#house flippper 2#suggestion#took a break after starting this one back in july and was finally able to sit down and finish it last week!#the flower design on the tiles is made with stains. as usual#the toilet is floating and has a stain on the bottom half to darken the shadow#and my favorite part: that mirror is fake. theres another room in the back#with big ass stains on the far wall to mimic mirror dirt#ALSO HUGE NEWS the devs are working on a color wheel for paint for the halloween update#thats gonna change my life im so excited. the closer the colors are to white the harder they are to get right#oh also the floor tiles are made of individual slabs of the square molding#it's a small space so it was worth it to go out of my way and get the floor tile size right.

How to Choose the Perfect Bathroom Fixtures for Your Home
How to Choose the Perfect Bathroom Fixtures for Your Home
When it comes to designing or renovating a bathroom, choosing the right bathroom fixtures is crucial to creating a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The right fixtures can elevate the look and feel of your bathroom, while providing convenience and comfort for everyday use. At Clifton Bathrooms, we understand the importance of selecting high-quality, stylish, and durable bathroom fixtures that meet your needs. In this blog, we will guide you through the essential factors to consider when choosing the perfect bathroom fixtures for your home.
1. Consider Your Bathroom’s Style and Theme
Before you dive into selecting individual fixtures, it’s important to have a clear understanding of your bathroom’s style and theme. Are you going for a modern, minimalist look or a more traditional, elegant design? Your choice of bathroom fixtures should complement the overall theme and atmosphere of your bathroom.
Modern Bathrooms: If you’re aiming for a sleek, contemporary bathroom, opt for fixtures with clean lines, chrome or matte finishes, and simple designs. The Quoss Chrome Reno Transformer Cobra Flex Single Flix Mixer, for example, is a perfect choice for modern bathrooms with its minimalist design and flexible spout.
Traditional Bathrooms: For a classic, timeless look, choose fixtures with more intricate detailing. Go for brass, gold, or oil-rubbed bronze finishes, which add warmth and elegance to the space. Consider traditional basin mixers and towel rails to create a vintage-inspired bathroom.
Spa-Like Bathrooms: If you’re designing a bathroom that feels like a personal retreat, focus on fixtures that create a luxurious experience, such as large rainfall showers, freestanding tubs, and polished chrome faucets. The Quoss Rain Shower Sunflower would be an excellent option to add a spa-like touch to your bathroom.
2. Functionality Matters
While aesthetics are important, bathroom fixtures must also be functional and serve your everyday needs. When selecting your fixtures, consider how they will be used in your daily routine and make sure they are comfortable and easy to operate.
Showerheads and Faucets: Choose showerheads with adjustable settings to allow for a customizable experience. If you prefer a rainfall shower, the Quoss Rain Shower Sunflower provides a large, rectangular head for an immersive shower experience. For faucets, ensure that they have a smooth operation and are easy to control.
Storage Needs: Your bathroom fixtures should also provide ample storage. This is especially important if you have a small bathroom where space is limited. Consider installing towel bars, shelves, or built-in storage solutions along with your fixtures to keep your bathroom tidy and organized.
Water Efficiency: In today’s world, being environmentally conscious is key. Look for fixtures that help conserve water without compromising performance. Many modern faucets, showers, and toilets are designed with water-saving technology to reduce water consumption while still providing great performance.
3. Quality and Durability
The bathroom is a high-traffic area, so you need fixtures that are built to last. Choosing high-quality, durable bathroom fixtures ensures you won’t need to replace them in the near future. Look for trusted brands that offer long-lasting warranties and exceptional quality.
At Clifton Bathrooms, we offer a range of premium bathroom fixtures, such as the Quoss Basin Mixer, designed to withstand daily use while maintaining its beauty and functionality. High-quality materials like stainless steel, brass, and chrome are known for their resistance to corrosion and tarnishing, making them ideal for use in bathrooms where moisture is prevalent.
4. Size and Space Considerations
The size of your bathroom plays a significant role in choosing the right fixtures. A large bathroom offers more flexibility, allowing you to install larger items like a double vanity, a freestanding tub, or an oversized shower. However, if you have a small bathroom, you’ll need to be more strategic in your fixture choices to maximize space.
Compact Bathrooms: For smaller bathrooms, consider space-saving fixtures such as wall-mounted faucets and toilets, which free up floor space. A smaller showerhead, like the Quoss Rain Shower Sunflower, can be a great option for compact bathrooms while still providing a powerful and enjoyable shower experience.
Large Bathrooms: If you have a spacious bathroom, you can afford to go for larger fixtures. A freestanding bathtub, a wide vanity, and a big showerhead can transform your bathroom into an oasis of comfort and luxury.
5. Finishes and Materials
The finish of your bathroom fixtures can make a big difference in the overall aesthetic of the room. Choose finishes that complement your bathroom’s style while being durable and easy to maintain.
Chrome and Polished Finishes: Chrome fixtures are timeless, offering a sleek, modern look that works well in almost any bathroom. They are also highly resistant to corrosion and easy to clean.
Matte Finishes: Matte finishes, such as matte black or brushed nickel, are gaining popularity for their contemporary, understated look. They are also practical as they tend to show fewer water spots and fingerprints compared to polished finishes.
Brass and Bronze: For traditional or vintage-inspired bathrooms, brass and bronze fixtures provide a rich, luxurious touch. These finishes age beautifully and add a sense of warmth and elegance to the bathroom.
Glass and Ceramic Elements: Consider adding glass or ceramic elements, like a ceramic basin or glass shower enclosure, to give your bathroom a light, airy feel. These materials are timeless and easy to maintain.
6. Technology and Innovation
Modern bathroom fixtures now come with innovative technology that enhances both convenience and comfort. When selecting your fixtures, consider options that offer smart features.
Touchless Faucets: Touchless faucets are a great choice for hygienic bathrooms. These faucets automatically turn on and off when they detect motion, helping to reduce water waste and keeping the faucet clean.
Thermostatic Showers: If you enjoy the perfect shower temperature every time, thermostatic shower valves are worth considering. These valves allow you to set and maintain your desired water temperature, making your shower experience more comfortable and consistent.
LED Lighting: Some bathroom fixtures, such as mirrors and showerheads, now come with built-in LED lighting. LED lights not only provide energy efficiency but also create a soothing ambiance in your bathroom.
7. Budget Considerations
Your budget is one of the most important factors to consider when choosing bathroom fixtures. While it’s tempting to go for high-end designer fixtures, it’s essential to choose fixtures that fit within your budget while still meeting your needs. Prioritize key fixtures such as faucets, showerheads, and lighting, and allocate your budget wisely.
At Clifton Bathrooms, we offer a wide range of bathroom fixtures at different price points, ensuring you can find the perfect combination of quality, functionality, and style that fits your budget.
Conclusion
Choosing the perfect bathroom fixtures for your home can be a rewarding experience when you consider the style, functionality, quality, and space requirements. By taking into account the factors discussed in this blog, you can make informed decisions and create a bathroom that not only looks beautiful but also meets your practical needs. At Clifton Bathrooms, we offer a diverse range of high-quality, stylish bathroom fixtures to help you create your dream bathroom. Whether you’re renovating or building from scratch, our selection of premium products, including the Quoss Basin Mixer and Quoss Rain Shower Sunflower, can elevate your bathroom to new heights.

My takeaway for the new UK guidance on gender transitioning in schools
Please, everyone, respond to the guidance and call it out as how shit it is, don't just accept this shit.
Here is the link to respond to this attack on trans youth
https://consult.education.gov.uk/equalities-political-impartiality-anti-bullying-team/gender-questioning-children-proposed-guidance/
1. If you are under 18, are doubting/exploring your gender and wish to involve the teaching staff but not your parents, then explicitly say to them, "if my parents find out they will beat me"
This is the only way to prevent the teacher from having a legal duty to inform your parents
2. The guidance is rife with "G3nder Cri1ical" terminology, but what do you expect from the equality minister for Britain?
3. Unsupportive teachers will be able to justify their prejudice as "watchful waiting" as laid out in the guidance as step 1
Just to clarify, if a 16yo comes to ask to be referred to by a different name or pronouns step 1‽ is to not honour those requedts for an indeterminate period of time to "make sure." This will be standard across an entire country
4. A direct quote
"Does the child feel pressured to identify differently because they simply do not align with stereotypes associated with their sex? This is relevant as some people think gender identity reinforces stereotypes about men and women"
They need to spend some time on tumblr, ain't nothing about you freaks that reinforces gender stereotypes
5. Another quote
Schools "should not unilaterally adopt any changes, including using a new name or new pronouns, unless or until this has been agreed by the school or college in accordance with the proper procedures and... parental consent"
So, any time a child considers their gender identity, there must be a school meeting about accepting it. They then go on to talk about "contested views"
But if anyone has contrary views, those are protected and "must be respected," not period of denial, and informing the parent to then hold a meeting of if those views are necessary for the school to honour.
6. "Agreeing to a child’s request to have others use different pronouns about them is a significant decision."
No it fucking isn't
7. Children under the age of 11 are not allowed to have different pronouns. It's just an outright blanket ban on using gender affirming pronouns for Under 11s.
8. Over 11 well, now we have to decide if using they/them is a large enough benefit to you that it "outweighs the impact on the school community."
Idiots the lot of them
8. But if we do accept a pronoun change, you will still be referred to as "girls" or "boys" collectively, and we won't stop teachers or other students from not using your pronouns. Did you think this was to enforce your pronoun use? No, no, no, this is just to allow YOU to use those pronouns, god forbid a student decide for themselves how they want to be referred to!
9. Literally just explicit transphobia
"Schools and colleges should exhaust all other options, such as using first names, to avoid requiring other individuals having to use preferred pronouns"
10. The first and only mention of bullying, in full
"In all cases, bullying of any child must not be tolerated. No child should be sanctioned for honest mistakes when adapting to a new way of interacting with another pupil"
Why does that feel like they're defending transphobes from bullying? Oh, right, because that's what they are doing.
11. Did anyone expect anything different to this?
"Responding to a request to support any degree of social transition must not include allowing access to these spaces"
So, it will be a legal requirement for teachers in England to prevent trans people from going to a toilet or changing room designated for their gender.
12. This one is not a legal requirement but rather a "should" statement, which is trans children "should" be held to the same uniform status as other children of their AGAB.
I'm running out of commentary here
13. No one is surprised that trans people are once again banned in sports
The full doc for anyone willing to go through it
https://consult.education.gov.uk/equalities-political-impartiality-anti-bullying-team/gender-questioning-children-proposed-guidance/supporting_documents/Gender%20Questioning%20Children%20%20nonstatutory%20guidance.pdf
Boys, girls, and the genders we aren't allowed to mention, that is my summary of the UK government proposed guidance on trans students.
Please help stop them.

I have a question regarding Asgard prisons. (English is not my first language)
perhaps prisoners are prevented from harming themselves in some way? Is it due to some magical property of the cell or due to the guards monitoring it?
because, unlike the way cells work in our world (prisoners can leave their cells and communicate with other prisoners), these cells seem to work in a way that never allows prisoners to leave. not even dimming the lights for a few moments. and it seems logical to think that such a condition, if prolonged for a long time, would lead anyone to go mad.
so it wouldn't surprise me if someone decided to escape from that condition by attempting to commit suicide. and this would especially apply to those sentenced to life imprisonment.
for example, loki is already suicidal. and after the many traumatic experiences he has been through, it seems logical to assume that he would just like to get it over with. just as he implied in the dialogue with Odin. but apparently, even he who has this desire and has already tried to do it in the past, is not trying to do it again now. After all, if someone were to commit suicide, he would be running away from serving his sentence. which in the case of life imprisonment is even a better prospect.
so it would make sense to think that Loki isn't performing such an act (but instead he finds himself forced to use illusions to pass the time and keep himself from going mad) because he is unable to do so for some reason. what do you think?
ps. I have another important and fundamental question. but how do they go to the bathroom? the cells are transparent, they have no privacy spaces. furthermore they don't even have toilets or buckets in which they can do their business -.-
The dungeons are the highest security prison of Asgard (because I don't doubt there are other prison establishments intended for civilians with lesser penalties as well as a military prison which is separate). I think the dungeons are designed for outworlders, particularly dangerous individuals such as mages and people with a life sentence. They are located deep under the palace and were the second structure built by king Buri. The cells within the dungeons were upgraded later, supposedly during Bor or Odin's reign.
'perhaps prisoners are prevented from harming themselves in some way?'
Oh yes, definitely. If you look at the cells, they are completely empty (yes, Loki's was an exception, obviously), white and lit by bright lights from above. This is very much intentional.
no furnishing -> no objects to harm yourself with. (This is why I say it was incredibly risky to give Loki a glass carefe as well as a mirror...combine that with illusion use.)
the lights -> From what we've seen, the lights were constantly on. We didn't get to see the dungeons at night but with the little regard of the prisoners' wellbeing, I think it's safe to assume they priorise security and thus keep them on to grant continuous access for the guards to see the cells' interiors. Of course, that makes is nearly impossible for the prisoners to discern the night from the day, unless they choose to mentally keep track of the guards' daily schedule which must be challenging in a long-term sense.
personal possessions -> Keeping in mind Loki was an exception and the prisoners we saw were the ones arrested on Vanaheim (and so probably overwhelmed the spaces available + Odin's guards are not the most skilled bunch), I'd say that generally, personal posessions would be taken upon the prisoner's arrival to the dungeons and stored/repurposed. Again, meaning nothing to harm yourself with or to use as an aid of escape. On a similar note, I think that the most common number of prisoners is one ..or more (if they don't pose a threat to themselves or each other).
no visits -> As we saw, all visit were strictly forbidden with the exception of the king or his direct or indirect permission to let somebody else visit. But even then, I take it that any physical contact is strictly prohibitted.
the energy barriers -> My personal headcanon is that the patterns we see make up these barriers are a binding spell. Most of the cells are equipped with one barrier, with the exception of the corner cells which have two, supposedly for increased supervision by the Einherjar stationed by the entrance gate.
'for example, loki is already suicidal. and after the many traumatic experiences he has been through, it seems logical to assume that he would just like to get it over with. just as he implied in the dialogue with Odin. but apparently, even he who has this desire and has already tried to do it in the past, is not trying to do it again now.'
I simply think Loki was too apathetic to act on anything (yet). I know that to us, a year and a half seems long but he was still coming out of an incredibly stressful course of events and the survival mode that came with that. He was depressed and probably too aware that would he try to take his life, his plans would most likely fail. His illusions would either flicker or dispel before he died and the guards would step in. The barriers themselves are not strong enough to kill (they can't be, that would be too easy) and would alert the Einherjar as well. In all of his depression, he is a strategist, if not under dire pressure, he waits to see how things unravel. Again, a year and a half seems longer to us than to the Aesir with the context of their longevity.
(but instead he finds himself forced to use illusions to pass the time and keep himself from going mad)
He is highly intelligent, the cells are designed to inflict mental torture on their own (mostly sensory deprivarion) so imagine that coupled with a mind like his. He had to create some stimuli to keep himself occupied because what else was there to do. They took everything from him and his magic was the one thing they couldn't touch. Of course he used it to hold on to the last bits of sanity he had left.
'ps. I have another important and fundamental question. but how do they go to the bathroom? the cells are transparent, they have no privacy spaces. furthermore they don't even have toilets or buckets in which they can do their business -.-'
Not a topic I gave too much thought to but @helshades had written a post covering this. I wonder how they distributed the meals there, I suppose there must be a rule on how many you can skip before they give you a tube or something. Similar to our wards.

From one mercenary to another. 🏆💳💚
💛Tell me about your ride. Your beat up Marauder.
(From @wolf-among-mechs)
Everybody always wants to talk about the Clanner side of things. Sometimes a little merc chatter is good for the soul.
This one's a little longer, so I'm droppin' it under a cut for everyone's health and well-being.
🏆 - I talked a little about Bloodnames in a prior answer--that I wanted my shot at the Hall Bloodname, but I never got it, and that now the whole thing seems a mite silly to me. But I guess I could talk more about the mess surrounding that.
Aslanbek Hall was the progenitor of the name, and they were all right. Most of those Operation KLONDIKE folks had a few wild hairs--had to, to be part of somethin' so titanically ridiculous. But Aslanbek just seemed like a normal person. The real hero of that line, to me, is Bracelen Hall. He was a nutter for sure. Test piloted over a dozen 'Mech prototypes, nearly got his face blown off a couple times by poorly-designed ammo feeds and bad capacitors and such. Then he tested Prototype A, and that was it for him. He'd found his ride. Went back into active service in a Sun Bear developed from the Prototype A model and never looked back. Barely anyone else saw the beauty of the thing, but he turned that gangly medium 'Mech into a monster on the field. Wound up commandin' Theta Galaxy. He wrote about how it was short-sighted to reward the warrior alone for victory in battle, when it was also the machine the warrior used, the technicians who tended it, the scientists who created it, the merchants who supplied them, the laborers who manufactured the parts. Bracelen was a brawler trained in a couple of martial arts forms, and he likened a victory in battle to a good punch. The punch don't come from the hand, nor even from the arm and shoulder. A good punch comes from the earth itself. The body's just a conduit for it.
When I was desperately scrabblin' for a chance to prove myself, I had it all wrong. I wanted to show my individual prowess. Now, don't get me wrong, ain't nothin' lacking in my prowess. I'm as good a fighter as any. But that ain't what it's about. It's about takin' the momentum of all the others behind you, of the techs and administrative staff and barkeeps and toilet scrubbers, everyone who's ever pushed your life a little further forward with their effort, and applyin' that momentum against a single point. Can't nothin' stand up to that. I punch a 'Mech, it ain't budgin'. But if everyone punches that 'Mech through me, well, that sonofabitch is comin' down hard. If I'd gotten that Bloodname, I never would've figured it out. I would have peaked right there, or even worse, gotten into politics to advance my career or some-such nonsense.
💳 - This one's easy, and maybe that's because my mercenary career is only a few years old. I had hitched a ride with Pandora's Box headed rimward through Marik space. I'd only been gone from Solaris for about six months. They had a down-low garrison contract on Second Chance, and I was to pay my way by spendin' a month or so runnin' patrols with them. The colonel of the planetary militia, who held the contract, was the biggest pain in my ass I'd ever experienced. And that's countin' the mob bosses I pissed off when I swindled 'em on Solaris. Of course I caught his eye. An Ebon Jaguar done up in Solaris nonsense catches anyone's eye. He split his focus between tryin' to put Pandora's Box into debt so they'd have to fold into his militia and tryin' to wheedle me out of my ride. I finally had to threaten him physically. He'd never been off-world, never seen a real Clanner before me, so I played it up just like the holovids. Lifted his scrawny ass up against the wall and shouted every half-Russian insult I could come up with, includin' a few made up for the occasion, and informed him that I was prepared to challenge his entire command to a Trial of Annihilation if he ever spoke to me again. I think the man actually pissed his pants. The mercenary commander, Colonel Black, wasn't too happy with me for potentially disruptin' her already piss-poor relationship with him, but last I knew as I was boardin' my ride off-planet, he was eatin' out the palm of her hand, and I credit that to my sterling efforts.
💚 - Clan Techs generally know better than to complain about their superiors' piloting, at least to our faces. So the first time I experienced that was in the Genyosha. The damn techs had the gall to tell me to favor my direct-fire weapons over the LRMs because the launcher was hinky. Tellin' me! A Clan warrior! How to fight! I was fit to be tied. Reminded them that of course I already prefer shootin' straight at my enemy instead of relyin' on dishonorable indirect fire. Told them that, if there was a problem with my LRMs, it was with the substandard ammunition, not with the launcher. Told them if they thought they could do it better than me, well, hell, they could muster up and earn their way to MechWarrior status and show me proper--unless they had the guts to challenge me for my own 'Mech right then and there.
Over the course of the next six months, I learned that you can piss off your commander, you can piss off your lancemates, but you damn well better not piss off your techs. I finally bought them all a big damn fruit basket and took 'em out for drinks, and we buried the hatchet.
Now, on Solaris, techs mostly don't care how beat up you get. It's duel culture. What my head tech, Aisling, complained about most was me bangin' up the decorative additions to my ride. Well, hell, Aisling, don't put 'em in places where they're gonna brush up against the scenery, then!
💛 - I think there might have been some turnaround here. The Marauder belongs to the woman I'm huntin'. I'll tell you more about my ride, but I'll talk about hers first, since it's piqued your interest.
That Marauder is old as dirt. Hell, might even have been an SLDF -2R once upon a time. She sure claimed it was. But when she and I faced off, it had been refit and rebuilt all to hell. Had a standard -3R loadout. Didn't look like nothin' in the bay. Marauders are pretty enough. Got that quiet menace about 'em. You see 'em all over, so they kinda lose their impact after a while. But when she got behind those controls, that thing came to life. She was her own lead tech. She knew every bolt and bundle by heart. She'd piloted that beast since she was old enough to reach the pedals. She didn't have no fancy motive system control computer, no advanced neurohelmet, nothin'. She just knew how to use the controls in advance of the desired motion. Could track all the various centers of gravity of each part of her machine in real time. Felt like she was runnin' two seconds ahead of everyone else, myself included. And you'd see it in her gait outside of the cockpit, too. She'd walk up to the bar, and you'd swear there was somethin' familiar about her, until you realized you'd just seen those exact motions in the last live match that had been broadcast on the bar's tri-vid.
I digress. The question was about the machine, not the woman. Though maybe I'd argue that there's functionally no difference.
So about my ride. My Ebon Jaguar. I took it as isorla off some unfortunate Smoke Jag who was awfully proud of her brand-new ride. She practically begged me to take her as a bondswoman, at least so far as the boundaries of honor would allow, I think so she could get her ride back. Well, honey, you just didn't use her to her potential. Sorry to disappoint. So I had my new ride painted up in Delta blues and greys and took her on the road to the Inner Sphere. She's nowhere near as quick as the Shadow Cat I rode before, but with all this ranged punch, she don't need to be. My stable on Solaris gave her a nickname: "Razorclaw". Now if that ain't the most stupid, generic thing to call a Clan 'Mech, I don't know what is. I didn't used to feel like 'Mechs deserved nicknames. They're just equipment. But lately I've been gettin' sentimental, I guess. Been wonderin' what I ought to call her. I suppose I'll figure out a good one someday, probably five minutes before she gets shot out from under me.
Well, damned if I ain't been particularly long-winded today. I beg your indulgence of an old warrior's reminiscences.

Sims AU: New Iacon, Historical District, The Brownstone, Unit 1| Tailgate/Cyclonus &Wing
Hello and welcome to our first tour here in New Iacon's beautiful Historical District! This Brownstone building is home to plenty of quirky individuals no more so than the three we're visiting today in Unit 1. Tailgate, Cyclonus, and their roommate Wing. We start off our tour in the entryway/living room with a bright, soft palette that reflects Tailgate and Cyclonus' colors with a beautiful contemporary eclectic style. Just beyond the cozy living room space we can see the kitchen and breakfast bar area.
The breakfast bar and dining area feature plenty of soft tones and funky style choices as well as tasteful additions that hint at the blend between Tailgate's more fun-loving style and Cyclonus' more reserved one. With functionality as well as style given equal consideration
The kitchen itself (with Cyclonus himself prominently featured beyond) shows a sense of forward thinking and plenty of counter space and storage to ensure that Tailgate can easily prep for their Tailgate Parties™️without sacrificing the style of the apartment itself.
There's plenty of storage space available in the apartment's modern pantry and with cabinets lining the walls there's a sense that anything you might need is there, just in reach. The updated windows allow for a wonderful view without sacrificing much-needed counter space and let in plenty of natural light.
Gaining one last look at the kitchen we can see how the practical, open-shelving melds well with the sleek, modern cabinets and allows for practical use as well as forward-thinking style that is as timeless as it is useful.
Taking another look into the living room space we can get a better look at the entryway and fun inclusions that make the space both welcoming, charming, and cheerful with it's soft and light color palette and funky furniture choices.
Moving into the master bedroom we run directly into one of our hosts, Tailgate, leaving her workspace carefully tucked away next to the couple's full walk-in closet. With their various workspace's removed from their sleeping area the couple can ensure their work doesn't impede on any quality time spent together or any time spent relaxing after a long day.
Cyclonus' chosen palette may be darker and his tastes more refined than Tailgate's but that doesn't mean that the couple's design choices clash with each other. If anything they're a welcome compliment that makes the space feel cohesive, fun, and stylish all in one.
Tailgate and Cyclonus' sleeping space features more of that mix of refined and fun with bright carpet, art-deco revival furniture, and modern touches that give the space and sleek and finished look.
There's a true sense that the two have influenced each other. With Purple sneaking it's way into Tailgate's sense of fun and eccentric interests which hint at a love for style derived from pinterest boards.
Cyclonus's space is little better with hints of blue and even a calendar to mark events sneaking it's way into Cyclonus's side of the room to show just how close the couple has become over the years.
The master bath space features a large and luxurious shower space and a lovely bath area with matching spaces for his and their robes.
More stylish storage ensures that there's no fighting for counter space in this bathroom, despite their separate wants and needs when it comes to personal care.
The water closet features a sleek, modern look with plenty of whimiscal charm and an illuminated mirror. There's additional storage space in the medicine cabinet and plenty of room to move.
The toilet is of japanese design with plenty of features including heated toilet seat and a bidet, though I get the feeling it was largely chosen in order to match the aesthetics of the space rather than for its various features.
Moving across the apartment we head into the laundry space and secondary bathroom which is mainly used by Wing. The space features up to date appliances and plenty of storage done up in a clean and pristine environment.
With plenty of space for everyone to do their own laundry the apartment feels down right luxurious even packed full with three individuals.
With a distinct lean into modern Japanese interior design trends the secondary bathroom still manages to maintain a western need for storage and function over minimalist style.
The shower and bath feature more japanese design as well as view out onto the Historical quarter below while still offering plenty of privacy via tasteful drapes and curtains.
The luxurious jet-tub has it's own peaceful nook with a clear view out onto the city so that one can enjoy the view while still relaxing after a hard day.
Moving to a more traditional Japanese style, Wing's room features tatami flooring as well as a futon bed. Regardless, Wing's more modern sensibilities and tastes can be seen in his tasteful work station and personal decor.
While there is no closet in the secondary bedroom there is still plenty of storage space as well as space to entertain, relax and enjoy your own bit of privacy with charming results.
The split-level room offers a bit of traditional Japanese style while still giving space for more whimsical and western tastes to creep in through the influence of the apartment's other inhabitants.
We hope you enjoyed this tour! Please join us soon for our next foray into the world of humanformers interior design!

A bend in space-time Season 3 - [Chapter 4: Schrödinger's Five]
[Chapter 4: Schrödinger's Five] Links : AO3 - Wattpad - FFN
Summary: At the Hotel Obsidian's Oasis Spa, Rin tries to relax. There she meets Five, who discusses their new situation.
Excerpt
Was it common practice in the 1910s and 1920s to design a hotel whose rooms were not equipped with bathrooms or toilets? To plan that you'd have to step out into the corridor to have a pee in the middle of the night, and wash up in a sort of common room ? This one is delightfully named 'Oasis Spa', but is nothing but a square room circled by individual bathtubs, showers and sinks, closed by curtains or wooden doors like privacy-less cubicles. With also several open baths in the center… for the more audacious.
(…)
In the nearest shower cubicle, I hear an old bald man washing himself. One of those regulars haunting the hotel, whom I had already noticed in the same hallway. I let the foam gradually fade away along with my obsessive diagram, and I sink under the clear water to rinse my hair. Then, I take a deep breath and open the drain. I wrap myself in two towels - one for my body and one for my head - then I step out and put on the slippers provided on the shelves, under the incandescent lamps.
And I nearly jump as I open the curtain.
"Hey, Five".
Behind me, the bathtub water drains away slowly with a vortex-like sound, and he raises an eyebrow in his bathrobe, as he walks over to the sink he's chosen to complete his sauna session with a skin scrub.
"Wow," I blurt out in surprise, and he turns around, holding a tube of scrub with the hotel logo on it. "What?" "Nothing, nothing. It's the first time I see you take time for yourself." He lets out a somewhat sarcastic laugh. "Probably because I've been running around for twenty days saving your asses. But if you really want to know, and if you’ve forgotten: puberty causes excess sebum and an inexorable outbreak of acne, even the second time around."

UK Government publishes transgender youth guidance document for England schools
On Tuesday, 19th of December, the UK Government published new guidelines advising England schools and colleges on how to deal with transgender young people. Issued by the Department of Education, signed by Gillian Keegan, education secretary, and Kemi Badenoch, equalities minister, the guidance (citing the Cass Review) states that "social transition is not a neutral act" and "schools and colleges should take a cautious approach".
The guidance also says that schools and colleges should consider whether a child's social transition is in their best interest, and what impact it will have on a wider school community.
Main points from article linked above:
Document (read full PDF here) does not include an outright ban against social transition for students as it has been found to be unlawful.
Five general principles set out in the document are as follows:
"1. Schools and colleges have statutory duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.
2. Schools and colleges should be respectful and tolerant places where bullying is never tolerated.
3. Parents should not be excluded from decisions taken by a school or college relating to requests for a child to ‘socially transition’.
4. Schools and colleges have specific legal duties that are framed by a child’s biological sex.
5. There is no general duty to allow a child to ‘social transition’."
Guidance suggests that schools have an obligation to inform parents if a child requests to socially transition, stating that this should occur "other than in the exceptionally rare circumstances where involving parents would constitute a significant risk of harm to the child." The document does not specify what qualifies as a significant risk of harm.
The guidance is not official legislation. This means schools and colleges do not have to abide by the points set out in the guidance, however many will as this is the most recent official Government document to draw from whilst making new polices pertaining to transgender students.
The guidance is a draft, and is out for consultation for 12 weeks, until 12th March 2024, and the government has said it "would like to encourage schools, colleges, parents, and the sector to share their feedback." Feedback can be sent via an online form on the government website (here).
Additional extracts/quotes, articles and information below the cut
On bathrooms, changing rooms and single sex spaces: (source: UK government website)
"Where possible, schools and colleges should consider providing alternative facilities for gender questioning children who aren’t comfortable using the single-sex areas designated for their biological sex. These alternative facilities, however, should never undermine the single-sex facilities, for example a boy should never be allowed to go into a girls toilet, or vice versa."
On name/pronoun changes (if they are supported by a school):
"These are significant decisions that impact both the child and those around them. As a result, particularly for pronouns, we expect changes to be rare. And even in these rare occasions, children and teachers shouldn’t be made to use ‘preferred pronouns’. Instead, alternatives should be found, such as using first names and bullying mustn’t be tolerated. Schools must still record a child’s legal name and sex in the admissions register."
All above quotes taken directly from government article on the guidance (linked above, also read here)
Currently, individuals under the age of 18 are unable to obtain a GRC (Gender Recognition Certificate) from the Government. This guidance appears to attempt to restrict social transition for trans children at school, although, as stated above, it is not official legislation.
You can read the full guidance document released by the Government here.

Nick Newman helped design a modular construction system so anyone with just a mallet and a drill can build their own home. Since co-founding U-Build in 2020, he has built— and watched others build— furniture, garden sheds, tiny homes, and full-sized houses, so it makes sense he’d use the flat-pack box system to turn the company work van into his full-time home.
[Watch our first video featuring Nick's U-Build universal home-build system, a CNC-cut flat-pack design anybody can assemble to make a home: • U-Build hands-on:... ]
According to Newman, "the U-Build construction system is something like if IKEA and LEGO had a baby. So, it's these big boxes that can be assembled with a mallet and a screwdriver. Effectively, you start out with your individual panels, which are cut with precision using a CNC machine, and it's designed with this kind of locking system so you can basically put the pieces together: it would always be on the 'right' configuration." Watch it at 25:45.

He started using the fully-electric Sprinter van as a temporary home while on overnight work trips. The U-Build system involves assembling CNC-cut, formaldehyde-free plywood boxes as building blocks which then bolt together to create a rigid frame for a structure.
The conversion cost him less than £2,000 (about $2,400, or €2,300). The system is entirely demountable, so the boxes can be reused over and over: it was easy for Newman to take the boxes he was working with daily and rearrange them in the van to build a bed, kitchen (U-Scrub), storage, and toilet (U-Poo).
Newman left a shared warehouse where he was paying £800 for a tiny, windowless bedroom for vanlife in central London, and because the van is electric, he doesn’t pay congestion charges (£15/day). He has tricked out the van to appear in drive mode so he can use the vehicle’s battery and air conditioning and heating while parked.
The U-Build (and Studio Bark) team recently bought an abandoned warehouse in Stroud (Gloucestershire) for less than the price of a tiny studio in London. While they decide what to do with the space, they have installed U-Build dwellings (built in a half day) to use as bedrooms and private offices. It’s the same model as the SHED Project, where they worked with a London-based guardian company to provide quick-build homes from U-Build kits to provide housing for those in need in exchange for building surveillance.

I remember a classmate in high school. I went to their house to work on a project or something and their family had NOTHING in the rooms I went in. Front room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, living room, hallway, foyer, back patio. I mean, there was furniture and curtains on the windows, pillows on appropriate chairs, lamps on end tables. They were not going for some kind of minimalist thing either, as far as I could tell but literally NOTHING that gave indication of likes, preferences, tastes or hobbies. Not even family photos. The dining room had a singular and incredibly bland painting of a still life of fruit. THAT WAS IT.
Now, people have different tastes and that is well and good. And they say you can learn a lot about someone by seeing where they live. I may not agree with the need some people have to decorate a living room in preferred sports team colors and paraphernalia, but I can at least understand it from a certain angle. Or a bathroom that has a... definite woodsie theme with ducks in the wall paper design, a taxidermy fish and a standing bear toilet paper valet? Sure. Why not. You have designated this room as an homage to 90s arcade lazer tag arenas? Cool. Fine. Collection of horse statuettes on every available surface? Snow globes from every town your family has ever visited? Display cabinet full of Ancient Roman phallic objects? Quilts, quilts and more quilts? Normal. Human. Even people with almost nothing to their name will have something you can tell they love or use to make a space into their home. A plant. A book. A weird vase. A single whatever on the mantle piece! You have given me at least one trait upon which I can open discussion or inquiry into your passions, your individualism as a human being. We can engage in conversation. Terrible awkward conversation in some cases, but conversation none the less!
You could discern nothing about this family as people. It was a blank slate. A solid WALL of social facade. I have been in dentist offices, airports, and retail department stores that expressed more individual character. IT WEIRDED ME OUT SO BAD, I TELL YOU. Starting a conversation outside of the homework assignment or school was practically limited to the weather because you had no cues to infer anything. I was never more certain that someone I knew had a room in the basement where they did horrible secret things while sniggering in the dark. (Side note: the actual classmate was fine and chill and basically decent to interact with. BUT THE FAMILY.)
#me rambling#I admit I am a clutterer and collector by nature and by nurture#And I know minimalism is a choice and you can learn things from that too but this was not that#but I feel like a space should somehow tell you about the people who inhabit it frequently at least a little
