Sanzang as Arpagius since he’s repeatedly called a beautiful man in the novel so he can be the frontman. Zhu Bajie as Octave and Sha Wujing as Baryl. Obviously Ao Lie would need a new roll made for him so…give that one a tambourine.

Not sure who I would have as the main villain. Maybe the Jade Emperor?

Wow, I spent pretty much all day on this. I really, really couldn't be bothered shading so it got done a lot faster too. Anyway! Here be designs for the underground triplets in the Sonic Interstella 5555 AU! @the-sky-queen I know you were looking forward to arts for this AU so here! ^^

Me thinks they are still royalty here, so I gave them all crowns that are kinda like the headbands from the movie. Also trying to more or less keep their outfits from the show (Sonia's outfit is pretty space age-ish already coz 90s fashion), but added in a bunch of neon and glamrock kinda vibes too. Just for funsies, but also to showcase more contrast to the before and after the Robotnik kidnapping.

Also! Manic strikes me as the kind of kid that coloured in their shoes with highlighters.I remember that was a thing a lot of kids did back when I was in school. (I regret the way I did his hair spikes...but couldn't figure out how to fix it so...yeah...)

The first thing I pictured for the "Earth" versions of the trio was the denim jacket on Sonic; kinda wanted there to still be blue in his design. I wanted them all to have some of their original colours in their outfits. The mind control devices are in the boy's sunglasses, and in the bow on Sonia.

Am thinking that as "aliens" Sonic, Sonia and Manic have more paw-like hands and feet, while Sally and the others would have more humanoid looking ones, so Robotnik makes sure they are kept covered. They also have devices on their ankles (conveniently hidden by their shoes) that suppress their powers/special abilities.

Shadow is quite horrified when he sees what Robotnik has done to his beloved blue guitarist and his siblings. In fact he almost doesn't recognize him, not because of the change in colour but for complete absence of his smile...

Interstella 5555 x Rise of the TMNT AU. Like the main characters of Interstella 5555, the turtles are a popular yokai/mutant pop band that get abducted by an evil music manager and are forced to take on human identities until they're rescued, all set to the music of Daft Punk. Also, they wear orange suits because it was Mikey's idea to start the band.

Spiderverse Interstella 5555 AU where Gwen, Hobie, Pavitr and Margo are a band who are kidnapped and brainwashed to work as slaves by idk, either Kingpin or Norman "Ozzy" Osbourne and it's up to Miles to save them but instead of dying like Shep, he ends up joining the band after saving them.

7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

A lot of it is in fics/chapters I have yet to write, but I am proud of how, in one Undertale fic, I managed to come up with a good explanation for how Mad Dummy could become Mad Mew Mew on the surface.

15. What’s your favorite AU that you’ve written?

There's this one Interstella 5555 AU I've started recently, where one character gets a better fate than he got in the canon movie, and I've been having fun imagining how the plot would change (and the fluffy situations that would ensue later).

16. What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?

Reading AUs where the characters are pokemon trainers would be fun; I like imagining what their main partners and the rest of their teams would look like, and how they'd be as trainers/coordinators/whatever.

@the-sky-queen Here's the boy at last! Added in baby's first concert in the corner (coz I don't like big blank spaces); he's having a great time, even with his perpetual resting bitch face! I like to imagine he got a glowstick at the entrance coz everyone was getting one, but he has no idea what to do with it so he's just holding it the entire time! XD

Ugh, Shadow's design is surprisingly busy. Putting jacket on him was harder than it should've been... Gotta work around the chest floof and then the fact he don't got no neck! Also, I don't know how to draw helmets! Kinda based the design on the Lancelot helmet from Sonic and the Black Knight. Eh, is close enough for now I guess. (Am once again too tired to properly shade here too.)

Me thinks that Shadow's backstory be a little different, in that Maria was never murderized but probably still died young. Gerald modified the Ark in secret to be a spaceship, with the intention to have Shadow fly it out into space to keep his research out of GUN's hands. Once both Gerald and Maria are gone, Shadow pretty much loses all attachment he had to the world below and so does as instructed, journeying out across the stars.

Hmm, thinking that at some point he comes across the Black Arms and learns the dark secrets of his creation. But ultimately turns against Black Doom and the rest or the Black Arms, setting off on a crusade to bring an end to their reign of terror across the galaxy! Or something.

He largely kept to himself throughout all this. The time he spent on Mobius with Sonic and his siblings was the first time in many years that he'd let himself connect with others. Sonic also encouraged him to live a little instead of just devoting his entire existence to his "mission", something he took to heart even after breaking things off and leaving. He takes the time to stop and smell the space roses as it were, finding hobbies outside of fighting, like music for instance. ;)

Needless to say, Shadow was very shocked to find himself back at Earth after so many years...

This post unlocked something in my brain and now I have all these Pacific Rim/Interstella 5555 crossover ideas. I’m thinking the Crescendolls would either pilot one giant monstrosity of a Jaeger à la Megazord, or be broken up into different mech teams. Arpegius and Stella could become drift compatible after experiencing the lose of Shep (who was Stella’s original drift partner) in a fitting parallel to Yancy Becket’s death. Baryl and Octave would be drift compatible. Additional Jaeger teams could be the nominated bands from the Golden Record Awards!

Who else loves the idea of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Interstella 5555 AU? Because Rise of the TMNT especially would be perfect for Daft Punk's Interstella 5555. Daft Punk's even been referenced in ROTTMNT.

For some more context: Interstella 5555 is a musical sci-fi, animated film set to the music of Daft Punk's iconic album Discovery. It's about a non-human (alien) pop band that's abducted, forced to perform as a human group, and then rescued. Basically, just replace the blue, humanoid aliens with mutant turtles, and it'd be pretty good.

The song Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger that's featured in Interstella 5555, is so perfect for Rise, too!

You're right! I'll listen to all of daft punk songs! I Just listened the entire homework album last month, was it was pretty good! Now I'll be listening the discovery album but it's going to be hard not to cry because of what's happening today.

Nice!! I think Human After All is my personal favorite album, but definitely listen to their whole discography when you can!
