AMBROSIA - pseudo-dystopian girlgroup novel - COMING FEBRUARY 2025

At fourteen, Katya signs her life over to entertainment monopolist W-Media to be broken down and reshaped into the perfect superstar. At twenty-one, now under the name Ambrosia, she is the centerpiece of wildly popular girl-group Moxxy, female lead in hit-block-buster S.L.Y., and firmly cemented as one of W-Media’s most lucrative creations ever. She, also, hides a mental-breakdown-induced shaved head under her wig, keeps bleeding out of her nose due to experimental performance-enhancing drugs, and is about to turn the most prestigious award ceremony of the year into a whirlwind of shattered glass and bloodshed. 

AMBROSIA is a non-chronological story with a frame narrative that spans only a single day, while the story-within draws from anywhere within the past seven years of management-dictated shower times, content-factory dorms, and a life made for consumption that slowly but surely turns the pleasure of being looked at by everybody into the overwhelming urge to claw out eyes.

It’s also quite very gay. Significantly gay. This is lesbians. Thank you.

For me, I’m indulging in letting myself make what I feel like, and not sticking to the self imposed schedule that was planned.

I have a number of items I want to work on, from Fenns outfit, to her tiny pastel friend taking shape, to bringing to life the large size of frog friends. Making these lil ones is a much needed distraction.

I’ve also been working on some book related projects and letting myself make my characters just run and play. Which, you know, involves yarn, demons, flirting and maybe a murder.

Hey! How's life going? Hope everything's ok! I've been away from tumblr for a long while now but everytime I hop on I come here and it brings me joy. Just want to spread some of it back to you :)

Good to hear from you. Glad to have you back on tumblr. I sometimes forget about her, but then when I come back and I can scroll along it also brings me joy and I think we need more joy in our lives.

Things are going okay with me. I keep wanting to post on BFSN/sunflower kru posts, but for some reason I can't post pics on tumblr? IDK. So I can't share the two separate batches of rescue kittens we got this year. First Gizmo (super fuzzy and black) and then the Goobie Brothers (Twinkie, Mac and Cheese. Orange and white tabbies.)

I am working on creating a couple of careers (art and writing!) and there's a lot to go with it. I joined an art collective and have my art up in the gallery and am teaching classes and also just started a job a the classroom coordinator and working on their website. Which is teaching me how to set up a shop on my own website so as soon as I manage to do that, I think I'll start selling my art online and hopefully get some of it out there! Exciting.

I also finally published my debut novel (but Rowena, haven't you been writing for DECADES? Yes. Yes I have, but publishing is a different thing entirely. And after spending a few years ghostwriting romance and having no time left for my own books I finally just said screw it, and got this puppy out there in the world. It's a big deal but I keep pretending to myself it's nothing. So let me share with y'all. Almost no one has seen it. My goal this year is to work on marketing. So let me start here.

CTHALIA CHARACTER ASK EVENT

That's right! For Act 3's special event, we're doing a character Q & A! I thought this would be a fun and interactive way to celebrate getting halfway through release, and based on the results of the poll I held, you all seemed to mostly agree as well. So, here's how this is going to work:

From now until next Thursday (Feb. 13), the ask box of this blog will be open for character asks! All manner of questions, serious or memes, are welcome. Not only that, but I will be responding to asks with sketches of the Cthalia characters answering the questions.

Some things to keep in mind before sending in a question:

You can send in as many questions as you want to as many characters as you want. Please say in your question which character/s the question is for.

All characters in Cthalia are fair game for asks! This includes the side characters; as long as they've got a design, you can ask them something!

Questions don't have to be serious, but if you give me a meme question, I'm drawing you a meme answer ;D

While answers may reflect the characters, please keep in mind that this ask event is not necessarily "canon."

There are a number of reasons that I may choose not to answer a question, but the fact of the matter is that I'm probably just not going to be able to get to everyone. Please don't be offended if your question/s don't get answered ^^; I'm going to try my best!
