TMI TUESDAY:
[How/where] did you meet your partner? He sounds like a wonderful person!
[genuine]
Tumblr media
He is truly an amazing man, and I always wanted him to find the happiness that he so deserved. Just never figured I'd factor into that someday haha! Building a relationship off of a real friendship is not something I've ever done, but it's made it so easy tbh? We already had this foundation of trust, and a deep understanding of what each other had gone through and was actively looking for. I'm so excited for the future with him by my side 💕

I cannot imagine being a Damian stan right now. You've got both Zdarsky's bullshit (where he clearly doesn't give a shit about your boy) and The Boy Wonder (where Juni Ba clearly gives so many shits about your boy) coming out on the same day. The whiplash must be insane. I hope y'all get some nice warm soup for your efforts jfc
#damian wayne#damian al ghul#damian al ghul wayne#batman#batfamily#for all of the issues that come with having Steph as your fave having too much wild shit happening at once is never one of them#btw I quite like The Boy Wonder Issue 1. wow shocker an artist and writer who I have liked everything they've ever done#has once again written something that I am enjoying with art that makes me want to be part of its world.#it's almost like Juni Ba is really freaking talented or something#like I have some problems with it but it seems like many of those are part of the point. Damian is learning that his siblings are more#three-dimensional than he realized and that is part of this 'coming of age' story merged with fairytale#so I can't be mad at the oversimplistic defining of Dick and Jason and Tim until the conclusion of the series. that might be the point.#I hope that the series will address Steph as a Robin but if not then frankly it's not an issue unique to this series.#I'll be annoyed and disappointed but ultimately roll with it like I am with Babsgirl being here. There's too much good stuff here to get#hung up on shit that seems to be almost an editorial mandate at this point. at least that's where I'm at.#I am also very sorry that Chip Zdarsky is massacring your boy. he has 'X (Tim for him) is the best Robin so everyone else must suck' diseas#where a writer really likes one specific Robin and in trying to uplift them demeans all of the other Robins. instead of like...just writing#for that one character only or alternatively not demeaning the other characters in order to make his blorbo look good#it's wild because I actually think his writing for Tim is pretty solid. but he's not writing a Tim series. he's writing a Batman series.#and if you are going to write a Batman series and include other Batfamily members you need to actually write them well.#instead of assigning them like 2 personality traits while Tim gets to be a whole character#I accept that behavior in fanfic where I have lesser standards because it's fucking free. not a comic run that wants me to pay#tens of dollars in order to understand what the fuck is going on. he's been going for a while now it's gotta be a lot of money.#I can buy Steelworks with that money. I can see John Henry and Natasha Irons in a trade. Fuck you Chip.#it's why it takes such a special person to write a good ensemble story/a good Batfamily story. you have to be good at writing a LOT#of different characters. which I don't think most people are. I sure as hell am not. I can write maybe 3 at a time confidently well.#and you also have to give all of them at least SOME love or else people will be upset that you aren't focusing on their fave#and also the writing as a whole will suffer. Chip Zdarsky is a pretty good Tim writer. I'd maybe read a Tim solo written by him.#I would not read a story focusing on multiple characters that I like written by Chip Zdarsky. because every character who isn't Tim#is at least a bit weak/inconsistent/out of character INCLUDING FUCKING BATMAN. THE NO. 1 GUY MOST ARE HERE FOR

There's a lot of Voy Crew & DS9 Crew crossovers for good reason but what about Voy Crew meets the TNG Crew so they can confuse and alarm them at every turn? Most Normal Crew Ever vs Most Fucked Up Weirdos Ever - let's go!

while I'm at it, is larian really inconsistent about elf aging or is it just me?
astarion was turned before 40 and has wrinkles, jaheira is a *half-elf* who is over a hundred and looks 10, maybe 15 years older? ok she's not the best example because she's meddling with anti-aging magic and druids in dnd get a get out of aging free card at higher levels but I am Confuse

Hyrule knew a lot about magic. It's hard not to learn about something you can sense all around you. Every link had their own magical signatures. Time and Legend had their magical artifacts, Twilight reeked of magic that was dark but not necessarily evil, and Wind left wisps of magic that undoubtedly were left by something on his adventures according to his stories.
However, Wild was different. Wild's magical imprint didn't come from artifacts or other forces, it seem to come from him and him alone. It didn't feel normal either. It dissipated and clung and passed through anything he touched.
If Hyrule didn't know better, he would of thought that Wild was some sort of half diety or catalyst. It was just so strong that it scared him at first. Most things with that much magic usually are not good news. He's glad he stuck around.
The longer Hyrule was around Wild, the more he noticed how his magic behaved. Wilds magic was just as curious as he was. It dispersed when Wild attuned to his surroundings and focused when he did. It swam amongst the members of their group when they relaxed by the fire. It all clicked when he got to see how the shrines in Wild's world worked.
The sheika technology, with their uncanny representation of the land and ability to sense where places were, felt much like Wild's magic, but it was much more formal and restrained.
It wasn't until then that Hyrule put his observations and Wild's story of resurrection together. It made a lot of sense then, but brought little relief.

just read a review of the lego movie from 2014 and it is genuinely a horrible piece of literature and through perusing the comments underneath the review, I have gained an intense dislike of the reviewer. it's not even that I liked the lego movie and he didn't it's just that a lot of the stuff he says is factually incorrect, really stupid-sounding, or he doesn't provide any real reason, and in the comments, he reacts to even the friendliest and politest constructive criticism as if it's a personal attack on him.
#listen I DON'T CARE THAT YOU DIDN'T LIKE THE MOVIE#I mean I'm slightly saddened because I did like it#but he straight-up says it's fully actual physical stop-motion animation at the beginning (factually incorrect)#then later says you won't appreciate the movie unless you like lego a lot and know all about it#specifically saying 'if you can tell the Lego Wild West town from its pirate ship from its spaceman set' (direct quote)#like um idk bro... are you saying you can't???#also this does insinuate that there is one specific set for each of these#which is also factually incorrect but I'm not really mad about that#and then in the comments he kept trying to defend himself by saying stuff about how the movie has a 90%ish rating on rotten tomatoes#and therefore 10% of people didn't like the movie#which is actually. an insane oversimplification of statistics. that's like saying if there are 10 children with an average of 4.5 apples#per child and each child can have a maximum of 5 apples#then 9 of the children must have 5 apples and the other 1 must have none#the 90% in fact includes a large number of people who rated it at 3.5-4.5 stars which is means a lot of them really actually did like it#and just didn't think it was the best movie ever ever in existence or maybe they just had some small qualm with it#the final straw was that someone left a very nice very kindly written piece of constructive criticism asking if maybe the reviewer would#consider saying what about the humor he didn't like (or what kind of humor it was) next time so that the viewer would know whether they#would like it or not as well and I read this and thought 'surely he will respond courteously to at least this one' and he said.#basically 'it's not that the kind of humor didn't suit my tastes. it just wasn't funny'#WHAT THE FREAK#WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT#ALL THIS GOING ON AND ON ABOUT WRITING A NEGATIVE REVIEW BECAUSE IT'S YOUR ACTUAL OPINION AND NOT BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO BE CONTRARY#BUT I THINK YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT AN OPINION IS??????#it's MY opinion that it was funny#it's YOUR opinion that it wasn't#you don't get to arbitrarily say that the only reason you disliked the humor was because it was 'bad'#even ethics aren't this black and white#there was another thread where a commenter pointed out that the reviewer seemed to assume there was such a thing as a universal definition#of a good movie and he repeatedly refused to explain himself. like in an 'are you stupid. this isn't worth my time' way#but I won't get into that

there's something very entertaining about seeing 'i block on sight when they have a DNI' and they don't seem to realize that it's kinda ironic cause... well... it's almost like there's a common internet shorthand for a type of person with a way of behaving or thinking that you don't want to interact with but I can't quite remember what it is xD

bro if u think fantasizing about taking advantage of/hurting vunerable people (minors for example) doesnt make u a potentially dangerous person then u need help. and this doesnt apply to people whose invasive/intrusive thoughts involve those things, this applies to people who call it their ""kink."" those people are dangerous. not "omg i cant stand to breathe the same air as them" dangerous because thats silly? theyre just fucked up people who no one wants to be associated with. thats it. lol.
Nah, don't pretend that isn't the attitude all you people have. :) I've seen it WAY too many times.
Here's a tame example that DOESN'T include death threats, suicide baiting, telling people they deserved their abuse, etc. But you're welcome to browse my ever-growing catalogue of totally "normal" behaviors that people justify because of rhetoric EXACTLY like yours.
I've already written extensively about the reasons you're fucking wrong, so feel free to read those if you're so convinced that I'm dangerous for fantasizing about BEING THE ONE taken advantage of as a green cartoon creature. (I personally like this post of mine, as well as this one. Or, again, you can skip over me and just go research it yourself.)
Educate yourself before you come over here and tout as fact your headcanons about what you think other people have in their hearts. <3

sysmeds really will be like 'how DARE you claim to have anything even resembling my extremely stigmatised mental health condition without being diagnosed by a doctor!.... i have decided as also a non-doctor that you must be suffering from this other extremely stigmatised mental health symptom (delusions) instead' and do it with a completely straight face and no hint of their own hypocrisy
like honeybunch if i cannot self-report having consistent and persistent headmates (the earliest of which is now close to having been around for 2 whole decades) you sure as fuck cannot arm-chair diagnose me with literal psychosis - or even as far as one of the actual disorders that features psychosis like BPD or schizophrenia - and still claim to be the moral authority here
