You know what. I’ve realised a massive part of why I dislike tommy so much!

He’s a shape shifter.

Think about it for a moment. We know next to nothing about this dude because he just shifts into whatever role he needs to play for whomever he’s with. We know he was military but have zero context beyond that but it’s implied he was the ‘perfect’ soldier.

Under Gerrard he’s a bigoted misogynistic racist homophobe.

Gerrard leaves and he magically becomes someone who can fit in with the 118 under Bobby.

Leaves the 118 and we don’t know what he’s up to.

Reappears on the scene when the firefam show up at the hangar and becomes what they need him to be in that moment.

Is essentially actively pursuing Eddie but is quick to switch to buck when it’s clear he’s an easier target. Drops buck when bucks not ready with zero explanation but is happy to go along with what buck wants when he calls him.

Man doesn’t have a personality of his own because he just shifts into whatever he needs to be for whoever he needs to be it for.

i know the field where i died was supposed to be this really good very lauded x files episode but a) it introduces a character who is not scully to be mulder's pastlives soulmate and then immediately die b) the character does a bit where her other personality is a workingclass guy from, like, brooklyn but that guy is NOT mulder's soulmate. hes just a guy c) the civil war is in this one somehow? for some reason?? d) also a jonestown pastiche??? it's just MESSY. plotwise and e) and for me most egregiously it's one of those episodes the xfiles loves to do where everybody gets hypnotized and solves the plot through the power of deadpan dreamstate dialogue deliveries and i'm one of those people who thinks hypnotism is always 100% bullshit every time. so xfiles hypnotism episodes are already on thin ice and this one's boring with every other thing in it as well

My critique of yj is that with the first season I was like cute superhero team doing shenanigans like teen titans and then the later season were Not That

Which they were good seasons but not what I signed up for ya know? So like all my favorite episodes are from that first season

Tbf I feel like the tone of the show shifted more at the end of season 1 which I never complained about as I prefer that style of story to episodic teen adventures which might also be why I could never get into the teen titans cartoon - also maybe why it seems like a majority of my favourite episodes come from season 3 although season 2 is still my favourite over all

Not sure Spinel had Agate tell the whole story to Sango and Onyx to get them to help him out. Spinel often withdraws information.

Sango didn't seem too pleased about helping him out either (I wonder why?), while Onyx thought it wasn't a bad idea to make his comrades owe him a favor. Which is kind of cute and highlights both his naive and honorable sides, because I doubt Spinel would really care about owing him a favor. It makes me wonder if Onyx considers Amethio a comrade on some level (on the sole basis of being part of the same organization) or if he would agree to handling him the way Spinel does. Onyx couldn't bring himself to sacrifice his tag partner's Pokemon back in HZ055 and that was only a friendly battle. He said he couldn't sacrifice his backup to ensure his own survival and that he didn't find any meaning in a disgraceful victory. I feel like from his point of view, what Spinel is doing currently could be considered disgraceful, maybe?

This whole thing makes me think about how Sango and Onyx are actually often okay with teamwork, actually. They can be troublemakers, but they always come along when they are asked to. They followed Hamber in the castle back in HZ024. During the Explorers meeting back in HZ027, Sango was the first one to suggest teaming up since she asked if they were all going to chase Rayquaza together. She probably thought it would be more efficient that way? Even in HZ044, Sango was the first one to ask about Amethio and wondered where he was and if he was late. She genuinely didn't seem to know he wasn't coming with them and actually expected him to show up until Agate told her that Spinel decided they would be the only ones to handle Rayquaza. That means she isn't trusted with information. In a way, I can see why they kept it from her since she did end up telling Liko and Roy about their plan in HZ043 so if she was told Amethio wasn't coming, she would have probably let him know somehow that he wasn't invited to the party.

Either way, it still shows that she wasn't considered as someone worth sharing information with, even though she is asked to come along and help. So I wonder if she was told the whole picture in this situation too. In general, think Sango doesn't seem to understand all the complicated stuff on the research side of things with Spinel and Agate. She was skeptical about Rayquaza showing up in the island back in HZ043 and complained that there was nothing going on there. She didn't really seem to understand what Agate was doing with the resonance generator in HZ044 and wondered if it would really make Rayquaza turn up. She was just happy to show up to battle. Even now, she seems mostly excited about getting to "play" with Roy and Dot.

Watching and older(ish) show - Rizzoli and Isles - and just got to season 5 where they kill off Detective Barry Frost. Me, being who I am, google why he was written out of the show. MISTAKE. I AM DEVASTATED. The actor who played him, Lee Thompson Young, died suddenly and so they had to pivot. Second episode of the season is wholly a memorial to him and I was SOBBING. Knowing that was everyone’s actual grief was just gut wrenching

Lowkey hilarious to me that fandom mori is presented as this big bad boss, whose subordinates are all terrified of him and would never go against him. Whereas in canon I feel like his subordinates are always fucking off to do whatever the hell they want
