In All the Big Ones Are Dead, the seedy underworld linked to the illegal animal trade is exposed in brilliant and disturbing detail. Despite the fast pace of this novel, there is still a great amount of detail given to the procedural aspects of the CIA and governmental operations. This sort of authenticity is immediately engrossing, giving readers a view of the rarely seen inner workings of covert operations. Gray and Carson are patient and professional in their storytelling, with a particular eye for environment, and compelling settings for readers to explore from start to finish. A polished and powerful international thriller.
Review: All the Big Ones Are Dead by Christopher A. Gray and Howard E. Carson ★★★★

💬Thrillers... yay or nay? . It’s a total YAY for me! I love thrillers! The Banker’s Wife by @cristina.alger is a new one that’s just been added to my TBR, thanks to @putnambooks #partner! 🤓🖤 ________________________________________________________ 📖Synopsis: An an early morning in November, a couple boards a private plane bound for Geneva, flying into a storm. Soon after, it simply drops off the radar, and its wreckage is later uncovered in the Alps. Among the disappeared is Matthew Lerner, a banking insider at Swiss United, a powerful offshore bank. His young widow, Annabel, is left grappling with the secrets he left behind, including an encrypted laptop and a shady client list. As she begins a desperate search for answers, she determines that Matthew's death was no accident, and that she is now in the crosshairs of his powerful enemies. . Meanwhile, ambitious society journalist Marina Tourneau has finally landed at the top. Now that she's engaged to Grant Ellis, she will stop writing about powerful families and finally be a part of one. Her entry into the upper echelons of New York's social scene is more appealing than any article could ever be, but, after the death of her mentor, she agrees to dig into one more story. While looking into Swiss United, Marina uncovers information that implicates some of the most powerful men in the financial world, including some who are too close to home. The story could also be the answer to Annabel's heartbreaking search--if Marina chooses to publish it. . The Banker's Wife is both a high-stakes thriller and an inside look at the personal lives in the intriguing world of finance, introducing Cristina Alger as a powerful new voice in the genre. ________________________________________________________ #thebankerswife #cristinaalger #thrillerbooks #crimefiction #pursuepretty #seekthesimplicity #suspensebooks #readersofinstagram #booksbooksbooks #booksofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #allthebooks #internationalthriller #sunmerreads — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/2mdSvY0

Readers' Favorite Book Review: INCOGNITO - From a reader (on Wattpad) https://my.w.tt/swz6RYBXSO Reviewed by Ruth Castleberry for Readers' Favorite Wow. What a ride! Incognito by Khaled Talib starts off with a passage describing where the kidnapped Pope is being held prisoner. And then it takes off, following three individuals - Ayden, Guy and Isabelle - as they try to find the Pope. The three are members of the League of Invisible Knights, a secret organization created "to bring about the triumph of good over evil." Pursuing clues, this team is subjected to various attempts to thwart their progress, including ambushes to slow them down or kill them, kidnappings, and attempts to frame them for various crimes. In the end, the trio is being pursued by police, the media and the evildoers. Their adventure truly reads like watching an unrelenting action film. I can't remember a novel that created the sensation that I was in the middle of a thrilling chase using only words. Yes, Mr. Talib certainly knows how to wield his words. His descriptions of action-oriented encounters are tightly written and very vivid. He gives his primary characters depth and flaws, making them believable within the context of this adventure. Not only that, his story is both topical and edgy. Religious and political elements are both critical to the plot, and the author establishes realistic context and background as he incorporates the appropriate influences of both into his story. The balance between dialogue and narration is very good. Obviously, the pace is brisk, I might even say breakneck in some places. Khaled Talib's Incognito is a hard book to put down.

If you could only read one genre for the rest of your life, what would it be? 🖤 I’m so excited to be working with @getredpr and @putnambooks to feature #thebankerswife by @cristina.alger 📖 and I love the #bankerslunch recipe card they included! 🖤 When Annabel’s husband goes missing from a private plane crash, she is left with an encrypted laptop and more questions than answers. But the more she digs, the more it becomes clear that her husbands disappearance wasn’t an accident. And now she may be in danger. Meanwhile, journalist Marina is ready to put her investigative days behind her as she marries into a powerful family. But she agrees to one last story, looking into the plane crash of Swiss United. As she uncovers the story, it becomes clear that there are powerful men being implicated. Some much closer to home than she realized. If she prints the story, she could provide the answers Annabel desperately seeks. The question is: will she? 🖤 The Bankers Wife came out yesterday!!! Go grab your copy today! 🖤 📖 🖤 📖 🖤 #bookstagram #booklife #booklove #summerreads #thriller #internationalthriller #thrillingreads #bookstagrammer #booktribe #bookcommunity #bookaddict #bookobsessed #ilovebooks #bookobsession #bookobsessed #amreading #bookaholic #bookaddiction #bookblog #bookography #jenabrownwrites #bloglife #igreads #igbooks #getredpr #ipreview @preview.app

The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian is also a series on HBO. I listened to the audiobook. “Cassie wakes up in a Dubai hotel room. The passenger she met on the flight in is next to her on the bed. And he’s obviously dead. Cassie has had many blackout moments but never one like this. Did she kill him? Was it the visitor last night? Cassie does not want to call the police. She cleans up a little and rushes to her own hotel. It’ll all be okay if she can only get back to the States. Right?” Cassie is a character that you keep telling “Maybe that’s not the best decision.” But she keeps going. Bohjalian throws a lot of different things into the mix - FBI, Russian hitmen, Interpol, Italian bartenders and chemical weapons. There are international locations and crazy airline passenger stories 😆. This is a great audiobook performance from Erin Spencer, Grace Experience and Mark Deakins. There’s an explosive twist in the final hotel room. And I love the ending. This book reminds me of Chris Pavone - sort of a literary spy thriller. Great story from Bohjalian. Have you watched the show?#theflightattendant #chrisbohjalian #kaleycuoco #internationalthriller #espionagefiction #bookstagram #bookshelves #booknerd #readinglife #bookwormlife #sodacityreads #readersofig #bookreview #suspensebook #bookhaul #literarycrimefiction #goodreads #homelibrary #thrillerbooks #domesticthriller #crimefiction #thriller #characterdrivenbooks #mysterythriller #bookrecs https://www.instagram.com/p/CdDhOqyrC0N/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Always glad to read the international intrigue of a new Chris Pavone book. Two Nights in Lisbon is his newest book. "Ariel Price wakes up alone in her hotel room. Her husband is gone - no note, no message. The police don't believe her when she reports him missing. The embassy is unwilling to help. When the ransom call comes in she turns to the one place she knows for the money - a man she hoped never to speak to again. A secret from her past she hoped never to think of again. But this man is now immensely more powerful now...and the CIA takes an interest." There are always layers to a Pavone novel. And he peels them back a little at a time. It's a bit of a slow build but there's always something happening. What looks like a simple kidnapping is not - but you don't know what's really going on. And it's happening in Lisbon, Portugal - a great city for international intrigue The story goes from the kidnapping to the back story. There is an event at a party that is very tough to read. There are hints about who's involved. and just how powerful he is politically. You'll like how it ends. A great audiobook performance from January Lavoy. This is a long audiobook and she moves seamlessly between the characters. Another great story from Pavone. #twonightsinlisbon #chrispavone #internationalthriller #januarylavoy #macmillanaudio #ciathriller #bookstagram #bookshelves #booknerd #readinglife #bookwormlife #sodacityreads #readersofig #bookreview #bookwormlife #suspensebook #bookhaul #literarycrimefiction #goodreads #homelibrary #thrillerbooks #domesticthriller #crimefiction #thriller #characterdrivenbooks #mysterythriller #bookrecs #backyardbooks (at Lisbon, Portugal) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ccfd-LArCrb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
