Holy Sunday Bible scriptures for your fear ☺️
It's so nice to be reassured that there's nothing to fear when Christ is near, and God is watching over you, especially at this time of the year. When the darkness is most apprehensive.

"YES, GOD CAN STILL USE YOU!"
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above – spiritually transformed, renewed, READY TO BE USED] for good words, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” (AMP) When David first arrived at…

Worst Trade Ever
We are a sports dominated culture like no culture before us. I include myself. A day isn’t complete for me in the Spring, Summer or Fall without an update on how the Phillies did. Ditto for the Fall and Winter in relation to the Philadelphia Eagles. Both those major sports sometime have so-called “Blockbuster Trades.” So maybe this metaphor makes sense to many. Here’s my version of the worst…

All Things New
“Remember not the former things,     nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing;     now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness     and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 In the aftermath of hurricane Ian our paradise was a mass of devastation, and we were overwhelmed by it all. It almost seemed like a hedge of…

Note
What’s a good reason to not take my own life? I’ve been feeling this way for years. Been to multiple treatment programs. Seen by several different therapists. Anti-depressants. I frequently go outdoors to exercise. Try to fill up my life with being optimistic about my (admittedly nice) job, hobbies, travel, and volunteering. And yet I’m still no better than I was 5 years ago and I have no hope about a happy future. “Your family will miss you.” Ok, and? I think it’s selfish to tell people in pain to continue living like that because some people might temporarily feel sad. They’ll eventually move on. My friends too, especially the ones who are happily married “to their best friends” and having babies and are so happy that they forget I exist.
Hey anon I hope I am not too late! I am just getting out of a hurricane and was without internet access for several days so i apologize for the delay.
But there are so many reasons not to take your own life. In fact, I can’t think of a single reason why you should.
I know it’s tough right now and trust me, I know that depression makes it all feel pointless and worthless and can plague you for years but even though if feels like forever I promise you these feelings and this depression and your circumstances are TEMPORARY. And it would be a tragedy for you to take your life over temporary circumstances and not see what is possible on the other side.
Yes your family and friends will miss you but you should stay because your life has purpose and meaning! Therapy and anti-depressants are good and I’m glad you’ve been trying those things because that means you don’t actually want to die - you just want the pain to stop. And that’s completely understandable and also manageable!
It’s great that you’ve been continuing to exercise and do volunteer work because those things can definitely impact your mood, but they aren’t the source of true joy, peace and happiness. Now I’m a Christian so I’m sure it won’t surprise you for me to say this, but what you are looking for and what you need can only come from God. I urge you to put your faith and trust in him and give him your burdens.
The devil has a hold on you right now, don’t let him win!
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” - John 10:10
“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” - psalm 55:22
“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” - psalm 34:18-19
But now that I’ve gone on my spiel, here are some reasons I think it’s good to keep living. Not all my original thoughts but ones i agree with.
1. You matter
2. No one else is you.
3. Your younger self
4. Your next favorite song.
5. Warm blankets.
6. Thunderstorms

22. Recovery.
23. Falling in love.
24. Rain.
25. Petting puppies and kittens.
26. Drinking water.

43. Hearing your favorite song come on the radio.
44. Learning to make a new recipe.
45. Your life is precious.
46. You are enough.
47. Random acts of kindness.
48. God looked at the world and thought it needed you.
49. Your story could save someone else.
50. Looking back on this time in 10 years and realizing you made it.
There’s an endless amount of reasons to stay alive and I hope some of them resonate with you.
But if you are desperate please reach out to the suicide prevention hotline at 988. If you are outside the US then you can find the number for your location here.

(Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore "Great is the Lord, who delights in the welfare of his servant!" Psalms 35:27 ESV)
(For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on your throne, giving righteous judgement. Psalms 9:4 ESV)
123. My eyes fail looking for your salvation looking for your righteous promise. (Like a swallow or a crane, I chirp; I moan on like dove. My eyes are weary with looking upward. O Lord, I am oppressed; be mt pledge of safety! Isaiah 38:14 ESV)

As You Judge, So Shall You Be Judged
1 “Stop judging, that you may not be judged. 2 For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. 3 Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye? 5 You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.
Pearls Before Swine
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.
The Answer to Prayers
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread, 10 or a snake when he asks for a fish? 11 If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.
The Golden Rule
12 “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.
The Narrow Gate
13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. 14 How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
False Prophets
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So by their fruits you will know them.
The True Disciple
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ 23 Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.’
The Two Foundations
24 “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. 26 And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”
28 When Jesus finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, 29 for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes. — Matthew 7 | New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE) New American Bible, Revised Edition © 2010, 1991, 1986, 1970 Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, Inc. Judge Not, That You May Judge Well
Key Points in Matthew 7
1. Do Not Judge 7. Ask, Seek, Knock 13. Enter through the Narrow Gate 15. A Tree and Its Fruit 24. The Wise and the Foolish Builders 28. Jesus ends his sermon, and the people are astonished.

THOUGHTS:
======================
It's easy to be rude and to treat others wrongly; it's easy to do wrong to others and not think about how this could affect someone else. I had a couple of times where people were cruel to me, and I had others to tell me I would’ve done this or I would’ve done that, but to be honest, I could’ve have , but what good would it be to treat someone the way they treated you.
This was one of the commandments Jesus left us with, and a lot of us don’t do this; we treat others rudely if they treat us rudely; we say ugly things because someone else says ugly things, but this isn’t the way we as believers should be at any time. Sure, we want to treat others ugly, and sure, we want to do things because people are cruel to us, but this is not how we are supposed to handle anything.
Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
This is said to us again: we must do unto others the way we want them to do to us, we have to stop thinking about ourselves and think about how Jesus would do this it used to be some bracelets that said W.W.J.D  and it said what would Jesus do and I still wear that bracelet today, and when I go to do something wrong I immediately think, and I look down at the bracelet, and I think what would Jesus do, what would he say how would he react and a lot of us don’t take into account those words we just react and instead thinking.
Leviticus 19:18 18 “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
Bitterness can cause us to seek revenge, and at the time, revenge seems reasonable; it seems perfect to be honest to get at people who are cruel to us, but the bible states not to do that but to love our neighbors as we love ourselves and not to seek revenge, a lot of people live their life seeking revenge to harm someone are to get even steven and it’s not right to do this are to seek revenge, I can remember being so focused on seeking revenge on people that I didn’t see how bitter and cold it made me because I was too busy focused on getting what I thought was payback and that’s not how I want someone to treat me I want people to treat me with love. Still, I must give love to receive it.
1 Timothy 1:15 The aim of our charge is love those issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
What should be our aim? Is it to love? It should come from a pure heart and a good conscience; that should be our aim for the day I can say that it is tough to show love when other people don’t show it; it is hard to love someone when people are so cruel sometimes for no reason, but the most important thing we must remember is that this is the golden rule this is one commandment Jesus told us about before he left.
Matthew 7:7: “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you
All this week, we have been studying from the book of Matthew chapter 7. We started in verse 7, and we talked about waiting and knocking; sometimes we must ask Jesus and THEN wait for HIS TIME, and his time doesn’t look like ours; they say God doesn’t have a watch, and he doesn’t his time doesn’t look like ours ,a lot of times we can do everything we feel is right but then we don’t get what we ask. We asked why he hadn’t given it to me. It doesn’t matter what we do; it matters what he wants of us and what he wants us to do and have; sometimes, we forget that his ways aren’t our ways, and his thoughts aren’t our thoughts; we must be careful comparing ourselves to God and comparing our time with his.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works so that no one can boast.10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared us to do.
We talked about change, and sometimes it's hard to change because we try to do it in our strength and not in God, and we lose focus on the importance of change and we don’t see why we need to change; we just see that he's asking us to change and for what reason but as we change our hearts and what we see others as and how we view situations changes, I can say as I grew in God I realize that my life isn’t my own and to truly change I can't boast about. Still, all I can do is trust the process, and many of us don’t trust what God is doing in this season of our lives.
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are vicious wolves.
True change is when we start using discernment for difficult situations and not just our thoughts or our emotions; a lot of people use their emotions to figure out what's happening in their lives, but we must start using discernment on the teachers we allow to teach us , and the pastors we allow to pastor our lives the lord wants us to talk to him about things that being said to us and done to us a lot of time we don’t allow him to because we whether have a false teacher to let us think what we are doing is right. We aren’t 2 Timothy 4:3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.
This is what most people want; they want their itchy ears to be scratched, they want people who will tell them their secret sin is okay to have, they want someone to tell them it's okay to read their bible sometime and to pray when they are feeling good. They want people to tell them what they are feeling is right, and I’m here to tell you that God word will tell you what you are doing is wrong; it will pierce your very soul, but if we block the word of God and we don’t read the word of God, we will always think what we are doing is right, and it isn’t.
*** Today, we looked over our week and what we studied. There is so much God has blessed us with to learn, and sometimes it's so much to learn; some things we don’t grasp because it's not our season, but our season could be learning something different. We must always ask God to teach us what he wants us to learn for that day or season. What is the lord telling you in this season? What is the lord trying to get you to see maybe to use more discernment, maybe to trust him more, maybe to let go of the sins you think are okay, but whatever it is, we must trust in God; a lot of us are not trusting because we are scared of what the lord is speaking to us, we can't allow what our flesh wants to do to stop us from connecting with God we can't allow our flesh to continue to rule over our lives because if we continue to live in this way we will always fall short of the glory of God.
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.
Certain people will do certain things to lead us astray; we can't allow people to lead us away from what God has in instore for us; a lot of us allow this world to lead us away because it's easier than following God the word never said it would be easy it never said life is going to get easier as we go through it , it says it will be tough. Still, it's easier when we do it in his strength; we can do everything through Christ who strengthens us. If you are struggling, tell God today so he can help you with what you have going on and help you see him through it all.

Leviathan is the king over all the Children of pride
Job 41:34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.
Leviathan
Sea Creature
Psalm 104:26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.104:27 These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
It was given to the people inhabiting the wilderness for meat
Psalm 74:14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
In Isaiah 27 the leviathan is used to describe Israel's enemies
Isaiah 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.27:2 In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine.27:3 I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.27:4 Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.27:5 Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.27:6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: (Israel shall blossom and bud), and fill the face of the world with fruit.27:7( Hath he smitten him), (as he smote those that smote him)? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him?
God uses the leviathan to show Job how powerless he is against the leviathan
Job 41:1 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?41:2 Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?41:3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?41:4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?41:5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?41:6 Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?41:7 Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?41:8 Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.41:9 Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?41:10 None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?41:11 Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.41:12 I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.41:13 Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?41:14 Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.41:15 His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.41:16 One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.41:17 They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.41:18 By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.41:19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.41:20 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.41:21 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.41:22 In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.41:23 The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.41:24 His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.41:25 When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.41:26 The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.41:27 He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.41:28 The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.41:29 Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.41:30 Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.41:31 He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.41:32 He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.41:33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.41:34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
The first Beatitude reminds us of one of the strongest themes of Scripture: God's love for the poor, the weak, and the vulnerable. We see this in the Old Covenant, in which God instructs the people of Israel to care for the poor and the alien in their midst. He tells the Israelites not to harvest every speck of grain in their fields, but to leave some for the poor and the stranger who have no food of their own (Lev 19:9-10). He also commands them to set aside every fiftieth year as a Jubilee. In that year, property that was bought or sold must be returned to its original owners (Lev 25:8-28).
Through the prophets God rebukes those who violate the spirit of these commands: "Therefore because you trample upon the poor and take from him exactions of wheat, you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine. For I know how many are your transgressions, and how great are your sins-you who afflict the righteous, who take a bribe, and turn aside the needy in the gate" (Amos 5:11-12).
Later Jesus says that, in fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy, he is the one on whom the Spirit of the Lord rests, the one whom the Lord has anointed to preach good news to the poor (Lk 4:16-21).(19) In our own time we tend to distinguish between spiritual and material poverty. But in the Bible, these concepts are tightly linked. The rich have wealth, but they become overly proud and ignore or oppress others. They use their money to buy influence and exploit the needy. They forget their dependence on God. The poor man, by contrast, is always reminded of his dependence. He will be humble and trust in the Lord.(20)”
-Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, Strangers in a Strange Land: Living the Catholic Faith in a Post-Christian World
(19) A common idea in Jesus’ time and in the Old Testament was that in giving to the poor, the rich were lending to God. At the Day of Judgement, they would be repaid when the poor would proclaim their righteousness before God. For more on this idea, see Gary Anderson, Charity: The Place of the Poor in the Biblical Tradition (New Haven, CT: Yale University Press, 2013)
(20) Pinckaers, Pursuit of Happiness, 40-41.
