Continuation of this post inspired by this one comment I got on the twitters! :)

Was gonna give him red hair coz of his stripes, but it just felt like too much red in a too similar shade, so went with pink instead! And of course he had to match his stripes and eyeliner to match! Sally and Sonic approve. Now all three think the other two are absolutely stunning, and are super jealous of the attention they receive. All three spend the night attempting to sabotage anyone from making a move on the other two. XD

I like to imagine the Freedom Fighters got invited to some formal event that required dressing up, but Sonic refused to wear a stuffy tux, or pants. Sally made it clear that there was a dress code and he had to be in formal wear or he wouldn't be allowed in, and Sonic was like, "Aight bet." and showed up in a dress instead.

Unfortunately, they went dress shopping seperatly and accidentally ended up getting the same outfit. Both secretly thinks the other wore it better, but will never admit it. XD

More design ideas for the Acorn Royal family! This time it's Sally's dad, King Max, and big brother, Elias.

So, I always thought King Max was supposed to be a squirrel. Like, their last name is Acorn, and while Sally is a chipmunk, her design was supposedly inspired by the little squirrel animal (Ricky) Sonic saves in the games. And since he had a long floofy tail I just always assumed he was supposed to be a squirrel, even tho I also always kinda thought he looked like a fox.

Welp, turns out, he is actually supposed to be a fox. Elias too for that matter. Which, yeah, it makes sense when you look at them. Especially in the comics with how similar they are to Tails' parents. Like seriously, they look like they should've been related to Elias and Sally rather than Tails...

To that end, I made them squirrels instead of foxes! I gave them rounded ears just to give them a little bit more of a rodent-like look too. Didn't really know what to do with King Max's hair but I'm kinda thinking it'd be a similar-ish style to Sally, just shorter. And I wanted to keep the fluffy cheeks, at least for him and Sally. Both boys got the bushy eyebrows tho. Not so sure about the crown right now, or Elias's tiara thingy either, might change later.

One thing I wanted to change about Elias's design is to make him look less like a male version of Sally, or a copy of his dad. So he's got the round cheeks, dark blue eyes, and brunet hair from his mum. Also wanted his hairstyle to be a lot shorter and different cut to both his sister and dad, while still having some similarities.

And matching with the girls, they both have the blue jackets with the gold trim and puffy sleeves. Didn't really know what to do with the shoes so it's whatever. Tried to include some details from what they were wearing in the comics tho.

More Chilli shenanigans! This time with Mama Sally! :)

This little skit appeared while scrolling the youtube shorts and I immediately thought of Chilli. She is indeed a very dramatic little hoglet!

Rough design concept for Sally's mother! I don't remember her ever being mentioned in Satam, and her Archie design copied Sally's too much. (Which was a problem Archie seemed to have with parent and child characters...) So I wanted give her a bit of an overhaul!

I went with Sally's pilot episode fur colours, and the dark blue eyes too. Inspiration for the hairstyle comes from the look young Sally has. Wanted her outfit to match with the formal princess outfit designs I did before too, so the Princess Jasmine look with just a little bit more embellishment to it, plus the blue coat. Went with purple from Future Sally's dress in the Light Mobius story arcs. Little detail in that her tiara hooks around behind her ears, while Sally has a full circlet.

Haven't really settled on a name for her, so she might just end up as Alicia like in the comics. Also please ignore the hands/gloves, didn't really know what to do with them...

Started off as that one meme but Chilli took over! And yes, they are very much out in public. XD

Baby girl Chilli is about 4-5 when she's introduced the concept of pregnancy, and the idea of suddenly gaining a new younger sibling in your life, after some close family friends had their second child. She then proceeds makes it clear she is the only baby girl in this family, period.

In that regard, it is fortunate that Arthur is born a boy.

Kid version of Arthur Acorn! Been meaning to draw him again for ages, I like his design but also kinda wanted to change it up a bit. Now I can't decide if I like the blue or brown fur more... :/

Arthur doesn't have the super speed, but he does have the power of Rizz. Like, this kid is incredibly charismatic, growing up to be a true Prince Charming, with a fan club larger than both his parent's combined. Of course, popularity has its drawbacks too. Arthur actually has a lot of trouble with romance, lots of people trying to get with him for his princely status and/or popularity, a rabid fan club harassing current and potential partners, the media constantly trying to make his private life a public spectacle, that sort of thing.

But tho his love life leaves much to be desired, he has a loving family and a few genuine friends in his life that stick by him.

And even tho Chilli adamantly protested against having a sibling, determined to remain an only child, she will kick the ass of anyone that hurts her baby brother! She's the only one allowed to pick on him after all!

Time for a new baby! Introducing Princess Charlotte "Chilli" Acorn!

Baby Chilli is a speedster just like her daddy, and a ball of sass just like her mummy. Sonic wanted to name her "Chilli" from the get go but Sally vetoed against it. They ended up naming her after Uncle Chuck, but she really hated it when people used her full name as a kid, and never really clicked with other nicknames like "Lottie" or "Charlie" either.

The nickname "Chilli" was something Sonic would call her, partly coz Sally craved a lot of spicy foods during her pregnancy, but also coz she was a really angry baby. She had such an angry resting bitch face and was always thrashing, kicking, hissing, and biting (even before she started teething), like a spicy feral kitten. So Sonic was always calling her things like "Spicy Chilli' or "red hot Chilli" or "Chilli Pepper". And the kid just took that and ran with it, practically making it her whole identity.

Pretty much everyone knows her as "Chilli" now, much to Sally's chagrin.

Sonally meet cute!!

An AU wherein Sonic and Sally are a pair of runaways that happened to encounter each other on the road. Deciding to travel together, they bonded over similar issues with their families and their desire to live their lives for themselves instead of what others demand of them.

Over the course of their journey, they unintentionally adopt a twin-tailed fox cub, discover a mutual passion for music, accidentally foil several villainous plots of a certain evil Doctor, becoming local legends to several small towns, and fall in love along way.

All the while both are working desperately hard to keep the other from finding out they're actually a runaway prince/princess escaping an arranged marriage. Which of course leads to several shenanigans as their individual kingdoms continue to search for them.

Plot twist! They were actually engaged to each other, however neither knew the identity of their betrothed before running away. Neither suspects the other of being royal, being far too busy trying to hide their own identity. And so the hijinks continue!

Had some new ideas for Ruby's design lately, and it's been a hot minute since I've drawn any fankids too so here we are! ^^

First thing ya might notice is that now has quills instead of just being a regular chipmunk. Am thinking than when Mobians of different species have kids together, the offspring be the same species as their mother or father. So if a hedgehog and chipmunk had kids, there's a 50/50 chance that kid will be a hedgehog or chipmunk. They might have some traits from the other parent, but they will very obviously be a hedgehog/chipmunk.

This is not the case with Ruby as she is much more obviously a hybrid. Given that her father is Shadow, a hybrid himself, made with alien DNA, hedgehog DNA, and who knows what else, its not really all that surprising. Some mobians find her to be quite off-putting as a result, some even going as far as to call her as a freak of nature. Tho no one would dare say anything to her face, they'd still talk behind her back. The gossip got louder and bolder once Shadow was no longer in the picture too, despite her Mother and new Stepfather's best efforts to shut it down. Just another reason for her to resent the world...

(Most of my other Shadow fankids are with Sonic as the other parent, so the hedgehog DNA is simply winning out over there.)

It be Nicole! And with this I've drawn all the female Freedom Fighters! Now it's just the boys to go!

I like Nicole's OG dress and her reboot outfit about the same, but I feel like the first one leans more into her being a hologram, which is what I'm going for here. Only altered it slightly. I kinda went for this idea that since she's a hologram, her hair and outfits don't actually have to make sense, y'know? Like her skirt is always flowing purely for the aesthetic. And her hairstyle kinda resembles braids, but has these floating decorative beads in the middle instead of actual hair. Once again, for aesthetic purposes. Coz she's a pretty kitty! ;)

Did the shading a bit differently here too. Dunno if it was easier or not, or if I'll remember how I did it next time, but I think it turned out really good here! ^^

Coming through, it's Dulcy the Dragon!! Dang, three drawings within a week? I'm on a roll here!

So! Here's a redesign for Dulcy. I didn't really like her reboot design in the Archie comics, but was happy she was back in the story in some capacity at least. She is one of the OG Freedom Fighters after all.

Was thinking that like Trip from Sonic Superstars, Dulcy is a Mobian with the ability to transform into a dragon. Her whole back story was that she had special powers coz she was a protector dragon too, so is fits. Unlike Trip who needs the Chaos Emeralds, Dulcy is able to transform at will, but isn't able to control her dragon form or powers very well yet. And since her dragon form uses a lot of energy she will be exhausted and often pass out once she transforms back.

I changed up her dragon design a bit, but tried to keep her mostly the same. Am not really settled on her Mobian design yet tho... There aren't a lot of reptile characters in the Sonic franchise, so I didn't really have a lot of references outside of Vector, Espio and Trip. None of them were really working for me... Couldn't really settle on what kind of reptile she was either. Kinda had a komodo dragon in mind but I dunno if that really worked... (Was also using Trip as the main ref so ended up leaning into the classic character design more too.)

The purple with the gold trim for her outfit comes from the outfit she had in the comics. Don't look at the outfit too hard, it's not very good...

Been meaning to draw Bunnie for ages! Finally got around to it! And I somehow managed to smash the whole thing out in just one day too!

Kinda a redesign, I think I prefer the chunky arms and legs from Satam. Also like her with long hair too, tho gave her braids instead the ponytail. Idk, just feels like it leans a bit more into the cowgirl vibe, as well as being cuter and a bit more feminine, I guess?

Maybe I'll even get round to drawing to the rest of the Freedom Fighters by the end of the year! ;P

Cardcaptor Sakura feels like a great theme for some Valentines day themed Sonally too!

You can probably tell where I just sorta gave up with the shading and the clothes and the details on the cards 'n' stuff. Oof Sakura, why do you have to have so many frills and that weird poofy hat!? And trying to fit Syaoran's fancy outfit on Sonic... ugh... T_T

But I think it worked out pretty good in the end at least!

Whats the story with the Empire AU

Sorry I got distracted and forgot all about this! But anyways, here's The Empire AU:

After many years of war, locked in a stalemate, two world powers finally made peace with each other by merging into singular nation. Thus the Empire with which this AU is set was formed.

Sally's marriage to Shadow had been part of the peace negotiations, and so they became the first Emperor and Empress of the new Empire. Of course, the one thing nobody expected out of this arrangement was for their new rulers to actually get along, let alone work together. Though this marriage was more or less forced on them, they came to make their own mutually beneficial agreement. They both wanted the same thing after all: peace and prosperity for their people.

Over time, they gained a mutual respect for one another, and even became something like friends. Though there is still a lot of awkwardness in their relationship as a whole. Largely in part due to the forced marriage, but also because it is well known that Sally already had a lover. One with whom she would have spent her life together with, even having already had a child together, had those in power (namely her own father) not been hell bent on keeping them apart. Most of which were for petty reasons too, like him being a commoner, and even now they're still actively being kept apart.

To ensure the safety of their child, Sonic has been forced to stay away from Sally. And though her status as Empress has granted her some power, this new Empire is still quite unstable. Not to mention there was still quite a few people against her in positions of power within the courts.

And while he may be barred from Sally's side, even as a servant, there's nothing stopping him from entering the palace under the Emperor's service. Besides, he'd very much like to know what kind of person Shadow is, and what better way to get to know someone than by getting into bed with them!

Thus Sonic makes it his mission to join the Emperor's harem.
