A lady came into our store today and she had THIS:
TOAD PURSE. SO CUTE.
EVEN BETTER THEY SELL SO MANY ACCESSORIES FOR YOUR TOAD.
Look at this shit. Look at it.
There are so many accessories! In all sorts of colors!
There are some people in this world that GET IT and those who don’t.
Whoever is running this operation GETS IT. 🧠 ✨
Anyway here’s the link. I’m still trying to decide what color I want.

thinking about leviathan!charlie again. the stynes corner her and she Fucking Eats Them
#she’s a vegan leviathan. and by that I mean she only eats people sometimes.#was there a real human Charlie Bradbury? maybe. not important. now there is only leviathan!charlie#the Winchesters never bother to check her for leviathan-ness because she is so adorable and friendly and doesn’t eat anyone in front of them#and also pro-taking down dick because hey! she likes it here how it is! and he’s going to take that away from her!!!#they JUST got out of eternal eating prison in purgatory and he wants earth to be Purgatory 2!!! absolutely not!!!#anyway they don’t find out Charlie is a leviathan until like a year later when Kevin (paranoid and traumatized) does his borax super soaker#test on her. and to everyone’s surprise she start screaming in pain.#and then she has to convince them. with much difficulty. that she’s the same Charlie they’ve always known#that no. she did not eat the old Charlie. it’s just always been her and she’s been a leviathan and seriously did they not figure this out??#charlie bradbury#spn#leviathan!charlie

#youtube figured out I'm vegan and thus has just shown me animal gore i think I'm actually gonna be sick jesus fucking christ#i always wonder about the people in the meat & diary industry. i know there are good farms out there - my family had one#but the majority of industrialised animal agriculture is so traumatising for the people working in them#and that's almost never brought up by non-vegans#its always all about immigrants forced to pick vegetables. ok. bad. that's fucked up and needs to be dealt with#but you know what we also need to deal with? those being forced to work in the meat industry that shit leaves you scarred for life#i do think there are sustainable animal friendly ways to go about this i don't think most people could or should be vegan#i just think those who do comsume these products should have a bigger interest in animal and worker welfare#AND THE END OF CAPITALISM AND TORTURE OF ALL LIFE FORMS HUMAN AND ANIMAL#but they seem to not care? at all?#anyway thanks youtube for putting that shit right in front of my eyeballs I'm gonna have nightmares for the rest of my life

Feeling nostalgic because I'm cooking my great-grandma's caramel roll recipe and might have figured out a better way to make it gluten free. This dough can actually be rolled out! And it's not pizza dough this time!
#this is THE traditional dessert in my family#making it gluten free and also vegan has been a bit of a challenge#but it's been done. and this might be an even better way to do it#if it works#I'm not sure if we've done it vegan before actually? cant remember#the original recipe uses bread dough so this still isn't quite right. this is a boxed cinnamon roll mix that we've modified.#I've done it with bread dough before but I've never seen gluten free bread dough that can be rolled out#so we just kinda. layered spoonfuls of dough and filling.#which working surprisingly well honestly#but rolling it out is more fun#and the pizza dough was significantly more chewy than would be ideal#adventures in allergy-friendly baking#hylian rambles#food tw

gonna go to a vegetarian convention with a badge that says "ask me about leather"
#this is not a dig at vegetarians i am a vegetarian#i just think that vegan leather is such a scam and that legit leather is one of the most environmentally friendly materials#fuck even cotton uses like billions of gallons of water#leather lasts a stupid long time anyway#idk. obviously people don't have to wear leather#i just don't like how it's immediately brushed off by alot of vegetarians and vegans because it's an animal product#i also care alot about my clothes just. not falling apart.

I feel like legally I should be allowed to be mean as hell to people who make stupid comments on my memes on other media platforms.
#my partner shared a meme i made about food and Wine having a ramen option#that used fake meat but chicken broth#and one of his friends on his share of the meme commented that chicken broth was in some people's diets and they had a vegan option#MOTHER FUCKER I KNOW YOU'RE NOT TRYING TO SAY THAT JUST BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE CAN EAT IT THAT IT'S OKAY#Only people who eat meat can have it because the booths are not halal or kosher friendly at all#so even if someone who was kosher or halal wanted to try fake pork (i don't feel like that would be very popular) they still couldn't#also I've had that vegan option because it's just a rehashed thing from another part of the park and the broth is disgusting#and their tofu is soggy#i fucking can't stand Disney adults#trying to say it's still inclusive while not even knowing that the food booths in general are not inclusive#peak Orlando culture is telling someone else that they're wrong while you're clueless about the actual issues#actually peak Orlando culture is me being heated over shit I really shouldn't care about. I'm not going to get it lol

me 🤝 the person at the cafe counter 🤝 the person behind me = auditory processing disorder
#i was like 'im so sorry im taking so long to answer and not hearing things properly im autistic and i have auditory processing disorder''#and then they were like ''no way me too its a part of my adhd''#and the person behind me was like ''DUDE SAME''#does not surprise me cos this cafe is very disability friendly#its a vegan + gf cafe that recently opened up and is owned by a chronically ill person#im p sure all their employees also have diff disabilities (physical/non visible)#all their food can be adjusted to peoples dietary requirements and the place is spaced so wheelchair users can easily come through#(its been very popular with wheel chair users i feel like everytime i go past theres someone chilling beside the lowered counter adjacent#table sipping some tea/eating sweets)#theres also a play area for kids and a bookcase full of board games/paper/pens and pencils/books#very good atmosphere all around and its so nice for people to understand that im not trying to seem disinterested or obtuse#i just cant hear things well when theres background noises of buses and cars and clinking cups and plates and cutlery and people chatting#because my ears will focus on like. pouring water or a car door opening and not the person talking to mes voice#ALSO you get a free mini square of brownie with any hot drink

Edit*** for the record, the binary is out to get me, this was a "vegan leather is bad for the environment" post when I reblogged.
Please do not skin the Vulcan in order to find the dad.
Vulcan teen on Vulcan [tiktok] saying "I have just lost track of my father in the grocery store." The camera turns to show the viewers the grocery store in which almost every single older middle-aged man has a bowlcut and long robes. Camera turns back to show the teen's face which is expressionless and yet communicates all it needs to.
#pro-leather#leather is eco friendly#vegan leather is also just....terrible?#in looks and feel and wear and tear

So, I know it's been said before but there are two animal products that should be considered vegan acceptable, at least for people who are vegan because they genuinely try to avoid animal cruelty as opposed to the ones that are vegan to feel superior to us lowly carnivores.
Honey - not just because it is literally the one animal derived food the animal in question consents to giving us by its very nature but because more honey demand leads to more hives being set up leads to more pollination and that is a net positive for life in general.
Sheep's wool - I specify because I don't know if my main point here applies to other wool producing animals quite to the same extent as sheep but sheep wool doesn't stop growing and it can form mats that are practically felt. Not only does that create perfect breeding grounds for fly larva and other threats to the sheep's well being, it's also heavy and I definitely remember hearing that the poor things can die from hyperthermia because of it. Personally, I say not shearing sheep is animal cruelty as well.
#obviously looking into where your honey/wool comes from is always a good idea#if you can get it locally and the farmer is up to it#do that research in person#that is really the best way to make up your mind on this#my opinion#opinion on vegan views#also not calling either “vegan friendly” just saying that vegans should be less harsh on people who use either#maybe even open to using one or the other themself after looking deeper into it

I think we a group need to consider what the early “zero waste” movement did in the 2010s. You know. They’d keep “all” their waste in a glass jar, live in a nice apartment somewhere in LA where they had easy access to a refill store and didn’t stop to consider that just existing in the US creates waste they couldn’t see.
I remember watching a video in 9th grade (around 2013) about a chick who did that and even then I was like “that’s bullshit” and it really turned me off the zero waste movement.
The inherent classism of a lot of zero waste purists created a wall between me and them, where instead of them admitting their privilege, they simply said “anyone can do this”. Most people can’t. A zero waste refill store does not exist in my state! Sure, I could try online but this is 1. More expensive- something my dirt poor family could not do at the time and 2. Creates more carbon emissions!
This isn’t to say zero waste is bad- it’s simply a standard most Americans can’t reach. I think this is why I’m so drawn to solarpunk, because I think solarpunk recognizes the classism that is in a lot of eco-friendly products and movements (something I do think is being addressed- I’ve seen more affordable products now than I did in high school). Solarpunk includes diy- reusing packaging that many of us still have to buy because we can’t afford the eco-friendly version.
Idk I just had some thoughts
#Also I'm sorry the vegan one is bullshit just on the face of it#Being vegan (in the us) isn't more environmentally friendly when you consider food production#Like not to the amount everyone thinks it is#Bc all the stuff about livestock producing more carbon emissions than plants just goes off like the production#It doesn't look into transportation which is a huge emissions for both things#Also you know what else produces carbon emissions?#Rotting produce#Do you know what livestock eats? Produce waste that humans don't eat#Like soy skins and corn stalks#Do you really think agriculture companies are going to invest in ways to get rid of that waste with no emissions?#No if there was no livestock to eat it'd get thrown in a landfill and rot#Like all the stuff where ppl are like cows eat so much human food it's such a waste#I think it's like 80-90% of an average cows diet is things humans can't eat#Pigs are the ones eating a lot of stuff humans can eat but they also dispose of crop waste#Not to mention the way crops are being farmed is legitimately depleting the earth of viable soil and water#Yes animals drink water too but like why do I never see ppl talking about that part???#Almost the ENTIRETY of food production in the United States is unsustainable environmentally#You can't save the earth by going vegan#If it makes you feel better that's great but I wonder why the here's something you as an individual can do to help the environment!#Is the thing everyone wants to focus on rather than the#'We need to completely change almost all current structures to not burn the planet' idea that is just categorically what we need to do#It's almost like focusing on individual action and not group work is the whole problem with western views of the green movement#Anyway#Don't Even get me started on pesticide and fertilizer use and how bad that is for the environment#Like if you focus on carbon emissions yeah meat is worse than plants for the environment#But like that's not the only factor
