First time posting models on my new blog

Lets see...

Behold! My Knight Gallant. I wanted to recreate the pose of a running Chaos Knight I saw in artwork, only for my loyalist Knights.

Had to do a little mucking around to get the position of the legs exactly right, but she turned out pretty well in the end.

Here she is all painted up in my custom Imperial Knight's house regalia. I started working on her base and that is where it all fell apart... I could not get that river looking how I wanted :-/ ... So she got shelved - I'll come back to her when I have a clear idea on how I can do my Knight's bases how I want.

Next up. Some of the T'au I've been working on.

Honestly CANNOT stand the "egg-bot" look of the XV25 Stealth Suit, so I kitbashed some VX15 Stealth Suits instead.

Then the new Vespid dropped, so you bet I jumped on those. Here's the first five I painted up next to some of my Kroot Hounds and my XV8-02 Iridium Suit Commander.

Everything was going great for my T'au until I got fed up with my Vespid's colour scheme; I decided I didn't like it after all, so they all went into the ultrasonic cleaner to be paint-stripped. I'll give em another go when I feel the call of the Greater Good in the future.

After feeling defeated by my Vespid not turning out how I wanted, I dusted off my Chaos Daemons, starting with my new Lord of Change.

I find Daemons to be one of the better armies to paint in terms of motivation; there is just so much potential for expressive paint schemes.

I got my Herald of Tzeentch together and started painting him, as well as a small cohort of Flamers to fill out the Tzeentchen quarter of my list; the other three Greater Daemons can be seen in the background.

I'm content to work on my Daemons for now; when I think about it, Chaos Daemons are my favourite faction in 40k - like, they're bad guys (like everyone else in 40) but it's "your" fault. Tzeentch exists because of the schemes of mortals, Slaanesh exists because the Aeldari fell from grace, Khorne exists because the galaxy is at war, and Grandfather Nurgle exists because he is Santa and he loves everyone in the galaxy.

I'll have more pics of my models to post as I get some things finished :)

Not much to say about the festive season battle force boxes. These have historically been a great value in terms of individually packaged models, and this year's offerings have been built around specific detachments and are meant to complement the contents of their respective armies' combat patrol sets.

Big if true, especially if they're priced to move but we won't have the MSRP for a while yet.
