Julie Pinson bids Eve a fond farewell
Death Becomes Her
(Soap's InDepth: Apr. 30, 2002)
Perhaps the only person more stunned than fans to find out who would be ascending the stairway to heaven at the end of PORT CHARLES' recently-concluded book, Secrets, was the seat filler herself--Julie Pinson (Eve).
"I found out right about the time when Ian and Eve were havinga lot of problems," the original cast member reveals, admitting that the plot twist was completely unexpected. "Honestly, I hadn't even thought about it! I didn't really feel that I was all that involved in the angel storyline."
A Moment of Silence
Althought Eve's friends and family still are struggling to deal with her untimely death, Pinson has had time to adjust, if not go through a public mourning. "We filmed my death on February 11, but it had to be kept secret," the actress says. "Of course, the whole cast and crew knew, so how are you going to keep it a secret? But that was the whole point of this story."
So hush-hush was Eve's demise that her portrayer never really suspected that her alter ego was bound for the great hereafter. "Normally you don't kill off your heroine," she explains. "You kill someone else. You kill the bad guy."
Pinson hopes to follow fellow PC alum Lisa Ann Hadley (ex-Julie) into primetime.
Moving on
Before Eve's body had time to grow cold, Pinson was hot on the trail of her next gig. "It's weird, because I still have to wake up at 5 a.m. every day. I've still got to get my butt in gear and find another job, because my first thought when I got the news was, 'Oh crap, I just bought a house!"
"I need a vacation," she adds, "but that's the last thing on my mind right now!"
Instead, she's pounding the pavement. "I'm doing pilot season and autidioning for films, which is exciting for me. I've never really done pilot season before. It's eye-opening, but nice to be getting my name out there."
Crossing Over
Although Pinson is a big fan of the East Coast ("I love New York!"), she'd just as soon not have to give up her lovely, newly-purchased home. "Who knows what may happen in the future, but for right now, I'd like to stay in L.A.," says the born-and-bred California girl. "I've never had to deal with snow!"
But, should the bright lights of the Big Apple beckon her, she will answer the call. "There are a lot of things to love about New York," she admits. "the shopping... and being able to walk everywhere. Nobody walks in L.A.!"
Pinson and Jay Pickett (Frank), with Ion Overman (ex-Gabriela), were among PC's few remaining original cast members.
Gone, But Not Forgotten
Meanwhile, though her run as Eve may have come to an abrupt end, that doesn't mean that Pinson wouldn't welcome another chance to strut her stuff in daytime. "I love soaps," she says. "It's a wonderful way to have a life and stay in one place, as opposed to being a vagabond, which can happen when you're making films. You have a job to go to every day, doing what you love."
So, as Pinson prepares for the future, she offers a few parting thoughts to her PC followers. "I really want to thank the fans for being so supportive over the years. We all grew up together, and they watched me go through my good times and my bad tims, and stuck by me."
Considering the fact that angels and vampires have made regular appearances in Port Charles, could Eve someday join the undead parade? "Hey, you never know," Pinson says with a laugh, "Never say never!"

"The Walking Dead" (1995) is an obscure war film written and directed by Preston A. Whitmore II. This movie has a great cast, and each character tells their personal story of their life before serving in the Vietnam War. While the film takes place during the war, much of it is flashbacks, which is a great idea considering many soldiers in real life had stories before the war. However, this movie remains elusive compared to other 90s films, but it's worth watching, especially if you have family members who are veterans.
Director: Preston A. Whitmore II Writer: Preston A. Whitmore II
Starring Allen Payne, Eddie Griffin, Joe Morton, Vonte Sweet, Roger Floyd, Ion Overman, Bernie Mac, Jean-Claude La Marre, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Lena Sang, Kyley Jackman, Doil Williams
Storyline In Vietnam, a squad of four African-American soldiers is deployed on a hazardous mission to rescue POWs from a remote jungle temple. Sgt. Barkley (Joe Morton) leads a diverse group featuring comprising young soldier Joe Brooks (Vonte Sweet), rebellious stoner Hoover Branche (Eddie Griffin), and bookish ideologue Cole Evans (Allen Payne). They all recount their personal experiences about how they ended up joining the Marine Corps.
Unfortunately, this film is challenging to find on most streaming services

Questioning
When you’re in that stage of questioning your sexuality where you’re wondering if your friends would say wishing Candice Jewell and Bette were a couple in the reboot, so you can see if all their sexual tension could sustain a relationship, is “straight” or “straight-adjacent”
Like straights appreciate sexual chemistry too, right?

Christmas with the Andersons (2016)
This is another one that I expected to be worse than it was. That being said, I wouldn’t call it good. Just not bad.
Michael Anderson (George Stults) and his wife Caroline (Christy Carlson Romano) came from nothing in Georgia with their twins Julia (Savannah Judy) and Brendan (Luke Judy). But now, Michael is a successful partner at a firm in LA with his dad (Barry Livingston). But the money has made Michael kind of an idiot. Nobody seems to like him, including his closest friend and colleague, Ray (Dale Godboldo). Ray’s wife Pattie (Ion Overman) seems to be frenemies with Caroline, but it’s weird. I don’t think I understand frenemies because they are also legitimately each other’s closest friend. There’s also Ashton (Kannon Kurowski), one of Brendan’s friends that seems to just live there no matter how many times they tell him to go home, which to me feels like a callback to Beans on Even Stevens- the show where Christy Carlson Romano got her start. My personal favorite character in this movie is Michael’s zany Aunt Katie (Julie Brown) because they may not want her there, but she is the voice of reason and the true hero of this film.
The conflict in this occurs when Michael loses his job because his dad thinks that he doesn’t have the right attitude for the image the firm wants. Basically, Michael is greedy and using the law to help the bad guys get away with stuff because it means that he gets more money. Caroline has her own store selling scented soaps, lotions, etc., and it’s not making any money. I kind of expected their financial struggles to be more pronounced, but they did kind of discuss it. I’m sure the mortgage on their house isn’t cheap. But it’s a little anticlimactic.
This was the kind of movie you would put on to have as background noise or because it’s just in tv and easier than finding something else because you’re not really watching. Michael’s character arc is super weird and not believable. Caroline seems smart but doesn’t act like it consistently. The kids seem bratty but then they’re fine with not having a Christmas tree. It’s all very weird. Overall, I think 2 stars for this one.

Middle-of-the-road episode.
One storyline is good, the other falls flat.
Holly Robinson Peete is great as Clea and this episode gives her lots to work with. She has great chemistry with Rick Fox and it’s fun watching those two characters together. They are a lovely couple and Clea’s reactions to his gorgeous flatmate are funny. Perfect sitcom fare.
The rest of the episode falls flat, but the Clea stuff is good.

GET-AWAY GIRLS
After several weeks of a hectic work schedule, it was with much anticipation that Julie PInson (Eve) headed off to Cancun, Mexico, with gal pals Ion Overman (Gabriella) and Opal Anchel, (ex-Arianna). "It was the best vacation I've ever had!" Pinson enthuses. The tight knit threesome checked into the Club Med resort and embarked on a week of rest and relaxation. "I did nothing all day long, which was great because I didn’t have to," Pinson notes with relief. "So many times you go on vacation with people and they're like,'Let's go do this or go see that.' But this was a whole week of laying on the beach or by the pool, then sleeping and partying all night long." But for the three beautiful ladies, who didn’t tell anyone they were American actresses, the best part of the trip was meeting so many new people.
"In the evenings we'd do dinner and dancing and participate in the shows--I'm very social, so it was great!" Pinson enthuses, adding that they were even invited to the home of a very "cute" Italian man.
