MAKE SOME NOISE FOR THE DESI BOYS! — featuring gojo, nanami, sukuna, toji, choso, geto content warnings: writing this as a way to cope with my horrible first draft of a oneshot. south asian & desi settings/culture/reference(s), certain non-english phrases or words have been written in italics. established relationship, more of character headcannons than x reader moments. lots of fluff and crack and very self indulgent.
part two!!
Tumblr media
what’s this? it’s spicy? — every time. gojo’s arrogance would be no match for a plate of golgappa with the most fiery paani. he’d insist he could handle it, only to down half a bottle of milk and dramatically flail about. would wear a kurta to your cousin’s wedding but would make it somehow... scandalous? the kurta would be slightly unbuttoned, the sleeves rolled up, showing his forearms, earning him several aunties’ stares (and jibes). absolutely insists on dancing during wedding processions. he’d make it his moment, hyping everyone up, and yes he'll even sit on your uncle’s shoulders, long limbs flailing around. if he accompanies you to a relative's house, he'd out-chat the most talkative aunty. someone needs to remind him he’s not the center of attention during mid-afternoon snack time. insists he doesn’t need or drink tea but still sips yours every single time, claiming it “just tastes better” when it’s from your hands. decides to help your mom in the kitchen one day, only to create a disaster. your mom bans him after he burns roti and mixes sugar instead of salt into daal. everytime he goes with the aunties to shop at the local markets, he always gets a few knick-knacks for you, even without asking. expect you to wear them on your dates together, duh.
Tumblr media
nanami would be in awe of your mom's cooking. he'd sit quietly, savoring every bite, occasionally muttering, “this is exquisite.” he’d be polite to the point where he wouldn’t admit his stomach was done at a family dinner. your uncles would keep piling food on his plate, and he’d silently soldier through, sweating a little but never complaining. he’d be fascinated by your family's love for cricket and would learn the rules just to engage in conversation. next thing you know, he’s analyzing the team's batting order at 3 a.m. you’d catch him sneaking sweets from the fridge at odd hours, eyes lighting up like a kid when he discovers them stashed away. learns exactly how you like your tea and makes it for you without asking every morning. he even knows to add extra ginger when you’re sick. helps you set up lamps during diwali and insists on doing the rangoli with you, though he’s oddly meticulous and wants symmetry everywhere. tries helping you drape your saree during a family event and somehow manages to get it perfect after watching one youtube tutorial. after work, he picks up paani puri from the stall near your house because he knows it’s your favorite, even though it’s been a long day for him.
Tumblr media
geto would become every single kid’s favorite at family gatherings. he’d let them braid his hair, play charades, and act as the mediator when they start fighting over who goes first. he’s the kind who’d sit with your grandma for hours, listening to her stories about her youth and nodding thoughtfully as if committing everything to memory. would absolutely insist on wearing a sherwani to a wedding because he respects the tradition, and he looks like he just walked off a vogue india cover. notices every detail — your earrings, your bangles, even that small bindi you put on. always manages to say something that makes you feel seen and cherished. loves watching old shahrukh khan movies with you and mimics the dramatic hand gestures, leaving you in fits of laughter. makes a mess of eating sev puri, getting imli chutney all over his fingers, but enjoys it so much that he insists on taking you for chaat every week.
Tumblr media
sukuna refuses to admit he likes your mom’s parathas but will eat five in one sitting. he’d grumble about “why does this butter smell so good?” while scooping another bite. at first, he’d scoff at cultural events, calling them “pointless human traditions,” but eventually, you’d catch him laughing at your cousin’s bad singing or mouthing the words to a song. bhindi fry or aloo gobi would become his favorite dish. he’d demand you learn your mom’s recipe exactly as is. and god forbid, you forget the pickle. hates most people but inexplicably bonds with your uncle, the one who’s slightly tipsy at every function and making inappropriate jokes. makes you explain the 10 different kinds of pickles your mom keeps in the pantry. ends up liking lemon pickle the best but hates admitting it. accidentally steps on the edge of your saree while passing by and tries to play it cool when you glare at him, muttering, “how was i supposed to know it’s this long?” initially says, “i don’t get what’s so special about biriyani,” but after tasting your mom’s, demands she teach you exactly how to make it “or else.” always insists on driving you home from family events, saying, “your uncles are insane drivers, and i don’t trust their shortcuts.”
Tumblr media
choso’s sweet, quiet nature would win over your aunties almost instantly. they'd call him little one and pinch his cheeks every chance they got. he’d be a sucker for gulab jamun. you’d leave him alone with a bowl, and suddenly half of it would disappear. he’d give you that guilty but adorable "did i do something wrong?" look. would love watching bollywood movies with you, but he’d always side with the villains because “they’re misunderstood.” his favorite movie is don 2. lowkey obsessed with mehndi. he’d insist you draw some on his hand for fun, sitting patiently while you doodle a peacock and floral designs. takes notes as your mom explains how to make dal tadka. later surprises you by making it, though it’s slightly too salty. gets genuinely emotional watching kabhi khushi kabhie gham, especially during the family reunion scene. refuses to admit he cried. helps you untangle strings of lights before diwali and insists on hanging them up himself so you don’t climb any ladders. sneaks sweets from the fridge at night, only to leave a sticky trail of crumbs everywhere. when confronted, he sheepishly blames the cat.
Tumblr media
toji would absolutely love the chaos of a desi wedding. the dancing, the food, the random uncle fighting with the DJ — he’d thrive in it. shamelessly asks your mom to pack leftovers. he has zero shame about taking home an entire packet of biryani. the man can handle spice, but even he’d flinch at a particularly deadly pepper. he’d recover quickly, though, saying, “it’s good. just clears out the sinuses, ya know?” absolute menace during garba. no rhythm, no technique — just a wild flailing of arms and a massive grin. he's suprisingly good at bhangra and now everyone wants to dance with him. fixes random things around the house for your parents, like the fan or the jammed door, all while your aunties try (and fail) not to ogle him.

I suddenly remembered that one line from Desmond as Al Mualims daughter ask where Desmond was craving a cheese burger and Al Mualim sent Assassins to find it and it got me thinking so I searched up if it was possible but all I got were from the middle ages so I wanna know your take if a cheese burger can be made during that time
The Desmond is reborn as Al Mualim’s daughter post, the “I misunderstood the ask so now Al Mualim has a wife oops” follow up idea and its sequel, the “Eli POV”, for those curious.
Okay, so there’s a lot of variations of the cheeseburger. For the sake of analyzing if it’s possible to recreate a cheeseburger in 12th century Levant, let’s go for the ‘basics’:
Bun
Cheese that can be melted
Patty (ground beef)
Lettuce
Tomato
Onion
Pickles
Sauce
Let’s start with the parts that needs to be 'prepared':
Buns can easily be recreated with flour, yeast, milk, egg, sugar, salt and butter or oil. Sesame seed that will sprinkled on top is optional but can be gotten in Egypt since they seemed to have it during Ptolemaic period as ‘sesemt’.
Patty can be prepared using ground beef (I’m sure Al Mualim would have no problem getting novices/recruits to chop the beef enough for it to be grounded, good luck, you poor boys), salt, ground black pepper, egg and dry bread crumbs. The lost ancient port city of Muziris is said to have exported black pepper to Levant.
Salt for both the buns and patty is possible to get during that time as well. It’s gonna be expensive though XD
Now, for the other ingredients:
Lettuce – it’s originally farmed in ancient Egyptians so they can find this easily.
An onion variation/ancestor has been noted in Iran so they can contact Alamut for this.
Cucumber for the pickles is available in India and other East Asian countries so their best bet would be the Silk Road. Pickling would need vinegar which should be available already by that time (vinegar has been available since alcohol brewing has been a thing… maybe…) (this needs salt as well)
Tomato – They’d need to sail to America for this one. Time to get into contact with Ratonhnhaké:ton’s tribe, I guess. XD
The sauce though is a bit complicated. Cheeseburger usually use thousand island for the sauce but that would mean ketchup and mayonnaise. Ketchup needs tomato as well so… yeah. (of course, the sauce can be something else but then… it won’t be a classic cheeseburger if it’s not at least mayonnaise and homemade mayonnaise is… uuuhh… good luck, novices and recruits)
Now… the cheese…
American cheese is… well… sorta maybe impossible? XD
It would be too much to try and create even a Swiss or Cheddar cheese for this one so what will make or break this cheeseburger endeavor will be the cheese.
It needs to be a type of cheese that can be melted…
Or…
Well…
They do have the Apple so they can cheat it to learn how to make that kind of cheese themselves XD

IPKKND LIVE BLOG - Season 1 [Episode 1]
Sooooooooooooo, I thought of live blogging the show, coz I have not yet watched the whole series at one go. Yeah, I know that's a little weird, coz what the hell then how the fck do you call yourself a fan then see the thing is from the very first time I used to skip a lot of episodes in between of watching only the 'interesting ones' *cries*. I KNOW OKAY !?!?! I RUINED THE EXPERIENCE MYSELF BY HITTING A KULHARI IN MY OWN LEGS!?!!??! But how would I have known that I would be hooked to this show like this, like obsessively hooked, like what the fck. Okay, in some other post I will share my first impression of this show and my POV for ITV today(altho no one asked for it *presses a tight lipped smile*) Let's start the epi thennnnnnn, come onnnnnnnn.
Hmm. Lucknow. Gomti Sadan (Since 1943)
Buaji's very first 'Haye Re Nandkisore' makes an appearance.
"Arre Khussi ka mauka hai." Irony. I might be over analyzing it but this sounded like it's Khushi's chance today(at luck? at love?) maybe because today she will meet him for the first time. Also the next dialogue we hear is from a silhouette of Khushi.
Payal doubts their decision to negotiate this with 'jijaji'. Khushi is shown from the back. Then, eyes. Then, back. Then, eyes. Then, lips. Then, again eyes.
Buaji is in the mood to dance. Babuji is worried about the dowry, but one look at his Payalia smiling and now the only thing important for him is his daughter's happiness. I realized that I loved this scene. There's something special about a father beaming with joy on seeing his daughter smiling that makes him forget all about his worries.
Khushi tying her laces of the tennis shoes while looking down at the dance sequence going on.(What was that song, was it an OST? I couldn't find it anywhere) Tennis shoes. Hmm. we all had that same shoe for PT uniform.
Ads. Ads. ADS.
Khushi is revealed in full at the mandir in front of her best friend, Devi Maiyya.
'Maaf kijiye kaka ji abhi thodi si jaldi hai, baaki ki maafi laut kar maangte hain." Lol. Nothing. Just Khushi being herself for 10 seconds straight.
Dowry. 10 Lakh in cash and his shop papers for another 10. Babuji already doubtful (very rightfully so!) of the kind of family that they are getting Payal married into. Garima trying to erase those doubts by her sick 'excuses'.
Lol. Khushi, in a green and pink lehenga, driving a scooter having milk canisters attached to it, and guess what, everyone, literally EVERYONE, in the road is staring at her. Ughhh. Girls facing eve-teasing in India, unfortunately a very common thing.
A cute scene is here, guys. Like wow. Look at her excuse. She is going to school for a drama competition looking like princess. "Then where is your prince?", asks that kucchi-mucchi kid(yeah I feel like pulling his cheeks.)
Khushi looks up, to the kid, at the question ANDDDDDDDDDDD FINALLY GUYSSSSSSSS.
The bg score changes to an-introductory?-'important?'- instrumental. And there comes the first scene of Sobti flying in, in a helicopter. Lol. I remember an interview where he said this that he still remembers that first scene, and later getting demoted to SUVs. Lol.
Anyways, homies. Get ready. Drone shot of Lucknow and then-
UGHHHHHHHH. ADS. HOTSTAR WHAT IS THIS BEHAVIOR!?!?!!?
Sheesh Mahal.
There aren't even enough guards to stop the media from running further towards the helipad. They can easily do so but- maybe they were given a warning for not crossing a line. Who knows? *shrugs*
ASR revealed. His ASR BG playing in its full bloom. Full bloom. Lol. Does that even make sense? I hope it does.
Is it only me or anyone else also feels that there is a huge distance between where Bitwa is standing and where the reporters are? *shrugs*
Btw he seems like he does not even give a fck to what they are saying.
We get a glimpse of Arnav's traumatic past. And the scene cuts to Arnav getting jolted out by-a Dove?- Coincidence? I think not. Dove is a symbol of peace. Metaphor playing at its best. As today he will also meet the person who will become his solace for forever.
Also, that transition from Arnav to ASR. Take a bow, Mr. Sobti. *bows down with joined hands*
Chachaji. Epitome of Hypocrisy. Talking about morals. Arnav's face is like 'Just shut the fck up, chachaji.'
Here, chachaji thought he would be getting the money. But, to clear his doubt, Arnav shuts the suitcase and passes it to Khan Saheb, indicating the opposite.
Arnav's first dialogue.
He said two lines, here. I think the first line clears the air for chachaji that things are serious, and the second line was a hint given to him to realise who he is dealing with, that is, his late brother's son. Arnav hinted at his greed for money and property. But, for him money is his occupation, his business. "Paisa mera shauk nahi, pesha hai." But, unsurprisingly chachaji did not get it.
Khan Saheb reveals that he has sold the Sheesh Mahal to Raizada Sa'ab. Chachaji's face is worth looking at.
D-dddd-did you see the contrast in their opinions about zameer, asul aur paisa....???? My goshhhhh. Like they are exact opposite, poles apart.
Okay a little glossary here : Zameer- conscience Asul(or usul, both are the same, only accent is different)- morals paisa- money
He finally let his chachaji know who he is. Lol. Look at his (chachaji's) face.
Fashion Show.
The first two models walk in with ASR. The right one's dress was fine, but. Umm. Look at the left one. They simply took a red dress and stitched a net dupatta to it. wOw. fAsHiOn. And this is nothing. There's more to come. Just wait till ASR's introduction speech is over.
Raizada Show, the biggest annual show. Collection name was- Sonar?- can anyone decode it? Why did Sobti had to mumble it?
First personal question. Ignore. Second personal question. Lashes out politely. Third personal question. Just shut the fck up and mind your own business. Very apt representation of Indian Media, today.
Chicky?-Tricky?-Chicken?- Textiles', What the hell did you mumble Mr. Sobti???? have introduced a new technology, then obviously i-is it only me or anyone else as well that seriously didn't understand what did he mumbled here-?? But guess what, Anjali Di understood it. DI PLEASE TELL USSSSS. PLSSSSS.
His sister can read him so well. Even tho he MUMBLES everything he says. Which is also not very much.
Arnav is saying that he has already moved on long ago while getting teary eyed about getting reminded of his past. The most painful scene. No, bitwa you haven't moved on you have just suppressed all your emotions under this tight lid called 'ASR'.
Every one at Gomti Sadan is worried about Khushi and the papers' absence.
It took Khushi almost the whole day to reach Sheesh Mahal. Arnav what is this behaviour??? Why didn't you send a car for your wife?? Heh. Lol. JK.
Khushi proves that she is a child trapped in a body of a late teen here. Lol. Look at her. "Bhool bhoolaiya, chale hai paiya, raah bata do mori maiyya, aaj batado humko rasta, tumhe khila dun puri khasta." while turning round and round for the hint of the correct 'direction'. And Devi Maiyya directed her straight to her prince.
Tears pooling in her eyes, lips taking devi maiyya's name continuously, closes her eyes. Khushi has absolutely no idea what is she expected to do. She is just standing and waiting for something to happen.
This sequence is the eye sequence. You might already know the symbolization. Khushi closed her eyes for strength and support just as Arnav opened his to open a new chapter of his life.
Arnav is quite shocked and angry as well. And then the famous fall and catch happens.
Here, Arnav, on getting a close up of Khushi's face, kind of likes what he sees. Guys, Khushi's fingers clutching on Arnav's collar is just- *takes a deep breath and starts hyperventilating*
He looks at the eyes. Hazel brown. Then, looks down at the lips. Pink gloss. Shiny. Trembling. Back to the eyes. quite the same rhythm that they followed while introducing Khushi.
The Aesthetic of the scene is so beautiful. Arnav's face, Khushi's face, them in an intense eye lock along with the Golden lights and sparkles in the background. Khushi taking a look at his lips in turn. *sighs dreamily*
Screen fades. Precap starts. *quickly pauses it* I am not a huge fan of spoilers so I generally don't watch them.
P.S.: Okay so the other dresses weren't that bad. I am sorry I doubted your skilz, bitwa. You are bhery talonted.
I hope you loved it coz I had a lot of fun doing this. :)
Next Episode!

Aperçu of the Week:
“Keep pushing!”
(Literally every Formula 1 team principal over radio)
Bad News of the Week:
"Opposition is crap" is what Franz Müntefering, the legendary party leader of the German Social Democrats, once said. He may be right. But that should in no way justify the fact that some opposition politicians limit their political positioning to just that: opposition. In other words, being against. Against everything the incumbent government does. Basically. But that is precisely what Friedrich Merz, head of the largest opposition party in the Bundestag, the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), is doing.
As a reminder, Merz was fired by Angela Merkel at the time. He earned millions at Blackrock and thought he was in heaven - on his third attempt and after almost 20 years of political abstinence - when he finally became head of his oh-so-beloved party. But the 20 years have not been kind to him. Sometimes it seems as if he has been on another star. His catchphrase at beer tent speeches is "Kreuzberg is not Germany - you are Germany!" He is usually applauded for this.
You have to know that Kreuzberg is a district in Berlin that was very colorful for decades. Many peoples, many languages, many cultures, many religions. Beautiful, actually. But for Merz and people like him, the epitome of non-German. And then also woke - where you can order your cappuccino with almond milk, families can have two mothers or two fathers, and there's no one named Friedrich in kindergarten. So for a stick conservative, it's hell on earth. And for the political opponent (i.e. the Greens and everyone to the left of the CDU - in other words, everyone), the home of the ideologically lost.
Merz is wrong in two respects. For one thing, even Kreuzberg is gentrified these days. Investment bankers like him live in the barely affordable old buildings. And there are far more SUVs on the street than rickshaws. So the image of a parallel society outside the "usual norms" no longer holds water. On the other hand, we now live in the 21st century. In which "Who's afraid of the bogeyman?" is no longer played in the playgrounds and everyone knows that the vegetables at Tarek's or Giorgios' on the corner are better than those in the supermarket. So Merz has disqualified himself with his Kreuzberg bashing. Once again. My hope is that this will slowly get around to his clientele...
Good News of the Week:
At the latest when it became clear that China's head of state Xi Jinping would not be attending, the G20 summit in India looked like a flop. And then intermediate shades - such as whether the host would call itself Bharat instead of India - seemed to dominate. So a pure show event with pretty pictures for the evening news and political experts mainly analyzing what is not happening? No, far from it. India achieved many small breakthroughs and even three major ones that were not expected.
First, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Sherpas succeeded in issuing an official final declaration that was supported by all 20 states. Which seemed unlikely with Russia and the U.S. at one table. Even if the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine is not mentioned by name, the use of brutal force is condemned. An "impressive diplomatic achievement," as Die Tagesschau writes. "The host saved a presidency that was threatened with failure."
Then a gigantic infrastructure project was launched that clearly positions itself against China's "New Silk Road." At this point, at the latest, Jinping might have regretted not coming. India, the Middle East - including Israel! - and Europe are to be better connected with the help of the United States - with rail tracks, hydrogen pipelines and power lines for renewable energies. Apparently a plan to be taken seriously. Because Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni immediately took the opportunity to announce in New Delhi that her country (the only participant so far from the European Union) was withdrawing from the partnership program with China.
And finally, the G20 effectively became the G21. For the "African Union" was welcomed as a new member on the very first day. The maltreated continent is thus given a voice at the table where the fate of humanity is decided. The bottom line is that one thing is also clear after this summit: there are more and more significant players whose self-confidence is growing. The world is becoming more multipolar. And that is a good thing.
Personal happy moment of the week:
Last week I was having a lot of happy moments. Bavarian moments with a Canadian guest to be precise. It's always nice to be able to introduce someone to your region, culture, cuisine, language, country, city, etc. If this is well received and appreciated, you are happy that you are privileged to live here. And even things that are commonplace for you start to shine again. Bella Bavaria!
I couldn't care less...
...that the Kremlin's United Russia party was declared the winner in sham elections in the Russian-occupied territories of eastern Ukraine. Key word of this statement: sham elections.
As I write this...
...everything in Germany revolves around the ball. First, on Sunday, the German men's basketball team won the world championship in Manila in a complete surprise - yes, (also) against the USA. And my second home country Canada won the bronze medal - yes, against the USA. Then the German soccer federation fired national coach Hansi Flick for losing a test match against Japan on Saturday in a crash. After he got knocked out in the preliminary round against Japan at last year's World Cup and hadn't improved at all since. If Germany were not hosting the European Soccer Championship next year, they would even have to fear for qualification.
Post Scriptum
Germany's society is aging. That's why we need a good half million immigrants every year, even if some on the political right don't want to acknowledge that. However, we are facing international competition. In which we are doing anything but well. I just read a series of interviews in which expats tell why they gave Germany a chance (leading technology companies, public safety, moderate climate) but then left again (excessive bureaucracy, difficult language, lack of a welcoming culture). As long as no one at least speaks English at the foreigners' authorities, landlords bluntly prefer "Bio-Germans", foreign educational qualifications are not recognized and little Fatima is looked at askance in kindergarten, there will be no preservation of our prosperity.
