be learned it can be unlearned? How can she hater her father/husband/boyfriend/friend for merely drinking from the first cup he was offered? He tries, like she does, to do good by all people. But no one is constantly vigilant over their own minds. And they have lived in privilege, and so, in their imaginations, there exist “benevolent prejudices” otherwise called “common sense.” Your father may laugh at jokes about women being sassy or emotional, and still defer to her in the home. Still be her friend. Still participate as both a husband and father. Still want to alleviate all her burdens. Still love her. The second feminist knows love and prejudice often co exist within the same individual. And she is not wrong.
What both must recognize is that patriarchy is people. All of us are misogynists fighting our way out or acquiescing. And that this conditioning does not manifest identically for men and women. The first feminist is right to fear and distrust men, to whom patriarchy awards unjustified power, and the second is justified in hoping for their growth and escape from the hierarchy, while recognizing that few will ever truly want to leave their cushy positions. Still, some have. Some will.
Both are right. Sometimes, both are one person.
Fundamentally, patriarchy is a broken relationship. Misogyny, a thing that poisons every relationship we have. Be it with our parents, our peers or ourselves. Navigating that is a lifetime ordeal. And it requires patience. We must be patient in this work. And we must be hopeful. And we must be angry and hurt. And we must struggle together. We must recognize all of it.
Because patriarchy is people, hence patriarchy is deeply human.
