🔥 + OCs ?
SEND 🔥 FOR A FLAMIN’ HOT OPINION. anon
ABOUT OCs. so i joined tunglr rp in 2015 or so, and ever since i’ve had to see posts that say things like ‘rb if you support ocs’ or that kind of post that basically talks about how they’re still not so well seen or perceived in the general rpc regardless of the fandom. which personally, is something that i just don’t understand simply because, they’re still characters?
and someone else also said this, i believe it was gladi, but canon muses are basically someone else’s oc. so? what’s the difference between a well-known character from a movie, series, videogame, book, comic, etc. to that someone came up with on their own? whether they’re based on a specific fandom or they have their own built universe that they come from, i still don’t think it’s fair to be so damn harsh on them.
the only reason i can think of as of why someone wouldn’t want to interact with them is because they’re too lazy to read their about. or even skim through it and then look for a verse that could be compatible with your own muse. or just reach out to the mun. and i say this because okay, if characters from bigger media are more popular it must be because there’s more content of them and in general we’re more familiar with them, aka, it’s way easier to assume how your muse and that other canon muse could interact because you kinda know more about them.
and yet with all the effort oc writers put on their about pages, verses, stats... they still go dismissed. i mean fuck, some even have more information than canon blogs cus ‘fuck it i can just link the wiki and call it done’ (hi. a couple years ago i used to do that with ghirahim until i decided to write his own bio. don’t come at me saying ‘but it's just easier, you’re just hatin’ cus uh i’m outing myself rn that i used to be that kind of person as well). plus and here’s a plot twist, even people who write canon muses can have a completely different interpretation from canon, which doesn’t really save anyone from reading their about and/or verses :)) such is my case, for example.
i also really really don’t like when people immediately close themselves to ever interacting with an oc after a few bad experiences. that level of generalizing is kinda dumb and while i understand how bad experiences can affect how you see things, it still doesn’t seem fair for other writers. and don’t even get me started on female ocs :))) it’s beyond stupid how people are so close-minded about female characters in general but that’s a talk for another day, one that perhaps i won’t ever post on tunglr because i might come off a lil too spicy since it’s something that hits too close to home.
final thing im gonna say, i think it’s also important to consider that if someone didn’t follow your oc it might not be because they’re ignoring ocs in general, but (and im hoping) maybe they read their about and still didn’t think of a way your characters could interact. that’s also happened even in my case. i just hope people are not closing off just because ew oc.
long story short, and while yes people are more than free to have their own boundaries in their blog, people should be more open about writing with ocs, less afraid on checking their info and verses and / or talking with the mun. in my experience, i’ve had the most fun writing with ocs and i’ve found a surprising amount of character development in my own muses thanks to those interactions. so i luv them. i might be slow reading everything myself but you bet imma support and love ‘em.
NO WAIT, ONE LAST THING. canon x oc ships are the fucking bomb :))) ship whatever the fuck you want, people. if it’s not hurting anyone nor is it an adult with a minor (in that case fuck off and leave pls) then follow your wildest most craziest shippy dreams.
#▸ anon. ◂#▸ answered. ◂#▸ ooc . munday ◂#sorry it got a bit long LOL#it got a lil spicy for sure but oh well#anyway. in this house we love ocs

Hello, to all Carats and New Carats.
For you who didn’t know about Seventeen ‘past’ members. You can read my post about them, below.
I will not post any profiles or facts about Seventeen since all of you already known about our sebongs (so many kpop blogs posting their profiles) or you can check it on @pledis17 (this blog made profile pages for every Seventeen members).
Honestly, i’ve already known Seventeen since their pre-debut days. Like middle of 2013. I’m looking for this boys and watching their youtube videos (I’m falling for Mr. Beanie since this day) and looking any info about them.
(re: Mr. Beanie is Wonwoo nickname at his pre-debut days)
Seventeen’s project was named as : 17TV You can check it on youtube, but not all videos were posted by Pledis. I just found a fews of them and downloaded it since i like to rewatch their pre-debut days.
Back to the main topic.
Before have complete formation like all of you knows today. Seventeen originally (real) have 17 members. Some of k-carats told me on twitter, that’s maybe one of the reasons, Pledis give their name ‘SEVENTEEN’, because this group will have 17 members. But, as time goes by, a few of them chose to left.
First, we have Jang Doyoon. He was the original member of Seventeen who joined in 2nd Generation Lines Up with S.Coups. You can call him the real soulmate of S.Coups, because both of them were trained in the same period (2011-2014). Doyoon was born in 1995. He left the group and company in the middle of 2014 (with MingMing). Now, he becomes an actor under JB Entertainment. (correct me if i wrong).
Second, we have Yao MingMing. He one of China Lines with Junhui back at that days. He was born in 1997. Ming is one of the very original member of Seventeen since he already joined Seventeen in very first generation. In the middle of 2014. He chose to left the group and company. Minghao / The8 replace his position. Now, he joined a survival program in China. He reunite with Minghao too. (you can check my latest post).
Third, we have Shin Dongjin. He’s one of my favorite since he’s look cute and a lil shy. He was so young on 17TV like Muel. He was born in 2000. Dongjin joined the group in 4th Generations and the group supposedly complete (as original lines up) after Jeonghan was added to the group. But, before this group debut, Dongjin chose to left, because he wants to focus on his study. I don’t get any more info about him after that. He’s like missing(???). If you know him, or get any info about him these day, feel free to tell me.
Last, I’m sure all of you know him so well. Yes, our Baby Muel. Oh my God, puberty really hit him a lot. He’s real name is Samuel Kim. Half Korean-Half Mexican. He was born in 2001 and supposed to be the youngest member in Seventeen. He also ‘hyungs-favorite’ back at that days. Samuel is the first member of the group who chose to left since his mother said Muel was too young to debut in a boygroup. He joined Produce 101 Season 2 and fairly popular (of course my baby Muel is so attractive). He ever debuted as duo with One (YG’s soloist rapper) as ‘One Punch’ but this group was disband. Now, he’s focusing on his solo career and debut as Samuel like all of you know him these day. He also reunited with Seventeen members on K-Idol TV Program (i forget what name is it), and he still ‘hyungs-favorite’.
So, i don’t know i really help you or not. I decide to make this posts since some of new carats didn’t really know about Seventeen ‘past’ members. Last, i want to say sorry for any miss information or wrong grammar (my english is not really good). I hope this posts will help you to know more about Seventeen ‘past’ members.
Keep support all of them, SEVENTEEN and THEM ( Doyoon , MingMing , Dongjin , and Samuel ). Both of them are so attractive and talented so keep support our babies. Don’t forget to spread loves for them thoo.
Thank you, and have a nice day.
Regards. w0ngyu.

For anyone who wants to learn more about Judaism! Also, kind of a post about how to deal with some Things and Stuff. This is a long post so I’ll put it under a read more for those interested:
This is really for an anonymous message I got that described struggles with things that I think many of us struggle with or have in the past: not being “Jewish enough” in the eyes of other Jews due to your heritage being on the “wrong” side (read; on your father’s side), yet still experiencing antisemitism from goyim. Not learning very much, if anything, about Judaism as a child but wanting to learn more as an adult. Not being comfortable with some traditions or laws of Judaism because you are a) a feminist b) LGBT c) an atheist. Living in a place with few to no Jewish spaces. Not feeling welcome in the Jewish community due to any or all of these things.
Book recs!
If you’re the kind of person who enjoys reading (or can at least tolerate it) I highly recommend these books! They’re all books that I have either read/started reading/or plan on reading. (Please keep in mind that none of these are Jewish texts such as the Torah or the Talmud and that I do understand the importance of such religious texts but am not recommending them because I feel those are obvious sources of information)
A Bride for One Night if you aren’t familiar with the Talmud, it’s a collection of writings and explanations of Jewish laws and traditions and it’s old as balls. The author of this book, Ruth Calderon, takes a bunch of Talmudic stories and makes them into these wonderful beautiful stories that are easier to read than the original ones from the 3rd and 6th centuries. Even if you don’t know anything about the Talmud this book is so fascinating and fun to read.
The G-d Who Hates Lies is literally perfect for you if you have issues with how women are viewed and treated in the most traditional sense of Judaism. It’s a really great criticism by people who are extremely qualified to make those criticisms (both are rabbi’s and I think they both have doctorates in theology, specifically Modern Orthodox Judaism, which makes for a really cool viewpoint). I can’t find anything about the third author of this book, who is a woman, but it’s comforting to know that a woman had a part in this as well. Obviously these people love Judaism, they just want to see it adapt to modernity. Just in general it’s a really thoughtful book that challenges dogma.
Jewish Literacy was recommended by an anon (thank you!) The rest of the title is “The Most Important Things to Know about The Jewish Religion, Its People and Its History” so like. Ya get what ya see here folks. HOWEVER I did see a review that mentions there is some Islamophobia and hostility towards Jews who are antizionist. It does genuinely look informative and I haven’t read it myself so I can’t attune to whether or not that review is accurate, but maybe be cautious if you read this in knowing that the author may not be objective.
Book of Mercy made me openly weep and feel something tender and weird in my heart and like. Okay so it’s not informative so much as it’s a book of poetry by Leonard Cohen (he was Jewish if you didn’t know!) He calls his poems “modern psalms” and honestly this would be a good read even if you aren’t religious at all because his writing is just so gorgeous. But it does have references to Judaism and his identity as a Jew
Understanding Judaism is really a “building blocks” kind of book to me, if that makes sense? It’s really informative but also really basic and is fantastic for people who know very little about Judaism or just want a well presented understanding of the core aspects of the Jewish religion. Even if you aren’t a Jew who’s looking to learn or someone who is considering conversion it’s still a good book if you’re interested in world religions regardless of your faith or lack thereof. (man I’m starting to sound pretentious lmao I just mean like, if you’re an atheist or Catholic or whatever, it’s pretty interesting and also this guy is kinda dorky-funny so it makes for an easier read than some other books about religion)
Shmooze I think this is meant to be more for a group to read an discuss, and like, also maybe meant for a younger audience (I’m talking about teenagers so not really that young, but if you’ve been reading dull infodumps by 90 y/o Jewish rabbis with doctorate degrees this is gonna be a change of pace lmao) I should mention that I’ve only read like two pages of this book because I saw it at Barnes and Noble and just kinda briefly checked it out so I don’t know a ton about it but it stuck in my head and the reviews look positive so
Obvious I don’t think you have to read all of those because I haven’t even read all of those so maybe just check one of them out if it seems like it could be helpful to you.
Judaism here on tumblr dot com:
Okay so like. This is really my personal diced onion so take it however you will but keep in mind that this really only reflects things I’ve come across and how I feel.
Obviously there are a lot of really great blogs about Judaism but I don’t have any specific ones to recommend I’m sorry :O I really really hate ~Discourse~ and like, in-depth arguments about the Holocaust because I get so wrapped up in it and let’s be honest, tumblr is all about the discourse and ignorance. That being said, I like to follow other people who are Jewish and blog about whatever because that usually leads to safer discussions and also is a great way to find really helpful thoughts and discussions by other Jews about topics like being LGBT, being a woman, being an atheist, etc. These are just nice to read and also if you aren’t familiar with certain Yiddish or Hebrew terms that are commonly used it’s a good way to see how and when they’re used in certain contexts.
I’m going to tag anything like this that I post here as “good info” just so me and anyone who wants can find this stuff easier. No they won’t necessarily have anything to do with hockey.
Also please be very careful when you’re reading a post that is presenting certain things as facts, always double check what someone is saying because misinformation is spread so quickly, and it’s almost always unintentional. The things that I find genuinely helpful/safe/fun involve opinions, common feelings and experiences, little personal stories and jokes, cool stuff like that.
I’m Jewish on my father’s side :0
Me too boo. Unfortunately that’s an unending discussion, and one that is often held by matrilineal Jews and doesn’t actually include patrilineal Jews, nor does it consider our thoughts/feelings/experiences. Without sounding like an idiot, it is absolutely buckwild to me that there are people who have been raised Jewish, have never known anything other than Jewish tradition, have been subject to antisemitism, but still aren’t considered Jewish.
And then this is where I see matrilineal Jews who hold this viewpoint bring up Reform Judaism, which is one of the three main branches of Judaism and does recognize patrilineall Jews as Jews. I’ve seen some discrepancy as to whether or not patrilineal Jews had to have been raised Jewish in order to be considered Jewish. This is all well and good for Jews like me whose family practices Reform Judaism, but for patrilineal Jews who wish to practice in an Orthodox or Conservative synagogue, it gets tricky.
Basically, yes this is a huge topic that inspires a lot of disagreement, and that sucks, but here’s what it comes down to. No one else is allowed to make you feel inferior because of your heritage. So many people, even modern Orthodox Jews, recognize that certain aspects of Judaism need to adapt to today’s society. I don’t want to offend anyone here, but I really do feel that most matrilineal Jews who don’t consider us Jewish are extremely hypocritical (for a lot of reasons but mostly like...y’all really follow every aspect of Jewish Law? Like do you really? All of it? Girl do u? Or are you maybe just being elitist). Learning about your heritage, talking about shared experiences, combating antisemitism, these are all things that are fair game for you (especially for the anon who said they were atheist) and going to Shabbat services, praying, participating in holy days. That’s all yours if you want it, bubbeleh.
Can I be an atheist Jew?
Sure you can! I, personally, am not an atheist so I wasn’t comfortable finding specific resources about this because I don’t really know much about it? It’s fine with me if you’re atheist that’s none of my business, I just don’t want to direct you to a bad source. But yes, many Jews are atheist, many are secular, I’m sure there are many here on tumblr. It’s absolutely okay, Judaism is an ethnoreligion, and while you may experience Judaism different than the rest of us, you’re still a Jew and still belong.
Here’s an excerpt from a short lil synopsis of Judaism:
These three connotations of Judaism as a monotheistic system, as a literary tradition, and as a historical culture are sometimes viewed separately. For example, there are Jews who see themselves as culturally Jewish, but who are also non-religious or atheist, often identifying more strongly with Jewish “peoplehood” than with traditional understandings of God and Torah. Even so, all Jews would recognize that these three points of reference have shaped and guided Jewish experience through the ages.
Jewish “peoplehood” that they talk about is like. Culture, customs, food, art, history, etc.
One last little note on this, you’ll hear a lot that Judaism focuses more on actions than on beliefs. This is an excellent article that is pretty short and worth reading that I want to include because I think that even if you don’t believe in G-d or even if you are seriously questioning, the focus on just. Doing good. Actively doing good things and trying to be a good person (I know that’s objective but bear with me) is a such a huge part of Judaism that you can try to incorporate into your life without having to subscribe to any sort of dogma or beliefs that you don’t hold. “Judaism is certainly a faith-based tradition. Belief in G-d is central to our religion. It just isn’t a prerequisite. If you are Jewish, you are so regardless of belief.”
But I’m a feminist....
As you should be. This is probably another personal statement you gon’ wanna take with a grain of salt, but I think Judaism, especially in the last 50 years or so, has made huge strides in this. Especially Reform Judaism, but that kind of goes without saying.
Example, my synagogue was founded as a Conservative synagogue. Our website still says we are. I’m not actually sure tbqh, like I said, my family are Reform Jews, and so are most other families in our congregation I think but this is literally the only synagoge for like hundreds of miles so. Anyways our rabbi is female (Rabbi Shaina!) and she does great work, we all love her. She’s really adament on teaching kids that gender shouldn’t keep you from anything, that Judaism is for all Jews, that it should enhance our lives. She wears a tallis, lays her tefillin, and reads from the Torah.
My point here is that while this isn’t like, the end of misogyny in Judaism as we know it, it’s still a big deal in most religions to have a woman as their religious leader, essentially a position of religious power. For men to accept a woman as a religious leader is not something that is super common in most religions. And we’re like, a tiny congregation over a hundred miles away from anyone else, technically a Conservative synagogue, that’s super loving and accepting of a feminist running our shit... female rabbis are super common and I think it speaks a lot to how we’re progressing as a religion. Reform Judaism is going to be your best bet when it comes to tolerance but knowing that all three of the main branches are progressing, at least with this, is really comforting to me.
However, that’s an extremely one sided view and doesn’t really show the issue as a whole. This super short article (? not sure) is a bit pessimistic in my mind but presents the other side of things and gives a good explanation of the traditional sources of misogyny in Judaism, so this could further your understanding as well.
By no means are we perfect but we’re workin on it. Look into Jewish Feminism though, if you have the time. That article is just a lil intro to the topic.
I’m Q*eer/LGBT and I’m not sure y’all are gonna be cool with that...
Well this one’s a doozy.
I’ll kick this right off by presenting an article that is objective and does not reflect the author’s opinion, just lays out the issues at hand. It also has some links to other good pieces, including one cool story about a transgender man, Rafi Daugherty, embracing his role as a father and details his experience with pregnancy and giving birth. I should mention that I am cisgender so I’m interpreting this article through a different point of view, but it really does make a point of celebrating Rafi and his daughter and sharing their story. It does include a little cultural background context, but this is a positive story that I think deserves to be shared :)
Then there’s this statement from the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism that confirms its absolute acceptance and support of LGBT Jews.
On the other side of things, there are still homophobic and intolerant Jews. Conversion camps were not just a Christian thing, there were Jewish conversion camps as well, which is horrific. Idk what to say because I think homophobia and transphobia in Judaism is really similar to what you would find in Christian settings.
I’m bisexual and I feel completely welcomed by other Jews who know this about me, and I certainly don’t feel any less Jewish because of it.
I live in a place where Jewish spaces are rare.
I really hate to disappoint with this one but I don’t have any specific sources or anything like that. Alls I got to say is that’s why the internet is so great? I really don’t feel like that’s helpful at all, but I think for the most part, the Jewish side of tumblr is pretty accepting and welcoming. Obviously that’s not always gonna be true though idkdjaskfl;dj
I spose with this one I wanna encourage anyone who has any good resources for involvement or something like that to reply to this post or drop by my inbox and let me know! Or maybe just your thoughts on some Jewish spaces you’ve encountered?
I hope this was helpful
In conclusion, don’t let anyone make you feel less Jewish. Your sexual identity, gender identity, and even your belief in G-d doesn’t take away from your Jewishness. I’d like to say that since I started delving into Judaism a little more I’ve found a lot of peace. And yeah that sounds cliche and also vague but it’s really a breath of fresh air to learn about my family and know more about this community. Also if you’re comfortable with or willing to try prayer, even if you’re atheist, it can be a good way to decompress sometimes, a really therapeutic kind of way to voice your thoughts and feelings and reflect on them.
There’s so much information and culture to delve into but it’s so so worth it to learn and I’m really happy for you that you’re interested in getting more in touch with your Jewish roots.
If any of these links don’t work and you’d like to see them let me know!

Hi. Sorry if I'm bothering you or anything, but you seem nice, so... I'm new to the transformers fandom and bumblebee has taken over my heart, but I don't understand his backstory?? Like where he came from, what's a scout (he's a scout right), and stuff like that. Like I know it's different throughout universes and stuff but, do you know the basics?? Or anyone who I can ask? Thanks so much
YOOOOOOO Not sure what Bee you mean, either from tfp/rid or the comics, but I’m assuming it’s from the aligned continuity, which is rid/tfp/rescue bots/a lil bit of the movies/etc. I know a lot about bee from those, so I’ll try to condense his story from these pieces of media. Let’s goooooo
The Allspark in this continuity is the heart of primus, which was the first cybertronian along with unicron, but the important thing is that cybertronians come fully formed from this allspark. It’s assumed Bee was “born” from the well of Allsparks, which is where the heart is supposed to rest, sometime before the great war between the autobots and decepticons begins. It is from one of the last times it worked since cybertron became uninhabitable. He joined Optimus’s team after cybertron died on a big refugee ship called the ark, and has been with OP the longest besides ratchet. He got his voice box ripped out during an interrogation by megatron at a place called tyger pax. Hence his beepy-ness is prime.
A scout is a soldier or other person sent out ahead of a main force so as to gather information about the enemy’s position, strength, or movements. He looks for stuff that’d be generally harmful to his team and let them know so they can deal with it appropriately. That’s his job in tfp while on team prime!
After the war and Optimus reviving cybertron, he became a cop to recapture some of the fighting spirit in this new peaceful time on his homeworld. He receives some mysterious messages in reflections from his old leader and it guides him to earth to capture escapees from the crashed prison ship the alchemor. He builds a makeshift team there to help him dubbed “team bee”.
I think it’s weird that he’s a boxer during tfp but uses a spear shaped decepticon hunter during rid. The switch from hand to hand to a weapon must have happened during police academy training or some such. Maybe the design team went “he looks more authoritative with a spear. give him one.” Who knows? There’s also no good explanation for his drastic design change for rid as well. *shrugs*.He’s still very nice on the eyes, albeit they’re smaller now.
Bee pops in in some Rescue bots episodes, twice with his beepy prime self and once with his actual voice. Bee’s outfitted to look like the rescue bot’s simple style while retaining his prime design. He helps out with some rescues and alludes to what’s happening in prime/rid. Whatever is revealed is kind of vague which I think is due to how prime’s art/writing team had fights about where to take the show. Transformers has continuity problems that range far and wide across its media, so I understand the need to keep timeline somewhat straight.
That’s kind of all we have for personal backstory, and you can learn more on his wiki page: http://transformersprime.wikia.com/wiki/Bumblebee . You can also learn more from comics/shows/toys and get some info for yourself, but the wiki is always a good place to refer to stuff you don’t quite get. I do it after reading the mtmte comics a lot cause sometimes I just have no idea what issue a character came from or why a certain story plot is happening. There’s a lot of comics to collect, lol. You can also search for other transformers blogs and ask them stuff as well, my experience with the fandom overall has been fantastic and ridiculously welcoming. I think many people will be happy to answer your questions.
If you need me to detail on something I mentioned in this post, shoot another ask. Bee’s a giant dork and great character to love.

Uhhhhh... *derp* (More stuff about indecision, some talk about doctors and some blog changes)
Lately has been well... kinda okay but mostly meh. I’ve been flip flopping between feeling somewhat content with myself and a little motivated and feeling absolutely empty inside and distraught. It’s been almost two weeks since my last post here (actually a reblog lol) and I’ve really been wanting to write a post but I’m still stuck in the habit of putting it off until I know for sure what I want to write or have the privacy to do so. Or maybe it’s just me being a big scaredy cat again :< I think from now on I’ll try to just write as if I’m writing in a diary, so more spontaneous and with less worrying about structure/keeping to just one topic or whether someone reads it or not, as I’m doing this for myself and my benefit most.
Although I was dawdling I did however sort out quite a lot of stuff to do with the blog and some good stuff irl (which I’ll get to later or in another post). One of the main things to mention is that I switched this blog from my primary one to a side one, which does make more sense and makes me feel a bit more at ease which should make it a bit easier to write and post without the restraint I was feeling before. Whether to keep them linked or not idk, I feel uneasy about it but I don’t think it should matter, I mean it is still me on both blogs and everything. I just wanted to separate the huge blocks of serious emotional text from the random cutesy and silly stuff I also wanted to post, but I think I might still post mental health related things to my main one, just in the form of images and not essays like these lol.
Also I changed the urls from the hyphenated and maybe overly fancy termed things they were previously to more simple and cute ones. I still feel a lil iffy about them (like this blog url feels a bit ‘cold’ but looks pretty and flows well while my main one sounds more ‘warm’ but the world cuddly doesn’t flow well or look as nice lol) but whatever I’ll grow to like them or just change them again whenever, I spent way too much time agonising over them, it’s time to move on! I fixed up the about pages on both of them too, the links and tags pages are still empty for now, but I’m content enough with the way they are now to actually begin posting properly soon I hope. Oh and the current avatar/sidebar image is a really crappy drawing I made 2-3 years ago with a mouse when I was feeling down and was going to make and name this blog ‘rainysnail’ lol. I still might use that name/url someday for something though ^^
I searched for ‘extreme indecisiveness’ in google the other day because I was that frustrated with myself about well, being indecisive (and it was over the same lame url/blog stuff as before, not surprise surprise). I know there’s a lot of stigma around consulting ‘Dr.Google’ and self diagnosis being looked down on as it could prove to be more harmful in some cases and I won’t lie, I do get kinda hypochondriac-ish sometimes, but sometimes it can be very educational and helpful too. I just wanted to know if I was feeling something... something valid(?) or if I was just being an idiot.
I came across ‘Aboulomania’ on my indecisiveness search and wow, it sounds pretty similar to AVPD and my current feelings but the way it’s written is kinda heavier? (and hella typo-ey/engrish-y lol I just chose that one because it seemed to have the most info from the few I clicked on). Idk... it doesn’t seem to be as much of a known/legit thing so there doesn’t seem to be that many sources on it or at least any reputable ones (though I didn't look particularly hard or for a long time though but once you’re past page 2 on google everything is bleh anyways lol). Also on its definition here lol it talks about ‘analysis paralysis’ and that’s something I kinda knew of and struggle with already. I feel some resonance with this finding and feel a little more assured and saddened at the same time, but I’m not about to run around screaming I have this thing or anything. Maybe I’ll look into it more another time but right now I kinda don’t have the energy to .__.
Indecision is something that appears and could be caused by all sorts of disorders, even just depression alone or a whole mix of other things and factors. Many disorders overlap (like the stuff in cluster c which I feel are most relevant to me) and trying to pinpoint exact reasons and causes for things to do with mental health is near impossible, so I don’t wanna dwell on it. I have therapy soon so having a professional help work out things is a much better idea (unless they also consult Dr.Google like some of the stories I’ve read online lol).
I did see some snippets of advice on indecision on another page and it was basically to let go of the feeling to try and always be perfect/choose the definitive ‘right’ decision and to just trust your gut feelings instead of leaving yourself to stress over it. Yeah, it’s nothing new really and I have been trying to do this but sometimes it’s just so difficult with all these automatic negative feelings weighing my rationality down and sometimes I forget because it’s so hard wired into me to get anxious and over analytical. *Sigh* ...but if I keep reminding myself I think it will stick more in the end. I have already adopted the ‘it doesn’t hurt to try’, ‘just do it, ‘yolo’, ‘no1curr’ etc. kind of mindset/mantra when I get hesitant before doing something that I usually avoid lol, sometimes it fails but the times when I have been brave and not overthought or avoided I’ve felt kinda proud of myself and there were some positive-ish outcomes too. So I just need to continue and allow myself to grow stronger in mind and spirit (and hopefully body too).
In relation to what I said before about the whole ‘Dr.Google’ thing, I thought maybe take the time now to write about my experiences with doctors in general. Many times in the past and even now when I would be explaining my problem (whether physical or mental) to a doctor, they would just shake their head and scoff to them self or even outright laugh smugly and then dismiss it straight away (especially if I mentioned I read something on the internet). The feeling of being fobbed off and even ridiculed by someone that’s supposed to be helping didn’t fare well on my confidence at all and I feel it is a reason I wasn’t proactive in sorting out a lot of the problems I’m still dealing with and obviously I am regretful, maddened and saddened as many of them could have been avoided or alleviated better if they were dealt with sooner.
I’m not saying all doctors are like this, I think it was those particular doctors that were the problem and thank goodness I don’t have to choose to see them anymore (I hope). My current doctor (who I actually came across due to those mean doctors being unavailable one time) is worlds apart in the way he handles things. He is so kind and accommodating to start with, listens well to any concerns, addresses them with great care and reassurance and is very adept at scheduling appointments for further investigations. I feel he really goes above and beyond and has both a friendly and personal but professional demeanour. I mean he isn’t 100% godly perfect as there were times I felt a bit iffy with some of the explanations and prescriptions and sometimes things were delayed, but he does try hard to help and is not against reading information from the internet and in fact encourages it and utilises it himself (eg. printing a informational page on a certain health thing from a reliable health website).
When I presented some info and concerns relating to a health problem I was having investigated already but felt was going in the wrong direction (ie. going down the typical ‘fob you off with the most common explanation so you go away’ route) he explained that it’s the typical process to go for the most common things first when investigating and agreed another route of investigation would be beneficial, more relevant and time efficient so he arranged that too. This doctor is such an awesome and good natured person and I’m so grateful, but he may only be temporary at the place I go to however and it makes me sad to think I might end up with the mean kind again someday. But the lesson is to not settle on doctors that are not helpful or any other type of awful and that there are good people out there. Something that was really very prominent and touching about going to this doctor is that my mother and sister who go with me sometimes were also stunned by how nice and helpful he’s been.
I distinctly remember one of the first times I went to see him with my mum and at that point I had been ill for so long already and she was obviously very worried about me. At the end of the appointment he announced what he would recommend me for investigation and assured that he’d help me get better soon with a smile and then he pointed to my mum next to me who I wasn’t facing at the time and I can’t remember exactly what he said but it was something about my mum crying. When I turned to look, she was indeed crying and I couldn’t stop my own eyes from watering either. I have never ever EVER seen my mum cry before, so it shocked me a lot and made me emotional too. I mean my sister told me she did cry one time recently, but that was when she was so stressed and upset over a family matter on her side of the family :c It’s not like this is something on my bucket list or anything, because I would rather her never be upset or cry for a bad reason, but this showed how much she cares and worries for me and in this case she was crying because she was happy, relieved that she would possibly not have to see me suffer as much and was moved to tears.
Unfortunately the problems have still not been resolved or fully recognised yet, and recently one of the doctors recommended to help investigate fobbed me off and it feels bleh lol... no not lol... very un-lol :< But at least the investigation is still going further in some way I guess and I’ll take his words with a grain of salt, I’ve yet to see my regular doctor to discuss what happens next. I think I’ve just backed down and passively taken whatever explanations too much in the past with negative results or progress and Idk I have a hard time accepting things some doctors say nowadays, a lot of it seems contradictory, sometimes illogical or outdated, robotic, insincere etc.
When I’m reading what I’ve just written it keeps making me worried I’m a ass or have trust issues or something... :< I know doctors are meant to be serious and professional, but I can’t shake the feeling that some of them are not nice/unwilling to help as much as they could. I have had so many past experiences to do with being treated differently and being prejudiced against and it still happens today and not just to me but all of my family members, it’s tough and really upsetting... :c
It is true though, that you really have to push and persist if you want something done about a problem, and many times people are let go and misdiagnosed with stuff that ends up being something different or a lot more serious. I’m not saying whatever I have is ultra serious and I wouldn’t know anyways. I am clearly not dying, and I hope I’m not, but when I was without medication at the beginning I felt so bad and I was so scared of dying (even though usually idgaf thanks to depression etc.) I’m scared of being in pain and having to suffer both physically and mentally forever. I want to get better, become a stronger person. do the things that matter and well, in a nutshell live my life to the fullest.
Anyways, about the app with the normal doctor... I avoided phoning on a day I could’ve gotten a sooner appointment (my sister encouraged me to, but she was away that day and my mum said it was an inconvenient day to go, but it actually wasn’t really... I should I have pushed myself to go forward even so...) the appointment I do have is 2 weeks away from what it could’ve been. But I guess maybe someone else might have taken that appointment that needed it more urgently, or there might not have been any available that day anyways w/e. Avoidance playing up again... be more brave silly self!
I was planning to write some more happier stuff that’s been going but this post is already quite long so a separate post it is~ and I won’t keep putting it off! Tbh I’m only comfortable pulling up my blog and writing my feels whenever I am alone, so when my family are all at work, but this only occurs on random days and for such a short span of time. Or at least when I know they are all busy downstairs, I can try but I feel like I have to be extra alert and switch it away when they do come. I... ugh idk :c I don’t want to be secretive or feel guilty but I can’t help it, it’s just so hard and frustrating. I can’t even write what illnesses I was talking about earlier on (though I do hope to dedicate whole posts to writing about them later). I will improve and forgo this paranoid feeling someday though! Believe it! *cringe*
