Post-Cyclone Penny goes over to Ricky's for one reason when she's especially sad: to lay on his bed while his cats pile on top of her.

In the warehouse, Jane still goes by Jane, but Ricky will occasionally throw in the name Savannah as a grounding name if she's a little out of sorts. Think a little bit of whenever your self-doubting in front of a beloved person. They might say your full name to get your attention before cheering you up. Same concept.

Ricky jokingly pressed a kiss to the back of Jane's hand once. She practically reset to factory settings. Now sometimes he will just randomly catch her hand and press a kiss to the back of it for no reason.

Sometimes they will just sit and talk about life... or how they wanted life to be/what they imagined it to be. Sometimes it ends with Ricky writing more Zolar lore because Jane gave him an idea.

Jane treats Dame Judi Dench and Lady Marzipan with the same gentleness she gives her doll.

Whenever she finds a random sticker, she gives it to Ricky. This goes for Jane and Post-Cyclone Penny. Penny also taught him how to make stickers.

-->ANYWAY – while poor Victor and Alice were very much not getting any of the free food and drink they had been promised by the holiday, Smiler had gotten their stall set up right on the main drag in front of the archway into the park, stocked it up with the apple pie, the pumpkin spice waffles, the blueberry bagels, the cheesy bread, and the pumpkin spice milk, and started hawking their wares! As per usual, it took a little bit for the customers to appear (and I guess on a day where the local restaurants are all offering free food and drinks, it WOULD be harder to find people willing to PAY for snacks), but after a little while, two lovely ladies named Janae and Judy rocked up, along with a guy named Lucha. Smiler greeted and insta-friended them, as is their way, and started handing out sales pitches –

And Janae was quickly convinced and gave Smiler their first sale of the day, grabbing a bottle of pumpkin spice milk to down! And once she got the ball rolling, all the other Sims in the area proved reasonably eager to buy – Savannah Price showed up soon after for some bagels, while Mei Prescott and a dude named Tai Lum both got a slice of apple pie. :) Janae then came back for some more milk, while a lady named Ava tried the cheesy bread and a dude named Anjelo gave the waffles a whirl. Molly Prescott appeared on the scene to try the bagels (maybe she saw her mom over there earlier?), while Janae returned AGAIN to sample the pie and some guy whose name I didn’t get got some waffles. All throughout, Smiler just kept handing out the food, slinging sales pitches, and making friends, and by the time the sale wrapped up around 6:30 PM, they had sold all four bottles of pumpkin spice milk (THREE of them to Janae, who I guess either was really thirsty or REALLY loves pumpkin spice drinks), two plates of bagels, three servings of pie, one plate of cheesy bread, and two servings of waffles, for a total profit of $319! :D Nice – they were MADE to sell stuff at the food stand, I swear.

-->But what was happening with the others while Smiler got their salesperson on? Well, Victor and Alice ended up having a nice meal together in the end, despite their previous troubles, with Victor getting flirty with Alice over their respective pasta dishes, and Alice happily reciprocating. :D They ended their lunch together on a kiss and a story, then Victor flew back to the library to use the toilet while Alice hung out playing on her phone. I had her head back to the park to keep her in sight and maybe see if she could do any scavenging –

And then, to my surprise and delight, found that there was a metal stone and a crystal stone right nearby to where I’d sent her! I promptly had her go and collect those – the metal stone gave her some silver (and a couple of robot salvage parts, for – some reason), while the crystal stone gave her an emerald. :) She then proceeded to play Blicblock on her phone, which I let her do for a while, then – noticing that she was Energized from the new moon – sent her on a little jog to get in a bit of exercise. Because that’s important, everyone!

Marm, meanwhile, was sufficiently charged enough that I felt I could wake him up and get him to read some books while they were at the library, with Victor joining him once he was out of the bathroom. Marm thus submerged himself in the tale of “Orbital Pudding” while Victor read a book of his own choosing for a bit, then headed upstairs to play “Road Rage Alpha” on the library computer. XD I don’t think that’s particularly respectful of the other patrons, Victor!

Gemstones Episode 3.8: Is Peter a woman? Are Kelvin and Keefe lovers? Does Jesse dye his hair?

Episode 3.7 was the worst in the series due to its chronological disaster, plot incongruity, annoying misdirections, and assertion that the guys were just good buddies.  Maybe that was intentional,  to disorient the viewers so they would not be expecting Episode 3.8 : It is intricately plotted, and gives us a huge number of queer codes, including one that most fans consider definitive.

Reunited with the Loved Ones: After their rescue, the siblings are taken to Rogers Regional Medical Center to be examined.  Gideon must have finally phoned the family, because the partners and kids burst in, coincidentally in the order they need to be in to reach their loved ones without bumping into each other.  

We cut to the siblings being interviewed by the police.  BJ and Gideon stand in front of them.  Amber is not present. Keefe waits by the door, still not included in the family; but he does get a bit where he knocks over a trash can and yells "I hate what you had to endure."   They all hate Eli, who left them to suffer and possibly be killed. 

Next, having established that May-May wasn't in on the kidnapping plot, she and Eli bond.  

Which of you is a woman?: With the marital problem plotlines nearly over, we have time for a deep-dive into the Militia. 

Peter and Chuck are driving a U-Haul full of explosives, followed by a ragtag caravan of militia men. Marshall and Dakota (Sturgill Simpson, Quinn Dunn-Baker) complain that they don't know where he's going.  

Does Peter know?  Two compounds have been destroyed.  The kidnapping scheme has been foiled. Everyone has forgotten the first scheme, which required the truckload of explosives.

They stop at Dodge's Fried Chicken, a real fast-food place on Savannah Highway in Charleston (next to a KFC, har har).  Marshall continues to grumble. Peter asserts that complaining is "like a woman," and Marshall retorts that he drives "like a woman."  They continue to call each other women until Chuck gets tired of it and tells them to focus on the new plan.  Whatever it is.

Peter re-asserts his authority: if they rebel against him, they are rebelling against God, because he is the Keeper of the Word. Uh-oh, another Messiah.We see again parallels between the Militia and Kelvin's God Squad in Season 2: both societies devoted to the masculine, suspicious of women, informed by homoerotic or homosocial desire. run by a messianic figure. The militia is the dark side of Kelvin's God Squad  We can go even farther and juxtapose Kelvin's bodybuilder fetish with the militia's fetishization of the soldier.  

Seasons 1 and 2 featured gay-subtext friendships to counterbalance the development of the Kelvin-Keefe romance.  I was surprised to not find one in Season 3, but maybe it's here, in Peter and Marshall's bickering.

Sexy Time:  With almost no sleep, almost nothing to eat, and only a bucket to poop in for 36 hours or several days (depending on the chronology), I'd be interested in dinner and bed rather than sexy time, but after two militia scenes, we cut to the two couples having sex.

First, BJ and Judy take a bath together. BJ: "The whole time you were in captivity, I would light candles and just cry."  It sounds like they were held for longer than a day.  Also, his eye, puffed out from his fight with Stephen, is almost healed. Maybe a week? 

He continues: "The best way to reset is with a really good, deep f*king."  They play a game of helicopter-penis with an incest motif.  You can sort of see BJ's dick, actually a prosthetic, in the swirling water.

Next it's Kelvin and Keefe's turn.  Keefe has changed into a sleeveless leather top with gold studs from the Jim Morrison Mr. Mojo collection.  Kelvin has showered and restored his top wave.  After keeping his body under wraps all season, he displays his backside and butt, again becoming an object of homoerotic desire.  Keefe pretends to give him a massage, but slides right past his shoulders to concentrate on his butt. 

After being invited to fondle an ex-boyfriend's bare butt, most people would assume that he wanted to get back together, but Keefe has received so many mixed signals in the past that he has to be very careful.  His questions are skillfully designed to push Kelvin to a decision: are they going to be post-breakup pals, good buddies with benefits, or lovers?

First he eliminates the post-breakup pal option by asking if Kelvin and Taryn are dating.  Immediately after asking, he has Kelvin spread his legs, feels up his inner thighs, and starts"taking liberties," as Adam Devine reveals.  The actor needed to be semi-aroused so his penis would look bigger for a cut scene with frontal nudity.  In-universe, Keefe is answering his own question.

Kelvin: "Nah. She ain't my type." I've heard gay men say "You're not my type" to reject a flirtatious woman without coming out, but why would Kelvin feel the need to be closeted with his ex-boyfriend?  This must be a structural ploy to avoid having him say "gay."  

He continues: "I hated all the forced claps and laughter and fun times.  I like doing claps and laughters with you."  I've analyzed this scene in detail, and I still can't think of an in-universe reason for bringing up Taryn's work performance. That wasn't the question, and besides, Kelvin quit his youth minister job, so he's in no position to hire Keefe back.  

But Keefe assumes that he's talking about the assistant youth pastor job, and responds in kind: "I love getting the children zazzed up and excited to learn about Jesus with you." 

Now Kelvin clarifies that he was answering the "Are you and Taryn dating" question, not "Can I have my old job back?"    "I mean, Taryn was nice and all, but she's not you." She was nice, but you can't build a romance from niceness.  You need passion. 

Keefe understands:  "She tried to replace me, but it was a failed try." They're going to be romantic partners, combining eros and phileo, trying to "build something" for the future., reguardless of its impact on Kelvin's career.  Which shouldn't be a problem.  He's not working for the church anymore.  They can move to Atlanta and march in Pride Parades.

Cut to Gideon driving Eli somewhere while they discuss how the siblings still aren't talking to him.  

Eli explains that he would have paid if he thought they were really in danger; "I knew they weren't."  Dude, Peter killed a man, tortured another, and sent his guys out to assault his own sons.  The militia was planning to kill one of them "after church."  Their lives were definitely in danger.  Besides, the church paid $500,000 to avoid a scandal.  $1,000,000 to get its pastors back seems like a bargain.

Next they discuss what Gideon is going to do with his life.  He doesn't know.  Eli notes that when he was a young man, he never would have imagined becoming a preacher, hint hint. You want the succession to skip over your children and go straight to Gideon, Pontius, and Abraham?  Gemstone Brothers Ministries.

Back at the mansion, Chuck sneaks a phone call to his brother Karl, to complain that escaping put him and his dad in a bad spot with the militia. Oh, was not wanting to be murdered inconsiderate?  Terribly sorry, Bro.  He insists that he wouldn't really have killed his cousins. Everybody's got excuses.

I can be true to myself:  The siblings meet for lunch at Jason's Steak House, and discuss how the kidnapping ordeal has changed them.

 Judy: "Things are better than before the kidnapping." You and BJ having a second honeymoon?  

Kelvin: "Makes everything snap into focus, that's for sure." You and Keefe having a second honeymoon?  

Jesse: "I can be more honest, true to myself." He's stopped dying his sideburns, letting the natural gray appear.

Jesse asks them to return to their jobs at the church, and they agree. They don't mention Keefe returning as assistant youth minister, but it's implied: everyone has apparently forgotten about the Smut Busters scandal. Then they hold hands.  In this season, holding hands has been awkward and uncomfortable for the siblings, so this is an important milestone in their relationship.  

Not much left in the episode, but what's left includes most important scene in the series.

A bonus ball in Let's Do It, my personal fifty favourite singles from 1954-76.

Very few songs have won both the NARAS Record of the Year and the AMPAS Best Original Song. "Moon river" turned the trick in 1961.

"Moon river" was written by legends of popular music: Henry Mancini always wrote music to bring out emotions, and Johnny Mercer had a tremendous style, telling a story through each lyric.

This one is an homage to wanderlust, the eddies and currents of an adventurous life, of something better being just around the corner. Lyric was inspired by Mercer's memories of picking huckleberries as a child, and of the full moon over a creek near his house in Savannah, Georgia. The melody is tossed around, from guitar to voice to a plaintive harmonica.

In the film, it's sung by Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) as she's alone and wanting to move on. Hepburn wasn't a trained singer - she'd have been nowhere with "Iris" - so Mancini restricted the vocal range and allowed her to bring out the emotion.

And when you give a song with a small vocal range to a great crooner, he's able to give full range to the emotion. Andy Williams sung "Moon river" at the start of every episode of his NBC variety show. Named his production company "Moon river", and even the theatre he founded.

Even though the television show tended to the square - established stars like Judy Garland, cleancut freshfaced youth like The Osmonds - he also gave room to dangerous new up-and-coming acts like Elton John. Andy Williams also crystallised the American Christmas experience, with a particular canon of songs, and schmaltz thicker than the fake snow.

Andy Williams did many things in his career - but he never released "Moon river" as a single. It would have ranked at number 5 had it been eligible.

Ant-Mon Andrew Wasps

Ant-Mon Andrew Wasps is a 2018 Xplorer-directed American superhero film starring Scotty/Ant-Mon Hope Pym/Wasp supported by Marvel Comics. Produced by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Anton (2015) and the 20th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was written by Peyton Reed's network and team consisting of Chris and Eric Somers and Paul Rudd, Andrew Barra and Gabriel Ferrari. Tange stars Michael Pena, Walton Goggins, Hannah John-Kamen, DavidStmalchian, Tip "T.I."O Leng Leng as Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne. Harris, Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, Randall Park, Abby Ryder Fortson, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne and Michael Douglas. In the film, the titular duo work with Hank Pym (Douglas) to retrieve Janet Van Dyne (Pfeiffer) from the Quantum Realm.

Talks for a sequel to Ant-Man began shortly after its release. A sequel to Ant-Man and the Wasp followed in October 2015, with Rudd and Lily returning to reprise their roles. A month later, Ant-Mon returns as Director Reed. He joined the first film after its applicability and responded to its development in the first promotion. He wanted to use Hope Van as a one-liner in the film and was looking forward to and insisting on his treatment of her. Filming took place from August to November 2017, at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayette, DC, Georgia, as well as in metro Atlanta; San Francisco; Savannah, Georgia; and Hawaii. The world premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp took place in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on June 25, 2018, and was released in the United States on July 6, 2018, as part of Phase III of the MCU. The film was an active and commercial success, earning praise for its us (particularly Rudd and Lilly), and levity, grossing a worldwide total of $62 and over. A sequel, Antispan-Man Andrade One: Quantummania, was released in 2023.

Duplexity Billboards EP - Drop The Act

At the famous Globe Theatre Los Angeles with the duo Duplexity.

Duplexity is an Indie Rock duo from Beverly Hills, CA. Formed by teen siblings Savannah Judy 17 and Luke Judy 16. Luke and Savannah have been performing their whole lives but recently decided to take their talents into the studio and create their original sound. The music is inspired by 90’s alternative rock channeling a hint of metal mixed to have a modern feel. Their debut single “Billboards” is a nod to their 10-year child actor journey they started when moving to LA for acting opportunities. Their first EP is set to be released in October ’23 and will be an upbeat coming-of-age collection of songs that will speak to fellow Gen Z-ers. Both Savannah and Luke are accomplished singers who take turns on lead vocals while performing with a live band. Coming from a musical family Savannah is a bassist and they both play guitar among other instruments.
