I can’t believe I’m so insanely late to the party but Mario Bava’s 1964 film “ 6 donne per l'assassino” ( known in English as “Blood and Black Lace”) is perhaps one of the most gorgeously lit, designed, and styled films I’ve ever seen. A precursor to Argento’s lurid super saturations of the 1970’s, this giallo is set in the high fashion world and is so damn chic and sensual. The new movie featuring Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger has finally hit DVD and Blu Ray. Today. In France. No word on when the movie will be available in the US.  . . The title of the movie on the French Blu Ray is The Mystery of the Dragon Seal. The title of the movie if it had hit US theaters would have been The Iron Mask. Other titles include Journey to China and Viy 2. And often the titles of the movie incorporate 2 of these phrases. The movie is currently listed on IMDb as Journey to China: The Mystery of Iron Mask.
