I was in fact playing THREE truths, the one with the secret pocket onions is Epel! that one I know is from Jack's school uniform story, because Jack is trying to track down the smell and is absolutely convinced someone is doing nefarious things with an onion and must be stopped. and it turns out Epel just hates the Pomefiore food, so of course his solution is to secretly carry tupperware containers of onions around in his pockets and dump them into his food when Vil isn't looking.

personally my favorite "how is this game real" moment is probably when Leona, apropos of nothing, tells Ace a long rambling story about how when he was nine he was invited to a yacht party, but in the middle of it they were invaded by SECRET AGENTS and he overpowered one and stole a gun and went around fighting enemy agents and SAVED EVERYONE, and at the end Ace is like "what?! is that true?!" and Leona deadpans "no" and that's it, that's just the scene. either that or when Epel carves an apple into the shape of an apple and it completely blows Sebek's mind.

Every time I think about it too much, I go utterly insane over Noé's little "I'm glad you're the person you are now" speech.

Like, no matter how you read their relationship, it's undeniable that by that point, Noé cares about Vanitas so much. He's clearly quite upset by Vanitas's "as if anyone could fall for a person like me" line. And because of that, he goes out of his way to try and reassure Vanitas that he's good and worthy of love, and he specifically crafts his reassurance in a way that he thinks Vanitas will be able to accept.

He prefaces his kind words with "I still don't like you," because he knows that Vanitas reacts poorly to outright being liked. He adds on the line about his statement being "arbitrary" in an effort to pretend that his speech wasn't prompted by hearing Vanitas spill his self-hatred. He goes to lengths to make things look as much as possible like Noé's just sharing a thought, not trying to comfort Vani, but his intent comes through crystal clear.

Yet at the same time, the way he ties his speech to his thoughts on having met Astolpho shows that he really is being genuine. He goes out of his way to say all this because he wants to reassure Vanitas, but he doesn't say a word that isn't from the heart. Regardless of whether he “likes” the way he is or not, he’s genuinely grateful to have the Vanitas that he has.

It's so telling that Noé's reaction to hearing Vanitas speak self-hatingly is to go out of his way to contradict that hatred with affection. And that he tries to go about it so delicately. It speaks so much to his depth of feeling and his emotional intelligence. It’s just such a good scene.

You know, at first the idea of the Galvans being high intelligence-low wisdom made me wonder if the Cerebrocrustaceans have slightly more wisdom than the Galvans to contrast being slightly less intelligent than them.

Then I remembered that one of their best scientists thought that a reasonable response to First Thinker-senpai not noticing him was to blow his planet up, and realized that nope, they’re just as lacking in the wisdom department.

Now I'm just imagining the Contumelia coming up with alien species to populate the newly-created galaxy with and making two ridiculously smart ones before going “wait, we can’t make them too OP, we have to nerf them somehow”, and in addition to having one species be five inches tall and giving the other species no hands, deciding to make them complete dumbasses when it came to practicality and sound judgment.

Galvans are considered smarter on the long term, being typically more intelligent than cerebrocrustaceans on the technicality that they plan thinks beyond one certain goal; there's a longevity to galvan tech that cerebrocrustacean tech has not been designed around, which is not quite 'planned obsolescence' persay but 'right to break' style fixing and updating versus 'goal a, b and c' design philosophy.

But that tends to make galvans 'slower' to think because they (as a generalised statistic) like to plan things to a more completed state, whereas cerebrocrustaceans are great at coming up with disposable instant ideas and solutions and move on to the next to outthink the situation they're in. In other words... autism vs ADHD /lh /hj adlkfhgfkl-!

I think the reason why species known for their wisdom aren't heard about in the wider galactic sphere (beyond just not having a concept in the world of Ben 10) is because they have a high enough wisdom to not get involved too heavily beyond their own scope. I mean certainly they'd be wise enough to retort were anything to happen to drag them out but, unless you're a 'wise guy' sarcastic trickster individual or 'look at what i can make' big brain smart alec, wisdom might not get you heavily well known (unless you're a geochelone aerio against a power hungry Aggregor)-

Nnnn the contumelia... considering that the construction of the universe is beyond our feeble human understanding, being the looks something up fifth-dimensional beings that they are (depending on what Ben 10 defines as dimension, this could mean they are beings of split timelines and come in the visual form that they do because of the very limited 3D snapshot a three dimensional being imagines which at the very least manifests in matters of emotional sway) they may create and destroy universes for perhaps the intrigue of divergent timelines, but I do not think they have control over the actual species that make that universe home. Something something I don't want to discredit achievements (even fictional ones) to the work of one specific cause, yada yada the contumelia being5D beings that are perhaps entertained by the comparably one dimensional 3D lives merely through the creation of new variable timelines.

i have to say. the owl house has been doing something pretty ballsy in the best way, not quite in the obviously inspired by horror imagery sense but mostly in a political sense, when developing their villain in the last couple of episodes. even amphibia doesn’t manage to be this ballsy about its politics and amphibia is a show whose ideology is basically marxism. the owl house rlly made its villain a colonizer puritan white man who wants to literally commit genocide, who was initially presented as phillip the mysterious tragic explorer when nobody even thought about the implications of the word “explorer”. the reveals of both phillip being an asshole and colonizer AND the evil emperor signature villain of the story made a ton of sense and were wrapped up pretty nicely and logically, but it was still very shocking to see for some reason. because i don’t think other shows have quite managed to make its villain irredeemable in this particular heavily political way, calling out this particular group of people so directly, changing the narrative within the narrative about phillip the explorer and turning it around so hard and keep it that way until we arrive to the events of hollow mind. i just think. yeah. pretty cool

btw i had yet another deranged umineko-adjacent dream last night. in this one i’d decided the only way to solve the mystery was to hack bart simpson (?) into the game as a playable character but this new protagonist did not uncover any new information and instead just ran around the rokkenjima mansion knocking random pieces of furniture over and made kyrie really mad so the chessboard thinking information was never revealed in the narrative. then i/the character got trapped in an escape room which was a sealed kitchen and the only way out was to solve some unfathomable puzzle involving four clocks that all showed the same time except for one and somehow this escape room kitchen was both a Real Problem and also an intended way of figuring out a number of key facts related to the witch’s epitaph? there’s no meaning to this i just need you all to know how deep the brainrot has permeated
